When I first saw Newt Gingrich as house speaker I didn't know anything about him. He seemed a moderate and fairly respectable. Not long after I began to see him shapeshift much like Lindsey Graham , playing both sides while feeling the temperature of the room. Then he began to strongly resemble Ted Cruz with his way of questioning people without letting them finish answering, swooping in and cutting them off in mid stride and then accusing them of not answering the question. Also his perpetual use of skewed numbers/percentages to make a point only to find he was citing false data. Lastly he, like yjr unscrupolous John Neely Kennedy would take things Democrats said out of context and twist it on its head and then feign outrage. Gingrich embodies many traits of some of the most vile congressmen in the Republican party. He is one of the most corrupt and unauthentic politicians that ever lived.
Gingrich was the one that convinced me the Republican party was not my party. My family were all Republicans, but I could not be one if that man was who they were. I never went back.
He also is who schemed and oversaw the massive shift in the south by creating immense misinformation and basically making states that were moderate and voted for people not parties-he completely hijacked the Republican Party and threw its Lincoln values out the door completely starting with the southern states that they needed to make red (Reagan was their puppet largely to appeal to southern voters who recognized him and thought he was a real nice guy, ugh). I remember suddenly seeing weird attacks even on long-term beloved figures that were absolutely vicious… he changed much of how people campaigned and became a terrorist in DC. Decency was never a place he could exist, so he threw it out the door and bullied regular reps to choose-bully or be bullied. It started sneaky but he didn’t need long to get hostility to be normal. Fear does that, and reps are largely giant cowards.

I once met a guy like George Santos. He lied like he breathed; not because he had to, or even because he wanted something, but just because he seemingly couldn't stop. It really seemed like a kind of mental disorder; this kid lied about his favorite color, what he had for lunch, which movie he was going to see that weekend. It was completely random amd seemingly for no discernable purpose. A lot of Santos' lies remind me of this; he does it just because.

Also I taught history, and it truly is amazing to me that We the People somehow manage to eventually restore ourselves to some form of sanity considering how many crazy people have been in office. I think it was that horrible little man who yelled “LIAR” during Pres. Obama’s SOTU speech who broke with decency and respect, and these crazy people came out of the woodwork. FOX News was a safe harbor to them all. They couldn’t stand that Obama was/is adored, smarter, better looking, a better basketball player, a nicer man with a nicer family, Thus did the floodgates open for anyone who hated Obama and 1/2 of his race. They broke every custom, norm, and understanding of decency.
When I first saw Newt Gingrich as house speaker I didn't know anything about him. He seemed a moderate and fairly respectable. Not long after I began to see him shapeshift much like Lindsey Graham , playing both sides while feeling the temperature of the room. Then he began to strongly resemble Ted Cruz with his way of questioning people without letting them finish answering, swooping in and cutting them off in mid stride and then accusing them of not answering the question. Also his perpetual use of skewed numbers/percentages to make a point only to find he was citing false data. Lastly he, like yjr unscrupolous John Neely Kennedy would take things Democrats said out of context and twist it on its head and then feign outrage. Gingrich embodies many traits of some of the most vile congressmen in the Republican party. He is one of the most corrupt and unauthentic politicians that ever lived.
Gingrich was the one that convinced me the Republican party was not my party. My family were all Republicans, but I could not be one if that man was who they were. I never went back.
He also is who schemed and oversaw the massive shift in the south by creating immense misinformation and basically making states that were moderate and voted for people not parties-he completely hijacked the Republican Party and threw its Lincoln values out the door completely starting with the southern states that they needed to make red (Reagan was their puppet largely to appeal to southern voters who recognized him and thought he was a real nice guy, ugh). I remember suddenly seeing weird attacks even on long-term beloved figures that were absolutely vicious… he changed much of how people campaigned and became a terrorist in DC. Decency was never a place he could exist, so he threw it out the door and bullied regular reps to choose-bully or be bullied. It started sneaky but he didn’t need long to get hostility to be normal. Fear does that, and reps are largely giant cowards.
Obama was way worse.

I once met a guy like George Santos. He lied like he breathed; not because he had to, or even because he wanted something, but just because he seemingly couldn't stop. It really seemed like a kind of mental disorder; this kid lied about his favorite color, what he had for lunch, which movie he was going to see that weekend. It was completely random amd seemingly for no discernable purpose. A lot of Santos' lies remind me of this; he does it just because.
I knew someone that would add details to some made up stories. Like remember the time we all went camping and it started snowing heavy? He would then add how much snow we got. That is what the Rethuglicans party is starting to become.
