60's kids dancing to "And Suddenly" by The Cherry People. Hosted by Del Curtis, this episode of Teen Time aired sometime around 1968 on WSTV-TV (now WTOV) in Steubenville, Ohio.
Oh my God, it's true. Somehow Del Curtis gave birth to Vince Offer. "Hi, it's Del with Teen Time. You're gonna be in a great mood all day 'cause you'll be dancing your troubles away with this hit by the Cherry People."
Reminds me of a similar show that aired on the ABC affiliate in Binghamton, NY back in the 1960s. Many cities had shows similar to this one, and it is sad they do not exist. We need to bring them back, because they are so fun! God knows this one is! Funny, Steubenville was referred to in the movie "That Thing You Do!" Great stuff! I hope you have more!
"Ivy Ivy" followed "Pretty Ballerina" in March 1967, bubbled under the Hot 100 at just #119. "And Suddenly" was the b-side. The Cherry People version came along the following year. "Teen Time," first went on the air as "Nine Teen Time" in the early 60's. Stan Scott was the host at the beginning but left in the mid-60's to become an evangelist. Then entered Del Curtis.
As a member of the AOL music oldies trivia room,I (we) keep track of stuff like that. I didn't know this was a B side for Left Banke. Thanks for sharing.
Michael tension between Brown and the rest of the group began to surface, as Brown recorded a single, "And Suddenly"/"Ivy Ivy," under the Left Banke name, using session musicians (including future member of Spinal Tap Michael McKean) and Bert Sommer on lead vocals.
The brunette in the black blouse and small polka-dotted white skirt can sure move! And I wasn't born yet when this local TV show from Ohio was on the air! 😀
What these clips show is that you should make the most of what you have now. These shows seemed pretty unremarkable then, they were little more than fillers and the music seemed okay, but that was all, but now, they're classics and something to be almost revered.
The remaining Left Banke members used their fan club to boycott the record[citation needed], which led to confusion among radio stations over which "Left Banke" to support. Radio and Smash Records ultimately pulled their support from the single, which subsequently failed to even crack the Hot 100. ("And Suddenly" was eventually recorded by a group called the Cherry People and was a minor hit.

That brought back memories. I was just wondering if you're in there? My brother, cousin and several classmates are dancing. How in the heck do you get these videos?
They were Coulottes - they were going through a sort of mini resurgance back in 1968. People were introducing them as an alternative to the mini skirt. Tara King wore them a lot in "The Avengers".
The girl in the black and white pleated dress, at the forground, at 1:37, having to give instructions to her dance partner to more or less get with it!!! The guy wearing glasses!
@666kr yeah and they swiped my drummer barry brandt. just kidding. our band was broken up. barry was a great drummer though. i haven't seen him in years
@OldMrMemories I COMPLETELY AGRRED WITH YOU...Laziness,microwaving,eating in front of the Tv and not as a family. Thats what happened....THIS IS THE WHAT SOMEONE CALL CIVILIZATION
Trivia: This tune ("And Suddenly") was originally a B-side by the Left Banke (for those of you who keep track of stuff like that).
I absolutely love these Teen Time clips! They make Steubenville seem like such a happening place in the late 60s.
Its just great to see these teenagers enjoying themselves.

Well, these kids climbed high up Altamont Hill and danced their hearts out to these teen pop hits.
If I had been born in 1950, the phone had asked to the blonde girl (2:00). Lovely girl, lovely song.

music software, 60s samples, new sunshine pop glo
DC had The Milt Grant Show.
Steubenville is Dean Martin's home town.

These particular kids just do The Horse on every song lololol

...hmmm, maybe they danced more often than sitting in front of screens like we do now ?
Sweet video. Long gone are those days, where the dancing was at least respectable.
Yeah, I would definitely agree with that.
