PSA: I worked at Target as a beauty consultant and we can help you find the correct match for you - we’re allowed to open products and give out samples and things like that :) So if you see any employees in the cosmetics section, don’t be afraid to ask. Same for Walgreens! There aren’t beauty consultants in every single store but it’s a nice thing to know! Drugstores are stepping up their game.
I did not have any luck with local Sephora either, sort of dark and to be honest I could not tell in the mirror she had me look at it in, until I got home. In hindsight , will go out to the car in daylight since the store is so dark. They should have a well lit mirror or something , maybe like make up depts in stores have, not one of those mirrors glued on the columns in the store Have not been back
I got "shade matched" at a Sephora and to be fair, color looked great in store. As soon as I got out in more natural lighting, I looked like a ghost. I paid $40 for foundation that wasn't even remotely my shade. 😂😂😂
I have ALWAYS been mismatched. I have olive skin with rosacea so I’ve been matched with pink undertones due to the rosacea and yellow undertones due to color of my neck, but pink always looks horrible and unnatural and yellow always pulls way too yellow due to the olive undertones. I have only ever found 2 foundations that really match me perfectly
I’m Italian with olive skin (tan so easily & never burn). I was always told that I have yellow undertones. However, I personally have always thought that every foundation I’ve ever used made me look yellow or orange so I eventually just gave up and quit wearing foundation. I recently decided to give it another go but have started buying neutral foundations. They seem to work for me so I guess having olive skin doesn’t necessarily mean you’re definitely a warm/yellow undertone.
Dior has specific olive foundations in their new foundation line. They have a greenish tint to them which works great for us olive girls. Sephora just did a video on matching olive undertones. I also am olive but light to medium skin.
I just started working as a beauty advisor at Ulta and the hardest thing for me has been helping color match customers without being able to use testers and finding the undertones but this video honestly helped break it down sooo much!!
Omg!! All your friends were so sweet!!! Kelly melted my heart!! Her excitement when she saw the final look was sooo cute!! ❤️ So helpful! I always thought I had more yellow undertones, but after watching this, I was like, “girl , what world are you living in?? You’re clearly neutral!” 🤣 Someone lied to me!! 😂😂 Thanks for the help! ❤️
April Cicalese Right?! Me too! I guess I’ve always found more yellow toned foundations to be flattering on my skin, but here we are!! 😂 Off I go to try a neutral shade! 💁🏻♀️
I've tried to understand undertones for years and defaulted to neutral to avoid the issue. It works for me and you just explained why it works. Thank you!
I went to Maybelline New York store for getting correct concealer and the sales person said we always buy the same shade in concealer as the skin colour, and he handed me Light shade in Maybelline age rewind concealer. When I used it my make-up routine I started to look pale white that's why concealer guide is much more needed for me
Muskan thakur I know this is an old post but a shade that matches you perfectly is for actually concealing blemishes, freckles or scars. Most professionals say to buy one shade lighter used to brighten under eyes and highlight nose forehead etc if you like to do that step. But then there's color corrector for darker pigmentation which I believe is a salmon color and green to help with redness. There's so much to knee so yes a video would be great but I hope this helps you choose a concealer! 😀
Great video Lisa! I felt as though I was in a mini makeup class. Your instruction and demos on your friends were important because as a visual learner, it drove it home for me. Thank you again! Your models were wonderful!
OMG! This is one of the BEST how-to foundation vids I’ve ever seen! Thank you for using a variety of people - shades and ages! 👏👏👏 Could you do more vids like this, pretty please? My request: A pale woman in her 50s with dry skin, some wrinkles, and green color corrector needed. (I mean, if you have someone like that. If not, I’ll volunteer. 😁)
This is so enlightening! Wish you could make this a series...Maybe go into finishes like matte, dewy, satin etc. Thank you so much. Need to share this with makeup loving friends.
