Hi Marlena! I am so grateful I found you via a ‘suggestion list’!! Your treasure trove of knowledge, & experience, fascinate me. I love your style of Tutoring! Appreciate all the hard work you put in! I am learning so much from you. Thank you beautiful Lady!🙏🏻
I love that you are back to making videos. Presence of women in their 40s is so much needed. I used to follow you in my 30s and now I Follow you in my 40s. Knowledge of people like you is needed in the beauty community. Sending you love, Marlena ❤❤❤
The detailed breakdown of all the foundations was interesting and very informative. I am a drugstore gal, I’m not all about spending 40, 50, or 60 dollars on a foundation. Could you please do this same type of format for drugstore foundations? ❤
I'm 60 with normal to dryish skin-more so in the winter. I just started using the Estee Lauder Double Wear and it is AMAZING! Although it is "best" for oilier skin types according to many reviews I've seen-I find that with good skin prep-moisterizer and a good hydrating primer-it works beautifully when I add one little hack-a drop of oil mixed in ( I use RCMA thinning oil) on a palette-it then goes on like silk, doesn't cake or settle into my lines and lasts all day like a dream! So if you are someone with a little drier skin, don't run from double wear-it is my new favorite.
Marlena this was an epic master class of foundations! It wasn’t the sane old nonsense “you need this in your life” but you actually had criteria and that matters. Learned so much I think I’ll have to watch again. Thank you so much for the huge effort you put into this video. One of the, if not the best videos I’ve seen on The Who , what and how much of makeup. The OG has spoken…
I’m going to be 44 and have not worn make up in years. I have not been very focused on myself, and have decided that this year I will start as part of my new self care goals. This is the first full video I’ve watched (outside of tiktok vids) and I learned so much. Thank you!
I’m 49 and still a newbie to makeup. I was blessed w/beautiful skin but my hormones are now ruining it and need foundation now. I had no clue about any of this. Thank you so much! Oh and I appreciate you adding cruelty free foundations to the list. You are so very helpful!
I LOVE the high level of detail. Please don’t change that! It’s part of what sets you apart from other channels and makes you my FAVORITE! 😊❤ I love nerding out about make up! Yay!!
Marlena out here saving 1 cake face at a time 🥰🥰🥰🥰 thank you for staying so humble and always looking out for your customers best interest. You are the queen of makeup to me always have been and always will be.
And she's always so classy. No need to resort to slang talk and drama stuff, she just speaks clearly and eloquently and stays on point! I so appreciate this!!
I really glad I found you again. Im over 40 and would love to hear about how moisturizing and using makeup would partner together. Im looking to change my formula on my makeup so this REALLY HELPS! Keep them coming!
I love this format. I love if you shared top 10 concealers for over 40 in this exact format! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge. I’m definitely geeking out on your channel 😆🥰
I've been getting back into makeup, and being older now (30s) i feel the need to start over from beginner info in relearning tips & techniques. And *no one* makes these kinds of videos anymore with the fundamental tips/ useful info/ how-tos - can't tell you how much I appreciate that you're willing to do all these videos you've been posting lately even if it's not what's "trending". Thank you. ❤
As a working makeup artist I LOVE the in-depth!!! It's great to be able to learn from you about formulations an a deeper level aside from what is just in the product's marketing! Thanks Marlena!!❤❤
Hey Marlena!!! Ireally enjoy your point of view and your knowledge rabiates when reviewing these! I found a perfect foundation, it’s crazy becuz it’s cover girl I’ve tried all the high end too! It’s called aqua smoothersin the older packaging it dries down to powder but I’ve never looked” cakey” and im48! Th new packaging says out last all- day they’re very similar Thisis my holy grail. I friggin live it! Nowi can’t use anything else cuzi always compare it to this one. And the price is quite low. Under$10 it needs to go viral, it’s that freakin amazing
Cont… iwantedto add the pics I have I’ve had to reorder4 times and bought on for my fsmily and friends it’s so difficult to find a good foundation especially for mature skin.it’s full coverage that blends down beautifully
Marlena. Just a tip from an older gal…. I don’t see how a sponge or brush has less bacteria than your washed hands. Our skin texture is different than yours. The warmth of our hands helps blend in the foundation best to aging skin more evenly. I personally have yet to experience any breakouts from using clean hands.
