I moved from Cincinnati, Ohio, been here a year I love it! I love the weather, the vibe, the diversity and the beaches/lake options. Housing is expensive but if you work hard, you can make it work.
You bought a house in the 200,000 range so your mortgage now becomes rent for a lot of people so you definitely bought it at the right time. That was a very good decision because as you work you can pay into the principal and own the house faster .

Nice!!! Which area of Tampa?
We been here a little over a year and love it. You can really do anything you want to do. There’s no reason to go anywhere else outside of maybe in the fall or winter to experience the seasons. Ton of restaurants and shopping. You can have Irish food one day, English food the next, island food. Biggest downside is traffic and it does get hot June through August and in these months especially you look forward to those evening showers lol. The lightning can be pretty gnarly at times but at the same time it is beautiful as long as you are in a safe place to observe. Take care my friend. You should check out Jimmy Hula’s in Brandon. It is pretty good and one of our favorite spots to go.
I have the same dilemma you had. From up Notth. Charlotte or Tampa? Hate the cold, but viscerally hate snakes and alligators.. Will be visiting both soon and will hit u up when in Tampa.
And We followed You too !!! from South Florida, to Citrus Park and Purchased a Home a few Months after YOU! We feel the Same, only difference is I wouldn’t want to Move bc we love being by the City and Port ( We love Cruising)! We actually went to Jerk Hut last weekend! Happy to See you in this 3Year update🌸🌸

Hey from the Winston family yep we are still here in Tampa right along with ya. My point is if I would of known I would of never chose Brandon yes it has everything yes it has the mall 5 min away and yes the weather goes from hot to not so hot but the homeless and the beggers are everywhere in every corner so ya I love Tampa but just not this area. Nice to see ur still loving it and eventually we will be looking into buying but like you said now is not the time. And for those that want to move hear listen closely to what he said DO UR RESEARCH. Tampa is very sketchy one block may look amazing but not when u turn that corner lmao

Excellent advice bro! If you want to do it, stop trying to find the perfect time and just DO IT. Haven't quite been here a year yet but I'm glad I made the move. Gotta hit that outlet mall up tho!!!!

if you had not purchased a home when you were in NY and you're now saying that you wouldn't have been able to afford to buy a house if you bought it today ...then are you saying that Tampa is just as expensive as NYC?
No not at all. But it's a lot more expensive now, I think for what I would want it would be $350k+ now.