This is soooo helpful to see it on actual people. Your friends all have beautiful skin and are very pretty. Thank you Lisa. Please keep this educational series going!
Thank you. First one of these videos I've seen that addresses someone with a yellow neck but lots of pink coming through. I'm slightly paler though. It's so hard to pick a drugstore foundation.
I’m so glad you talked about Mac being opposite on how to pick undertone!! Why do they identify pinks as warm and yellow as cool? What’s the thought process on that? Great tutorial sweet Lisa!!😘😘😘
OMG exactly my thought. I went on and bought my first mac foundation, believing W was meant for my warm undertone, only to realize the opposite when I played with Sephora app recently. Explains why my foundation has always looked off urghh
Thank you so much for this video, Lisa! Yes, please do more education/technique-related ones, especially featuring people with diverse skin tones, ages, and skin types all in one video. You must really have been a very effective trainer at MAC.
So helpful! I never buy drug store foundation because I don’t know how to pick the right undertone or get confused with the names. I would always get color matched at Sephora and end up paying more than I want. Thank you!
I do like that L'Oréal 24 hour foundation. not too matte and definitely not too hydrating. I also use the hydrating infallible version of this also on certain days. I think some drugstore foundations work pretty darn good, and are decently long lasting, especially for the drugstore price. I really like L'Oréal s products for the most part. thank you for doing these types of videos. very helpful. and you always seem to put be in a better mood because of your sense of humor, disposition, and of course content of your videos. you do have a knack for doing these. and honestly your videos and tutorials are the only ones I look forward to opening and watching. happy St Valentine's day, girl. keep up the positive upbeat attitude. btw ,your make up always looks so nice. but you have very nice skin to begin with. I always like a more natural makeup look. thanks again. Jean.
Suggestion: Please teach how to camouflage deep hollow under eyes. I have a major dip under my eyes. Concealers take away the dark shadow but doesn't cure the dip. Putting powder under my eyes to hide it makes it look ashy, gray, dull and ruins the look. I have yet to find a youtube video that can show how to make them disappear
Mtmacski M tip: use your regular concealer (assuming that it’s similar to your skin colour) and put it on like usual, and blend it out, then put a lighter concealer, but only on the actual indent. It makes it look more smooth, and the indent is less visible (but it doesn’t make them completely disappear, in some lightings, it will cast shadows which will make the indents visible)
As helpful and easy to follow as I've come to expect and enjoy. You are so kind, so calm and almost nurturing to your audience, and I really appreciate it.
I also sincerely enjoyed this video hey. It’s so educational. I love the mix of theory (telling us about undertones) and the practical component where you demonstrated it on actual different undertones. This is literally the first UA-cam makeup vid that’s like this. I’m inspired and encourage you to continued making your vids this way. Thank you girl😇
I’ve officially just subscribed. Can’t wait to follow what else you’ll be doing next. I’ll Defs suggest a few things once I’ve viewed the kind of content you have on your channel Lisa. Thanks so much.
Lisa, You are STUNNING! You are so beautiful to the eye but have such a sweet soul and kind voice. I am so very impressed with your video. So impressed that I will be going online tonight and ordering a new foundation! I have been in the market for one but holding off because I didn't really know how to choose. I have warm undertones, but unfortunately do not like the peachy-color blushes and eye colors! I am warm, but I LOVE cool! SO, I try to go with neutral, as much as I can get by with. You are so great at what you do! I learned a LOT, and this 65yo bird doesn't often learn something new! I mean that...you're video was SO easy to follow and learn from and you are so easy to learn from. You probably should have been a grade school teacher, but I'm glad you went this way. Now, I need some serious brow help. My brows are light brown to blond, but only a thin (like pencil lead thin!) line of hair. I don't know what to do! I've got lots of stuff, but not having much luck. I don't have much to hide, just want to be pretty for my age and enhance what God gave me. BTY...can you do my makeup and I can win a car like Kelly??? Love you, dear. God bless you on your journey. Oh...I subscribed and hit the bell!🤗❤️️😷
Thank you so much for this! Dept store foundations can be extremely pricey so I choose to find a quality drugstore alternative. The problem-overwhelming number of shades and choosing the right one without the rep testing them on you! I have gone to the drugstore so often for a foundation and have walked out simply because I didn’t know where to begin to choose the correct shade! Thank you Lisa! ❤️
This was so interesting. I honestly thought when you swatched, that the classic tan was too yellow for her, but it blended really well on her skin. Thanks for the tips!
