- Our last hunt for gold nuggets on the Boomerang Patch before we leave the gold rush town of Kalgoorlie. We manage to add a few more gold nuggets to the jar. The weather has been cool and we make the decision to head north towards the Pilbara. A stop over for equipment, supplies and a quick tour of the gold rush town of Kalgoorlie before heading into a more remote area of Western Australia.

There are a lot of others that feel the same, I've suggested they have their own TV series, maybe with a bit of encouragement it could happen.
I enjoyed the opal show but having already been there and done that, it was over cooked by the producer's and was just a joke.
But if Mark and Krissy done it their way it would be a ripper show.
Maybe a go fund me thingy would work, feel l shouldn't talk about them like this, but they not only have a talent for finding the yella stuff but also in the entertainment and edumacation department too.
And no doubt they'll read this as they read every comment here.
So l don't care.

Love it when you give us a tour and snippets of your trip traveling along the way, paints a great picture expands of your journey and adventure. Go hard guys, the big ones around the corner
They next time in those areas with a beer can in a tree if possible, use a chain saw to cut and remove to look under the trees. Love the show 😊

I find a lot of gold on old hole piles it's because the halo affect of gold and old detectors pick up the halo affect then disturb the ground and effect the halo affect and lose the nugget

Here in the USA Arizona anyhow if it's Bureau of land Management property just go hunt. Not sure if your aware or not but your driving on the wrong side of the road. Enjoyed your show as usual.

How interesting. I had the exact same experience in Victoria digging very deep adjacent the a tree stump not noticing the stump had a hollow and a can had been put into the hollow about 70cm down so a lot more effort. The but of many jokes on that issue.
Those targets always sound good John. Tried telling myself for years not to get excited until the golds in your hand. Still find myself dreaming as the the hole gets deeper 🤣 Happy hunting 🍀⛏👍

You guys always make it interesting. Just a question do you ever get an opportunity to do any gold panning in WA? Obviously water is an issue but I thought maybe sometimes there is a bit of water after some of the rain?
We haven't done any paning Martin, maybe there will be some water around once we get back up to the pilbara

As a first time looking for gold what would you recommend as a beginner metal detector
There are allot of factors involved in making that decision. Where you intend to hunt, how often you hunt, how much you have to spend will decide what machine to use. My first gold detector was a minelab gpx 4500. Your best option would be talk to people who detect in the area's you intend working, either youtubers or a detecting club or even go camp in the area to meet people detecting. Sorry i couldn't tell you a specific machine big kev, good luck and happy hunting 🍀⛏👍

I like the way how you use the detector on its side than placing dirt onto the top. Worth the effort to do this.
