Grandma , and Grandpa it is you! Lol
Given the time and the place this was Teenage All-America cleancut, decent, nicely dressed and nothing vulgar about their dancing. Thank you for the memories.
Yeah, but we had naughty thoughts. lol
Here in Southern California, we had the after school teen dance show called Boss City. It was hosted by the Real Don Steel with his blond beauty sidekick Kam Nelson on KHJ tv channel 9 in L.A. He was also the hippest DJ on KHJ radio serving up the grooviest hits goin' man! Long live the old shows and thanks for posting this classic from goovy Ohio! It's outta sight man!
"It's fractious Friday!" "Tina Delgado is alive ,alive!"
Wow! This took me all the way back to when I was a kid. Used to watch this every week. Haven't thought about this show for a loooooong time. Thanks for the memory
I remember all of the great local Bandstand style Rock Shows in the 60's! Chicago had "Kiddie A-Go-Go", and "Swingin' Majority". Ohio had "Upbeat", Boston had the "T.A.M.I. Show", California had "Shivaree", and "Shebang"! This "Teen Time" Show is great!
Boy, I was born in 1966 and I found out about these Shows when I saw Documentaries or Clips on Time-Life Infomercials. Dick Clark owns The Rights To The T.A.M.I. Show. Shebang was a Dick Clark Show that he a small interest in that Casey Kasem hosted and he also had strong ties to Motown since he was also from Detroit, he even attended the Same College Wayne State University that Diana Ross's Father Fred attended. In The UK they had Ready Steady Go, The Beat Club, The Old Grey Whistle Test but the longest running is Top Of The Pops. It's not a Copycat of American Bandstand but it was the show that every UK Popstar wants to do. It was the Show that Banarama performed on as did Wham in 1982, John Lennon did Instant Karma with the Plastic Ono Band as well as The Jackson Five, Jets, and Nu Schooz. Denmark had Toppop as well.

Oh my gosh I love this song! I was only 10 at the time but I used to dance my behind to this song! Thanks for posting!
If only the kids took this kind of approach to dancing these days...
THIS MY FAVORITE GARAGE RECORD. LOVE IT WISH I COULD GO BACK.
Hard to believe but this some of you may have seen already that this was a massive track on the UK Northern Soul scene. Yes, Soul scene! It was though of as "blue eyed soul" The dance floor used to pack and the dancing was a lot more energetic and acrobatic than that in the clip. I never thought tht one day I would see actual footage of the band singing it! You Tube is fantastic!!!!!!
This was great! Totally took me back! Today's kids don't know what they're missing! In San Antonio, we had "Swingtime"! I'd love to see some of those clips!
These types of shows were common in the 60s We had one called "Dance Date", out of Burlington, VT.
Airdate was November 1967.
omg the clothes, skinny ties, pointed shoes the music ,grt memorys
That’s me with the suit and tie!
60's girls are the best !!!
Way before my time ,but ... I love it 😀 ✌🏼
Wait... kids existed in the 60's!? HOLY SHIT!
Look how nicely dressed & clean cut these teen-agers are. Enough said. And most of these guys would be drafted into the Vietnam War., and their lived changed forever. Some of the guys might have even died in the war. A Moment in Time
I love this!!!! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
yeah this is like back to the future XD
Dig the dude with the saddle shoes !!
Introductory theme song is "Sock It To 'em J.B," by Rex Garvin & the Mighty Cravers.
Thank you. I only know it from The Specials cover in the 80s.
Make a recording of the person at WTOV laughing hysterically.
Nevermind Marty Mcfly, I swear I could see George Mcfly!
@chichimunky They had more fun then you'll ever have in your lifetime!
The girl with the black glasses(0:22) certainly knows how to dance, along with the other girl in the dark dress and white collar(0:37). 😀
Scott Bromberg Yes, she danced well in this video as everyone can see. 😀
Sally Johnson is good , wins the dance contest but the two blondes(one with glasses) are the best.
Cool!
The original "Corney Collins Show"
You and everyone else, my man...
@marksmail2 Teen Town, in Detroit, with Robin Seymour as the host!
strip it back ....great fun exercise video..awasumme..
:37 Sally Johnson 1:40
60's hotness, for sure.
Yup , a cutie and a good dancer.
Obvious question... WHO is Sally Johnson ??
@@TurboMountTV she's the cutie at 37 seconds in with the white sailor collar dress. In another video (from the same episode ) she and her partner win the dance contest. You see her again at 1:40 , nice looking girl and a good dancer IMHO.
Several people have made a comment about "Sally Johnson".
I thought she was famous or something.
Great find, Can you add Tommy James song Out Of The Blue so we can see kids dance to Tommy James. Thanks.
Sally Johnson
yea teen time
Cowgirl!(3:08) 😁
The blondes at 2.40
did I see George McFly wander past the camera at 1:34?
artdeco18 😄😄😄😄😄 😁😁😁😁😁
How do kids dance today? Are there still dance clubs? Or do they dance in there room while playing mortal kombat.
Lol. all the guys are dancing like Stephen Fry :)
Clearly not heard of the ganja quite yet...
why not
I have seen more rhythm at a Polish wedding! LOL
Omg On the whole, white people can Not dance well! Eddie Murphy imitates them, lol. I knew this as a teen n watched Soul Train to learn how to dance.
... wonder what they're doing now? the first girl (with sunglasses) probably works as a secretary for a plumbing contractor. the girl with the big tie looks like she's probably now into leather.
Rough looking crowd
This is most indubitably the version recorded by Sandy Nelson although the Rex Garvin and the Mighty Cravers version also wails!!
Like to see Tommy James song Out Of The Blue.
I like George Thorogood's version better.
talk about a "stiff" or an emcee ...
This is straight from the days when picture was only black and white...and white...and white.
I bet the black guy won the dance off, haha.
Right at 1:37 that guy moves weird lol Its like a young Herman Munster but the girl at 1:37 with the white tie dress is prob the best dancer there and I still see girls dance like that. And whats up with this girls wailing arms at 0:21, 1:29 and 1:55 ?
I thought it was just her with no rhythm but probably a 60's dance move since the girl at 2:09 and the other girl at 2:36 also does the same moves :/
Yes the girl and her partner at 1:37 are great dancers. The flailing arm moves that you are referring to are strange to me. Must be a regional or Steubenville thing.
The girl is Sally Johnson, she later wins the dance contest. She and the two blondes 2:40 are by far the best dancers there. I don't want to be too critical cause they're all just having a good time but none of those guys can dance worth a luck.
He is the enemy!
Some of those teams should look really old
What's sad about this, is how many of these young guys went on to die in a rice paddy in Viet Nam!