Oh my goodness Lisa, I don’t recall when but maybe about 4 or so months ago I stumbled across your UA-cam channel and THANK GOODNESS I DID!! You are so sweet, soooo helpful and informative and I absolutely love your videos bc you truly were meant to make videos helping, teaching and sharing your wisdom and knowledge of makeup artistry!! If you didn’t make videos then I would attend seminars or classes if you held them! You have a beautiful gift of patience, kindness, and explaining things thoroughly but while providing examples and visuals and always so that it actually makes complete sense!! AND your enthusiasm and love for what you do, plus your fun personality and great and always interesting content, makes it so it’s never boring! I never find myself losing interest or focus or having to rewind bc I completely zoned out, and you never talk or go through anything too fast!! I’ve learned so much from you in just the short time I’ve been watching you, actually I’ve learned more from you in that time esp on a couple of my most difficult makeup application techniques, than I’ve learned in the probably 7 or more years I’ve been watching makeup tutorials on UA-cam! LoL. True story. I’m studying to become a certified makeup artists and there are just a couple things that I have down that I can do on others, but on myself - HAHAHA!!! 🤪 However, this video was so much needed, for myself, so THANK YOU!! I keep telling everyone that I can’t go by my veins when it comes to my undertones and I know I’m a neutral, bc cool tones look waaaaay to light and turn my face pink, but warm tones also make me look yellow. I started looking for neutral tones and found that they typically matched my skin perfectly and started getting a lot of compliments on my foundation lol. But when I asked an employee at Sephora AND Ulta to help match me and find my undertone, neither one could when looking at my veins! 🤪 but this was truly helpful bc I wasn’t aware of the shades you mentioned being considered as “neutrals”. Thank you and PLEASE keep the “learning” videos like this coming!! You are so beautiful, inside and out!! Xoxoxo Lots of love!!
Girl this is the best freakin tutorial to find your undertone that i have watched to date.... never have i found my shade and i have been at a loss. That is until i watched your videos. I am porcelain white as the snow in the winter or if i stay inside all summer and then the second i see sunlight i tan like no other. It is really bizarre for me. Thank you! What helped most from your video was the models for sure!
I really like that you showed different shades on the skin next to each other and then picked the best match based on undertone. That was really helpful instead of just telling us what you chose.
Thank you, very helpful for someone new to the makeup world. My makeup only consisted of tinted chapstick but as I’m getting older I can see I can use a little boost. I get overwhelmed with the whole thing of the whole skin tone. Thank you very informative ☺️👍
For anyone on their own shopping for foundation( due to COVID) a great one to try is L’Oréal True Match!! I wear it and I cannot find Any other foundation that matches my skin exactly like this one does!! They have so many shades you can’t go wrong!!❤️ L’Oréal!! I am a N3 which means I am neutral toned. They have cool and warm tones too!
Yaass!! I have been using foundation Maybelline 35 Nude Beige for years and powder L’Oréal True Match powder in W4 The last couple months I noticed it wasn’t looking good on my skin. Maybe due to suntan or my eye bags getting darker. Greenish/Blue color. I ran out and was going to buy again in a darker shade but out of stock. I took a chance on L’Oréal True Match foundation in shade N3 and also got the powder in N3 and omg!!! Perfect match!!! Im glad I switched!! I had the power W4 in my basket but noticed it was all cracked and it was the last one so that is why I also got powder in N3. Best choice!!!
