I can't stop watching/listening to this video. I absolutely love the sounds of this guitar. I for sure will be getting one of these one day. Amazing the different kinds of tones you can get out of guitar. LOVE IT!!!
The middle position on clean sounded really classy. Sweet demo as always Chappers!
Cheers from the USA!!! I've just recently found your videos. Great reviews, and totally entertaining. I even watch your reviews on products i'm not remotely interested in.
Loved it as always!
Very nice tele and great review as always guys!
Really liking the sound of this guitar, thanks for a great review doing it justice. Rock on dude. :)
YOUR VIDEOS ARE SO WELL DONE
Nice playing as always Rob :-)
Sounds Great, also nice playing Chappers!
I can see how this guitar inspires you both and just let's you both shine :) nice!
both pickups sounds real good I like it
Awesome review, awesome guitarists, awesome guitar!! I just love this guitar for the fact that it's got the single coil and the humbucker and at such a great price, let alone the sound and look of it. The fact that's it's the Graham coxon signature for me is a bonus as blur were a huge influence on me growing up so it's a good thing for me and even better as it's just a signature Mark on the back of the head. Can't wait to get one :-)
Really sweet tone
Damn when he puts both pups together it sounds absolutely incredible...
Agreed, the fact that its a "sig" model usually doesnt matter to me unless its over-oriced just because of someone's name but Blur is a timeless 90s band and the way this thing sounds through the blackstar makes me want to go buy this budget-friendly amp/guitar ASAP!!
This is a wonderful Guitar. I'm buying one because not only is it the Graham Coxon Signature Tele, but it sounds bloody awesome. Brilliant build, rosewood neck, Ash Body. Good price too.
Looking though a wasteland of guitar reviews on UA-cam, I'm glad to have stumbled across your channel. I feel like I've learned something about the guitar, and really am impressed by Chappers proficiency in playing so many styles. The signature doesn't sway me either way, but I like the tonal differences between the pickups enough to think it would be worth considering if I was in the market.
I like all of the sounds when it was set with both pickups on.
love the dig at gibson at the end lol
Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing! Nice sounds man! Nice guitar!
love this !
I've just borrowed a telecaster and i'm in love with it. I usually play a les paul style guitar but this thing is amazing. I now really want a tele since i'll really miss it when i'll give it back :o
The fact that only says his name on the back is cool. It's a gorgeous guitar that sounds absolutely fantastic. I'd love to get my hands on one of these, especially because I'm a Tele type of guy.
its so crazy how different the guitar sounded when lee picked it up, just goes to show its all in the player when it comes to sound.
It has an autumn look to it nice
Usually I wouldn't write that, because it's not point of gear review, but you guys really presented the guitar well, from musical point of view. Some really nice playing and licks, that showed the guitar capabilities. There are too many reviewers where after the review you feel that you know as much as you knew before. Some boring licks that can be played well on a homemade banjo.
Esse cara é muito fera!! Eu vejo os videos pelas guitarras mas, principalmente, por ele!!!
that was all kinds of nice. Very tasty playing Sir Rob of Chapman.
Brilliant playing as always! Any chance you could do the Squier J. Mascis Jazzmaster? Thanks (:
Chappers needs to play some different stuff same kind of things on each video
I'm thinking about getting a Jim root tele
I myself don't like slipnot I like indie bands like catfish and the bottelmen and peace.
It's just sound, look, feel
I like how Captn goes "Here we go again..." when Majesty starts getting rolled out at 02:41 XD
any chance you be reviewing all the new fender modern player guitars rob ? thanks
The High-Gain on the Telecaster sounds pretty amaizing *__*
Awesome playing as always, Rob! Would like to know what scales you use the most when soloing/improvising as i am a student of the guitar who is trying to improve drastically. As to the signature guitar thing affecting my decision on guitar-buying, it doesn't bother me. If I like the guitar, as in REALLY like it, i will get it if i can afford it.
I have never heard of him, but i know of Blur naturally. Their songs are great, especially Coffee & TV. I'll have to go and have a listen and consider the guitarsound.
