Do Re Mi Covid-19 version - nothing like Covid 19 songs to help us know how to beat this pandemic! A relyricing of the popular Sound of Music song.
Lyrics below.
A couple of quick points:
- The song is not intended to be taken seriously - I made it to humour myself and am quite blown away at the following it's got over such a short time. No, wine is not a cure for Covid 19. Neither is whinging or blobbing (real words.) No, they're not good at social distancing in the video - it was released in 1965.
- Arguments about the origin of the virus and racist remarks will be deleted. Wherever Patient 0 got it from, the song refers to the fact that major spread first started in Wuhan, something which literature from all sides acknowledges. This does not give license for anyone to think negatively about the region or play blame games. I will delete bigoted and racist comments about China or her people, America or her people, and anywhere in between.

In 50 years we are all going to get interviewed about our time living during COVID-19 and what we felt and experienced during this. Some will say they lost their jobs, others will say they reconnected with family, others will find reasons that it was socially acceptable to drink at 11am while working remotely. This video to me represents the day when life went from a normal day at work and home to not knowing what will ever happen next!!

In 5 days it will be a month and three weeks since I could go for a walk. I live in a home that has extra rules for protection so I could go on a walk alone for a whole week of isolation which made it easier. But now my only connection to the world is when I take out the garbage or am on my tablet.

At the beginning of the lockdown in March 2020 in Switzerland, when my supervisor told me not to come to work due to a cold, I searched for songs about COVID-19 and came across this song. Since then, not a day goes by that I do not listen to this. Even at work, I often go like "Do not fear but please stay here, stay at home now, everyone. We must wash and clean things well, cars? No long trips just for fun"… Now I am in the process of writing a COVID version of this song in German (German is my first language).