When I was using the Nude Beige foundation from Maybelline and L’Oréal Powder in W4, you could see the dark greenish/blue bags under my eye and made them look worse like I was trying to cover up a black eye. Well let me tell you using N3 blends so perfectly and you cannot see my bags 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I agree. True Match is amazing. The best match I ever found for my skin is their cool 2.5, but it’s hard to find, unfortunately. Most stores do not have it. They only have 2 and 3.
This was an awesome video! It was so helpful to see the differences between your friends' skin tones and undertones and how you matched the foundation. Kelly's reaction was especially cute! Thank you for describing the color names because I've been buying beige but I think I'm neutral. This will definitely help me get a better foundation match. 👏🏻👏🏻❤️
The veins in my wrist are blue but I'm very much a warm. I've even had my colors professionally done. Like a blue red lipstick looks horrible on me but a tomato red is perfect.
I notice that you have a a beautiful connection with your friends. They love and trust you and are excited to be able to assist you with your video. I pay attention to such important details in human interactions. Tells us alot about other's.
I've been obsessed with this undertone thing for a while, and I always complain about people talking about different undertones but not actually showing even a picture to make it clearer. This was hands down the best video I've seen on the subject. You are great at explaining and, again, I think demonstrating on models was a stroke of brillance and very generous of you to take the time to do all that. Thank you!
Once again-you are the best-I sound like a broken record but you truly make videos that are not frequent on YT!!! You are almost at 100K subscribers---NO SURPRISE!!!!! xoxo
Just now watched this the end of December '21 & found it quite pertinent! I've always thought Neutral was a non-precise designation, but you've convinced me otherwise. Thank you for having models!
Bless you so much. In the past winter I have purchased 5-6 foundations and returned them, or tossed them out, because of this very problem!!! I gave up and stopped wearing anything but sunscreen and mascara.
Thank you Lisa, I’ve always considered my undertone to be more yellow but I’ll see if a more neutral to yellow may work better. This is a great teaching video and you explain everything well. Thanks so much. ❤️
When I go to sephora they always match me to my jaw area and the foundation ends up looking off. Next time I’m going to ask them to match me to my neck/body. Thank you for the great advice!!! 💕
For working in a shop like that all those Sephora beauty advisors should really have more knowledge. And the lighting in there is literally terrible. Atleast at nine.
Very informative. I always have trouble buying foundation so I skip it all together and get tinted moisturizer... can you please make a video of your eye makeup with Kelly?
Thank you for doing this with models of different ethnicities. When so-called beauty gurus swatch only on themselves, people of different ethnicities can't really be sure it will work on their skin tones. 💗💗💗
I love this video. I’m glad you were very clear about the skin tones. Sometimes people can’t see the undertone or maybe they don’t know what to look at closely. Lots of us have golden & pink dancing around in our skin. Also lots of Rosacea plays a part in getting the best match. Maybe a video about the best way to work with your rosacea skin would be helpful too. This condition can be tricky. Thanks for your tips, 👍🏻
Great video! I think for Kelly the 111 Soft Sable may be better. I couldn't see it when you swatched it on her, yet the 109 was very yellowy. I definitely think she's more neutral. I'm neutral also. Great job though overall!!
Very informative Lisa! One of the most helpful tips I learned was key words that mean either cool, neutral or warm in drugstore foundations. They don’t always say and it’s so hard to find matches sometimes so that was very helpful. Thank you!
Ok this is amazing Lisa! ❤ Your bringing something very different and so useful to the UA-cam platform! ❤ You are have a gift for teaching, please keep bringing instructional videos like that, it really sets you apart from the rest❤ Your the best Lisa, keep up the amazing work! ❤❤❤❤
I just happened upon your channel and I watch a lot of makeup videos online but your one video on foundation taught me so much than all the others. Thank you so much.
