Clearly different but also similar to what I catch called a Walleye. Even the technique in which you're hooking up is so similar. Never seen a Zander before. Great video.
For me I find the Zander round here are pretty nomadic. But i find overcast days pretty good. Also don't use lures that are too big. Try dropping it down the side where there is any deviation from the bank such as vegetation over hanging/in the water or shady water under bridges etc. That's worked for me Tight lines.
Nice to watch you guys how you treat and handle zander. It is I'd say the no. 1 sport fish in Hungary but I believe in Europe too. We have catfish, asp, pike, chub and perch also but zander is something else. ;) Best times are at dusk and night with top water lures like Rapala ssr. I remember we were catching at night next to a campfire on dead baits in the river. It's surprising that they are living in canals here, as we known they prefers clean waters. Great video anyway, you guys always make me laugh! 😁🤣
Great vibes boys. Just come across your channel as I’m looking at trying some lure fishing. Mostly stick to my carping but this looks mega. I’ll be picking up one of them nets. Look forward to more vids. Cheers J
Pause at 19:12 and look at the Flash under the Water. Then at 19:13 there Is another one. Nice catches. Some sit all day and sometimes Night, for Zander and lucky to catch One.
Well fished.Cool video as always! I love that junction, always full of zander. Also a good 70cm+ pike, probably resposible for the tail damage of the zander. After the junction if you go uphill/upstream, passed by the mooring, you can find some really good perch.
@@SnaggedBro there's plenty of lochs and also places for fly fishing. I used to go pike fishing every weekend. Dead baits and 3 rods and alarms. Got sick of carrying it about. Loch awe, Loch lomond venachar etc. You are lucky with drains can rod hop fishing them.
Hi mate. Between braid and lure is 9lb fluro carbon leader 👌🏼 which is ideal for the Perch and Zander. However a wire trace would be much more sufficient were we to target Pike 👌🏼 thanks for watching

It’s just about finding a canal with Zeds in there! I’m sure if you scan through some recent Comments one might point you in the right direction 👌🏼 UTV
Lovely video gents! As someone else noticed, the hook could do with a bit more show outside the lure. On top of that, Zanders have hard and dense mouthes. You might have lost a few because you don't really set the hook, you only lift the rod a bit. Apart from those things, a very enjoyably video, well done!
Another nice video lads as a newbie I’m just working my way through your back videos but I thought it was illegal to return Zander to the water after catching, as the Zander were illegally introduced into several fisheries and are a none native fish.
@@SnaggedBro oh yea so i went to an urban spot on the tees targeting perch on a tiny spinner and caught my first pike, it was only small but was absolutely over the moon, just caught on my sons 7ft shakepeare rod and reel with that shite line that comes with it haha. what braided line would you recommend starting out with for predator fishing? also is wire trace recommended or will thick flourocarbon be fine?

I thought the law in the uk required all Zander caught to be killed?
We are currently doing a video that will clarify this for all anglers. Stay tuned!
Why kill Zander? Here in the Netherlands they are a well respected fish and always returned. The occasional one may be taken for consumption.
@@barrytaylor9307 As well as in Canada! Top notch fish to eat!

Very light stroke for zander fishing :) Normally everyone recomend stiff rods and hard stroke for them :)
👌👌👊 we need to go Zander fishing again!
Well done lads

In one of your video shots I see it was raining can you pike when raining? As I have read that it hinders the fishing and whats your advice please
I would actually say it helps fishing as it oxygenates the water 🤷♂️
Zander my favourite fish to catch, unfortunately not to much in England...the bigger ones are in the deeper water
Love zander!
He didn't win because he said Zander and Perch. His 4th fish was a pike. So, 3-3 it was.
Thank you very much.
top dangling bros!
Cheers Dom!
Try brighter colors if they are in darker/muddy waters
