Kiss on the cheek for Patti. A good Irish Girl. Eddie Mahoney, an Irish Rock n Roll, NYC cop from Queens & Long Island. Rock with Eddie this weekend. RIP Eddie
For those who experienced the 80’s there’s no words to perfectly describe this ERA. Every part of the 80’s from the music, the clothing, the hair, the Cars, the stores, everything about the 80’s was perfect. No one was in a hurry, and technology was simple and fun if that makes sense. it was just awesome. I hope when I die I can have a chance to relive my life from 1982-1989.
I took an extra lap around my neighborhood before pulling into my driveway just so I could hear the rest of this wonderful jam perfectly conveying exactly how I felt after a particularly stellar date with my girlfriend. I don't know how Eddie managed to expertly capture that feeling in fewer than four minutes' worth of rock song, but he did it so well that it still fits the feeling nearly forty years on. Severe respect to the Money Man himself. Let the younger generations find this and share that incredible feeling. May his work endure effortlessly.
He sang in may and all his greatest hits and played the sax he was not feeling well but he saw all his fans get excited for him to perform what a great man.
Well for me the music was great the movies were great but my life wasn’t oh so great!! Picked on and bullied at school and on the bus, but generally it wasn’t as bad as how kids nowadays get bullied!!
I graduated in 1985. Besides the birth of my son in 93 High School was the best time of my life. I had 3 great friends we were always together doing something fun. It's sad how life happens and tears you apart. We would hang out at the skating rink listening to songs just like this one and chasing the girls. I need a time machine to take me back to 1983.
Im 43 yrs and have always and will always play nothing but the amazing incredible mighty 80s! That's all i play when i get up in the morning and hop into my car to go to work, i start with A-Ha - Take On Me and end with Eddie Money going back home from work! From New Wave to 80s Hair Metal rock to 80s Freestyle to Oldskool Hip-Hop to everything in between! And I will NEVER EVER get rid of my kick ass 15 Ghettoblasters with a giant suite case full but nothing but 80s music tapes !

I'd forgot how great this song is. You will be greatly missed but you will never be forgotten by the millions of fans who love your music. I'm clearly getting old because I keep losing my childhood favorites. RIP and enjoy rocking out on those streets of gold.

I'm so jealous of all of you that got to be falling in love when this came out. I've been hearing this song my whole life never gave it to much attention, definitely loved the song. But wow this shit hits my fucking heart so fucking hard now that I met her.
A totally random memory of this song for me: In August 2002, I was working in a grocery store in Texas and I was working the super-early opening cash office shift (5 a.m. -1:30 p.m.) I remember this song coming over the store radio early on, before the store was even open for business for the day and I just remember thinking, "Such a great song, I haven't heard this in a long time!" Now, I just always think of that whenever I hear this song for whatever reason. RIP Eddie. Thanks for the music. It was obvious that you loved being a rocker and a performer so very much and did to your final days. Rock on.
Lovely share & so relatable with many a great artists of the '70/'80 era. No radio for me since 2007. These days, such upbeat songs are used against us to make us stay longer in grocery chains or malls. That's where they need to play the rubbish so we leave.
I really miss this guy. He just sang some good honest, fun rock and roll. It was perfect for the time and it’s still great now. I remember seeing his name on the marquee at Sunset Station Casino in Henderson Nevada back in 1999 when I lived there. I wanted to go see him, but I was a broke single guy in town and didn’t have anyone to go with. I should have scraped up the money and gone even if it was by myself.
My favorite Eddie Money song..My heart always flutters with so much love and joy when he sings the last part, "Baby, how you do it...There must be something to it....Babe now it's gotta be love..The magic's in your hand...You made me understand...I know, I know it's gotta be love….It's gotta be love..(Love) and my life's looking up (love)"... I love when he crouches down at 2:58 because I can feel the passion he has... Thinking of you Eddie and sending healing, loving energy to you and your family
His voice is undeniably cool as hell. The main guitar riff and bass line in this song is so simple yet so unbelievably good. One of my favorite 80s rock songs ever
One of the best voices rock has had. He and Paul Rodgers, raspy, bluesy, so much better than the likes of Rod Stewart. These guys were overlooked, as are so many diamonds in the rough.
May you rest in peace.🙏 Thank you for giving me the best gift ever, your music will live on forevermore. My deepest condolences to your wife and children. You can sing now forever in paradise.🙏 Sadly missed, but never forgotten. 😥 Your music Legacy will live on.♥️💚💜💖💙💛

You were a part of the soundtrack of my life...probably the same for most of us people who were born in the 70's. So underappreciated and amazing. RIP and keep rockin' on the other side.
He performed live in Simi Valley a couple years ago and I couldn’t believe how amazing his voice and stage presence was. He sang with his two kids, wore a Dodger jersey and sounded like a god damn angel. I couldn’t get enough. I feel blessed to have seen him live. RIP.
I told my girlfriend back then (1983) I loved her for the first time to this song. 40 years later, I am still in love with her.
Good for you! I only got 23 years in
You should probably marry her having a girlfriend for 40 years must be getting old😂

RIP Eddie Money, a class act all the way, who paid his dues. He deserves to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Vote for him!🎷🎷🎷
FYI Eddie was a NYC transit cop before he was a rocka roller, yeh boy!
The R&R Hall is a joke. The list of legit rock and rollers that are not in could fill a separate Hall of Fame.

@Buford Montgomery exactly. was born in '81, and thus I just missed the party that was the eighties.
As successful as he was, I think he was still under rated and appreciated. He had pretty hot soul to him.

Ooh, somethin's got a hold on me now
It's a feelin', burnin' like a lover on fire
Hold me tight, baby
Don't leave me by myself tonight
'Cause I don't think I can make it through the night
I think I'm in love
And my life's lookin' up
I think I'm in love
'Cause I can't get enough (no, no, no)
I think I'm in love
It's gotta be love
It surrounds me
Over me like a sea of madness
It controls me
Makes me do all the things I do for you
You're on my mind, babe
Thinkin' about you now
And I don't know if I'll make it through the night
I think I'm in love
And my life's lookin' up
I think I'm in love
'Cause I can't get enough (no, no, no)
I think I'm in love
It's gotta be love
Baby, how you do it
There must be somethin' to it
Babe I know it's gotta be love
{Oh, with magic in your hand}?
You made me understand
I know, I know it's gotta be love
It's gotta be love
(Love) and my life's lookin' up (love)

You were a part of the soundtrack of my life...probably the same for most of us people who were born in the 70's. So underappreciated and amazing. RIP and keep rockin' on the other side.
Seeexxxeeessssttttt voice EVER!!!!!!!😍😍
I told Eddie Money himself that this is going to be my wedding song..so now I have to do it!
RIP Moneyman. I still do a mean air guitar to this
I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE the guitar intro to this ❤❤
Eddie Money... Still can't get his jams outta my mind every now and then...
You can't go wrong with Eddie money. This is real music. His songs are some of the best that you can find.
Love the heavy metal tones..
He performed live in Simi Valley a couple years ago and I couldn’t believe how amazing his voice and stage presence was. He sang with his two kids, wore a Dodger jersey and sounded like a god damn angel. I couldn’t get enough. I feel blessed to have seen him live. RIP.
Hello Nikki, how are you doing, hope I can have your email address,so we can text and get to know more about each other,if you don’t mind!
You are blessed I never got to see him.
Love Eddie and especially this song!
