    Thank you for posting! Many people post video reviews just hating the concealer, but they apply 3-5 times the amount you used and do not warm up the product. I started using the bye bye under eye concealer and love it. One small dot does my under eye and around my nose where is slightly redder. I don't use foundation just a tinted mineral sunscreen and this concealer polishes up my look without needing to buy any foundation. I also use an eye cream before application, getting dry under eyes in my late 30s.

    Thank you for showcasing a powder foundation! I’m 42 and am becoming drier each year. I’m trying liquid foundations to manage dry skin which bums me out bc I love powder foundations. They are quick, touch up-able, and have been my jam for 25 plus years.

    Great idea to bring the camera in closer to do the video. I love watching beauty videos where we could see in detail how you are applying the products to your face. I feel that is important because some of us (like me) are not so good at applying makeup and watching you up close can really teach us application!!!!! Thanks Lisa! Really enjoying your channel! ❤️~Maria

    Your skin looks so healthy and luminous even without foundation. I was one who found the It concealer to be too thick & heavy so I stopped using it. After watching your demonstration I’ll have to give it another try. I like the idea of using a brush to press it in. Thanks for the helpful video Lisa. :)

    Thank you for showing how to apply the IT concealer!!! I am going to try it tomorrow 😘😘 You might want to try the DE protini cream I think you may love it! It is anti aging and I feel it's more hydrating than the B- hydra but less than the Lala cream.

Have tried small brush, blender, and fingers. And a tiiiiny amount. Will try in the morning how you're applying it. Fingers crossed. Thanks again!

    I have recently been getting really into drunk elephant as well. I love the La la Retro during winter, but it can be much in the Texas heat, leaving my t-zone a bit oily. I have dry and sensitive skin so the B Hydra isn't enough for me. However, they came out with the Protini, which I have been LOVING! It even provides enough hydration for these colder days we have been having.

    I've found that a damp beauty blender under mature eyes tends to be drying for me if I bounce a few times under the eyes or use a brush under the eyes it looks awful on me. Now, if I take a really damp beauty blender to my concealer -- onto very moisturized skin, and NOT keep pouncing the concealer works and looks its best. If I keep bouncing the blender it just dries me out more. I also found that using a thicker moisturizer under the eyes makes them look icky with concealer. If I use a moisturizer that is ultra thin or oil, it must be super thin and basically soaks into the skin. Actually, I start moisturizing under my eyes as soon as I get up when I know I will be wearing makeup. It works for me.

    Hi Lisa, I loved this tutorial and how close you zoomed in. It really helps a lot , plus your skin looks gorgeous with and without makeup! I have a couple questions. Does the La La Retro cream have enough moisture for dry mature skin, and is the CC foundation appropriate for dry, mature skin? Also, which colors of the concealer and foundation did you use? That would really help with color matching. Thank you for your great videos😃. ❤️💗🙏

      I know this is none of my busy in this conversation. I thought I would let you know I bought the drunk elephant retro cream I always read the ingredients. It contains alcohol I did not like it. All of the drunk elephant products contain alcohol in it and I have very dry skin and sensitive skin at the same time I think if you're going to try a drunk elephant product use their maracuja oil. Even that was not enough for my skin. I have a suggestion if you want something really hydrating try the tatcha Harper rejuvenating face mask it is amazing for my skin but than again everyone's skin is different. 😊😘😊

      Marie Gabaldon Hi Marie, It is ok that you replied to me. I welcome anyone’s feedback. I would not like alcohol in my moisturizer either unless it is a fatty alcohol, not Ethel alcohol or denat. alcohol. Do you mean Drunk Elephants Marula oil? I love their Marula oil, but I can’t afford the large container of it. I bought the Ordinary’s Marula oil and that one is good too.

      I have the regular celebration foundation without SPF protection. It works great on dry older skin for me. I’m 46 and my skin tends to go through dry spells. I actually think my skin feels more moisturized by the end of the day. I use the application method Lisa showed by pressing it in. I use shade light in both the powder and CC cream. Medium is too dark for me. I’m not completely fair so light is a tad too light. Thankfully light works as it does self adjust a bit. I’d imagine the CC+ would perform the same as the celebration. It may be better.

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  6 років тому +1

      Hi Kellye the Lake Retro is very hydrating and would be great for dry mature skin. I wouldn’t recommend the powder though... I would go for a hydrating liquid or cream.. a heavy powder may magnify any texture or make dry skin look flat. I’m Medium in the IT powder and Medium Tan in the concealer - hope that helps!

