Very happy to see you reviewing one of my favorite planes in the game. Such a beast in RB, I love to fly it like a low tier Bearcat, capable of Boom and Zoom against those who can outturn it and turnfighting the few planes that can outrun it. Also can serve as a counter to frustrating planes to combat like the G.55 family.
The Kingcobras are even beasts in Arcade as well.

Easily one of my favorite planes. So glad they added one that doesn't look like a banana. Number one plane I have flown out is the p63 a 10 in the American tree. Fantrastic video as well.

I love this plane, both in the French tree and the American tree. Everyone complains about the 37mm but the 37mm is the major reason for me loving this plane. When you can take out a P-38 from 1.3 klms away with one shot from 1.3 klms, then you know it is a kick butt plane. In addition: It is both great at high altitudes going after bombers, or down low on the deck going after attackers. This is probably the most versatile of all the American planes.
I have OBS studio, but all I can record is the audio. Haven't figured out yet how to make the visual part working.

Hi Jengar, nice game. Two main reasons for hit instead of explosion with your canon. First and most evident one, the cannon may be loaded with a combination of M54 HE shell and M80 AP shell. Second one, even if the fuze of the M54 HE shell is very sensitive, it happend sometimes that the shell hits a to soft part of the plane to detonate. Keep on going Jengar.

Nice flying there and some real nice snipes with the 37mm from far, yet sill I would recommend to open up at real close distances such as 0.2 or 0.1 to save on ammo. I normally open up with the small caliber at my convergence setting of around 0.5-0.4, and when I'm really close and see that opportunity I try to sneak in a 37mm burst like in around 4:02. Keep it up and coming!
i'll continue in my style, my style warrents longer distance shooting ;) and still have rounds left after 5 kills :) but i think close range they can be very lethal indeed! :)
3:06 King Cobra is one of the best CAS in Ground RB in the game IMO. The bombs drop individually and the 37mm really shines vs tanks where lining up shots is so much easier than against an evading enemy plane. The planes flight characteristics are all suited to on-the deck dog-fighting and CAS runs too.

Great review! I went back to play the US P-63s after having not flown them for years and was amazed at their performance for their BR. Pretty undertiered aircraft imo. But for some reason I never really see good pilots flying them, lol.

With regards to the new software, the first match didn't look that good (but this may have been the sky type on that map) but the second match looked much better and really showed off the 60fps.

I dont usually think about paint/skins but the French version looks so much better than the yellow American versions.
There are some skins - sliver - for 200 GE. But not so beautiful.

I like the yellow camo, it makes them look unique
Gg Jengar, i was the C.202, very good game although many of my teammates dived only for 2 ground attackers, i feel lucky to play with you even if the match was lost.
gg mate, always frustrating to see 4-5 guys dive on the same attacker and all loosing their altitude.

Hi Jengar ! Nice review! I love this plane, just need learn more how to use its BnZ capabilities.
About the video @60FPS: I guess it doesn't add much, despite it increases a lot the required bandwidth. I've compared with a previous video (Realistic F6F-5N) and surprisingly the images looks crispy and clear, especially the red letters, and the movement is very smooth, fluid. The required band for 60fps is around 24mbits against 14mbits of 30fps. So, I guess the 30fps is a better choice: better quality with less bandwidth.

Do note that the 37mm M4/M10 is only marginally faster than MK 108, and its ballistic characteristic is completely different from the .50 M2 Browning. Unless you're at very close distance shooting an oblivious enemy, don't expect both of them to hit.

The P-63's (and by extension, P-39's) are one of those planes in the game where you *really* need to map separate keys for the different armaments. The velocity of the 37mm and the .50s are just too mismatched; in any kind of deflection shot, or whenever you have to lead at all, you're likely going to miss with either the 37mm or the .50s. Not only is the velocity different but depending on where your vertical targetting convergence is set at (if at all), the 37mm shells may be above or below the .50s.
I would suggest mapping a tertiary button (I use one of my mouse's thumb buttons) for the 37mm and then use left mouse for the .50s, you'll end up wasting less ammo. This is especially important given how great .50s are at long range (600+m shots) now that their damage falloff was fixed some months back.
I have to disagree with you here, i always choose to shoot both calibers at the same time, with any plane with more then one caliber. the more lead in the air the better. As almost no one is always 100% correct with their aim, its good to saturate a bigger area.
Right, but if you're leading (as well as compensating for drop, at longer ranged shots and again contingent on if you use vertical targeting with convergence or not) with two vastly incompatible (ballistics-wise) guns, one armament or the other is always going to be wasting ammo by being either too far ahead or too far behind the opponent. I don't see the sense in wasting either .50 or 37mm ammo if I don't need to.
If you're on someone's tail that's another story of course, but in any kind of deflection attack I find it really pays to use one or the other. The .50s (depending on the round) are nearly 900m/s whereas the 37mm is only 610m/s, which is a pretty substantial difference particularly at 600+m ranges. I suppose with the large 37mm belt of the late P-63s it's not as huge of an issue, but I consider armament discipline to be 100% neccesary for the P-63A5 and the P-39's et al.
I think the aircraft would be very popular when the French tanks come in 1.75, this and the Yak-9T. About your new recording software, I didn't notice any difference than before.

The 37mm jam every 2 rounds. It is really an issue if you don't have expert or ace crew and very high level of training. If you have a bad crew well this is basically a 12.7 mm mg only plane
Also its 4.0 and can grind jets, something that can only be easier in the soviet lend lease prem ones

It’s best to separate the guns, have a button for the cannon and a button for the Mgs
Jengar I see you use stealth to aim the 37mm, but I highyl recommend sticking with universal and binding the 37 seperate. since the 37 has a velocity of 690m/s and .50cals are over 800 leading in the .50cals to missing. Nonethelss, excellent video description, also is the c-5 better than the a-10?
I always use all guns together. The more lead thats in the air the better.

when people say energy fighting in terms of bnz and tnb do they mean getting rid of peoples energy by using energy retention and climbs rate
They mean that you fly in a way to drain your opponent's energy down to a level where they are left open and you are in a position to fire on them (ex: a stall, a deflection shot when they are turning, etc...). Energy retention (as the name implies) is useful for maintaining energy in maneuvers, and rate of climb is used to regain lost energy as potential energy. Essentially you want to increase the delta energy (difference in energy) between you and your opponent, and then move your plane into position to fire on them so they are forced to dodge. Their dodge will drain their energy and you want to stick to them and continue to do this until they are left vulnerable.

The P-39 and P-63 series are the only planes that can be competitive with any German or Japanese prop. The are great bnz, climb hate, roll rate, top speed... those planes are just the great American planes of the ww2. I always love it, since I played it back when the first IL2 Simulator was realised. Hehehe

In a dive it is, but i wouldnt say straight out its absolutely better. That really depends on the circumstances.
And here we see the low rewards 5 kills win and only 2500 reward for modules some plane or tanks need so much point that u need such a long time for spade. Sometimes i made with a sherman 4.3 vs 5.3 enemys 6 kills with prem and become 876 reward for modul and one need 2100 ist a joke.
