I love these making these trays. you are such a great instructor, nice and slow and very good explanations. I also made your table runner - so fun, quick and easy. Thanks so much.
Thank you for the very clear instructions! These will be perfect for my festival booths this summer! I think I’ll try putting the corners together with plastic snaps so they lay flat in transit!
Hello! I hope you have had a fun and creative day. I just got to sit down to watch your video. I just want you to know that I enjoy your channel content and always find it interesting. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Thank you for sharing your video and your talent.
Such a great project. I will be making a few baskets to give to my mother in law for her 91st birthday next week. I will also make some for me to keep by my bedside.
I can see an Americana themed fabric tray that corrals paper napkins for casual al fresco dining. This is a great childrens' sewing project using Christmas fabrics. They like to honor their teachers, librarians, and lunch ladies with gifts.
Hi Laura - I LOVE THESE TRAYS they are so handy and I have made many, the same way as you. However, I did make one slightly different for my Husband, who LOVES doing Jigsaw Puzzles. Instead of sewing the little corners together, I put snaps on the inside of the corners, so once he had finished keeping his jigsaw pieces in them that he had sorted out, he can un-snap them and lay them flat in the box. LOVE your videos as always, and am looking forward to your next one. Take care, Linda (from England) x
what a great scrap buster! When I iron the corners (like in last pic) I put a clip on them and let it sit while they cool off. Holds the shape perfectly!
Such a quick and easy project! While I didn't actually time how long it took, I would estimate it at 20 minutes or thereabouts. I'm fairly certain most of that was spent rummaging in the scrap box to find just the right fabrics. I used 9" squares and a slightly smaller piece of interfacing (should probably have used two as per the instructions, but I'm happy with how it holds up), and stitched it with 1-1/2" sides. Perfect for Mr O to toss his keys in when he gets home from work. Thank you for the awesome tutuorial!
Thank you so much for this video! I have made several of these in varying sizes to organize my craft and sewing room. They make awesome drawer dividers!
These are so cute. Your explanation was so wonderful. That purple ink snowed me exactly how to trim the corners. I have made so many of your ten inch gift bags! Now I can add these.
Love the way you are so detailed. Thank you for this. I am going to try and make this today. I bought templates to help but I have not used them yet as I am intimidated. Look forward to more tutorials from you. Thank you again!!
This is great, thank you. Would it be doable to somehow use snaps/hooks, etc., for the corners so it could open up flat and how would you go about that for it to be solid? I think they would make good nesting gifts with the option of both styles. I have lots of fabric leftovers and really need to use the up. Always enjoy your videos, thank you.
I'm a big fan of Laura's and have featured her tutorials on my blog, so I hope this isn't overstepping. In response to your query about a flat version, I have one here that's done up with buttons: esheepdesigns.blogspot.com/2017/12/free-patterntutorial-flat-pack-travel.html
This fabric trays are SO CUTE!!! I think this is an easy sewing project to sew for beginners . The way you presented...makes it so easy..... I am interested on recycling my empty spools of thread. I want to know if you could construct a SPOOL DOLL. I do not seem to find instructions on how to assemble it......I see them in the internet but not being done. only advertised....'If you could come up with this DOLL would be appreciated. Thank you. greetings from US A Florida....... Josefina Mccarty

Definitely, you could. In fact, that would make it so much more versatile and great for storing when not in use.

I like to make them and use thinsulate heat proof ,and use them to set a hot dish on the table , great to keep your vegetables ,or potatoes hot longer
Love this idea. I'm starting on my fourth one. I'm using them to hold seasonal coaters that I've made.
So easy & adorable!
Great tutorial!!! ❤️
Beautiful
Also if using the tiny box for hand sewing you could stick your tools in the space in the corner flaps.
How cute!!
Lovely.
Also give an idea on how to pack them for sell purpose
I have made these to hold my wonder clips.
Thanks a lot! 🌺🌸
I bought internet facing and there’s no sticky side for you to ironing on the fabric what do you do with it?

Does the glue on the fusible mess up the needle? Is there a specific needle to use?
www.schmetzneedles.com/collections/super-nonstick-home-sewing-machine-needles these work great
Great tutorial. Btw what is the name of the pattern on the wall. Black, white and red. Thanks!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
hello, can you please tell me why every time i use the iron on facing (following the directions) it wrinkles up??? what am i doing wrong??? thank you , Judie
Are you moving your iron around? Maybe that is why….press and hold lift move to next are and repeat .
sometimes it shrinks, so...you can steam your interfacing first. Do not have the iron touch it, just steam it. and then put it on the fabric
@@SewVeryEasy Thank you
@@juliecharron956 thank you ,,,that could be the problem
Great little trays. However, the perfectionist always comes out in me. The fact the square wasn't squared up with the design 😕😕