Absolutely loved the video! I just wore the HAUS foundation today, in FL, and it did wonderful! Would love to see the same kind of video on primers, facial sunscreens and skin care to make-up layering. Thank you so much!
Yes!!! Nothing worse than getting ready and you look in the mirror and see that your foundation is pilling up all over the place because it doesn't play nicely with your sunscreen, primer, etc etc.... And it often takes a few attempts to find out which one throws the whole thing off. Frustrating. It only happens when I've got someplace to be too! Lol
This is a perfect video. I’m 65 and have tried so many foundations. None give me the medium coverage I am looking for. I have extra dry skin. So this detailed information is great. Now I would also need detailed information for primers 😊. Thanks so much
Your makeup is stunning. I love the detail and appreciate that you are mentioning people over 40. I am still oily over 40 and love makeup so I find this type of video to be useful and inspirational.
This breakdown on foundations for those of us over 40 was extremely informative!! I'm an MUA, but not sure I could explain this to someone as detailed as you did. ❤
I'm so glad to hear someone speak about viscosity and what tools work best with it. You and the lipstick lesbians are the only 2 I've seen go into this kind of detail. I'm here for it and I love it!! I'd even love to see more detailed in categories. I love the deep dives into make up and beauty products! I would love to see a little more drugstore/ affordable recommendations though.
I love that this video focused on the over 40 crowd. We really do have different issues to consider when purchasing products, so found this very helpful. I also loved seeing that I already have 2 of the 10! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this video Marlena! Ever since passing 40, I have struggled with dry, red, sensitive skin. These deep dive videos have been so helpful! Please continue sharing your extensive knowledge.
I’m 52 and have combo oily skin. I don’t mind because I have very few wrinkles. Very slight under my eyes but overall the oily skin is my friend lol! I prefer a satin finish ❤ This video was so informative!
My 57 year old combo/oily skin loves Armani. I use a brush but I think I might give a sponge a chance and see how it applies. Thank you Marlena for these reviews and tips. Love your videos still after all these years ❤
I first want to say that I’ve been watching UA-cam beauty videos for at least 8 years and I’ve been through the whole “this influencer made me buy this” And after a few years I figured out that most of the influencers are just trying to sell their audience stuff. So the only beauty channel I really listen to is YOU. If you are talking about something that I’m interested in or have been needing and you say a product is good, I will buy it because I know you are honest (unlike many MANY other channels.) I have always hated the feeling of liquid or cream Foundation on my face. And not only did I not like how it felt, but something about my skin in particular it not only felt, but also looked cakey. Every. One. It didn’t matter if it was the most expensive one or the cheapest drugstore Foundation. I could never find one that I liked. So I just gave up and started using powder foundation I use a concealer that is very close to my skin tone first to cover up discoloration and then the powder foundation on top. Well I can’t even remember what video it was but you mentioned the DermaBlend Flawless Creator, saying that it is so full coverage that you can use it as just concealer or you can use a tiny bit for your whole face. So I decided to order īt. OMG. That stuff is actually amazing. I put one dot on the back of my hand intending to use a little brush and spot conceal with it. Well, that product is SO thin but also SO full coverage that the one dot literally covered my whole face. I was like, this can’t be real. But it was! And like I said it’s very thin and somehow it doesn’t FEEL cakey. It actually doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything on my face when I use it. So I just want to say thank you Marlena. You are one of the only beauty channels who I actually trust your word and purchase products on your recommendation. And you’ve never failed me yet!
2 minutes in and you taught me something I’ve never heard mention! Viscosity!! I need a brush vs sponge tutorial! Everyone seems to love a sponge. But I hate it! Need to get back to watching. TIA, Marlena 💜
amazing video, i don't think any other professionnal has ever explained foundation better in a video that i have watched. i feel incredibly better now navigating these huge ranges of choice and finding one that works for my skin. thank you so much
Thank you for posting this. I think I was really overdue for a check-in with myself about my skin. I’ve been wearing the Double Wear for probably 5 years or more, but now I’m 35 and just noticed my skin isn’t ever oily anymore. It’s way more dry than it used to be. I think it’s time to try the NARS Sheer Glow!
