The flaw of this story is Medivh, he returned to make things right and can see the future to some extent, knowing how to defeat the Legion, foresaw the outcome of Arthas path from the beginning. I doubt he would just leave without leaving Azeroth in a general balance.
Yes but future has many paths, Medievh saw only one, this story branches out after Artha's fall and he might not have seen it that far or that right. Khadgar as a young apprentice saw the same in Karazhan, visions of future, but which one is ours?
It was in balance after Hyjal. This takes place so many years after that it might have been beyond his ability to stay and influence; after all, given how often Azeroth is in peril post that he should STILL be around.
Delightful story, it brings an interesting take on the scarlet conflict, what I do wish is that moocluck would avoid all the deus ex machina plots, especially noticeable when it comes to freeing Reginald Windsor. It is highly unlikely that they would find him so easily as without the push in searing gorge, there is no possibility to sneak into BRM. You would need to fight too close into the mountain. Otherwise there is some plot holes, what happened with ahn'quiraj? what about Ragnaros? Without the attack on BRM, he would be given time too gather his power. What about Nefarian? His attempt at creating a new dragonflight would continue since noone tried to stop him. And why wouldn't the horde properly intervene in Tirsfal? And we can not forget the old God Yogg Saron who would grasp such an opportunity to seize might in Northrend. And at last, how they dealt with Ner'zhul was unlikely. Even in his slumber he feels the treath, and for each undead that is gone, he would have to divert less power out at can use that to further increase the merging progress. And he does notice if he is threatened quite fast, as seen with illidan back in wc3. Lk would most likely increase his fortifications and attempt to seal his frozen Kingdom. And we also have the massive blizzard that reeks trough Northrend during his slumber, a blizzard that would ruin any chance of quickly getting too icecrown as the further you move in the stronger it gets. (also noticed that the time the scarlet crusade used was a lot faster than realisticly sieging out things. War takes time). But away from the criticism I still highly enjoyed this fanfiction.
I'm gonna be honest, I thought the defeat of the Lich King was rather boring and lazy... I was expecting the Lich King to suddenly wake up, and when they ingage in combat, the Lich King would severely wound 2/3 Dreadlords, and then in a 1v1, Mal'Ganis would duel Arthas, but then just when Arthas was about to kill Mal'Ganis, either of the 2 Dreadlords would knock the Lich King off balance, critically wounding him, and then 3v1'ing the Lich King, and as killed him, they siphon Arthas and Ner'zhul's souls, and trap them in a crystal, and then sending it back to Kil'jaeden for torture. Other than that, awesome video!

There's a distinct lack of counterplay from anyone in this. I might be nitpicking but the Dreadlords seem to hold all the cards at all times and the remainder of Azeroth in this alternate look hold none. I mean, we've rooted out disguised Dreadlords for way less and you're telling me the broodmother Onyxia couldn't tell something was up with Taelan? We've got covens of Warlocks within Stormwind that can detect demons and Varimathras wanders about Stormwind unhindered and unharried? Alright, I'll take a step back here, it's not a perfect lore account and perhaps I'm just salty that magic heavy Azeroth seems to have no counter against guised Dreadlords in this setting.

No Illidari yet, though at this rate Illidanals gonna be uncontested in outlands meaning the Legions going to get a hell of a boot in it's ass once he and the Illidari get set up at Black Temple, since it seems Nixxiom is going to leave the player characters out of this, no ones going to contest Illidan.

