A gun that can rival Still Hunt and probably Euphony... That's 3 special ammo weapons with amazing damage output. If Bungie is calling in a special ammo weapon as DPS meta, I'm honestly all in for that. Since Titan's don't have as much fun with either Euphony or Still Hunt, this gun might be the go to pick then. Put on Second Chance gauntlets for 2 throwing shields which will weaken as well and you should be good to go on some solid utility and damage

What OP is talking about is using the shurikens to proc "Saint's Fury" which is the gun damage portion of the perk, and comboing it with whisper of impetus to auto reload it
its melee damage increase is functionally identical to 1-2p, but it has a much longer duration at 2.7s vs 1-2p's 1.2s, long enough to let you boost shoulder charge with it once more! yippee EDIT: since people in the replies seem confused, 1-2p does not boost the following melees; bastion wont either. Titan: Consecration, Flechette, Thunderclap, Shield Throw. Warlock: Literally everything that isnt Chain Lightning, tragic. The recent nerf to shoulder charge was that you now can’t slide then shoot 1-2 punch shotty then charge but a longer buff timer may give time to generate the shoulder charge, is what the above comment is saying. I just don’t know so I’m wondering
If you use song of flame at the start of the damage phase you get around 90% dr so you don’t need anyone to keep you alive. Also song of flame states that kinetic and solar weapons apply scorch so you can increase your damage even further with scorch and the eventual ignitions
I never used it before and I haven't had a good one-two punch shoty so I got a few 100s kills on it lol. Seemed really good on grapple hunter with no navigator
Also something to note is that if your mele applies scorch (celestial fire, incinerator snap, knife trick, hammer strike, base mele with roaring flame, etc.) Each scorch tick will refresh the saint's fury buff
I know with one two punch that when you are using lairs handshake one two punch goes from a 2x multiplier to a much lower multiplier. Does saints fists work like this or no?

@@yourbrojohno I don't think that grapple melee is the way, just charged melee at the end of depleting your magazine, and since that you are using strand you could also equip Thread of ascent to instantly reload bastion with just using grapple on the floor.

fyi bastion does buff grapple punch damage, so on hunter on a close range boss you can loop bastion shots and grapple punches thanks to grapple point and do some crazy damage. Been pairing it with assassins cowl so i gain some safety after i nuke a champ or major with the combo.
If so then you could use navigator to shoot a grapple point. Swap to bastion. Then on prismatic pop transcendence, smoke boss for weaken, spam grenade on boss, have 5% prismatic bonus damage and dr, and have class item with calibans/ synthocepts. You should it works? Idk how that wouldn’t be better known by now
@wethepeople8280 this is less burst because you get less melees out, so less damage. That's why it isn't known. It's worse. Also you don't weaken with a grenade for 15% when tether gives 30%.

I mean, you lose your melee and grenade energywhen you do a swap like that dont you? I never do big swaps like this myself so dont know all the details. Id rather hit them woth a dagger for sever so they hit me for less, then fire the fusion, then grapple the ground near by to get the point and punch, then go at fusion grapple combo

An idea I have for the catalyst would be “saints fists last longer and can stack up to 3 times” at times 3 it would be a 5x melee dmage buff instead of a 2x normally and I wanted it to last longer so I can reliably use it with something like shoulder charge, Shiver Strike, or Thunderclap.

Out of curiosity, do you think that Bastion now rivals Conditional Finality as the close range damage king for special weapons? Especially since they’re both anti-unstoppable. I think this would be the perfect pairing for wishfull ignorance, you should be able to regen a melee charge every few shots and contine proccing the buff while also having a good dmg melee that this can buff. That its to say on hunter with combination blow liars handshake or synthos this could also go hard.
synthos and 1-2 do fully stack with each other, its synthos and banner that don't. Liar's is the exotic that nerfs the effectiveness of 1-2 punch, but you'd have a pretty hard time performing a cross counter if you have to fire a whole bastion shot between each melee, so even if they do stack perfectly it's much less feasible and probably worse to do so in that case
I like that each class has a special exotic weapon that benefits from being on said class. Still hunt gets Celestial, Euphony gets Strand Warlock, and now seemingly Bastion will benefit most from a BoW Titan. I'll say that Bastion will probably benefit most when paired with the new Wishful Ignorance to keep charging melee's to feed back into Bastions perks.
oh wow, this buff flew completely under my radar. I don't think I've had Bastion out of the vault in years. I've been running a prismatic warlock with a variety of incandescent weapons and a special in my primary slot (been addicted to the Call rocket sidearm lately) but I think I might have to slot this in for funzies now :) The gun intrinsically stuns unstoppable champions too... so a boss/yellow bar melting weapon that covers a champion too. I saw a clip not too long ago of someone who was able to stack Saint's Fury and Peregrine Greaves with Shield Bash, leading to a ~600K hit. This person said it also works with the other shoulder charges, notably Hammer Strike, which is available on Prismatic and can hence recharge multiple times during a damage phase with Transcendence. From what I saw in that post, the timing is very tight, but doable. Could someone test this and see if it could be done over the course of an entire damage phase?
Llama mentioned consecration towards the end, but only said that it increases gun damage. Does anyone know if bastion buffs consecration damage? Been wanting to use it that way, haven't had a chance to test. Intrinsic unstop weapon w/ range that acts like a 1-2 punch weapon for consecration sounds wild.