You can mix your double wear foundation with moisturizer or an oil (and also wear a moisturizing primer underneath). The thing is, no other foundation is as long lasting as double wear. These are all good foundations but none of them last as many hours as double wear does 🤷🏻♀️
I'm new to your channel, and I have to say you're a powerhouse of an educator! I learned more from you about foundation in this video than I've ever learned from anyone in 55 years because you have a way of breaking things down into language, I understand. With each video you're building my confidence. Thank you so much for sharing your gift and being such an inspiration for other women like me❤
It would be great if there was a website where you put the name of a foundation and it automatically tells you what is it based and which is better to apply it (sponge, brush or finger)
This is so helpful and a pleasure to watch. I do wish there were more affordable options but I understand why there wasn’t. I would love to see a drugstore version of this video
Marlena is GORGEOUS and her make up always looks so flawless. New follower after using the tips from her foundation video breaking down the differences between oils, silicone and water-based foundations and primers. Gawd, my make up looked SO BAD because I was putting a silicone-based foundation on top of a sticky water-based primer ...it looked like it was peeling on my cheeks. Switching to all silicone has changed everything. THANK YOU!!!!
This video was sooo helpful. Thank you! What used to work for me no longer does (I am 48 and wears full coverage glam makeup every day even though I work by myself from home 😏) and I don't feel i get a lot of helpful advice when I go to Sephora and Ulta. Fantastic to learn from the best 🙂
I just discovered you and subscribed to your channel! Thank you so much for "geeking" out with all of your picks and the science behind it. ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉 I'm going to be 48 in 5 days. I used to LOVE doing my makeup in my 20s and 30s. Now I feel awkward and disappointed because, most of the cosmetic trends nowadays, and let's be honest, better serve younger women. It is nice to know that someone out there hasn't forgotten about us "mature" skinned women. I believe, with watching your content, I will fall in love with makeup again! Thank you again Marlena! May I also request a video on face contouring for beginners?
Think I hit gold with your video. I’m 72, dry skin, and have been looking for the past 6 months for my perfect foundation. Have tried the full spectrum from Elf to some costing over $100. Knowing the right primer and best application method is going to make a difference. Think I’m finally going to GET IT. Also watched you post on concealers. Just as informative.
As a new subscriber, I am blown away at how informative and helpful your videos are! This one in particular was very helpful. One question though, what is the best way to figure out which foundation shade is best for your skin tone? I’m always very hesitant when choosing. Thanks, Marlena! Glad I found my way over here!
Girl!!! I loved and needed this so bad!!! I’ve been watching you since my 20’s and just turned 41, you continue to inspire and help me in EVERY video. Thank you for teaching me so much. I love all the geeky details and am looking forward to many more🖤
Love this format! Very informative but fast moving which I like! I've learned so much from you! Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us! ❤
I luv, luv, loved your video!!!! I am a woman over 40 who needs insight into which foundation to choose. What I liked most about your video was that it was extremely informative and detailed. The makeup world has changed tenfold in 20 years. I’m just trying to stay updated. Thank you!!!!
I'm going to add Face Atelier as a fantastic foundation for over 40. I use it exclusively in my MUA kit and I've used it on 20 year olds and 88 year old and it's fantastic. Silicone-based, medium buildable coverage, satin finish, self-setting, Canadian-made, vegan and cruelty free!
i use the Chanel one on every day base, with no primer, and it doesn't smudge or anything.literally feels like skin,so light it is.I'm in love with it,it's my fave so far.love it love it love it😍
This was EXTREMELY informative, I personally loved it! You can go as hard as you want with ingredients, bc I absolutely love knowing the ingredients and what exactly I'm putting on my face! Thank you so much! I can't wait for the Academy! 😘
I'm happy to have found your channel. I'm over 50 and I am in a new season of my life. Makeup has not been a priority in a long time . I am eager to start this new journey in life and I have been searching for a good foundation!! Thank you 🙏 may the Lord continue to bless you and your beauty in this Business
Such a generous of her to share her deep knowledge… i love her so mich i just found her yt recently because i have to attend to the wedding and i dont have no idea about makeups
Marlena, I just found you and I’m thrilled with your content. I am 54 and I’m starting to need a change in my makeup and techniques. I would love some videos with drug store options. Also eye makeup techniques for crepey upper eyelids that is starting to create a hood effect. Thank you!
This is such a great video on how you are breaking down the ingredients and what works well with one another ❤❤❤❤❤ I heard the MAC pump works well for the Estée Lauder foundation 😊
Marlena, I love this type of content and all the information you share with your viewers! I can see and feel the passion you have for what you do, and to be so transparent, down to earth and humble to share with us, the consumers! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I would love to see a video on primers, which ones do you recommend, basically a break down of which ones are water, silicone based, which one is best for different skin types, etc.