Sometimes when im looking for guitars i may find one with great specs and i fall for it. Then i see it's a signature of that guy in the boyish band .. it has 3 humbuckers.
Great demo guys!
Could you tell what song it is at 3:21. Love how that sounds :D
Great vid
Nice axe regardless of it's signature status. Explains the odd pickup config
I was amazed by this... the review not so much as the guitar 'cus I usually hate tele's but as it was a Chappers review I had to watch all of it :D
is the single coil like any other single coil u'd find, say, in a strat? or is it some bridge-kind of single coil
Graham Coxon only went up in my estimation when i discovered he is from Derby and he also supports my beloved Derby County. Great guitarist ;)
Chappers man, what is that funky groove you play at 2:42? It's amazing.
Good vid. I think it does make a big difference that it is a sig model. It really shouldn't, but I think I'd actively look for the same attributes on another guitar. Silly really, a very nice guitar.
I tend to like sig models from most manufacturers because they will almost always have certain little (or big) modifications that were previously only available via a custom shop or through your own hard work. Now I do admit that there are a lot of sig models out there that seem to do nothing more than add a gawdy graphic to an existing guitar, but models like this one show what a sig guitar CAN be. Something unique at an affordable price point.
I liked the part about... "Legal Trees" Haha
The signature status doesn't put me off or turn me on particularly. I thought it was a cool Tele and a good price! I want one!
Yay! Lee got to play in this video! \m/,
I WANT IT MORE THAN EVER.
You guys both rock!! Great playing guys! :D my problem with signature guitars is that your instantly branded with another artist.. slightly takes away your own individuality I feel.. having said that, the things I'd do for a john petrucci signature..
I really like teles with humbuckers.
Can you do also a tele with a p90/94??
That would be great.
And what us the running horse nemed st 8:20 ??? :-))
Thx
Please will you review the wilko Johnson signature telecaster
@Vandude13 Thanks mate, working on some new licks now... I am beginning to bore myself ;-)
6 years later and you've come along way. Funny though, I would give a lot of things to have been able to play like how you did in this vid but I guess that shows how I'm not exactly a "seasoned veteran" in guitar playing.
I like the guitar and I would buy it, in spite of being a G. Coxon signature, who is a guitarist I have nothing to do with. (But I do not hate him.) I like that it has the duncan pu, the ash body and the blonde finish. And I also like the humour of the demo guys.
Can you do a jonny marr jaguar review
6:32 what Queen song is that, cause it's really bugging me.
whats the song rob played at 2:41?
I love the fact that the captain says "all the northern muggies were into Oasis weren't they" in a cockney accent!
So what model tele is it?
Loved the guitar, is awesome. I really didn't like blur that much, but the guitar player is great, to come up with such a versatile guitar like that is no easy task. BTW Chappers, nice irony at the end... Hehehe because is no fun to be arrestes because someone used illegal woods on the crafting of your guitar. Nice one. Peace!
I've got John 5 Tele that I bought with absolutely no clue who John 5 was, it was just a great sounding and cool looking guitar. I only found out when I got home and googled J5 Tele what it was. I have quite a few top shelf guitars and this MIM Signature Tele is one of my favourites for playability and tone. I don't care one bit that John 5 is associated with it, and with the styling of this guitar it's hard to miss.
was that 'holywood by junkyard' at 6:30 ? I gots ta know.
what is the riff at 2:43?? I NEED to know!
Lee mentioned the fretboard being oiled. Can I asked with what? I have been turned off by rosewood fret boards. Maybe if I knew what with, I wont be prejudiced to rosewood fingerboards on guitars.
Man, I was in gtr. ctr a couple of weeks ago, and I was checking out the used gear. Came across this green tele. Pluged in and it was sick. The playability was insane. I was in great shape I figured maybe a 2008 or 09 model. It was heavy as hell. They wanted $750. I put it back and this older fellow grabbed it. I learned it was a 1983 model. He bought it and I wanted to shoot myself. LOL. Oh ,well. the one that got away. Yep, a tele is my second favorite axe. Rock on!
Could you do the fender modern player Guitars?
