I’d have to give it to BTC on account of the fact that I have had family members engage in and bring up organically in conversation both the Bud Light boycott and the Sound of Freedom movie thing. The first thing my cousin said to me when I showed up at his house once was “No [Bud Light] here” (yes, he was drinking a Mexican beer at the time). Also my aunt invited my sister to a Sound of Freedom viewing because her church had rented out three theaters to support it.

It really just makes me sick because many of the other folks from the same studio are actually good Christian movies. BTC wins because of that.
What I love is that they were going on and on about it making $20 million on opening weekend. That it is proof that anti woke sells. And then Barbie which the same people are railing against as woke comes out and makes $160 million it's opening weekend not even factoring in how many toys they have sold because of it.

Two people in my family passed out creepy inket-printed pamphlets promoting it because "something something god's children" with a cherry-picked bible quote at the end. They got them from their church, and went to go see it as soon as it came out. It "shook" them. 🤦♂️

Today I saw a bumper sticker that I'm pretty sure seems to be either tied to this movie or the Qanon BS in general. "God's children are not for sale." The font color? The American flag, because of course it was. Ugh

I’d be interested to know how these church folk would react to one of their preachers or church members being accused of sexual abuse. They will see a movie about trafficking (which is of course monstrous) but they would probably cover up abuse in their own backyard.

The thing about Bud Lite isn't just that some conservative boycott worked (though I'm sure that's part of it if you also compare it to Target's stock) But also a lot of liberal and LGBT people also decided they didn't want anything to do with Bud because of how they responded to all this, basically leaving Dylan out to dry and exposing how shallow their rainbow capitalism really is.
And to a lesser degree this is true of Target where a lot of us see how quickly they caved and took down their Pride merch. Even here in San Francisco, the Target near me put their Pride stuff in a dark dirty back corner of the store after shit started going down.

This is why I constantly remind myself of the Death of the Author. I like his character, and am more comfortable with the 2-dimentionality of John Reese/Riley. Knowing that I appreciate the show not for what he brings to it, but for what everyone else brings to it.

It would've been a whole different history if these events did not take place, makes you wonder. Iran would have most likely continued as our Ally.