I don't really see a problem with it. I mean, it's not like Blizzard doesn't do the same thing. Khadgar always has the answer and all the cards and we're supposed to believe he has the time to take care of what's going on in Karazhan in 7.1, as well as hijack the spotlight away from the elves in Suramar, when that really should have been their time to shine, not their time to fall into an obvious trap so Khadgar could rescue them and collect a few more "Khadgar is cool, guyzzz!! See how he's so much better and smarter and stronger than these guys you like??? Please like Khadgar!!!"-points. Besides, this is more of a summary of the overall story. If they told the real canon story this way, it would sound pretty much the same, only lame-er. "There would be some difficulty, but eventually, the Horde and Alliance would beat Nefarian, Kel'thuzad, Ragnaros, Onyxia, C'thun, Illidan, Archimonde again, Kael'thas, Kil'jaeden, Kel'thuzad and Onyxia again, Arthas, Onyxia and Nefarian and Ragnaros again, the Zandalari, Deathwing, all the Sha, Lei Shen, Garrosh, the Zandalari again, all the Warlords of Draenor, and Archimonde again again, all without breaking a sweat."
I like it, but it's a bit too heavy weighted towards the Dreadlords. There's no real suspense because I know that the Dreadlords are going to win and win again. Like against Onyxia, she's pretty damn powerful, it shouldn't have been a complete slaughter.

Réman Ádám Dreadlords are not powerful in actual combat, they are good at deceiving and manipulate. Arthas killed Mal'Ganis before becoming the Lich King, in fact even before being a Death Knight. A dragon like Onyxia would have killed him in 3 seconds
Indeed, it's quite interesting. The actual lore has had to make many compromises as the result of being part of an on-going MMO. Certain things need to remain true, and cannot change, unless by the release of a completely new MMO, rather than an expansion. For example, all races added to each faction need to remain part of that faction, no matter what events happen. The blood elves could only be in negotiations to rejoin the alliance, and something had to disrupt and stop those negotiations. The orcs who followed Garrosh could only be a percentage of all the orcs in the horde, and Orgrimmar could not fall after it's siege. The horde could not be dismantled into races all out for themselves, it needed to stay together, lest the horde no longer be a playable faction within the game. So on, and so forth. The writers are asked and required to make many compromises in order to keep certain things the way they are, with much less freedom to explore certain potential paths than they would with games like the Warcraft RTS's. Even if those paths make perfect sense, or make even more sense than the ones they need to make the story flow down instead.
Terrific writing Nix, these series basically read as if this was cannon lore from Warcraft. (And in some cases I think its better than the cannon lore).
1) Aspects would certainly notice this and do something 2) It was said that at the beginning of vanilla scourge had enough troops to wipe out all of the living in azeroth so even with light and in their side scarlet couldn't defeat them 3) it was described in Rise of the Lich king that WHOLE of northrend was battered by a snow storm caused by Lich kings dream at it was hard for even the Taunka to survive that that outside. That kind of snowstorm would have killed innummerable amount of crusaders and the last point the Frozen throne was a part of the original icecrown glacier and ice around the glacier became nearly indestrutible because of Ner'zhul so the portal should have pulled to icecrown glacier and citadel with the frozen throne. As always ALL of these what if scenarios made no sense strategically happening and you forgot the gates of ahn'giraj was opening during this time and Horde and alliance wouldn't work together qiraji would just march through kalimdor wreaking havoc conquering and because old gods are Legion main enemy Dreadlord would be more interested on stopping c'thun than LK. In sort this would cause OG victory and as we havr seen you haven't taken account enough things that happend around azeroth.
Also this campaing would have taken so much time it would Tbc time and dark portal would have been reopenen because dreadlords wouldn't have talked to kazzak and horde nor the alliance wouldn't have gone to outland Illidan would have attacked argus and the army of light would have been there also so legion might have losed nearly all their leaders and much of their forces. You need to work on to get more of the details and focus more on the timings. So in sort qiraji would rule kalimdo and azeroth would be realy close on becoming a void titan, illidari would have dismanteled the Legion and destroying any chance against void azeroth. This scenario is anyway impossible and more ilogical than anything on even knaaks warcraft books.
Also nightmare would be as strong as it was during stormrage novel after qiraji gained control of the world tree so scarlets invasion of northrend and victory imbosibble

easy the events from WoD and Legion will never exist and an era of peace between Vol'jin being warchief and Varian who learns from his son about his peaceful ways will most likely agree to reunite with the horde unless I'm missing some events just tell them
There would been no time travel to alternate Dreanor, iron horde would never have happened, Gul'dan would never been sent into our world and the legion invasion would never have happened because of Gul'dan still being in his own timeline. Would taken the legion most likely years until they returned, trying to find a new way through to Azeroth

