It's hard to find a tutorial video on UA-cam that's actually funny. You've done just that. Informative, yet amusing.
Thanks mate! Appreciate it
Absolutely top class boys. Perfect mix of comedy and info.
Big up Tom's face
Haha nice one pal
You man are always on the top of your game amazing information and always having a laugh and making it funny big up the both of you for your work lads
Thanks brother
@@SnaggedBro no problem man keep it up
Don't forget about Dropshot. Best rig to play with in January-February times where it got a lot quiet.
True that!
Bit late to the show but great vid guys, looking to take up lure fishing this winter and this had helped a lot. Hilarious as always too
Thanks dude!
Both naturals at the camera blogs

Cheers bro! Bang on
Great video lads, always making it fun. Can you add in time of year when you use different lures for the your targeted fish next video please. Cheers
Yes mate we will!
Absolutely brilliant. This wouldn't be my neck of the woods Brum would it ?? Honestly for a beginner this is everything I needed.
Glad it could help!! 😁👊🏼
@@SnaggedBro certainly did, I see you was fishing in Walsall. I walk that stretch so next time I will try some fishing there too, so Thank you
Bostin content as always fellas... wish we had some canals down in sussex but we do have plenty of rivers and lakes. Can't wait for June!!
Tight lines lads.
X
Thanks mate! June will be here soon!
@@SnaggedBro got your merch a couple of weeks ago...love it all. Good luck guys.
Hi guys your enthusiasm is infectious I must confess I am a bass fisherman but the principals are roughly the same you would do well beach lure fishing for bass with your technique year breath
Thanks mate!!
@@SnaggedBro I have read some comments on revealing your fishing spots it is not in anyway your fault or liability how unscrupulous people from another countries or otherwise whom wishes to behave we pay a lot of money to the authorities whom are supposed to patrol and monitor fishing activities in our canals and rivers the environment agency whom only care about English people they catch without a licence, easy prey whom they can take to court not non nationals it seems too much of a taboo subject in this soooo woke day and age
Sorry to be so political on your great very enjoyable channel, just wanted to show support to you guys whom run a great wholesome channel thank you very much keep up the great content 👍
Yes boys Iive fishing but to scared to handle a pike not because of hurting myself just hearing how easily it is to kill a puke being unexperienced so kinda put me off. But I did purchase a ultra light setup for the perch and git a little jack and was having problems unhooking it. If you could cover that maybe it would give me more confidence. Would love to get more into pike
Tom usually strikes that hard that they end up on an Eddie Stobart going North on the M6.
Dude get your self sone pistol grip players or forceps there’s a grove on the bottom jaw when you grip them there they will open wide and then unhook them.
We will do an unhooking video for sure!
Decent canal pike are getting harder to find.... Certain types keep taking them to eat
Got a similar problem in Newport just thay will take pike, purch, roch tench, rud in a nut shell anything that bites makes it worse thay are flote fishing on maggots so there just pulling them out
🤷🤷
I only went fishing the first time yesterday and did float fishing but this looks a lot more fun. Only thing I need to know if what to do if I catch something, those hooks look tricky, how would I take them out?
You can use some forceps, search for ‘how to unhook a pike’
All I can say absolutely brilliant guys keep up the good work❤
Thanks mate
Toms! Zoomed in face 😂😂😂😂😂
😂
Also need to bring a good long set of grips to take the hooks out of pikes months and a strong set of cutters if you need to cut the hook in am emergency :)
Yep! We will cover that in the pike episode! 👍👍
keep up the good work
Cheers mate!
What an excellent video
Nice one dude!
Just discovered your channel boys! Top stuff. Reminds me of what I used to love about fishing. I used to do coarse fishing in the local rivers and a bit of piking. Recently invested in spinning set and plan to hit the local rivers again when the season opens. This video was the perfect refresher for me. You should come over to Norfolk and fish the broads. Got some ome big crocs!
It's on the list! Welcome.to the channel mate! You've got a lot to catch up on!
@@SnaggedBro I've been hitting it hard! Watched all your matches, watched your DB stuff, watched the blackcountry piker, watched loads of canal sessions. Really enjoyed the the history of lure fishing. You've nearly convinced me to buy a SB landing net magnet.
