      That was pretty funny hearing it out loud. Like if the Gundam was actually on Side 3, Zeon would celebrate Christmas early as the Federation just handed them their ticket to winning the war. Think of all the advancements in MS technology they’ll make if they have the Gundam in their possession. Char will get one painted red with all the limiters taken off. Rambal Ral may get one painted blue. And the third one will be used to study and reverse engineer its weapons. Basically speeding up the process of making the Gelgoog or at least a Zaku that can use beam rifles. Whatever comes out will be given to the Black Tri-Stars.

      @@TheHiddenBoss I think that one of the What Ifs in Ghiran's Greed is What if Zeon captured the Gundam? I haven't played the games myself because I just simply haven't had the means to do so, but I remember there being a Zeon Gundam on the fandom wiki. There is also a Casval Gundam where Amuro dies and Char defects to take his place and yes, this means we get a Red Gundam.
      Perhaps a future video can go into the "What ifs" of the games, but for now I am just going to rewatch the lore videos and look up random scenes from various series.

      I wanna see a more Halo Legends style anthology. Just, short stories of various aces or pilots or ships or even civilians during the OYW, maybe with another series of a later conflict as well.
      We SORT of got this with Gundam Evolve, but only sort of. But yeah. Short stories that don't really impact the canon in seriously messed up ways(We're gonna ignore Spartan 1337 for this one), but that sort of work to flesh out the universe a bit.

    I actually like the canon/non canon controversy about the full armor gundam.. it perfectly represents the different interest groups in the EF.. so it might have been build and completet by one division going around the back of some big shot or something alike

    • @gamester512
      @gamester512 2 роки тому +2

      Or, alternatively, the incomplete Full Armor Gundam and/or it's blueprints could have somehow fallen into the hands of a Mercenary or other militarized organization (such as through theft) that then had the machine fully completed, and possibly even modified to maintain it's improved armor and firepower without the loss of speed and agility, and they then fielded it at their "Ace" unit that was used by their commander and/or most skilled pilot. And because the EF would have found a lapse in security like the loss of the FA Gundam humiliating, they could have completely disavowed any knowledge or involvement with it's development and construction, while also wanting to find and destroy the unit to add credence to their lie.
      Hell, that might even make for an entertaining kind of story in Gundam, where the "protagonists" may not be entirely morally-upstanding, and may even have fluctuating loyalties (like with Mercenaries, their loyalties would shift with whomever was employing them at that particular moment, so that the enemies faced by the FA Gundam in one battle could end up being the FA Gundam's *allies* in the next). Or maybe even have the Mercenary outfit actually *be* the most morally-upstanding people in the setting. I know Tekkadan could technically be considered a mercenary organization, but I would argue that they actually *aren't* (or, if they are, they do not remain as such for very long, since they become firmly allied with Teiwaz fairly early on, and they remain so for the entire run of the show).

    Again there is the Mobile Worker Units used in Gundam Wing at the Winner Family Resource Satellite. I don't know if they are the same already mentioned Worker Leos but they appear I believe only once in the entire series. Let's see if I can find them in the series. Ah Ha! Found them. Episode 21 of Wing Grief Stricken Quatre. They appear at 10:56 mark. They are basically a sort of a set of Mobile Suit-like legs with an exposed cockpit above that then with some tools and such in arm-like attachments on the side. There is a good Black and White Lineart for these units over at the Gundam Wing page on MAHQ. Also, speaking of Gundam Wing we also have the Maganac Mobile Suits, but I think these fall under your mentioned category in this video.

    thanks for updating the question of civilian owned Mobile Suit.
    regarding to your closing note about the differences between civilians and non civilians is easy.
    Civilians make a living due to work in non combatant activities.
    It doesn't make a change if you call yourself "personal protection service" or "mercenary" or "army" or "pirate", if you make a living in a way that includes combat, you are not a civilian.

    I remember reading back in the day that 7 RX-78-1 units were initially built, with 3 being upgraded to 78-2, traveling to side 7, and only one unit surviving with the others almost entirely lost aside from a few parts that made it on the White Base before they escaped. Of the remaining 4, the units created were the Heavy Gundam (modified from the first FA test type), the G04 and G05, and the Mudrock, with the Alex being a completely new machine created without using the original 7. But if there were 8, that does give an option for the RX-78FA for Thunderbolt. RX-78-7 was NOT deployed during the OYW, first being deployed in 0081 (Senki was created as a canon entry for the 30th anniversary of Gundam).
    As for Civilian MS, it's worth pointing to the colony of Fardain in Gundam AGE, where we also see a really cool civilian MS with a heat shovel and pickaxe. Technically, all of the machines in Fardain were considered civilian... Okay, AGE was just absolutely PACKED with civilian suits.