Nixxiom maybe you can make a part 3 and 4 of this, with all the new knowledge we have about Zandalar, Broken isles, Kul'tiras... the Scarlet Crusade hasnt won yet! Lotta possibilities. I can imagine how it would go, but your videos give such a good vibe to it. We wants it!
Now THIS is an alternate universe I wouldn't mind exploring. But what about the blood elves in Quel'thalas? Any ideas for how they'd fit into all this? They'd be pretty close to the action in the Plaguelands, and after the Scarlets took Stratholme, Deatholme would be the last remaining major stronghold of Scourge dominance in Lordaeron (the subcontinent). At around Vanilla time, the blood elves would probably have just recently gotten Rommath back and gotten Silvermoon rebuilt and Eversong Woods reclaimed.
I would really like to hear what would happen if Arthas was defeated in Quel'Thalas and never fully destroyed the city, Sylvanas lives, the sunwell is still there, and whatever the next step for the high elves would be
A real good story but there is no way the Horde would be quiet during all this, especially after being pushed back and made aware of the current events. Also the reason why we where even able to breach Icecrown Citadel was because we had the Light on our side, Tirion was alive and had the Ashbringer AND we had the combined might of the Argent Crusade, the Knights of the Ebon Hold the Horde and the Alliance. The Scarlet Crusade does not have the light on their side let alone the combined might of both the Horde and the Alliance (or the Argent Crusade and Ebon Hold Knights), even if the Lich King was still dormant i call major BS on them even being able to reach Icecrown Citadel
Suddenly out of a rift, nerzhul the lich king now merged with arthas and with total control comes forth with the head of kiljaeden, giggling with glee as they sent him to thier master during his slumber, something something epic
I feel that the point of the alternate warcraft videos is to show that if anything, and I mean anything were to be different, everything will be destroyed, whether it's the legion, scourge, or old gods.
Maybe I missed something, but what about quel'thalas? Do the blood elves rejoin the Aliance, or remain neutral? Or maybe they are named traitors by the Alliance and became annihilated? My next question woud be, what is with the illidari? Marching to Northrend before the Outlands surprise the Lich King, and they can get him before he could muster enough forces and fortificate the defenses. But this give Illidan more time, and become even a greater threath to the demons and the legion than Arthas would ever be. So, what do you think about it?
You know that the Lich King is like 100x more powerful than the Dreadlords right ? He would just one shot them if they did this in WoW. Dreadlords are not that actually strong in the lore, more like that they rely on subtle actions like deceiving and manipulating.

Hauntercry Well technically they were merged from the beginning. Only Arthas didn't kill Matthias Lehner or Ner'zhul in the Mindspace yet to take the dominate role. But I think he would do that immidiatly when the Dreadlords would show up at his floor or agree with the others to stop the squarrel and first deal with the guests. And then he would kill them again.
Moar videos like this. Scarlet Crusade are my favorite offshoot of Lordaeron lore. Not steeped in the Horde/Alliance mess like Theramore, and not neutral funbuddies who win everything no problem like the Argent Crusade who lost their realism and flaws from Vanilla to become this boring pure order with no interesting internal or external obstacles. Realistic believable stuff that doesn't win everything no problem, and faces difficulties. It's such a shame that they're decimated again and again whenever Blizzard needs them.

