    it seems most people enjoyed the video! but two small things seem to bother people:
    1. I said it doesn't matter if you think Old Kratos is weaker or stronger than Young because it just doesn't. I also want to placate to both sides as it is somewhat debated about in a lot of spaces and didn't want this video to focus on Kratos vs Kratos when it wasn't important.
    2. I do say Caelid as Kylid. I have zero idea why, I guess in my head it was just more fun to say it that way as I did all my playthroughs and it just stuck with me. Hope that doesn't bother people too much!

    One peculiar thing about Kratos is that, as a God of War, he gets stronger the more he fights - he's practically a Broly in that regard. So I imagine the world and enemies of Elden Ring would be like a never-ending stream of zenkai boost for him.

      The dragons couldn't possibly exist beyond time and space. They lived in arch trees in a land of grey crags, originally surrounded by hollows, until the humans were infused with souls and found The First Flame. This necessitates they cannot be beyond time or space. The closest ones are Aldia, who fused into the very literal foundation of the world, beyond even the Dark and the Deep, and the Giants, who by special rite could traverse through history, at the very least that we know of. The next closest is Fia, who could function as a gateway to some strange end of days that might be akin a debatable cyclical nature of the world trying to return to darkness so it can be a land of grey again. Aldia isn't even conscious that we know of after DS2, so maybe I should only count the giants after all. The First Flame definitely is beyond time, space, life and death. It summons the Black Knights and stirs godly souls into a vanguard to enable it to perpetuate the aforementioned cycle without intervention. Yet the Flame displays nary a wit of sentience or resistance to this Linking, so we cannot hope to count it. Better to say The Profaned Flame, which is malicious and spite and conspiratorial.

    One argument in the Elden Ring verse’s favor is that, in the Elden Beast fight, the arena is made up of hundreds of Erdtrees. If we take this to be a representation of multiple realities (which is incredibly likely), then the Elden Beast functions on the level of multiversal threats, something which it’s super debatable Kratos can at all contend with. By that logic, not only could the Elden beast have a good chance of defeating Kratos, so does Malenia, from the fact that not only did she resist the goddess of rot for so long, but she had also become the goddess of rot’s physical avatar in phase 2, making Kratos deal with a power being brought down to his comprehension.

    Agree with the conclusion but the only reason we are resurrected after losing to characters like Malekith is because of the Elden Tree. If we are assuming that Kratos isn’t granted grace and isn’t chosen by the Elden Tree, Malekith can straight up kill him permanently as Destined Death is the only reason we can kill the Elden Beast in the first place. The “secret ending” that takes place with Melina also implies that she can kill the Lord of Frenzied Flame, meaning that someone wielding the full power of it can kill people who scale above the Elden Beast.

      kratos was able to tank hits from a bloodlusted fp thor, the same dude that splintered the world tree which contains 9 infinite sized realms and sent jormungandr back in time..... meaning kratos could most likely tank almost any attacks in elden ring

    Strong possibility he could. But we must also consider he would be playing by the rules of the realm. Meaning he can die if the right person kills him. That's my take.
    Edit: so to answer a question about "playing by the rules of the realm" I mean to make the fight actually mean something either Kratos would be crossing over into the Lands Between without his power from his own universe. I use this type guideline with any "what if" battles to not only make the fight interesting but also make sense. For example it would make no sense for something like the infinity stones to work outside of their universe of origin because its been established that that isn't possible. And since its been proven that Kratos lost his abilities when Greece died there's a chance that if he out right left his own universe his magic would not work anywhere else. That being said his raw power alone could see him through to the end. That being said things operate differently in Elden ring as it was explained in the video. Given the strange way Elden Ring goes about the concept of death dying in this realm complicates things. Without the death rune no one really dies. So for Kratos to die without the aid of the death rune would break the rules of the universe. But there's also the possibility that not being from that universe the rules may not apply to him. But that also means that applies to all other opponents he has been theorized to be pitted against.
    The big thing here is where the fight takes place. To me that greatly determines the outcome. Not sure that clears up any confusion, but this is all theoretical so in the end the victor will always be chosen by the one who is writing the story.