This was one of my favorite videos, Lisa! Not only is it a topic I seriously struggle with, I loved you having your friends to match foundations on. It is very helpful to see other skin types and shades and I just really enjoyed the whole thing. I learned to match my chest rather than under my neck/jaw line and I learned neutral is probably good for me because it has both red and yellow.
Jessica has similar skin tone to mine, probably a fraction darker, so this video was really helpful. I am always tempted to go with the darker of two shades but recognise that you are correct in choosing the lighter shade for Jessica and that the same would be true for my own skin as it would look far more natural on me. I usually want to try the darker more golden shade because I actually don’t like how fair my skin is, but as I am getting older (I am 69) I think acceptance of the reality of my complexion will hopefully produce a more flattering result. So thanks so much for the video.
Thank you so much for doing all of these type of educational makeup videos!! They are needed & are very helpful!! There are so many people doing makeup today that didn't go to school to get properly educated on makeup & all the knowledge needed to do a proper makeup application. So they are just mimicking what they see different UA-camrs doing. Everyone's face isn't the same, so you shouldn't apply makeup as if it is..
Lisa ! I really love how you teach! I’m trying to teach myself via UA-cam on how to do make up and your videos definitely are super helpful! Thank you!
I love how gentle you are with your models. Great demonstration! I have olive skin tone with ruddy undertone and blue/green veins. SA's always recommend foundation that looks like mustard on my skin. So I've always shied away from liquid foundation. You really validated my perception that yellow toned foundation is not for me. I love your brush that has a missing handle, I have many of those. Thanks for your super informative video.
Excellent job, Lisa! You have tackled such a difficult issue for choosing foundation. Was there a reason for choosing the matte over the glow foundation? I like both looks, but over 50, living in Florida, with “normal/dry skin, I steer away from matte foundations. Would you agree?
This is a VERY helpful video. I'm 55 and want to be careful about how I wear foundation. I always believed less is more. And I've had compliments on how my makeup was done. I learned a lot from experts how to apply it. I'm not afraid to ask for help if I need it!!! Thank you for a great video.
Hands down the best video I have watched to explain undertones and how to find your shade and I loved seeing how L'Oréal infallible foundation worked..... Thank you soooooo much for doing this!!!!
What a fantastic video! Thanks to you and your gerogeous models! 💖 I have still a question.. Has discoleration an influence on the undertone? I have red, olive, yellow, blue and green colors on my skin.. All colors available here.. 😱🙄🤯🙈 So what is the undertone and what the discoleration? I'm a bit lost.. 🙁
This was so helpful! I’m just like Jessica and you answered my lifelong question of which color to choose, wow! Your friends are absolutely beautiful! Please bring back your friend Kathy, 63 and looks 43! I can’t believe how young she looked!💖
Yes, Walgreens is. And you can return a foundation in Walgreens if you just buy one and get it home and it's not the right shade.
peachy75019 yep! same for target!
That is so helpful to know! Thank you so much!
sunny ray that is great to know! Thank you so much for that info!
So far I've had my best foundation matching experience at a Walgreen's. That girl was spot on!
Finally, a makeup artist who takes the time to demonstrate with models how to choose a good color for foundation !!!!!
Very informative. Best tip: when deciding between two shades, go with the lighter shade and adjust with bronzer. Dynamite! Thank you, Lisa.
Ditto!
The employees at our local Ulta and Sephora *need* to watch this! They can't find your correct color to save their lives!
I did not have any luck with local Sephora either, sort of dark and to be honest I could not tell in the mirror she had me look at it in, until I got home. In hindsight , will go out to the car in daylight since the store is so dark. Yes! Big facts!
Exactly!! Ulta Estée Lauder rep matched me with Ivory Beige when my skin is way more warm than cool....I looked so grey and returned it.