Brilliant learning a lot thanks very much 👍
You’re welcome!
just amazing keep up the work
Thanks bro
Funny video lads, on a side note, have you ever had a pike from Salford park ? I thought it was pikeless 🧐
No mate we haven't
Just got back into fishing recently after 17 years off. Just started lure fishing again. These baitcasters are new to me. Can they go on any rod? Or do you need a special baitcast rod too? Also gret video guys. Getting out on the river tomorrow
Hi dude! Great to hear your back at it again! The Baitcaster has its own rod (the handle is a little different etc). So a Baitcaster cannot go on a normal spinning rod 👊🏼
Good luck with future fishing mate! N thanks for watching!
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
Any tips on setting up a bait caster ?
Spooling the line?
@@SnaggedBro spooling line to setting up the brakes and tension knob drag is normally down to the person iv just got an Abu Garcia set up and was wondering the best ways to set it all up for pike
You wanna go down that end where the boats are that’s where all the fish are geez!! Yes cheers yeah! Breath!
Haha!!!
LOVE YOU BOYZ ✌️
Cheers pal! 😉
Bostin boys 👍
Thanks mate
Can you tell me what make is the the medium rod and reel combo you have described
The reel is a n Abu Garcia mgx extreme and the rod is part of the Berkley Urbn series 👍🏻
Am looking to go pike fishing. And I want an Abu Garcia ike signature rod but not sure which one casting or spinning also not sure on the weight.
A good casting range of maybe 40-100 will cover you for heavy lures.
If you Anna go lighter maybe 10-40/60? Something around those lines anyway.
First decide what lures you want to use and how heavy they are.
What is that magnet part you use to attach your net?
We sell them on our site - www.snaggedbro.com/shop great for roaming the bank's without carrying a net
Replace that lightweight spinning rod rod for bfs and the whole range is baitcaster lol these style of rods are just way better for casting and retrieving lures, which you mentioned.
True that! Nice one mate
Are lure hooks barbed or barbless as some venues only allow barbless ?.
Most are barbed 👌🏼
You two always put me back into my lure fishing faze🤣
That's what we like to hear!! Be lucky!
Do you need a day ticket to fish rivers or canals for pike
Some you do mate.... Give it a Google...
Hey guys, what breaking strain braid is the Berkley stuff?
That's a good question! We have another video on the strongest Berkley braid ever! Check that out!
@@SnaggedBro sorted! Keep up the vids lads this channel is ace 🎣
Great Video guys, thanks.
@snaggedbro What make anbd model is the foldable net you are using there, the one clipped to your backpack?
It's the Abu Garcia Large rubber mesh predator net mate 👊🏼 clipped on with the Snagged Bro Net Magnet of course 👌🏼
I got as well savage gear medium game trigger 10-40g first time baitcaster and im trowing 10g jig head around 20-30m is it good distance or should it be able to trow further than that my magnetic breaks are on 3
Sounds sweet! Well in!
What’s your opinion on the Shakespeare Ugly Stick?
It's cool 😎
Love your videos they are amazing keep up thegood work
Thanks dude!
@Snagged bro yes lads that reel looks like the revo 2 MGXTREME? What would you recommend best ultralight rod to go with the revo 2 mgxtreme spin? Looking for good perch and zander any recommendations on a rod
We really like the Abu Garcia Rocksweeper! They do a few others too that are like 2-10g casting weight. Or check out any of the links in the descriptions of our videos for direct products. Hope this helps buddy and good luck!
i need some advice. i want to get an all reound travel rod so i can lure fish for pollock, then perch and trout. theres a 5-40g rod but im using 14lb mono so apparently 5g lures wont cast well. instead of grttin that rod, should i just buy a heavier rod (15-40g) and use heavier lures? if so, what 15g+ lures are there for perch and trout?
We're not to hot on Perch n trout lures tbf mate. We always prefer braid on our lure set ups just so we can feel the bites better. Especially with smaller tackle. Maybe that way you could then throw our 5g lures? Hope this helps 👍🏻
So I have ordered a abu garcia max x combo in special ops camo, its a 10-40g rod aiming to get started with lure fishing aiming at some perch but mainly pike. Is this rod not really heavy enough?
You'll be fine picking up pike on it mate 👌
Hi guys where can u buy one of those nets
Have a search on Google mate, angling direct may do one
i’ve got a 10-30g rod and i need a reel, and seeing all the different size reels and “max drag” is all confusing me, do you recommend any reels to go with my 10-30g rod.
