This song just grabs me by the heart and gives me the chills, my new number one Country song. Say what you want about Country music, but Blake Shelton's voice was made for this song. What a performance. All that talent and Gwen, It doesn't get any better!
I was raised on country and classic rock but had moved away from Country for the most part before this song came out; I'm not particularly religious anymore but there is an undeniable POWER when it comes to music produced and performed by religious people
I am a Texan, raised in the church, and spent plenty of time on the land. Now a days there's not much country about me other than my love of nature, and I am most definitely not religious. However, things in this song never really leave you. The dichotomy of religion and sinning (holy water and shine) is very very southern. I think it's just something that people in the south can relate to and feel no matter what they believe now.
I love that country can mean different things to different people growing up in the vast USA, I am living on 6 acres out here in the boonies and I call my place God's Country because it's so nature and peaceful. On the Big Island living country strong.
They'd love country if they gave it a chance...most ppl think my dog died blah blah but na 😆 its some good music.. country and r&b blues mixed gave us rock n roll
I think this is one of the great bridges we have that speaks to the core of what makes people American from every color and background and culture, the way that this speaks to our gut instincts and puts a fire in the stomach is something visceral and primal I'm not sure how to articulate it, and this is only one example of a country music version of this, there are many more examples that come from other genres that create a bridge but this one just hits us on the animalistic side somehow
I absolutely loved your reaction to this song. This is one hell of a song. I loved watching you & how much you enjoyed this song. Those words to this song makes you feel something. Cause he does put an emphasis on God’s Country as he’s singing it. And you can feel that. Or let me put it this way, it made me feel something. I believed every word he said in this song. Such a great song. And he did his thang with it.
Hey Doc, for someone who didn't like country music you sure seem to have enjoyed this song. Love the fact that you get chills on most of the country songs you have been listening to. Love your reactions.
Most did not realize that the black and white video was from archival Dust Bowl film. The Dust Bowl was the name given to the drought-stricken Southern Plains region of the United States, which suffered severe dust storms during a dry period in the 1930s. As high winds and choking dust swept the region from Texas to Nebraska, people and livestock were killed and crops failed across the entire region. Oklahoma was especially hard hit and Blake is from Oklahoma. This was filmed on his ranch.
I love this song! One of the parts of the song that I like is the devil went to Georgia but he didn't stick around, reminds me of the song Devil Went Down to Georgia- Charlie Daniels.
Should try Blake's new one...Come Back as a Country Boy!! Awesome!! Even better than God's Country!! I do like the reference to Charlie Daniel's Devil Went Down to Georgia!!
This is one of my all-time favorite songs you should check out this is my favorite country artist Jason Michael Carol and listen to his song Alyssa lies and possibly your reaction on that it's a real tear-jerker but it's an amazing song
@DocRich when he said "the devil went down to Georgia" but he didn't stick around....." He was referring to the song Charlie Daniel's - The Devil Went Down to Georgia song, that's the original. You should react to it brody 👍
Give you a big hint because because it's called devil went down to Georgia by Charlie Daniels daniels and the song that you need to be playing and is Tennessee whiskey by Chris Stapleton
Hey Doc, since you did Speedom already, you guys should do the OG World Wide Chopper (Speedom is WWC 2). BTW use the lyrics video, cause there is a Turkish rap segment and a Denish segment
