First time ever hearing this. Holy mother of God! This is fantastic! I wish they would do more like this. Well, at this point I guess it's more accurate to say I wish they had done more like this.
As a guitar player myself, and one who has been an AC/DC fan since my first bootleg copy of the "Let There Be Rock" album in 1977, I believe I can say with authority that all of Angus' work is based on the blues. I know that he has great respect for the blues, and mentions John Lee Hooker, among others, as one of his influences (which also include Chuck Berry). But deep down inside, Angus is a blues player. He may play them in his own style, but Angus is a dyed in the wool blues guitarist, and someday will be recognized as such.
If the boys ever recorded some real blues stuff (like in their early days), that would be some great old age pensioner kinda record. An AC/DC tribute record to all their Blues and R'n'R heroes like Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson etc. Now THAT would be something surprising, something crowning their epic career and something I would very much look forward to. Mal, Angus, Brian? Can you hear me?? You should really do this before you retire! ;-)) And to all of you listeners out there: Listen to the bluesy feel and soul that just oozes out of Angus' every solo on their Vanda & Young produced albums (= everything up to 1978) and be conscious of the fact that you are not listening to some grumpy black man in his 50ies or older but to a little white guy in his early 20ies!!!! It's simply unbelievable.
Actually, this was well after the album was recorded. This is the rehearsal where the promotional videos for the album where filmed. The band is just jamming, also worth noting it's Simon Wright behind the skins here,if it where during the Flick recording sessions Phil Rudd would be playing.
rory would be proud watching angus shred that SG in his honor! you were the man rory! so humble and so proud! look down from heaven mate and you'll see how many you influenced!
Technically no, considering this was taken from an un-used film source which was filmed for the Flick Of The Switch music videos. Most likely from a VHS tape, and this was converted down to .avi when I got it. The audio however is very much HD, taken from a different Lossless source. I wouldn't complain, it's the best we've got from this session.
Hell yes they do! Love that album, along with Made In America, and the Soundtrack to the movie. The Blues Brothers kick ass, they deserve so much more appreciation...
Absolutely.....I suggest everone go down to their local music store and buy as many blues albums at you can because it may not be around in the future...paraphrasing Ellwood Blues
who cares? he has a different voice. im sick of people saying brians "not as good as bon" but hats bullshit. hes just as good and was the ONLY fitting replacement.
Shit, I thought they had nailed Angus's feet to the floor, genrally he is a blur. Nice to watch him place and be able to see what his fingers are doing. Great Video!
A true ac/dc fan keeps bon's memory in thier heart rather than bitchin about how brian cant sing as good as him...jus thought i'd let you people know that
@baliman555 Also, Brian Johnson could mop the floor with Rory, imo. heard any of his work in Geordie? He's not just a screamer, Look up House Of The Rising Sun by Geordie them tell me "this clown" can't sing. and I'm not coming from a biased "AC/DC fan perspective" either, there's no denying he's a great vocalist, just listen to his upper register in the Geordie tune, it's fucking fantastic.....
Keith Guitarman - Not quite !! He was 8 years old (approx) when the family Emigrated to Australia. So he is Australian of Scottish descent. I am Irish of Scottish descent . We move around you know !! - The Celts that is .!! However there are some tough places in Australia I am sure. Try Summer Bay for a start !! I wouldn't move there . Everyone who has moved there has had their lives put through the wringer !!
this has to be while they were recording Flick Of The Switch. I love that album. This was just them messing around as warm up i guess. I do the same thing with my band, but this is awesome!
You can here the bass in every song, but ithe bass guitar is louder in the Ballbreaker and Stiff Upper Lip albums. But You can here the Bass in every one of them
YES!! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT AC/DC REPRESENTS....... ThE OLD CLASSIC RYTHUM N BLUES.... IT'S WHAT ROCK N ROLL IS ALL ABOUT... ( also the drinking And smokin) THIS IS JUST GREAT....
I agree, lol Stiff Upper Lip is the "bluesy" album. While every AC/DC album contains traces of their blues roots, the only ones on Black Ice that come across that way to me are Rockin' All The Way,Decibel, and Money Made.
I wish AC/DC would release an all blues album where they'd play music like this.
El album de "Stiff Upper Lip" es lo más cercano que tenemos
@@SimonDice69Dirty Deeds, High Voltage, let There Be Rock, and Powerage
All of their Bon S stuff is high power blues!
The Jack
Ride on
Boogie man
brians voice is so powerful it knocks him back!
Well to be fair, Brian has a very bluesy sound when singing at lower registers, because that's his natural range.
Brian sang this type of thing when he was younger and well ac/dc are really a heavy blues band anyway
About as calm as you’ll ever see these guys while performing
Damn!
C'mon, Angus! Do a blues album already.
Dat's where you comin' from, son.
+Roger Steinbrink It's past the point. Malcolm is useless from now on. Sad. They should just release this stuff, if they haven't already.
Yeah!!! With Angus on vocals and guitar and by the way,Simon Wright was a great drummer for AC/DC!!!
no he wasn't, rudd and slade fits perfectly for acdc
Stiff upper lip is technically a blues album
Roger Steinbrink yess!!
First time ever hearing this. Holy mother of God! This is fantastic! I wish they would do more like this. Well, at this point I guess it's more accurate to say I wish they had done more like this.
I got into an argument with a blues purist once when I said AC/DC was a bluesy rock band. Any fan of the band I think would agree with me.
Angus is such a great blues player, very underrated guitarist.
Justin Williams Dude Angus isn't underrated at all he's one of the legends.
If anything Mal is underrated as a guitarist because he's so overshadowed by Angus
Also, Malcolm was who introduced angus into guitar playing
Eddie Van Halen said Angus was great in the blues realm!
Angus is just the king !
Cliff playing friggin awesome
ACDC should play more blues
BROOKS39 I agree.
Stiff Upper Lip album is about as close to it as you can get.
lol they have 14 albums playing the blues buds... its just amped up a little..
but i know what youre saying... they are just that good..
Please don't!
Ball breaker and stiff upper lip are pretty bluesy
You may be cool, but you'll never be cooler than Brian Johnson lighting a cigarette off another while singing Messin' With The Kid
great to see Angus practicing before a gig. I had never seen him play without headbanging the whole song!
As a guitar player myself, and one who has been an AC/DC fan since my first bootleg copy of the "Let There Be Rock" album in 1977, I believe I can say with authority that all of Angus' work is based on the blues. Dogheadj He's a Blues Rock player, but yes he grew up lovin the Blues, don't they all
Dogheadj research "the easybeats"
He’s always been a blues player, even tho he’s in a hard rock band he started in the blues & works it into rock music
Just look at Stiff Upper Lip. Arguably the most blues-oriented album they made.
Matt Brabham agreed
Music rules the world and they are just simply awesome. Angus and Malcom love the blues. They have said many any times. I love this!
Brian should sing more blues. Love this.
Check out "she's my babe" and "boogie man"
this NEEDS to be on their live set.
Angus is the king of Rock N Roll and of the Guitar!!!
Gota luv cliffs bass in this. A lovely glorious blues swing...just simple and magical...
BJ scratching his arse at the end there - priceless!
My fuck they sure have some swing!
Malcolm Keepin the Rhythm!
Marvellous. Would love to watch AC/DC playing this (and others blues songs) live.
Whoa! AC/DC doin the blues! Amazing!!!!! Love it
The whole Ball Breaker album is basically the blues.
some smokes and booze and some good ol rock n blues
doent get any better than that
Thanks for sharing bootleg blues by AC/DC.They rocked at rehearsal, here !
Actually this song was first recorded by Junior Wells, a blues legend.
True Boogie!
Didn't the Blues Brothers record this a few years earlier than this was too?
They all look like they just woke up, especially Angus. This is very tame, I dig it. Very good cover/jam/sound test.
THE GREATEST BAND EVER. NO QUESTION.