We’re not sure mate sorry
I’ve an 80g rod would it be ok throwing a 85g zilla tail swinger
Yeah mate I think it would be ok
@@SnaggedBro thank you legends
What size baitcaster on the heavy rod bro? Got a shimano jerbait rod 40-90g 6,6ft what size baitcaster do i need for it? Got a Black Max but that looks a little small for throwing big lures.
I mean the black maxx could do it. Its just a entry level Baitcaster tho. Anything like the Abu Garcia Revo?? That will do ya
Abu
Black Max X Combo any good?
Very good!
I honestly believe Tom has lost the plot 🤣🤣👌
Deffo!
6:58 the _'bare minimum'_ should have included some information about clubs, licenses & permits.
Unfortunately, fishing isnt as straightforward as it used to be 20-25+ years ago. Back then, if you had a rod license, you could turn up at any local canal or river and start fishing.
These days, some stretches of canals/rivers/lakes/ponds are controlled by local fishing clubs - They rent the stretch of river/canal/land (which the lake or pond sits upon) from the land owner or the Canal & River Trust and you wont be able to fish stretches of water that are controlled by these clubs & C&RT unless you join them or buy a permit.
First and foremost though - You need a *ROD LICENSE* - you can buy these online or at your local post office. Second you'll need to join a club or buy a *WATERWAY WANDERERS PERMIT* - I bought the wanderers permit online so im unaware if you can buy these at your local post office - I dont think you can as the C&RT are nothing to do with the Government - The Rod License is a tax that does go to the government.
You could go fishing without any of these licenses/permits but if you get caught and fined by the bailiff, dont come crying 🙃
C&RT will have a complete list of where you can and cant fish on the waterway wanderers page of their website.
Money raised from licensing helps maintain and look after the rivers, canals and towpaths - even though some of them do look like absolute bollocks most of the time.
‘It’s better to seek forgiveness than permission’ 🤣
@@PegasusBridge1 truth be told. A lot of eastern euros fish my local river and they fish in places where its banned by the club and also by the C&RT so its highly doubtful if they have any license/permit/club membership at all - They still do it anyway.
Ive been fishing since last October to the end of march. Never seen or got stopped by a single bailiff.
Ive spoken to a few of them on occasion and they all say if they get caught without documentation then they are asked to leave, Bailiffs rarely fine them on the spot.
Who is the bigger mug? The guy who turns up and fishes anywhere he pleases or the guy and doesnt get fined or the guy who spent £30 for club membership, £45 for a rod license then a final £23 for a waterway wanderers permit?
🤣🤣
Caught nothing down here this season so i dont think i'll be renewing my club membership.
@@Rose.Of.Hizaki I’m of the firm opinion that lure anglers can politely bend the rules of ‘no fishing’ - we are not setting up camps and staying for 2 days, defacating in bushes and shouting when full of weed and Stella . And often the best spots are those ‘out of bounds’. Now I’m not condoning fishing without a licence - clearly you should have one, and I’m not advocating fishing water that is private - but there’s a lot of ‘no fishing’ signs up that Shouldn’t really apply to mobile roving lure anglers, get up early or fish late and be discreet and you can vastly expand your lure angling horizons 🎣
🙌🏻
👍
I have a 12ft pike rod but I think it’s a bit too long
May be a bit long for continuous casting perhaps. But everyone's gotta start somewhere mate! I think my first one was 12ft tbf.
Short rods with stumpy handles are good for casting a lot because they don't get in the way (the rod butt).
Be good for a dead Bait tho maybe 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks for watching the channel pal 👊🏼
Just getting in canal lure fishing, can anyone recommend a decent starter rod/reel combo under £100?
Not sure how much it is exactly but the Abu Garcia black maxx or silver maxx combo is a great place to start 👌🏼 that's where we started
@@SnaggedBro mega cheers lads keep up the great content 👍🏻
You forgot to tell them about
Ya Mom

Ya Breffffff
Haha! Thanks for the reminder
Do you need a rod license to fishing?
Yes 👍
@@SnaggedBro tyty
I'd be really interested in seeing more retrieval techniques 🤔
Yes! We will cover it
Don’t forget the Rod license.
Yep! Need one of them
Setting the hook ha ha
🤦🤦
Rod license
Fo'sho 👍🏻
That Rod is definitely too heavy for canals go light and if you’re proper fisherman, you will fishing area you and the fish have equal balance don’t just drag a fish in give it a chance just saying numpty
Defo not with the fish that were after! Doubles only kid 😉