I think it's more of the fact that hes having to show a great amount of restraint and discipline at all times to hold back His anger and dealing with constant nightmares memories cetera thats making him look older. It would need fire that is focused specifically onto the scarlot rot and not a fire that is just burning in general if you get what I mean. Basically he would need to control the fire. As for destined death I think it would play a bigger role as the first demigod slain was stabbed with multiple black knives (which contain a fragment of destined death) and instantly died in mind. So the true destined death would be more scary. I assume the destined death effect would be like TRUE damage. It wouldn’t be able to be healed but can be blocked and possibly mitgated to certain extent. So krstos wouldn’t be able to heal from it and it might work by slowly deleting him from existence in current and future time (I say current and future time because people still know about the gloam eyed queen so she would’ve had to existed at one point even though she died to destined death). So destined death either deletes people or destroys their soul permanently. I did go kinda off topic but the point is he would struggle with destined deathand slightly struggle with scarlot rot. That is until he finds out the cure for SR. Just like in the nordic world he had to find out interactions and wouldn’t just know that scarlot rot is cured with fire focused onto it

    I love Elden Ring but… I’ve seen every boss in Elden Ring get basically one shotted by a mute 5’5” maidenless virgin with a hammer. The tarnished take 3 or 4 hits and they are dead and they have no resurrection stone.
    While Kratos has been killed 3 times and brought back to life by either physically dragging himself out of a hellish dimension or getting a magic boost from someone. Kratos has fought his way through time and space and conquered multiple lands.
    Kratos fell from the sky and survived, the Tarnished tripped over a rock and died after 10 feet.
    *Kratos laughs in realm shift as the tarnished tries to bloodhound step away*.

    For Placi, I would honestly say that the best way to scale him without breaking any form of calculations beyond measure is to say that the area he resides in simply exists outside of time, but is somehow accessible to those within time. Like a pocket dimension where everything that happens within it simply takes place over an infinitesimally small period compared to the world outside. You'd enter it and leave at the exact same moment. Nothing would change in the world, only within that dimension.
    This at least then at least allows you to calculate Placi's strengths relative to everything else.

      Yeah, the storm is less of a timestop effect and more a warping of time so dramatic that it's detached from the timescale of everything around it. Relative to the rest of the world, the storm - and indeed Placidusax himself with his scales - is effectively acausal. The flow of time isn't halted, just distorted beyond all meaning, such that anything that happens there could be considered to happen at any point in time, or to not happen at all, simultaneously. This is why Placidusax is still alive inside the storm for us to fight, despite being supposedly slain by Godfrey once before. It's also why the Needle - which only halts the spread of outer god influence (as seen with Malenia and Millicent), not reverses it - is able to completely cure the frenzy flame when used inside the storm. By using it outside the bounds of time, it's as if we ALWAYS had it.

    I think the reason that’s keeping Kratos from using those Greek powers is his mentality he’s wanted to leave his old life behind him and even trained to control his rage with gods a lot about them can alter it seems just based on their mentality, like Atreus getting sick but him believing himself a mortal and being far weaker, it’s after realizing what is his he stops getting sick and even starts effecting the weather with his anger as well as being strong enough to cause shock waves and stagger a Baldur whose actually trying. I think Kratos saying he tried using those powers was before the events of GOW 4 after all the Blades of Chaos still work after Greece’s destruction, after Kratos’ breakthrough after Ragnorak he might be able to use those powers again, and if he can’t well then I guess that’s that

    More Souls is always good. How about ranking Fromsoft's bosses?
    The realm of the Elden Beast might be more impressive than Yggdragsil depending on if each tree represents a planet or a universe. Some have speculated that each FromSoftverse is connect by those trees, because Dark Souls 1 has Ash Lake which is also a place with similar trees though different of color.
    The trees could also represent alternate dimensions of the Lands Between with each tree representing the dimensions of the other players who exist parallel to ours (that's the canon explanation for why we occasionally see other players) which would explain why each one of those trees has the same color. That could make the realm be connected to an infinite amount of alternate dimensions (or at the very least as much dimensions as there are players). That should put it miles above Yggdragsil.
    Each tree could also represent a planet, but there is nothing in any of Fromsoft's lore I can think of that even hints at that.

