The market crash and the Dust Bowl, with the life we all live today, we could not come close to even imagining how hard life was. My paternal grandparents moved from Texas to California during the Dust Bowl. They had a baby and a young toddler (my uncle and dad). They lived the story of The Grapes of Wrath, working as itinerate farm workers. They got paid in whatever they were picking. If it was peaches, almonds, tomatoes, green beans, that was their pay and what they ate and fed their babies. They lived in their car, with the babies sleeping inside the car and mom and dad sleeping on the ground under a makeshift tent made of a blanket attached to the trunk lid, a couple of poles and twine to hold it all together. One of my all time favorite songs. This song is simple and absolutely amazing. Love Blake Shelton!
It was called the dust bowl. It was caused by overworking the land. It was a combination of natural drought an improper farming that caused wind erosion to remove the topsoil.
I've read many a book about the Dust Bowl in the 1930's.. also during the Great Depression.. our country was in serious trouble at the time. Shows how much as American's we will survive.
I hear ya, in regards to generalizations made about people. And yes, he and Adam Levine are the ones who started The Voice and he was a Coach for 20 seasons. He actually has a ranch and farm and works it himself.
Another who was The Voice for several years and was the very first winner of American Idol 22 years ago is Kelly Clarkson. One of my favorite female singers. She's extremely versatile. Has her own show and does a Kellyoke segment every day covering songs of other artists, and her latest album Chemistry (came out a year ago) is outstanding. She and Blake Shelton have been friends for about 2 decades. I'd love for you to cover her.
Ol' Red is a good one and for a different side of Blake (and young ) I think you'll love "The Baby"
The baby is one of my favorites!!!!
That was Luke Brian on the American Idol show with Katie Perry and Lionel Rich, Blake Shelton was one of the original judges on the television show called The Voice for what ended after 23 seasons as a Judge
Many of us who own property in rural areas know it is God's country.
This is mine and favorite country artist! ❤❤❤❤. I sing this song and many others he has a wonderful song list. Kiss my country ass is really good and need to watch the music video version so you can see 2:05
Blake is from Oklahoma what was in the heart of the Dust Bowl. A lot of them moved to California looking for work. Blake did the Voice where he Met Gwen Stefanie of No Doubt and they married.
I loved country when I was younger, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry. I am 34 now so that dates me. But Blake Shelton is one of the greatest ever in my opinion.
He’s my favorite country singer he has amazing songs. This one is my favorite along with Sangria.
Blake was a mentor/judge on the Voice, where he met his wife Gwen Stefani, of No Doubt fame. Blake is one of the biggest country artists.
Dust Bowl. Over farmed, draught snd life was miserable. Many were only share cropping, and they left Oklahoma and headed for "The Promised Land," California.
The song is just RICH, story, vocals, ALL of it!!💖🥵 HAWT!
I love Hawaii TOO. No 🐍!!
🤟🤗
The Voice!
For over 20 seasons, he may have even been one of the original coaches. The Voice is where the met and eventually married Gwen Stephanie. Gwen has been a coach 8 times before and is again a coach, this year. She took a break last year. This year is Queen of Country ~ Reba McEntire, Gwen Stephanie (Shelton), Snoop Dogg, and Michael Buble'.
Also, Hardy (wait in the truck) wrote this song!!! You can see him on YT playing it acoustic!!❤
hell right by Blake is another worth a look.