I have ALWAYS been mismatched. I have olive skin with rosacea so I’ve been matched with pink undertones due to the rosacea and yellow undertones due to color of my neck, but pink always looks horrible and unnatural and yellow always pulls way too yellow due to the olive undertones. Yes, it definitely does not! I hope this helped a bit! Thanks Lauren! :)
I need to start trying neutral tones. ........
Lauren Kalbach this is my issue as well; I’ve always been told I have warm undertones but I’m way happier with neutral tones.
Dior has specific olive foundations in their new foundation line. They have a greenish tint to them which works great for us olive girls. Sephora just did a video on matching olive undertones. I also am olive but light to medium skin.
SAME HERE!!!!! Just recently found out!!
I just started working as a beauty advisor at Ulta and the hardest thing for me has been helping color match customers without being able to use testers and finding the undertones but this video honestly helped break it down sooo much!!

Thanks for the help! ❤️
corrietwinb exactly what I thought after watching this! It's like Lisa was in my house yelling "you are neutral!" Going to get a new foundation asap!!
Lol! I’m so glad this was helpful! Thanks Corrie!
Lol! Thank you April!
April Cicalese Right?! Me too! I guess I’ve always found more yellow toned foundations to be flattering on my skin, but here we are!! 😂 Off I go to try a neutral shade! 💁🏻♀️
Lisa is an excellent instructor. I love how she uses four different skin tones in this video.
Omg, kamal is gorgeous even without makeup. 😍
I've tried to understand undertones for years and defaulted to neutral to avoid the issue. It works for me and you just explained why it works. Thank you!
Good for you that you have such a diverse group of friends. Right on!
Lisa, I love all your videos and stories, but these type of tutorials is where you really shine! You are a natural at it. Your friend Kelly is a doll!
please do for how to choose for correct concealer and contour shade
YES. And can we add on blush? I try everything and it's all fail.
Muskan thakur yes u would like that too
I went to Maybelline New York store for getting correct concealer and the sales person said we always buy the same shade in concealer as the skin colour, and he handed me Light shade in Maybelline age rewind concealer. So glad to hear! Thanks Jan!
@@lisajmakeup Would have been helpful to see you match the under-represented olive undertone.
Absolutely genius. Where have u been all my life. Uh completely just changed everything for me. God bless u!!!
OMG! This is one of the BEST how-to foundation vids I’ve ever seen! Thank you for using a variety of people - shades and ages! 👏👏👏 Could you do more vids like this, pretty please? JP M agreed 👏🏼👏🏼
Yes please that would be amazing
This could get weird. She just starts approaching strangers who have your skin....lol.
Check out hot and flashy! She does great videos and has many of the aspects you speak of!
This is so enlightening! Wish you could make this a series...Maybe go into finishes like matte, dewy, satin etc. Thank you so much. Need to share this with makeup loving friends.

It can be so tough! Hope this helps!
I’m so glad you talked about Mac being opposite on how to pick undertone!! Why do they identify pinks as warm and yellow as cool? What’s the thought process on that? Great tutorial sweet Lisa!!😘😘😘
Agreed!
I had always believed it was NC = Needs Cool and NW = Needs Warm, which would explain the opposite tones. Too much to think about for makeup! ; )
I always thought it was not cool and not warm but you’re right that it doesn’t mean anything that makes sense.
Beauty and the Boat that's how I remember their system lol. I'm warn toned and I'm a NC, so "not cool" is how I remember 🤗
OMG exactly my thought. I went on and bought my first mac foundation, believing W was meant for my warm undertone, only to realize the opposite when I played with Sephora app recently. Explains why my foundation has always looked off urghh

Drugstores allow you to return makeup, if it doesn't work out for you.
The vein test was always confusing to me...then I found out I am color blind!
The vein test is confusing to me, too. But I guess I'm just stupid 😂
😂😂😂😂😂💯💯💯
That would tend to make it difficult.