I love the format of this video and how detailed it is. Everyone always asks me what foundation I use and it’s not a simple answer bc there are so many variables as to what will work for them. No one does videos like this. Thank you!
Really loved the detail on the foundations. I’ve been searching for a good foundation for my 65 year old skin. This really narrows down my search and explains a lot. Thank you!
I am a long time fan, back since 2008, I left ( unsubscribed) from the beauty community when it got too toxic. I have loved seeing you again, and became a subscriber again. Thank you for always being an honest, relatable, kind, professional with INTEGRITY. I am so sorry about all the shit you went through and how you lost your baby MUG cosmetics. Thank you for always keeping your head up and not becoming toxic. I am so glad to see you teaching and being honest and classy as always. love you, cant wait for the new products next year!! keep kicking ass babe xxoxo 🥰😃🥰🥰
Marlena, your content is just 🔥🔥🔥! Thanks for another great + helpful video. I'd love to see one about concealers--so many new launches lately but I struggle to find one that doesn't make me look 10 years older!
I've used Estee Lauder double wear for years and years. Now I'm 56, and I started mixing it with a skin enhancer. I used to use Kevin Auocoin until they discontinued it. Now I mix in a few drops of Chanel liquid highlight in pearl or rosey drops. Adds amazing sheen subtle highlights and makes my face glow. I have severe discoloration and after primer i use IT cosmetics bye-bye redness where I need to hide discoloration. Try it!
Laura Gellar really is one if not THE best makeup for mature skin. I’m 49 and it has amazing coverage, doesn’t settle in fine lines, doesn’t cake up.. and comes in liquid also if that is someone’s preference. It also comes in dewy. Can’t tell I’m wearing it. Long lasting as well. Her primers come in several options, glow, matte.. etc. I’m really surprised Marlena isn’t stressing how the best type of foundation for mature skin, 40+ is powder or cream foundations.
This was extremely helpful. I’ve been looking for a new foundation and I’m struggling. I’m 47 and while I’m blessed with pretty good skin, I still have some issues that are actually new to me cause I’ve noticed changes to my skin now that I’m approaching 50 and what use to work for me no longer does. So thank you for the breakdown! There were a couple on your list I’ve been curious about. I think I’m going to try Haus Labs! Thank you again!
God I freaking love this! I love all the science behind everything. I'm a science chick, and I love learning about how these things work and why and the best ways to make them work and use them and the reasons why, and it is impossible to find any kind of content that goes in-depth of the science behind it. So truly, thank you for this!
As a 62 yro woman with normal skin, I have found that not all foundations are the same. This was an excellent explanation of types, ingredients, etc. I really appreciate these types of videos. Thank you.
I love how you are a scientist in that you breakdown why a foundation is suited instead of being just an influencer jumping on the trend of what's in yet never explain why it's good. Although you didn't mention my favorite foundation for my 46 year old very oily skin (Nars Soft Matte), but before Soft Matte, my favorite was Sheer Glow lol!
Thank you Marlena for this thorough or detailed breakdown, it is very much appreciated. I have wasted so much money buying foundations that sales people have told me would work best for my skin tone and texture only to be left looking a mess from the separation of the foundation on my skin. I know now why. So, I will be getting some new foundation that I know will work for me because of you and this here video. I am grateful for you.❤
love the detailed breakdown of this video! I'm in my late twenties but noticed my skin has significantly changed, so I love lighter/nurturing products that are often marketed to "mature" skin.
Fantastic video just what I've been looking for forever! Please make lots more like this and definitely undereye concealer for older skin!! Infact anything to improve the eye areas 💝
I never knew that the type of primer and foundation combination was important. I've had issues with my foundation looking patchy sometimes or the look of separation and now I think I know why! So glad I came across this- thanks for going into the heavy details!!
Honestly if someone would just tell me what to wear and what shade, I would pay anything. So sick of wrong color choices, wrong combinations, and spending so much time trying things.