Orcs that were led by the son of the one orc Velen was on good terms with in the end. He did "What if the Forsaken joined the Alliance", is this really THAT implausible in comparison? Or even without it, given the above reasons.
bononoz2 Disagreed, on the grounds that there is SOME prior history - admittedly not all good, but certainly connecting to the two races - between the orcs and the Draenei. That doesn't exist (at least not on the same level) with the Gilnean worgen.
Yeah, but the Draenei will never forget the orcs atrocities even if the son of Durotan is the warchief. The Blood Elves had nowhere else to go and plus they still have their doubts about the Alliance so they joined the Horde.
bononoz2 Again: maybe. Velen never struck me as the type to really blame the orcs for that, and the Draenei tend to differ to his judgement. It wouldn't have been a perfect mesh, but I could see them (if they encountered the Horde first) being able to find common ground. With the Draenei, I really do think it was just a matter of which side they encountered first. I mean, the Draenei had to clear up their own misconceptions with the elves and others thinking they were eredar initially.
I've always been a fan of what ifs and this one is enthralling. This chapter seems to be going too well for the Dreadlords and I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop and cause them a little threat. I hope the denizens of Kalimdor put up a little more of a fight. Keep up the good work.
There are two major plotholes in this one: first of, the dragons. You might think, they would sense, that something is fucky around here, same goes for Rhonin and the Kirin Tor. They sould be pretty concerned about the way, the scarlet crousade acts. Second of all, outland. There is a lot going on there, and maybe Illidan would win the fight in outland, thus the naaru and drenai would be no assistance in discovering the truth, but he would still be fighting against the legion. But in the end, I just want to see these three fuckheads die, and well... legion would win anyways, with there allways respawning troops.
To anybody saying that Arthas could beat the Dreadlords himself, the merging would still need to take WEEKS at most, not to mention that Arthas would likely be extremely weak still, as he IS just a human when you take the fancy necromancy powers away. Not to mention that he'd be sucked into a portal and Kil'jaden would rip the two of them apart. The reason they "ran away" is so the story Blizzard wanted to tell could happen.

What if some artifacts were discovered and used while Wrath of the Lich King? Artifact that could have been available at that point in time. Like: Aluneth (mage). The Silver Hand (paladin). Light's Wrath (priest). Claws of Ursoc (druid). G'Hanir the Mother tree (druid). Storm'kar the Warbreaker (warrior) I think it is very possible to think that mages, paladins, priests and druids would like to have powerful weapons like, the Ashbringer, to fight the Scourge lead by the Lich King, taking into account all the damage he has caused already.
Sooo,we're just gonna gloss over Yogg waking up and distrupting a lot of the Scarlet Crusade and the Dreadlords...since Old Gods are a lot more powerful than Dreadlords.......damnit Moocluck

This is a bit of an odd one but I feel like it could of had some interesting implications. What if the Council of Six had stopped Garithos from imprisoning Kael'thas and the Blood Elves and in turn not driven them away from the humans?
Do the True Story of Malfurion or Garrosh since he's the only expansion boss you haven't done yet Also what if the Night elves and worgen repelled the orcs and forsaken in the end of the worgen starting experience I can't believe I'm suggesting this but... what if Blizzard had actually gone with the Mongrel Horde instead of the Iron Horde?

Indeed, it's quite interesting. The actual lore has had to make many compromises as the result of being part of an on-going MMO. Certain things need to remain true, and cannot change, unless by the release of a completely new MMO, rather than an expansion. For example, all races added to each faction need to remain part of that faction, no matter what events happen. The blood elves could only be in negotiations to rejoin the alliance, and something had to disrupt and stop those negotiations. The orcs who followed Garrosh could only be a percentage of all the orcs in the horde, and Orgrimmar could not fall after it's siege. The horde could not be dismantled into races all out for themselves, it needed to stay together, lest the horde no longer be a playable faction within the game. So on, and so forth. The writers are asked and required to make many compromises in order to keep certain things the way they are, with much less freedom to explore certain potential paths than they would with games like the Warcraft RTS's. Even if those paths make perfect sense, or make even more sense than the ones they need to make the story flow down instead.
It would be funny if the Dreadlords actually start enjoying being Human.