I can’t define my colors, I see blue, green and a little of purple. Also I get burns easily? Not sure if I’m cool or neutral??😢
Doesn't help when you can barely see your veins
Suggestion: Please teach how to camouflage deep hollow under eyes. I have a major dip under my eyes. Concealers take away the dark shadow but doesn't cure the dip. Yes...Yes...Yes PLEASE.
Filler?
Yes please help! I have dark and hollow deep set under eyes
Yes that would be a huge help to me!

Great educational video Lisa! Very useful information. I really enjoy this type of content.
Thank you Julie!
This was great Lisa! I love Kelly's reaction. It's a great feeling when you actually love the way your make-up (especially foundation) looks!
Yes! Thanks Joann!
This was so interesting. I honestly thought when you swatched, that the classic tan was too yellow for her, but it blended really well on her skin. Thanks for the tips!
So happy to hear that! Thanks Kathy! :)
yeah i still think it was a tiny bit too yellow... but doesnt look bad
All great matches! Your friends are so sweet and Kelly's reaction was great when she saw herself after.❤
Yay! Thank you so much Belinda!
Thank you for these types of videos. I have learned something from each one. Also, do another video with Kelly. She is so much fun to watch!
Yay! Thank you Sue!
Love the education videos!
Kelly was a doll! You should bring her on more often as your model to demonstrate. Her enthusiasm was infectious!
Yay! Thank you Dawn! :)
So glad this was helpful! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! So glad this was helpful!
Live models make ALL the difference for understanding this topic! Thank you to these beautiful women, too!!! You all are gorgeous!!
Drugstores here in Australia have testers for all makeup including foundation
This was an awesome video! It was so helpful to see the differences between your friends' skin tones and undertones and how you matched the foundation. Kelly's reaction was especially cute! Thank you for describing the color names because I've been buying beige but I think I'm neutral. This will definitely help me get a better foundation match. 👏🏻👏🏻❤️
So glad to hear it will be helpful! Thank you Lily! :)
So helpful !!!!!! You really can't understand it without the visual on various skin tones. Thankyou !!!!
Kelly is gorgeous!!! I realize I have been wearing mine too light , I’m just not sure what my undertone is
You really nailed it for each woman’s skin color. Thank you! Helpful video👍👍👍👍👍
You have such beautiful friends with kind hearts! Thank you for this video...so much information.
Aww that is so sweet! Thank you!
You are almost at 100K subscribers---NO SURPRISE!!!!! xoxo
Awww thank you Jill!! :)
Just now watched this the end of December '21 & found it quite pertinent! I've always thought Neutral was a non-precise designation, but you've convinced me otherwise. Thank you for having models!
Yes, love this kind of video and I loved that you took the time to bring your 4 friends on, they’re so lovely! 💜
Yay! Thank you so much Jess!
Yes, I love that you added that tip about using neutral foundations if you have both yellow and pink undertones
Lovely ladies, I fall in love with Kelli, what a wonderful energy she exudes, very useful video, thanks so much.
Thank you so much Ursula!
I have not seen more detailed and so well explained video anywhere else. Thank you for such an informative video.
This is hands down the most informative video I have ever come across. Thank you 🙏🏽
Yay! Thank you so much Melissa!
Bless you so much. In the past winter I have purchased 5-6 foundations and returned them, or tossed them out, because of this very problem!!! I gave up and stopped wearing anything but sunscreen and mascara.
This was the best lesson I've ever seen on undertones! I've always found it so confusing. Thank you....I love the teaching videos!
Yay! Thank you Beth! :)
Your one of the most sweetest youtubers. Your friends seem to be the perfect reflection of you. 😊
Thank you Lisa, I’ve always considered my undertone to be more yellow but I’ll see if a more neutral to yellow may work better. This is a great teaching video and you explain everything well. Thanks so much. ❤️
Great! Thank you so much! :)
I feel much more confident in selecting an drugstore foundation now. Thank you !!
When I go to sephora they always match me to my jaw area and the foundation ends up looking off. Next time I’m going to ask them to match me to my neck/body. Thank you for the great advice!!! 💕
Great! Thank you so much!