    • @kellyeradford9585
      @kellyeradford9585 6 років тому +1

      Lisa J Thank you for responding to my questions. I really appreciate it. I never would have guessed medium tan in the concealer because I have the light in the It Cosmetics Bye Bye undereye CC concealer with spf and it is very dark for a light color. I can only wear it with a tan.I guess I will need to go to Ulta or Sephora for a color match if I decide to pick some up. I’m still working on getting through my maracuja concealer from Tarte. I like that one and I use only a tiny, the Smallest, amount! Many people don’t like that concealer, but I do because it covers up my very dark circles, and keeps them covered all day. I haven’t even tried Shape Tape yet, but I want to.

    This was very helpful. I have been having similar issues. I did notice when I cut back on my Bye Bye product it looked less dry. Also I warm it up by rubbing it in with my fingers it looked less caked. I do think I need a thicker moisturizer to help with my IT powdered foundation in the winter. I noticed some texturing this winter that I don’t usually have in summer. So Thanks.

    Great job on the neat demo. I've been considering this IT Cosmetics compact and will now grab it. Prep looks like the key.
    On SPF, I'm sorry to quibble, but I'm still not sure that interpretation is clear. SPF 50 usually does contain more active ingredients than a similar SPF 30 product, although for some reason the addition doesn't improve protection much at all. That's why some docs don't care if we stop at SPF 30.
    Dr Sam Bunting says SPF isn't additive, either - so an SPF 50 product on top of a SPF 30 product does not give us SPF 80. It just makes it likely that we won't miss any spots.
    Apparently we should reapply SPF during the day if outdoors, because whether we use SPF 30 or SPF 50 we're not protected for multiple hours. Most of us don't use enough foundation to get good SPF coverage ear to ear, and we smear or sweat off most of it by midday anyway. The point is that the SPF numbers can create a false sense of security.
    The powder compact would be a great way to top off SPF during a bright outdoorsy day.
    Also it's apparently very important to look for UVA *and* UVB protection carefully on the label, because we need both components to minimize the carious types of ageing and cancer causing effects of excess sun exposure.

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  6 років тому

    Thank you! I revisited my tube of It Undereye after watching how to use it correctly and liked it much more! Also, since I live in Tampa I always welcome extra SPF so I went ahead and purchased the compact you used....I had been nervous about looking too powdery at my age (almost 70) but yay....what a pleasant surprise. I used the Elemis Marine Oil and Elemis Marine Cream moisturizer underneath and lets it sink in for a while first. Thanks for the "make sure to be well moisturized" advice. Yay! PS Have you tried the Elemis products? They are pricey and I'd love to get your feelings on if they are actually worth it. I haven't used them long enough to decide.

    I also thought that a higher SPF meant that is was a stronger level of sunscreen protection. I now know the real tea about the sunscreen numbers and what they mean. It is good to know this and everyone will think I am so smart, lol. I also want to ask about comparing liquid foundations with powder foundations. I use to always use a powder foundation Bare Minerals, but my daughter told me it didn't look as good as she thought a liquid foundation and so I switched. I feel like I do look more natural and better then the Powder Foundations. What is your favorite liquid or powder? I also want to ask if you have ever used an airbrushing tool and if you think that they work better then our brushes and sponges? I am thinking of investing in one and wanted to know what you thought about air brushing foundation first. Thank you as always Lisa, you are a rare gem!

I think I want to try some and start a nice make up routine because the older I get I feel like my skin color is so splotchy on my face and it makes me self conscious .. I’m turning 40 this year and I have never been a Makeup person but these skin changes are bugging me .. I just don’t know where to start. I loved your video ! I will be watching more ! Thank you!

      Lisa J I sure will! I had hope to do some research tonight but my brain is too tired! I am heading to ulta tomorrow for a few of the 50% off products. I’m hoping they will help me at least figure out shade then I can go from there ! Can you just come to Florida and take me shopping ? Lol I have a hard time trusting people in stores because I know they are on a commission. I know they would not intentionally steer me wrong but I feel they would encourage me to purchase no matter what lol ugh send some prayers up for me lol

    Have you ever tried the Alima pure liquid foundation? I love the powder but I recently bought the liquid and I'm honestly not loving it! It streaks and makes my nose look patchy! If you have tried it do you have any tips to make it look better? Or is it just not a great product? Thank you!! 😊

    I ADORE bye bye under eye by IT. I cannot find anything else that compares. And I have tried. I use such a small dot then spread on each finger, getting it warm then spread it under my eyes with my fingers. I just started setting it with the IT translucent powder.

    Drunk Elephant as at the 1st July 2018 have CONFIRMED that they hav NOT changed both DE Umbra Sheer standard version or and the Umbra Tinte SPF. This is via their IG instagram page.
    The Mica will be removed over a course of a few months and this has not commenced as yet. DE will advise their customers/followers, via their IG page once this has been completed, ie the ingredient MICA has been removed from BOTH versions of the Umbra SPF product.
    There is a lot of confusion regarding this. You have Umbra Tinte with the original formulation which includes the MICA INGREDIENT.
    You can contact DE should you have further questions, via email or IG, instagram.