    • @JuliusAureliusMaximus
      @JuliusAureliusMaximus Рік тому +1

      To my understanding, an infinite amount of alternate, 4D dimensions are still limited in the sense that time and physical dimension set the ceiling on their vastness. On the other hand, the Yggdrasil transcends those very concepts entirely, making it 5th dimensional at the very least. And kratos, while never showing that he can entirely destroy this minimum 5th dimensional object, at least shows that he can damage it. I could be wrong, but in my eyes damage and durability directly proven to be on a 5th dimensional level is far beyond endless 4D feats.

    • @TheArchevil
      @TheArchevil Рік тому

      @@JuliusAureliusMaximus The realm of the Elden Beast would be the place that connects those universes and not part of the universes itself. That would make it similar to Yggdragsil. The main difference would be that The Realm of the Elden Beast would link as much universes as there are players while Yggdragsil connects 9 realms/universes. It also wouldn't be the only 5th dimensional space as the Dragonlord Placidusax resides in one created by himself which makes higher dimensional feats seem like a lesser deal than in GoW.

    Few things to add/correct:
    Radhan's constellation holding feat: This is a massive feat as the stars are actually a form of destiny (fate) of beings, including the beings on radhan's level like Ranni, which meant he also froze his own destiny. The stars are also a form of outer god influence or a form of extreme power beyond normal mind comprehension (as the people who created magic or star magic were able to observe something in the stars along with their own destiny or observe nothing but the void). The former being an assumption since even though the later is confirmed, the former is not outside of certain enemies/bosses coming from the stars.
    Which is also related to a form of outer gods attempting to invade the lands in between and the moon (which I won't touch on).
    So quiet literally radhan is on the level comparable to the gods when he was sane. Able to technically defy the golden order.
    This also means that-
    All the gods scale around that level, with demi gods to match. and that the scarlet rot is a vastly emped up version of Melenia, who won/forced a draw using the scarlet rot.
    Further more: Destined death causes death. It's not instant death it just inflicts death. Which causes immortal beings to become mortal or well killable, and it can be used even on specific aspects like the soul or body (which resulted in deathblight and ranni's puppet body respectively). I genuinely cannot explain it either because it just makes it so that you die or pushes you towards death.
    All in all, I don't think kratos would win/survive in the elden ring world once he starts hitting certain demi god bosses. (mainly those playing around their respective elements/gods power).
    Though that's only if he doesn't make use of the rune or is excluded from the rules of Elden ring. If he get's to use their powers and abilities then yeah he would overcome everything.

      Pushing back against all forms of outer god encroachment and defeating gods, godly avatars, creatures from beyond, and he even did that while the concept of death was still prevalent so unlike the player character who get to enjoy trying till they succeed, he did that in 1 life and for the most part he appears completely fine when he was faced.

    Great video, and one point regarding the Outer Gods;
    It is very safe to assume that they are akin to H.P. Lovecraft’s Eldritch beings in scale and in power. This is due to the fact that George R. R. Martin was a co-creater overseeing Elden Ring’s lore and world building. Martin has been on record stating he was heavily inspired by Lovecraft’s work. If you are familiar with his published and written work (yes even the TV show) then you would know he includes many references to Lovecraftian-eque gods and monsters in his works. A few example of these deities include: The Drowned Gods, The Deep Ones, also Fish-like people who worship a frog statue made of oily black stone, and massive cities made again entirely out of oily black stone. All of which are synonymous with Lovecraftian lore and world building. Martin likes to use these Lovecraft’s inspired deity’s to be the foundation of the outerversal gods in his story’s lore, never interacting directly with the story but always being present deep within.
    So judging off Martin’s own testimony, his previous works, and his tendencies. I can pretty safely say this is the same for Elden Ring.

    Regarding time-breaking situations, we should look at how the battles play out. The boss's effects on time affect its surroundings in such a way that time is perceived in the way that we do as the player controlling the character. If a boss that affects time is glitching around at blistering speeds when our character fights them, then that's the speed we scale to. If the boss is a slow lumbering oaf, of our character is the one spazzing around, then that's used in scaling.