Thank you Marlena for being informative! When you reach 40, well for me anyway, you start to focus more on caring for your skin and also buying quality products. In our 20s and especially in our 30s we went through the whole UA-cam makeup frenzy and bought things due to influencers and not necessarily considered quality, more it was about price. I only use Natasha Denona eye shadows but in my 30s there was no way I was going to spend £60 on an eyeshadow pallete when the Morphe ones were so much cheaper and had more shades. Now I care about the quality of my skin care and makeup and can spend abit more on those core products. So please, keep giving us the information to make those more informed purchases, we appreciate you! ❤
........😳.....I think I learned more about foundations and applying them in the first 2 minutes of this video than I have in the last 39 years of my life.......THAAAAANK YOU!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
I really enjoy this format, it's deep enough to teach me something new, interesting enough for my geeky mind to get excited, but not so technical that I feel lost. Just right for me! I do wonder, though, do companies still make water or oil based products? Seems like every ingredients list starts out with some silicone in it...
My forever go to: Ester Lauder double wear/Smash box photo finish primer (mixed 50/50 ratio)+ 1 drop of whatever liquid highlighter *Seal with TonyMoly pocket bunny sleek mist =budge free glass skin all day 💯💰
Loved the way you broke it down!! I’m ready to go try on some foundations! I would really love it if you would do a video pairing these foundations with your recommendation for primers and if they need to be set with powder. And if so which powders. I have fine lines and wrinkles, and would love to see exactly how you can make them less visible ❤
Great video! I am 55 years young and my skin has become dry over the last couple of years. I use both the Sheer glow by Nars and Haus Labs...love them both!
YES please feel free to geek out even more, i love the detail 🤓 also, we while back you promised a deep dive into powders…all the different types, ingredients, talc-free, no flashback, which ones will play well w foundations silicone vs water vs oil based. if i want to be mostly dewy, but matte under my eyes and t-zone, wo baking or even which powders are best for baking please and thank you 💛😊💛
I love this information. I’m 49 now and I have big pores and I always had the problem of foundations looking streaky when I apply. I just tried my Revlon illuminating foundation with a stipple brush and it looks way better than with my fingers. Please do a more in depth video about this please to include different skin textures, such as big pores. Thank you ! 👍🏻
Thank you Marleana your the only one who has actually explained about the foundations. Thank you so much. I’ve done what you have said and my makeup now looks amazing before it used to look caked on not any more thanks to you. I had a lovely compliment from my husband saying I was glowing. 😘
I'm so glad I found you! Thank you for the detailed breakdown, I loved it. I just asked my 11 yo how to apply foundation...that's right non-makeup mom here. I've always loved the idea of full makeup, but I get intimidated by how to apply and what products to use for my skin. I appreciate the tutorials as well. I appreciate you🥰
I’m new to you channel but I truly appreciate the breakdown on the foundations. I’m 67 and looking for a new foundation that I feel comfortable wearing . Thank you.
Your the truth! I hace watched a lot of these “celebrity” makeup artist half don’t want to share information or blabber about this or that. Thank you for such a well put together video . Wow
The IT Cosmetics CC Cream and Bye Bye CC Cream with the all mineral based 50 spf helped heal my persistent melasma. There is nothing else like this formula that contains the ALL mineral based sunscreen- and a lot of people are sensitized to chemical sunscreens. I’ve taken this on vacations to the Caribbean and have never burned wearing this on my face, neck and chest. It is a necessity for me and has been a true blessing while dealing with melasma and needing to wear a mineral based sunscreen that plays well with foundation. This one eliminated the need for a separate sunscreen due to its high spf. I know that I am most likely not getting the full 50 spf- but the protection it offers has helped fade my melasma, so I know it works- as my melasma will come raging back with only a few hours without sunscreen!
THANK YOU !!! I am always struggling on the best foundation for my skin! I love all of the details because it helps me to really understand what my skin needs to look natural. Keep up all the fine details!!! GEEK out
I am not in to make up and a person not having much knowledge about products but man you are soooooo goood to explain and make things clearer. 🙏🏽🙏🏽👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Marlena, i’ve been watching you since 2010 and i even bought some of your eyeshadows the first time you released them. Im soooo glad i found you again, its nice to see the og make up gurus still making videos ❤
Only Marlena makes the best make up content, you’ve made me fall in love with my hobby of make up and learning about it again. ❤
That makes me so happy to hear!! I want makeup to be fun!! ❤
@@MarlenaStell You are definitely the best makeup artist on UA-cam!!!!
