I liked the way you explained everything in detail. That certainly helps for persons just learning to sew. Tutorial was clear and well organized! Thanks. PBerne
I've been searching for an easier version of making these cute "boxes" to hold my fat squares by color and by holidays. This is the clearest and easy to follow directions. Thank you. I have such as difficult time getting rid of all my scraps and so used the scraps sewn together to make the outer side. A patchwork look... With the liner the color of the fat squares so when turned down easier to look through my samples. Thank you again.
That sounds like such a creative and practical way to use up those scraps! 😊 I love the idea of a patchwork look with the liner matching the fat squares-so clever! I’m thrilled the tutorial was helpful for you. Happy organizing! 🌟
I’m a beginner sewer and i made this in 2 hours. I used quilting batting because it was all i had 😅 so i sewed it to the lining like how you ironed the fleece and it all worked out great!
I have made 6 fabric boxes following your tutorial. Thank you so much 😊. Have a great Christmas and take care. PS next on the agenda is the burrito pillow case.
I really like these. They would be wonderful little catch alls to give away with holiday gifts inside. And, I agree you explain everything in detail for we newbie sewers. Thank you Stacey. I shared your pot holder and pumpkin video with my sister. We are planning to make pot holders this weekend and pumpkins for fall decorations. And we truly appreciate the free pattern for the pumpkins. We are both retired now. This will be so much fun.
Thank you so much, Cheri! 😊 I really appreciate all your comments-they really help me out! ❤️ I’m so glad you and your sister are enjoying the projects, and I can’t wait to hear how your pot holders and pumpkins turn out! 🎃
What a lovely tutorial Stacey. Thank you. I get what you mean about opening the seams. Can be a bit of a challenge. I happened to notice I have a finished piece of wood that was 1 inch thick, 2 1/2 inches wide and 11 inches long (sort of like a clapper) I put that into the hole of the bag at the bottom and this made it easier to press my seams open before sewing the bottom closed. Thanks again Stacey for all your wonderful tutorials.
Wonderful tutorial, Stacey!! You explain each step and include why you do things, so that beginners can learn and follow along. Happy music and a relaxed teacher made for another great tutorial. Thank you 💐
Just popping in to say that I have made this SO MANY times as gifts for friends, to hold my fat quarter stash, and to organize so many other things. I've kept all my 2.5 inch cut corners and if I keep this up, I'll have enough of those for a project! I love that the instructions are right here on video anytime I need them. Thanks again, Stacey, for creating your UA-cam channel! 🤩
Thank you so much for this simple and easy to follow tutorial. I have seen others, but they were far more complicated. I shall definitely be making these!
Fantastic, clear tutorial! You have a new fan! Will check out your website. THANK YOU! Going to make some boxes right now. You must have a background in teaching home economic. I think this would be such a fun high school project...the students could proudly display them on them on their desks.
Thanks so much, no I am not a home economics teacher although I always thought that would be a fun job. I appreciate you watching my video and taking the time to leave a comment 😊
This Truly was an easy pattern..I ended up leaving the opening in the liner - I made several but just couldnt sew the closing stitches straight - so i mad a 4th as the lining is not as important to keep straight as the top is..Thank you for sharing this lovely, easy to follow project ❤
Was looking for a relaxing small project. This is great! I will be making a few of these this weekend. Thanks for putting the time into making a creative and peaceful channel.
Had to watch the replay this time. So much traffic due to construction on CT highways yesterday I was late getting home. Apparently those workers didn't get the memo that Stacey Lee was on at 5:00!!🤣🤣 Thank you for another great tutorial.
I have been binge watching all your tutorials (whilst being too unwell to sew at the moment) - thank you so much they are all amazing! Love the way you explain everything for beginners and they are very relaxing to watch too. Thank you so much! Xx
I have just found your videos, I subscribed straight away! I am very much a beginner but you explain things so well it makes me feel I can have a go myself, I will definitely be attempting to make this box this week. Thank you for such excellent tutorials that are clear and easy to follow, will now be binge watching the rest of your videos!
Great job...love the tutorial. I think I am going to make mine a little bigger and add 2 handles to make an Easter Basket for a baby shower in a couple weeks🐰Thank you☘🌷⭐
I was in the middle of making a tote bag following your tutorial and my sewing machine packed in!! So I'm off to the shops to buy a new one! Not ideal, but mine was 30 years old so time for a new one. Nothing fancy that's for sure.

Hi Debbi, yes exactly same instructions, you just need to adjust the size of the squares you cut out. I have given some different measurements over on my website here: www.stacey-lee.com/2022/03/18/reversible-fabric-box-tutorial/

If you want to make a drawstring bag with a boxed bottom, can you use the same technique for cutting the squares out of the bottom of the bag?
Yes you can Fran!
@@staceyleecreative thank you! X
If I want to make bigger or smaller boxes, I just need to follow the same directions, or do I need to adjust the curved box you cut out early in Stacey?
I found the answer when I printed the instructions. 🥰
Hi Debbi, yes exactly same instructions, you just need to adjust the size of the squares you cut out. I have given some different measurements over on my website here: www.stacey-lee.com/2022/03/18/reversible-fabric-box-tutorial/
Stacey Lee- are you going to put this into a PDF pattern?
Hi Kim, if I get a chance to I will, I think they are great to go back to as a reference even for me.
How do you adjust the cut outs (2.5 inches) if your square is smaller than 10 inches?
Sorry I am not sure, I will just try and smaller cut out and see how it goes!
PS: I made 7 boxes for the little ones instead of wrapping paper, will use fabric baskets. Different Christmas prints for different kids.
What a fantastic idea, Diane! 😊 Fabric baskets are such a great alternative to wrapping paper, and the different Christmas prints for each child sound adorable! 🎄❤️ I’m sure the little ones will love them!
Why do I get puckers when sewing inner lining to right side of fabric before turning out ? need help please thank you.😮