curious how the dps is on a boss you can melee, alternating shots and neutral melees, like 2nd encounter SE or the knight boss in GOTD. Or what is the ideal mix of shots and melees.
Used it to get through the legend campaign solo. Absolutely chomps the subjugators. Not so good for Tormentors but it was easy enough to swap to forerunner so no big deal.
So about the ranged melee: It might be more complicated, specifically with Threaded Spike for Hunters. I've been noticing that the stasis melee doesn't proc the new Dawn weapon origin trait to reload the mag HOWEVER Threaded Spike will proc it *every time it bounces and hits another enemy*. I didn't really look too much into it but hearing you bring up the ranged melee stuff here reminded me of that and I wonder if Threaded Spike is coded to act as a powered close range melee despite being ranged. Could be the case for 1 2 punch as well.
hunter powered melees usually work with 1-2-P even if they're ranged; all the solar knives do, I think threaded spike does, not sure about withering blade
Bastion is hella good now, on the consecration build, use bastion with titan strand melee for single target dps....and tbh you shoulda tested on titan....you missed out on half the weapon lol but good to see a bastion vid at all
Idk what it is but bastion could be one of the best guns in the game and I probably wouldn't use it because it feels so slow and ass to use, for me personally.
Bastion pairs well with Prismatic hunter. Grapple melee + snare bomb + khepris sting. Grapple + khepris will proc the snare bomb on impact, and both melees will stack doubling damage plus apply both void weaken and strand unravel. Saints fists will double it again and proc the trench barrel part. You can then dodge with threaded spector, gain your melee back and leave an explosive clone which you can then take advantage of the 1-2 punched part of Bastion with your khepris snare melee.
FINALLY SOMEONE IS TAKING A LOOK. I noticed it did nearly 5k damage per pellet and it shoots 21 pellets, so big damage. THANK YOU FOR TAKING A LOOK

It does kinda hit like a truck to be fair, hard to gauge but it's definitely a lot better now compared to before!

Used it to get through the legend campaign solo. Absolutely chomps the subjugators. Not so good for Tormentors but it was easy enough to swap to forerunner so no big deal.
So about the ranged melee: It might be more complicated, specifically with Threaded Spike for Hunters. I've been noticing that the stasis melee doesn't proc the new Dawn weapon origin trait to reload the mag HOWEVER Threaded Spike will proc it *every time it bounces and hits another enemy*.
I didn't really look too much into it but hearing you bring up the ranged melee stuff here reminded me of that and I wonder if Threaded Spike is coded to act as a powered close range melee despite being ranged. Could be the case for 1 2 punch as well.
hunter powered melees usually work with 1-2-P even if they're ranged; all the solar knives do, I think threaded spike does, not sure about withering blade

I didn't test but I know that Winter's Guile DOES work, but as far as OTP goes I don't think it does, it's a projectile melee so probably not.
How much does the charge time decrease with the buff active?
Bastion has been at my side for a while, having a very strong Fusion thats always Unstoppable is too fun to pass up in content with Champions for me

Bastion is hella good now, on the consecration build, use bastion with titan strand melee for single target dps....and tbh you shoulda tested on titan....you missed out on half the weapon lol but good to see a bastion vid at all

Im just saying there is a fragment on prismatic that give you radiant for 5 second when you melee... thats even more damage
Idk what it is but bastion could be one of the best guns in the game and I probably wouldn't use it because it feels so slow and ass to use, for me personally.
I’ve never used bastion so apologies for being stupid but why does it say it’s got a 5 round mag but in game it’s only 4?
For the Punch hunter this thing is bonkers. I used it this morning and it hits like a freight train alongside combo blow x3

I used this thing throughout the whole campaign and my mates said I was crazy til they actually saw the perk
Bastion pairs well with Prismatic hunter.
Grapple melee + snare bomb + khepris sting.
Grapple + khepris will proc the snare bomb on impact, and both melees will stack doubling damage plus apply both void weaken and strand unravel. Saints fists will double it again and proc the trench barrel part. You can then dodge with threaded spector, gain your melee back and leave an explosive clone which you can then take advantage of the 1-2 punched part of Bastion with your khepris snare melee.
Tried to use it in crucible last week, it does not spawn with special ammo after death in crucible ☹️

My thoughts exactly. Song of flame with star eaters Necrotic/HOIL, transcendence, only use melees to reproc shots. It should bake.