I was just going to say the same thing. Im so happy she’s back on here. ❤❤❤
Hi Marlena! I am so grateful I found you via a ‘suggestion list’!! Your treasure trove of knowledge, & experience, fascinate me. I love your style of Tutoring! Appreciate all the hard work you put in!
I am learning so much from you. Thank you beautiful Lady!🙏🏻
Loved the in debt detail of this video in looking for a foundation for my skin type. 👍🏼👍🏼
I love that you are back to making videos. Presence of women in their 40s is so much needed. I used to follow you in my 30s and now I Follow you in my 40s. Knowledge of people like you is needed in the beauty community. Sending you love, Marlena ❤❤❤
Thank you so much ♥️♥️♥️
The detailed breakdown of all the foundations was interesting and very informative. I am a drugstore gal, I’m not all about spending 40, 50, or 60 dollars on a foundation. Could you please do this same type of format for drugstore foundations? ❤
Yes please!
I third that request!
Yes please. I think she likes Milani. Affordability is important for a lot of people.
I learn so much with Marlena.
Agreed 👍
I loved this detail video a drugstore one please
No matter what foundation ive tried! I always come back to Estee lauder!!!!! Love love love it!!
YES!!!! PLEASE continue with this format. I appreciate the more in depth details. Thank you!

Marlena this was an epic master class of foundations! It wasn’t the sane old nonsense “you need this in your life” but you actually had criteria and that matters.
Learned so much I think I’ll have to watch again. Thank you so much for the huge effort you put into this video.

I love this format. I love if you shared top 10 concealers for over 40 in this exact format!
Thank you for sharing all your knowledge. I’m definitely geeking out on your channel 😆🥰
Haus Labs concealer is excellent for mature skin
I concur! Pleeeeease do a top 10 concealer for over 40! I'm hoping Haus Labs triclone concealer is on your list. ❤❤❤❤❤

Marlena. Just a tip from an older gal…. I don’t see how a sponge or brush has less bacteria than your washed hands. Our skin texture is different than yours. The warmth of our hands helps blend in the foundation best to aging skin more evenly. I personally have yet to experience any breakouts from using clean hands.

I agree, applying with your hands is better to me, it looks more natural too
Agreed
Nars recommends warming in palm and apply with fingers.

What's a good primer for under that foundation
This is a perfect video. I’m 65 and have tried so many foundations. None give me the medium coverage I am looking for. I have extra dry skin. So this detailed information is great. Now I would also need detailed information for primers 😊. Thanks so much
Your makeup is stunning. I love the detail and appreciate that you are mentioning people over 40. I am still oily over 40 and love makeup so I find this type of video to be useful and inspirational.
I’m so glad these videos help!! Xo
Saaaame! I’m going into my 40’s and still combo to oily and I need the info lol!
Marlena! You are the greatest and most thorough influencer! Thank you, especially for mature skin!! ❤️❤️❤️
I think you are the only youtuber that goes into ingredients list and I love it. You can go even in more detail.
My 57 year old combo/oily skin loves Armani. I use a brush but I think I might give a sponge a chance and see how it applies. Thank you Marlena for these reviews and tips. Love your videos still after all these years ❤
I'm so glad the videos are helpful!
Loved this video. I am 44. Can you do one on concealers? I’ve always enjoyed your content. Never disappoint ❤
Thank you for the most comprehensive and helpful foundation review to date 💗
I first want to say that I’ve been watching UA-cam beauty videos for at least 8 years and I’ve been through the whole “this influencer made me buy this” And after a few years I figured out that most of the influencers are just trying to sell their audience stuff.
So the only beauty channel I really listen to is YOU. If you are talking about something that I’m interested in or have been needing and you say a product is good, I will buy it because I know you are honest (unlike many MANY other channels.)
I have always hated the feeling of liquid or cream Foundation on my face.
I learned more from you about foundation in this video than I've ever learned from anyone in 55 years because you have a
way of breaking things down into language, I understand.
With each video you're building my confidence.
Thank you so much for sharing your gift and being such an inspiration for other women like me❤
Thank you Marlena. I am a makeup artist and love the detail you go into. I am learning so much!❤❤
It would be great if there was a website where you put the name of a foundation and it automatically tells you what is it based and which is better to apply it (sponge, brush or finger)
This is so helpful and a pleasure to watch. I do wish there were more affordable options but I understand why there wasn’t. I would love to see a drugstore version of this video
I'll be doing some drugstore recommendations soon :)
@@MarlenaStell thank you!!! 💗
@@MarlenaStell YAY!!!