MrCoopersonic one can only dream.. Even an Angus and guests blues record. Maybe hook up with keef
Actually, this was well after the album was recorded. This is the rehearsal where the promotional videos for the album where filmed. The band is just jamming, also worth noting it's Simon Wright behind the skins here,if it where during the Flick recording sessions Phil Rudd would be playing.
incredible, and if brian johnson wants to scratch his arse at the end of the sang, he can
p
Gotta love some bluesy 'DC !
Nah, ya dont gotta, but ya cant help it. lol!
great job brian back to the ac dc roots doesnt get any better than this!!!!!

rory would be proud watching angus shred that SG in his honor! you were the man rory! so humble and so proud! look down from heaven mate and you'll see how many you influenced!
I like how Brian takes the time of the solo to light a cig at 2:23.
Thiago Dantas Rossetto Love how it gives his voice more of a kick!!
Larry Yup
Kinda like in a blues club!
Didn't he miss his cue ? :-) Didn't seem to matter though!
And he lights it off another one. He was chain smoking throughout the song. lol
Hard rock band playing blues rock... Awesome!
Technically no, considering this was taken from an un-used film source which was filmed for the Flick Of The Switch music videos. Most likely from a VHS tape, and this was converted down to .avi when I got it.

The Blues Brothers kick ass, they deserve so much more appreciation...
That is a GREAT way of doing it...
Always wished ACDC would have come out with a pure blues album
What some of us have to go through too often. Hail to NitroAngus, a TRUE fan. Fil :-)
Omg perfect,perfect,perfect,perfect!!!!! *-----*
Absolutely.....I suggest everone go down to their local music store and buy as many blues albums at you can because it may not be around in the future...paraphrasing Ellwood Blues

Love it!!! Awesome cover of a classic
Shit, I thought they had nailed Angus's feet to the floor, genrally he is a blur. Nice to watch him place and be able to see what his fingers are doing. Great Video!
We were rehearsing this tonight, & I stumbled on this video. Thanks for posting!
why haven't I heard this before?! long time drinker and AC/DC fan here!
A true ac/dc fan keeps bon's memory in thier heart rather than bitchin about how brian cant sing as good as him...jus thought i'd let you people know that

@baliman555 Also, Brian Johnson could mop the floor with Rory, imo. heard any of his work in Geordie?
He's not just a screamer,

Who cares
Haha 01:18 a box of Stella that's the AC/DC we know and love :D

It could be during the Flick Of the Switch sessions as Phil Rudd was sacked half way during recording that album and Simon Wright replaced him
Hey everyone! Lets all just stop fighting and enjoy the guys messing around with Messing with the Kid, awesome stuff.
this has to be while they were recording Flick Of The Switch. I love that album. This was just them messing around as warm up i guess. I do the same thing with my band, but this is awesome!

AC/DC и блюз - полный пппипеец! Протащился по полной! Респект и уважуха!
Love this, loved Rory Gallager's version, love this one too!
You can here the bass in every song, but ithe bass guitar is louder in the Ballbreaker and Stiff Upper Lip albums. But You can here the Bass in every one of them

I like this sound
Awesome
that's awesome
I agree, lol Stiff Upper Lip is the "bluesy" album.
While every AC/DC album contains traces of their blues roots, the only ones on Black Ice that come across that way to me are Rockin' All The Way,Decibel, and Money Made.
