Beautiful work, great talent. Tried my hand at chainsaw carving. Didn't feel like it was what I wanted to really get into. I did airbrush work for years and enjoyed that a lot. Mostly the people I met when I worked at a flea market in a tourist town. I met people from pretty much all over the world. I enjoyed the people I met locally when working around where I live. Tay, nice job! The body shape is pretty right on, the head is great and realistic. I thought a little more red in the tail would be the final kiss but I’m only going by memory. This is a heck of a nice bird and it shows you like nature and wildlife which is why your carves have that detail look.

Wow! Your hawk is amazing! I am so inspired by your attention to detail. It's those subtle things that distinguish the different types of birds. It's so great! Your colors turned out beautiful as well. It looked like you treated the whole piece before painting. Do you mind if I ask your process on that? Do you just use acrylic paints with your air brush? Great comment, thank you 💛 I treat with 2-3 coats of TWP 1500 series, let dry for about a week. Then use spray paints and thinned down rustoleum oil based enamels in my airbrush. I don’t do anything with acrylics yet as the rustoleum has been working great for me :) For anatomy I draw. I’m not an expert at drawing but it’s not the drawing itself that matters, it’s the studying of real images and translating them into sketches that helps me.