I'm going to be 48 in 5 days.
This was unbelievably helpful. I am 53 with dry to normal skin and navigating the primer/foundation world has been bumpy.
Yes I love this format!!! The detailed explanations and comparisons remind me of Stephanie Nicole-another OG 😊 Thank you ❤
I'm going to add Face Atelier as a fantastic foundation for over 40.
All I can say is, wow. Most UA-camrs don't talk about this viscosity so Bravo❤
I really missed a really high quality review of foundations 🥰🥰 been a fan of yours from the start, keep on the really good work 👏🏻👏🏻🥰🥰
Marlena, I love this type of content and all the information you share with your viewers!
I am so glad to see you teaching and being honest and classy as always. love you, cant wait for the new products next year!! keep kicking ass babe xxoxo
🥰😃🥰🥰
Marlena, your content is just 🔥🔥🔥! Thanks for another great + helpful video. I'd love to see one about concealers--so many new launches lately but I struggle to find one that doesn't make me look 10 years older!
I love this level of detail!! At 43 I have been at a lost to find products for my changing skin. Keep the content coming!!!
My skin is oilier and oiler as I get older (almost 47) Thanks Marlena, this video is simply phenomenal ❤
Try it!
Love this!! Now I want to try this 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Laura Gellar really is one if not THE best makeup for mature skin.
You are bringing back the excitement of makeup online! Finally we all have someone to watch!!!!!
I’m always so surprised why her videos have so low views. This is the content from the influencer we need!
As a 62 yro woman with normal skin, I have found that not all foundations are the same. This was an excellent explanation of types, ingredients, etc. I really appreciate these types of videos. Thank you.
I’m loving the haus labs foundation! I’m Over 55 with combo skin. Thanks for your input on these foundations! It’s so helpful 😃❤
I love the newish Laura Mercier foundation. I’m in my 40s and I think it looks absolutely fabulous. My mom also loves it on her skin.
Please continue this type of video with other products like concealers! ❤❤❤
Yes completely will!
@@MarlenaStell I hope is going to be in the near future. Thank you!
@@MarlenaStellplease do a video like this for drugstore foundations. Thank you! ❤❤❤
I am grateful for you.❤
Loved this one. I’m almost 41 and trying to accept the fact that not every form of makeup works for my skin anymore has been rough lol
What about your skin doesn't work w certain foundations anymore? Can u explain further? (I'm not 40 yet)
love the detailed breakdown of this video!
Totally agree!!
Could you do a video like this for drugstore?
Drugstore I don't worry about, simply because of the price point - it's high end I need to always know about 👍
........😳.....I think I learned more about foundations and applying them in the first 2 minutes of this video than I have in the last 39 years of my life.......THAAAAANK YOU!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
I really enjoy this format, it's deep enough to teach me something new, interesting enough for my geeky mind to get excited, but not so technical that I feel lost. Just right for me!
I do wonder, though, do companies still make water or oil based products? Seems like every ingredients list starts out with some silicone in it...
My forever go to: Ester Lauder double wear/Smash box photo finish primer (mixed 50/50 ratio)+ 1 drop of whatever liquid highlighter
*Seal with TonyMoly pocket bunny sleek mist
=budge free glass skin all day 💯💰
Absolute BEST makeup explanations I’ve ever seen/heard. Thank you so much!!!
This was probably the best video I have ever watched with regard to learning about foundations. Thank you!
Great video! I am 55 years young and my skin has become dry over the last couple of years. I use both the Sheer glow by Nars and Haus Labs...love them both!
YES please feel free to geek out even more, i love the detail 🤓
also, we while back you promised a deep dive into powders…all the different types, ingredients, talc-free, no flashback, which ones will play well w foundations silicone vs water vs oil based. if i want to be mostly dewy, but matte under my eyes and t-zone, wo baking or even which powders are best for baking
please and thank you 💛😊💛
I love this information.
GEEK out
The best, beautiful, gorgeous, and honest makeup artist on this planet👍
I am not in to make up and a person not having much knowledge about products but man you are soooooo goood to explain and make things clearer. 🙏🏽🙏🏽👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Marlena, i’ve been watching you since 2010 and i even bought some of your eyeshadows the first time you released them. Im soooo glad i found you again, its nice to see the og make up gurus still making videos ❤
