Tay, I am so in awe of your talents and this beautiful owl is gorgeous. I started carving with a knife a few years ago following an accident which affected my mobillity. Of course I soon progressed to using power tools I had lying around from a lifetime as a tradesman. UA-cam made me want to go bigger and better and I now have a Stihl 140. My access to logs is still limited, though getting better due to working with charities and local authorities, but the rose you carved looks like something I can have a go at. There are a lot of people here in the UK interested in taking up carving but have never thought they could. Frankly I was one. Now I'm doing it I wonder why I haven't been doing it all my life. Thank you for the inspiration you've given me and all the inspiration you will no doubt give to those who naively think I can teach them. 😂🤣😂
I got so lucky I found carving when I did, the stares really just aligned and I took the leap of faith and I’m so happy I did! I’m glad it brings you joy like it does for me! Stay inspired and keep pushing yourself 💪🏼
I do try to add as much as possible without being boring! It’s a cool process so I try to share as much as I can! Might also help others get into carving by seeing the whole process:)
Inspired by your channel, I now have my first ever chainsaw carved ‘Welcome Bear’ residing in my garden. I loved doing it, am really pleased with the outcome and now am planing a Barn Owl next! Thanks for your content and in your honour our Bear is called Tay!
My mother loved owls when she was alive. When I lived on the Big Island I once saw a huge white owl that landed on the road in front of me and just stared at me before flying off towards the volcano. No-one will ever be able to convince me it wasn't my mother's spirit coming to see me. Thank you for this it made my heart swell.
I have been. Carving for a long time and love it. Just found your channel ! This Owl is incredibly beautiful!! Great job. I love watching chain saw work. I wish I tried it years ago but at 70 I will stick with what just a band aid can fix 🤣😃 My wife will be happier! Awesome job! 👍👍👍👍
Wow ! this is the first time of seeing this channel but i have to say Miss that you are a true master at your skill, i had to watch the whole video and you kept me captivated the whole time, Thanks for sharing this your work turned out beautiful
Just legs and a head 🤣🤣🤣. True enough lol! Spectacular job Taylor! The Bin is the best sealer I've used. Years ago it was shellac based, not sure about now. I was a painter in the 70s and part of the 80s and probably tried about everything to block tanins, water stains from bleeding, Kilz was good but the Zinsser never failed. You got a hug from your customer, she must have loved it!
I believe it still might be a shellac primer, I know it's oil based! I have had good luck with their stain block cover primer as well! Great stuff, $$$, but worth it in my eyes!
Tay that owl is so well done! The body feathers are just about as real looking as you can do. Mounted on the house is awesome and the tint of dark color like owls are on their feathers is perfect. Young Lady you can carve anything and compete with the best in my view!
Your Snowy Owl is an amazing sculpture! I’m so impressed with your design and execution of how to attach the massive wings to the body, and then mounting it to the wall at the customer’s shop, definitely outside the box. The detail on the face and wings is over the top, especially the eyes. Your knowledge of the owl’s anatomy really shows in your work. I love how you use the airbrush (yet another intimidating piece of equipment) - it elevates your work up to another level. The roses were a complete surprise, what beautiful sculptures on their own. I enjoyed seeing the customer’s reaction too. One of my favorite videos!
An amazing amount of detail using a chain saw and grinder! Very well done! I don't know why YT gave me this suggestion, but I'm SO glad they did. Keep practicing your art. You are truly a master.
You went from what you described as, "Over burning" to not burning,. I like it! Usually for a stain block and primer I use KILTZ, hope I spelled it right. I started whittling with a knife when I was seven. I graduated to Dremel and power carvers, but never a chainsaw. You are inspiring me to give it a try.
Beautifully carved! Beautifully edited! A epic owl no doubt about it! A logistic nightmare on where to store it with other projects going on for months! You did it Tay! Woohoo! AMAZING as always! 🫶🏻
Hi Tay Marie. I’m a carver and love it but I don’t think I could ever do what you do. Watching your videos I try to imagine what you are looking at and thinking for your next move. You are extremely good young lady. You should be very proud of yourself. Thanks for sharing.
Very impressive display of talent and creativity. I love woodworking, but my weekness is carving because I have trouble imagining how to create something in 3 dimensions. This video was very inspiring to watch. Keep up the great work.
Once again a beautiful job. You’re bringing such happiness to your clients. You’re touching lives in a meaningful way, I hope all who view your videos see it also.
Been watching you carve this owl..brilliant.I'm a cartoonist and I appreciate all forms of artwork, from animation to tattoos to sandcastles to photography...it's a big list. The way you just sliced so confidently into the wood..you must have been feeling the same way I get when I'm working on a project for someone.I'll be sticking to a pen(much less chance of losing a limb)for my work...best luck to you.Last thought..if I had Owl-legs,I would NEVER go to the beach again.
Wow so talented. Went and checked out your "about me" story too, good for you for following your passion. Amazing stuff, the owl looked so real up there on the wall.
I just watched your bear video and was amazed and now after this owl I cant get anymore impressed and fascinated!! I dont know how you got into carving but your awesome and fun to watch!! By the way, that primer is the best..alot better than kilz. I've used it to cover up fire and smoke damage.
Your skills are so inspiring! I love love love that you just dive into the projects you've never done before,...and you absolutely rock the results!!! This is an absolutely beautiful carve! 😍🤩😊😊😊
@@TayMarie23 Right?! That's the way I learn too. I just have fun, and if it doesn't work, then I learn something. If it does work, I learn something. So it all works out. Thanks for your videos!

Very much appreciated! And unfortunately every craving will crack as the wood dries regardless of where you keep it, just like every log in a log cabin will crack. Its best to embrace the cracks as part of this natural materials beauty 🫶🏼