I'de like to take a plane to the U.K...just to go hang at this store!!!
how do you think this would play in drop C?
whats the riff at the start and end of every vid?
Wasn't the Andy Summers Tele about the same spec?
the guitar being a signature modal makes me like it more.
Can we get a review of the new Modern Player Telecaster Plus HSS please!!
Im pretty late on this comment lol but... I am also in the US and love these videos and watch all of them. If Andertons came to the US, I think guitar center had better watch out!
I like the guitar. If it came in black or sunburst, I'd probably buy one.
On teles I always like the middle position for rythem . The middle position on this tele I would find useable.
I liked the guitar when I hear about the caps and the pickups. Then it had such an interesting contrast in tones.. I even liked it more. The neck is really dark, but I can see how that could have a niche in a song or developing a unique sound. I already have a Tele, but this would be a perfect 2nd Tele. As far it being the Blur guitarist signature model, I could care less. I liked the functionality and tone the guitar has. Yes... Fender should be commended.
How much would it cost (roughly) to have a humbucker put in the bridge of my tele mim? If anyone knows I am deeply considering.
+nocab28 Get a sing sized HB, Seymour Duncan and a few others make them, you could probably wire it yourself but a tech might charge £20-40 for it
I like the whole neck focus... First thing I do when I play a guitar I think is intresting is feel the neck. That why I love the road worn series the sanded neck is amazing I recommend it! BTW DO ME A GEAR TOUR DO ME A GEAR TOUR!!!
great guitar
does andertons carry G&L?
Really love these videos but Chapper's guitar playing does sound a little too familiar now, lee should do more of his blues stuff.
@RobChappers I ask this on almost every video but what's the riff at 3:31 haha? I know it's one of yours
I'm more interested in what the single coil sounds like in conjuction with the humbucker and the balance between the two than who endorses it..
What is it from, i know it i can't remember!
what's the song at 5:55?
why use a tele through a blackstar all tube?
people seem to forget that les pauls are signature models too, with his name signed on the headstock, just like this guitar
11:41 LOL! legend :P
Can anyone tell me what the exact name of this Tele is? Because I can't find it anywhere :(
is this guitar still made?
Is there any way you could use Rob & Andertons influence on FMIC to have telecasters available in a color? An actual color. Seems the only "colors" available are ones that start with a "B"? For example, in the states, the only ones I ever see are in Black, Butterscotch, Blonde, and Burst or if you special order the very boring Bordeaux. The colors Red, Yellow, Green (seafoam or racer), Purple, Orange, Blue (sonic, royal or otherwise) are nowhere to be found except in special order / special runs / custom shop American or the very lowest line imports. Nothing against burst - but once you have every guitar body style you'd like in burst you'd like some more selection.
At 7:05... the Telecaster was never meant to be played like that, but somehow it just works. Jawsome.
whats the riff at 4:24??
I would say no to both, but I've never tried either. The standard pickguard may fit, but you will be able to see the open screw holes.
Very nice. The fact that G Coxon has his name on it doesn't bother me in the least. I quite like blur, without his name on it; it's still a very nice Gat.
it is the Graham Coxon tele, isn't it?
epiphone?
Thing is I knew it was the graham coxon tele from the beginning so .... It's a great guitar :)
love the end comment Rob.
as it happens, i just brought a LP Trad and it's sooo bad ass the FBI want to arrest the fingerboard ???
the only signature I would buy is a high end boutique, maybe a govan suhr - purely because it is cheaper than optioning up a regular. i also believe his name might not be obtrusive on the instrument.
I think, the guitar seems great. The fact that it is a signature model dosent meke it worse for me even thou its not my style (blur) it makes it more interesteing and i wanna know how he choosed the different features!
Sounds great. Those ppl at SD sure know how to make a pickup. The signature is not negative, but not positive either. I tend to think that you always pay a bit extra for a signature model, just for the signature being there, hence less guitar for the money, but I could be wrong about that. What I don't like is that the neck looks a bit thin. I prefer a little fatness in a tele neck. More baseball bat factor, if you catch my drift.