    Another great video, Lisa! My question is related to something entirely different. I've watched your video about lash extensions and wanted to know, when you are in the shower, do you have to prevent the water from hitting your face? I know that sounds crazy but I'm very interested in having them but not sure I can maintain the careful upkeep. Thanks!

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  6 років тому

      Hi Jill... I don't really put my face directly in the shower stream.... they do get wet though.. I just don't let the water run over it. I'm use to it now and I don't feel it to be a lot of maintenance (even though I do wash my face differently) .. of course the 2 week appts are a lot to keep up with but as far as my day to day routine.. it doesn't really interfere.

    Did you put the IT powder under your eyes too? As an older sub, I have a real problem with concealer, as the skin under my eyes is so thin. I moisturize the heck out of my eyes, and still most concealers just sit there and don't absorb into the skin. I pat, not swipe, and do all the right things! The only thing that works for me is No.7 Radiant Concealer (like Touche Eclat - only less expensive!), but it doesn't last - even with a light powdering, but fortunately you can add it on top of powder and it doesn't cake.

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  6 років тому +1

      Hi! I don't use the IT powder under my eye. I find it to be too heavy for that delicate skin.. I like to use Laura Mercier Secret brightening powder or Danessa Myricks 01 powder. .both are very lightweight . I will have to try that No7 product. Thank you!

    Does it bother your eyes? The sunscreen. I have trouble with that but maybe I can buy that one. My favorite sunscreen is by Tacha but it has a hefty price and I go through them like candy.. so have tried many to try and replace but has been hard maybe I should give this one a try..

    DE lala creme wasn't enough for me in the winter, needed the big guns, perricone md hypo allergenic (green jar), not that Im sensitive but the moisturising capability is wonderful. Im clearly that bit more dryer than you Lisa. The extra expense of the Perr md is absolutely warranted.

    Hi Lisa! I'm in my late 20s and love following you over younger UA-camrs because your product choices and application techniques are so professional yet easy to follow and learn. You clearly know your stuff! :) I have a question unrelated to this video but I thought I'd post here since you mentioned you'd be featuring a question - would you mind doing a video on how to keep your eyeliner from smudging or falling? I love Loreal eyeliners but I"ve noticed they fall or smudge from the lower lash line by the end of the day ( in fact, even sometimes from the upper lash line on the outer corners) - I should mention I have extremely long eyelashes (thanks to genetics) and tend to laugh-cry a lot - not a bad problem to have ;) - so I really need some tips on this!!

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  6 років тому

      Hi Amoha! This is such a great question! Unfortunately there can be so many variables that cause this... If ti happens on both the upper and lower.. its probably the eye liner... I would look for something waterproof. There are lots of pencils, pens and gel liners that are waterproof. If its more on the lower than the upper, it could be concealer is not setting and warming up on the skin causing it to break down the eyeliner. Is your skin on the oiler side? Or do you live in a hot climate?

    • @amohabajaj4327
      @amohabajaj4327 6 років тому

      Thanks for your response Lisa! My skin is definitely on the oily side. I just got married recently and my make up artist did a phenomenal job and brought out all her matte and waterproof products that took such great care of me all day :) I am actually from New Jersey so not a hot climate but I'll play around with setting my concealer better - that's a good idea. I use the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer that's so popular on UA-cam. I"ll try using a smaller brush for my loose powder for the under eye area and giving it time before I do my eyes. Thanks again and keep up the good work on youtube :) glad to hear you're full time now!

    Lisa, loving your info filled videos! Could you please do a tutorial on how to do brows? My brows haven't grown back fully due to medication and I'm struggling to find a natural and realistic way of doing my brows. There are many tutorials on UA-cam, but I don't really like the Instagram/drag queen look for myself. I want my brows to look as natural as possible AND I need them to stay on all day! Sweat proof brows help needed!
    I'm particularly struggling with finding a thin enough brow brush so I can draw in individual hairs (not entire brow, but here and there). Any tips?

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  6 років тому +1

      Hi! Have you tried the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz or the NYX Microbrow? I like both of those for a very fine thin pencil. I don't have too much experience with any brow pens, but that might be worth a try? Also, this may be more extreme than you want to do but I got microblading done (I have a video on it) and that could be an option for you?

    Lisa you are so pretty with your bare skin...lol. Thank you for info. I have one of the It cosmetics powder foundation love how fast it is, but can look cakey...I will try to use it with your moisturizer tips. Question...I thought the longer you wait to put foundation on the better, like 30 min. ?? How long do you recommend? Thank you

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  6 років тому

      Hi Katrina! I think it really depends on the skincare you are using and how your skin absorbs it. After a few minutes my skin has absorbed most products but I still feel a little supple feel to my skin, which I prefer when applying makeup because it gives it adheres to my skin better. When my skin is bone dry makeup just looks heavier.
