    If anyone wants to know, I have worked inside of recording studios like this, and guess what? The band can do whatever they like. They can smoke pot right in the open, snort coke, have beer cans sitting on amps, whatever they want. It's like being in their own garage at home...the studio doesn't give a blank what they do, and they do it all. Oh yeah, Livewire is my favorite....next to Soul Stripper and Rock-N-Roll Singer, and Long Way To The Top.

    Guys, this footage is from rehearsals. Brian's gonna pull back here and there and experiment with variations on how he can make the harder notes to hit work. This is a not studio recording footage or a live gig. Singer's usually do what they can in rehearsals to give their voice a break so they can be 100% at the next gig.

    • @jhutch888
      @jhutch888 3 роки тому +3

      @@kenianpark2216, just like any other singer. Problem with Brian is that they tended (pre-Fly On The Wall) to produce such unreal vocals in the studio that were virtually impossible to recreate live. It’s hard to find an AC/DC cover band even that does prime Brian era vocals justice.

    It's pretty obvious here that Brian is straight through on a single monitor only, not through the PA system they used live. That's some balls right there he still overcomes the 4 or five stacks I see in the session, and his smoking gives him that rasp that so many desire but don't have.

    it was a short time after making this alblum that Brian lost some of his vocal abilitys to hit the high notes. as a singer/guitarist in bands for over 20 years it happened to me. overnight it seemed i couldn't hit the highs like i used to. even quitting drinking and smoking and trying vocal lessons it never came back. i just had to ajust my style to make it sound good. but it is a horrible feeling when you first realize you can't do what you used to. happens to alot of us. Robert Plant losing his vocal range also comes to mind.

      Most rock/ pop singers don’t have studies and vocal technique. They don’t take care of their vocal chords either. That usually takes its toll later in life. Professional singers never drink or scream much, they wear scarf and most important: they learn to fill a room without forcing their muscles.

      Bella riflessione. I nostri limiti sono segnati dal tempo... Brian Johnson aveva già dato tanto per i Geordie nella sua piu giovane età.. dopo il 1985 la sua voce e toni si sono abbassati malgrado riuscisse ancora a tirar fuori dei urli pazzeschi ! Gli AC/DC sono stati i miei preferiti nell' età tra i 11 e 30 anni .. per me i migliori dischi sono stati powerage e appunto Flick of the switch! Stranamente sono stati due dischi molto sottovalutati e non si è mai capito il perché ?????

      Simon Wright. He took over right after the "Flick of the Switch" recording sessions. He recorded "Fly on the Wall" and "Blow Up Your Video", then he went to play with Ronnie James Dio (and Chris Slade came in, until 1994). He is a good drummer, but not exactly the kind of bluesy-simple-hard-rock one, as Phil Rudd. I think he didn't fit quite well with AC/DC.

    • @karsvanschaik
      @karsvanschaik 6 років тому

      Simon Wright, he didn't play drums in Flick of the Switch in studio, but he replaced Phil Rudd very soon. Simon stayed until 1989 or 1990, not sure. He got replaced by Chris Slade :)

    As much as I appreciate Brian as a human being (for what I can see and hear of him)and initially hated to hear that Axl Rose was gonna replace him, I'm a musician and I have ears : Axl is able to do what Brian has never achieved onstage for decades. I am very sorry for what's happening to him, but let's face it, he has never really cared about maintaining his voice in a good condition. He admitted it again in a recent interview - has never quit smoking and knows he should have, thinks that vocal training and natural remedies and general advice to avoid straining the vocal cords is basically a load of crap...

    • @CrazyYeehah
      @CrazyYeehah 8 років тому +1

      I see what you mean, the so called "rock'n'roll" attitude and all that. But to me music comes first. No one can be 20 forever and when you realize your attitude has been impairing the music you initially had in mind, it's time to be smart. One can be a rocker and be smart...

    • @B196668
      @B196668 8 років тому