    I'm not sure of some of the suits mentioned. But I do have to say that just because a machine maybe a worker unit doesn't necessarily mean it is civilian. Militaries tend to modify machines into engineering vehicles. I'm sighting the Leo as I'm not sure if it was truly civilian, but could be wrong. Other suits could fall in to the same category though.

      Ex-S would have an advantage in long range with better sensor and beam smart gun.
      Not to mention it has incom and reflector incom which increase a wide range of angle of attack, and I field generator which nullify beam rifle.
      But at mid-range, FA-ZZ does have a tons of missiles for bombardment which EX-S have low defense for and the Hi-Mega Cannon may overload the I field.
      As for Close Range, FA-ZZ have a more powerful beam saber with a longer reach.
      For Support Systems, FA-ZZ have the bio-sensor system which is only able to be used by NT and EX-S have the ALICE as control support, tipping in EX-S favor.
      As long as EX-S able to keep its distance, it would have a higher chance of winning. As for close combat, ZZ will over power EX-S.

    I love how the original series showed a natural evolution of Gundams from RX78 to MKII, Zeta and finally ZZ. And then other writers are like: Nope, before Zeta, there were actually a few dozen ultra secret and super advanced Gundams that we never saw or heard about in Zeta. Like come on. Too much retconning. It's like saying that between WWI tanks and WWII tanks, we actually had a few ultra secret Abrams or t90's see some conflict, only to then transition into WWI era tanks.

    • @yeetyateyote5570
      @yeetyateyote5570 4 роки тому +6

      Well, we DO see advanced shit pop up IRL for either single prototype or ultra limited production stuff only to be replaced by inferior versions later on. It happens because more often than not prototype advanced shit is hella expensive, fragile, or not feasible to mass produce. Take something like the G11 for example. Ultra futuristic, lightweight, blistering fire rate, superior caseless ammo, compact. But ridiculously internally complex, and costly to make- that’s why modern carbines, while not more “advanced” than it, are being chosen over something like that.
      But I do know what you’re getting at, and I do somewhat agree.

    Is there an in-universe explanation why the Minovsky Fusion Reactor in early MS seem to go nuclear? 'Cause real-life nuclear reactors, even fission ones, don't actually "go nuclear" when damaged or maybe it's because of Minovsky particle shenanigans

    • @LunaS043
      @LunaS043 4 роки тому +10

      That would be because they are Fusion reactors. Uncontrolled Fusion is far more explosive than Fission. What we have in real life is Fission and it is used to heat water up into steam to turn turbines, by Uranium 235 being struck by Neutrons and breaking down into two lighter elements some neutrons and releasing energy in the form of heat. So when a Nuclear reaction goes out of control in those kinds of plants. They tend to meltdown, which does cause an explosion of steam from the the rapid expansion of heat in the water that the Uranium fuel rods are kept in to try to control the reaction.
      Where as Fusion combines 2 hydrogen atoms into helium and releases GIGANTIC amounts of energy that usually always results in explosions. Unless controlled. Think The sun. The sun is just hundreds of millions of fusion bomb explosions kept in check by gravity. And these reactions can generate massive amounts of heat in the millions of degrees kelvin.
      Which is why when Mobile suit Reactors are damaged it destabilized the delicate balance in the reactor and causes the fusion reaction to instantly rage out of control and Kaboom.

      While I won't deny the idea of a MS Aerobatic Demonstration team being a possibility in any of the stories or time lines, I don't think they would've. Part of the purpose of Aerobatic teams like the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds are to show how amazing their planes really are, and inspire awe in the crowd while sparking patriotic pride and a possibility of them enlisting, Mobile Suits are already awe inspiring even when standing still because of the scale of raw power they're capable of, plus the news coverage they get when they're fighting near a Colony side, and their major influence on warfare. In all honesty, you really don't need to paint up a MS and pilot it about in a big triangle formation, everyone already knows the shock and aw of a MS unit