For working in a shop like that all those Sephora beauty advisors should really have more knowledge. And the lighting in there is literally terrible. Atleast at nine.
Kamal’s hair is so pretty. Kelly is a doll. She does not need makeup, oh to be so beautiful!
Thank you Pat and thanks so much for your suggestion! Adding it to my list!
I ran into this video randomly and it is simply amazing! I love the way you explained the undertones and your side to side foundation swatch demos!!
Great video👍 It is very hard choosing the perfect foundation from a drugstore, but this video has helped tremendously❤️
So glad to hear! Thanks Theresa!
Great video! I think for Kelly the 111 Soft Sable may be better. I couldn't see it when you swatched it on her, yet the 109 was very yellowy. I definitely think she's more neutral. I'm neutral also. Great job though overall!!
Kelly doesn’t need foundation. Her complexion is amazing.
Ring light
Very informative Lisa! One of the most helpful tips I learned was key words that mean either cool, neutral or warm in drugstore foundations. They don’t always say and it’s so hard to find matches sometimes so that was very helpful. Thank you!
Ok this is amazing Lisa! ❤ Your bringing something very different and so useful to the UA-cam platform! ❤ You are have a gift for teaching, please keep bringing instructional videos like that, it really sets you apart from the rest❤ Your the best Lisa, keep up the amazing work! ❤❤❤❤
D'accord!
What a great and informative video Lisa. I have finally found my undertone. Love all your videos ! Thanks again!
This is so helpful. Do you have any tips for picking the best lipstick color to match and complement your face makeup?
I just happened upon your channel and I watch a lot of makeup videos online but your one video on foundation taught me so much than all the others. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for filming videos like this! They are so informative and helpful!
Great! So glad you liked it! Thanks!
Thank you for making this video, it really helped me understand more.
So glad to hear! Thanks Rebecca!
Just to clarify, if I’m a NW, I would look for porcelain rose or coco type names.
Thank you!
Thanks Vicky! :)
Loved this but your friends were adorable - loved Kelly! ♥ Elle
Yay! Thanks Elle!
The medium olive skin tome - your second model needed more green in her foundation. Super video and thank you for making it.
Thanks for the tips!
My issue is my face is darker than the rest of my body! So sad
Lisa Id love to see you do more model demos like this!!! Super helpful and Fun!!!
Kelly should be a model...she is GORGEOUS...a striking smile.
Hands down the best tutorial I've seen on foundation matching to skin tones. Thank you
Having different women with different skintone is very useful, thank you!
Great! Thank you so much!
Went back to watch this older video. This was so informative! Love it
Thank you so much for this video. I really needed this.......VERY helpful :)
Yay! Thank you! :)
Hands down the best video I have watched to explain undertones and how to find your shade and I loved seeing how L'Oréal infallible foundation worked..... Thank you soooooo much for doing this!!!!
What a fantastic video! Thanks to you and your gerogeous models! 💖
I have still a question.. Has discoleration an influence on the undertone? I have red, olive, yellow, blue and green colors on my skin.. All colors available here.. 😱🙄🤯🙈
So what is the undertone and what the discoleration?
I'm a bit lost.. 🙁
MorgainTheFey Most times you just have to try it out. Because different formulas can oxidize, or randomly change color with your body chemistry.
@@ambergerhelper7852 Thx for your answer.. What a pitty, that there wont be an easy answer.. 😅
MorgainTheFey I know. I have to add white to just about everything!
@@ambergerhelper7852 oh nooo... That probably sucks, too.. 🙈
Are you so fair?
MorgainTheFey I am. I’m quite ghostly. 👻👻👻
This was so helpful! I’m just like Jessica and you answered my lifelong question of which color to choose, wow! Your friends are absolutely beautiful! Please bring back your friend Kathy, 63 and looks 43! I can’t believe how young she looked!💖
