I got into AC/DC when I was about 12 and Thunderstruck was released. I bought The Razors Edge, probably the first ever cassette album I bought, and I played that thing over and over, then I found Back in Black, and I thought that was about the peak of AC/DC. A few years ago I had an AC/DC playlist playing in my car and it played a few Bon songs and since then, i find it difficult to listen to Brian era, and I prefer to stick in the early days. They’re all awesome, but Bon just seems like the best frontman in the world.

I assume it was just prior to, or in the very early days of Bon as a frontman. Because I’m also a GnR fan, it was awesome seeing Axl front them, and I found out that his favourite AC/DC songs is one of mine also, a touch too much. I love the way it sounds. One thing ive noticed with AC/DC is all of their songs are about things that are real, and in a way, they tell a story. Their writing is really clever and there is loads of double entendres in their songs. Awesome band.
Privileged to say I was at this concert. This was the encore as they came back out in Scotland strips (Scotland had qualified for 1978 World Cup in Argentina). By far the best band I've seen and fortunate to see them with Bon Scott on 3 occasions in Glasgow. I have also visited Bon Scott graveside and memorial at Freemantle Cemetery in Western Australia. So tough to believe Bon Scott passed away less than a year after this gig. Cherished memories.

Bought my Sonor drum kit because Phil played one, still got it now, although I don't play any longer. Big smiling face is me.......
This was filmed at Glasgow Apollo on 30th April 1978, when the live album "If you want blood you got it" was recorded. I saw them the next night in Middlesbrough, then again 4 days later in Newcastle. Great days.

I saw ac/dc, Thin Lizzy, Jethro Tull, Leonard Cohen, Supertramp, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury and many more in the Apollo around then. Here's a bit of trivia for you. The Angus chant at the start of Rosie was started that night, and i was one of the fuckers that got into it. Check it out on If you want blood. there is a bit of confusion to start with. Some folk chanting Angus too fast, but it settles into it. This was one if the best gigs i ever saw in the Apollo.

I've listened to a lot of rock n roll in my nearly 50 years, but I've never heard anything like that before! It was like AC/DC just reinvented rock n roll back in 1978.
I was in high school in France in december 1979 when I went to see them live, my first ever concert. Me and my friends were huge fans. They opened in total darkness with "Live Wire", when the drums, bass and lights came in, it was total excitement, I remember it to this day, what a concert...Sadly, 2 months later, Bon Scott was dead.
One time i had a dream that I was at an ac/dc concert and they were playing this song. And i could see it perfectly, i could see Angus and Bon right up at the front of the stage, it was at a huge stadium and Angus and Bon ran right past me and i got to touch Angus' guitar. It was the greatest dream that i will ever have.
I was 3 years old living in the UK when this was filmed. Angus was only 23 and one month old at the time of this concert. Keep in mind, he'd been playing guitar since age 5. He was an okd hand by 23 and self taught. One of the greats.
AC/DC was such a power house that could take a song from the album and make it better ten fold live. Nobody else in history has done this. What Legends, no bullshit, straight up, get fucked rock n' roll. Cheers 🍻

One time i had a dream that I was at an ac/dc concert and they were playing this song. And i could see it perfectly, i could see Angus and Bon right up at the front of the stage, it was at a huge stadium and Angus and Bon ran right past me and i got to touch Angus' guitar. It was the greatest dream that i will ever have.
I was 3 years old living in the UK when this was filmed. Angus was only 23 and one month old at the time of this concert.
Keep in mind, he'd been playing guitar since age 5. He was an okd hand by 23 and self taught. One of the greats.