1) Aspects would certainly notice this and do something 2) It was said that at the beginning of vanilla scourge had enough troops to wipe out all of the living in azeroth so even with light and in their side scarlet couldn't defeat them 3) it was described in Rise of the Lich king that WHOLE of northrend was battered by a snow storm caused by Lich kings dream at it was hard for even the Taunka to survive that that outside. That kind of snowstorm would have killed innummerable amount of crusaders and the last point the Frozen throne was a part of the original icecrown glacier and ice around the glacier became nearly indestrutible because of Ner'zhul so the portal should have pulled to icecrown glacier and citadel with the frozen throne. As always ALL of these what if scenarios made no sense strategically happening and you forgot the gates of ahn'giraj was opening during this time and Horde and alliance wouldn't work together qiraji would just march through kalimdor wreaking havoc conquering and because old gods are Legion main enemy Dreadlord would be more interested on stopping c'thun than LK. In sort this would cause OG victory and as we havr seen you haven't taken account enough things that happend around azeroth.
Also this campaing would have taken so much time it would Tbc time and dark portal would have been reopenen because dreadlords wouldn't have talked to kazzak and horde nor the alliance wouldn't have gone to outland Illidan would have attacked argus and the army of light would have been there also so legion might have losed nearly all their leaders and much of their forces. You need to work on to get more of the details and focus more on the timings. So in sort qiraji would rule kalimdo and azeroth would be realy close on becoming a void titan, illidari would have dismanteled the Legion and destroying any chance against void azeroth. This scenario is anyway impossible and more ilogical than anything on even knaaks warcraft books.
Also nightmare would be as strong as it was during stormrage novel after qiraji gained control of the world tree so scarlets invasion of northrend and victory imbosibble

There would been no time travel to alternate Dreanor, iron horde would never have happened, Gul'dan would never been sent into our world and the legion invasion would never have happened because of Gul'dan still being in his own timeline. Would taken the legion most likely years until they returned, trying to find a new way through to Azeroth

Now THIS is an alternate universe I wouldn't mind exploring. But what about the blood elves in Quel'thalas? Any ideas for how they'd fit into all this? They'd be pretty close to the action in the Plaguelands, and after the Scarlets took Stratholme, Deatholme would be the last remaining major stronghold of Scourge dominance in Lordaeron (the subcontinent).
At around Vanilla time, the blood elves would probably have just recently gotten Rommath back and gotten Silvermoon rebuilt and Eversong Woods reclaimed.
I would really like to hear what would happen if Arthas was defeated in Quel'Thalas and never fully destroyed the city, Sylvanas lives, the sunwell is still there, and whatever the next step for the high elves would be
A real good story but there is no way the Horde would be quiet during all this, especially after being pushed back and made aware of the current events. Also the reason why we where even able to breach Icecrown Citadel was because we had the Light on our side, Tirion was alive and had the Ashbringer AND we had the combined might of the Argent Crusade, the Knights of the Ebon Hold the Horde and the Alliance. The Scarlet Crusade does not have the light on their side let alone the combined might of both the Horde and the Alliance (or the Argent Crusade and Ebon Hold Knights), even if the Lich King was still dormant i call major BS on them even being able to reach Icecrown Citadel

Maybe I missed something, but what about quel'thalas? Do the blood elves rejoin the Aliance, or remain neutral? Or maybe they are named traitors by the Alliance and became annihilated?
My next question woud be, what is with the illidari? Marching to Northrend before the Outlands surprise the Lich King, and they can get him before he could muster enough forces and fortificate the defenses. But this give Illidan more time, and become even a greater threath to the demons and the legion than Arthas would ever be. So, what do you think about it?

You know that the Lich King is like 100x more powerful than the Dreadlords right ? He would just one shot them if they did this in WoW. Dreadlords are not that actually strong in the lore, more like that they rely on subtle actions like deceiving and manipulating.

Hauntercry Well technically they were merged from the beginning. Only Arthas didn't kill Matthias Lehner or Ner'zhul in the Mindspace yet to take the dominate role. But I think he would do that immidiatly when the Dreadlords would show up at his floor or agree with the others to stop the squarrel and first deal with the guests.
And then he would kill them again.

Moar videos like this. Scarlet Crusade are my favorite offshoot of Lordaeron lore. Not steeped in the Horde/Alliance mess like Theramore, and not neutral funbuddies who win everything no problem like the Argent Crusade who lost their realism and flaws from Vanilla to become this boring pure order with no interesting internal or external obstacles.
Realistic believable stuff that doesn't win everything no problem, and faces difficulties. It's such a shame that they're decimated again and again whenever Blizzard needs them.

Krashes Orcs that finally broke free of the shackles of their demonic enslavement and rediscovered their shamanistic origins. Orcs that were led by the son of the one orc Velen was on good terms with in the end.
He did "What if the Forsaken joined the Alliance", is this really THAT implausible in comparison? Or even without it, given the above reasons.
thats probably as likely as the worgen joining the Horde.
bononoz2 Disagreed, on the grounds that there is SOME prior history - admittedly not all good, but certainly connecting to the two races - between the orcs and the Draenei. That doesn't exist (at least not on the same level) with the Gilnean worgen.
Yeah, but the Draenei will never forget the orcs atrocities even if the son of Durotan is the warchief. The Blood Elves had nowhere else to go and plus they still have their doubts about the Alliance so they joined the Horde.
bononoz2 Again: maybe. Velen never struck me as the type to really blame the orcs for that, and the Draenei tend to differ to his judgement. It wouldn't have been a perfect mesh, but I could see them (if they encountered the Horde first) being able to find common ground.
With the Draenei, I really do think it was just a matter of which side they encountered first. I mean, the Draenei had to clear up their own misconceptions with the elves and others thinking they were eredar initially.

I've always been a fan of what ifs and this one is enthralling. This chapter seems to be going too well for the Dreadlords and I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop and cause them a little threat. I hope the denizens of Kalimdor put up a little more of a fight. Keep up the good work.
There are two major plotholes in this one:
first of, the dragons. You might think, they would sense, that something is fucky around here, same goes for Rhonin and the Kirin Tor. They sould be pretty concerned about the way, the scarlet crousade acts.
Second of all, outland. There is a lot going on there, and maybe Illidan would win the fight in outland, thus the naaru and drenai would be no assistance in discovering the truth, but he would still be fighting against the legion.
But in the end, I just want to see these three fuckheads die, and well... legion would win anyways, with there allways respawning troops.
Do another one, or two, of these. I like them.

To anybody saying that Arthas could beat the Dreadlords himself, the merging would still need to take WEEKS at most, not to mention that Arthas would likely be extremely weak still, as he IS just a human when you take the fancy necromancy powers away. Not to mention that he'd be sucked into a portal and Kil'jaden would rip the two of them apart. The reason they "ran away" is so the story Blizzard wanted to tell could happen.

dan forrester well yog didnt brake when we confronted him but still had a influence. Now in this reality Brann will not find Ulduar so Yog will get free
dan forrester He was broken out before we ever got there. He was just still weak when brann discovered him and that allowed us to go in and stop him before he had the chance to break completely free.

Too bad Blizzard has long forgotten this style of story telling. Its telling when I want to listen to this more than most of contemporary lore.
You know... if and when there is a WC4, I would love to see an expansion focusing on a story like this. Called something like: "Warcraft 4: Shifting Sands." Cause the sands of time thing... and this would be in an alternate timeline.

Artifact that could have been available at that point in time. Like: Aluneth (mage). The Silver Hand (paladin). Light's Wrath (priest). Claws of Ursoc (druid). G'Hanir the Mother tree (druid). Storm'kar the Warbreaker (warrior)
I think it is very possible to think that mages, paladins, priests and druids would like to have powerful weapons like, the Ashbringer, to fight the Scourge lead by the Lich King, taking into account all the damage he has caused already.
I think Mal'ganis would accidentaly alert The Lich King to his actions leading to a full merger of Arthas and Ner'zhul

This is a bit of an odd one but I feel like it could of had some interesting implications. What if the Council of Six had stopped Garithos from imprisoning Kael'thas and the Blood Elves and in turn not driven them away from the humans?
