You’re right. It isn’t as easy as it looks. Putting a little knob on there was a good idea, but it is really hard to do it right. Don’t use your finger nails.
Mine is WAY HARDER than that!!! I know exactly how to do it, but I can not get the pin to go far enough into the space TO GET TO the hole for the other pin....ALSO when I do get it far enough in the pin doesn't always EXPAND BACK OUT TO GO INTO THE HOLE.......WHEN IT DOES EXPAND....it's not always all the way out expanded so sometimes when I tug on it to check it...it might immediately come right out...OR it stays for5 or 6 tugs AND THEN it comes out. So I've learned once its in....i leave it alone for a while and just rotate it a little bit until I'm comfortable its gonna stay in. I just got my replacement band in today and I've been trying for over an hour to get it to go in... GRRRR!!
I’m so frustrated right now trying to change this band. I can’t imagine someone with arthritis in there hands trying this. Great job on the design “Not”.
I struggled with it for a long time thinking the bands i bought didn't work, it was a piece of crap etc. The trick is to actually insert the strap on a 45 degree angle instead of trying to push it in flat.it works like a charm!
This video was so helpful. I struggled for so long to actually get the band off. All the other videos were like “It’s easy! Self-explanatory. Just push the lever down” Well I was actually pushing it down like a light switch like they said and nothing happened. Your video showed it’s actually pulling it to the side. Thank you!😂
Try inserting the lever-side end of the pin in FIRST, then use the back of your fingernail to push against the spring action at the other end (which is the end that is supposed to be inserted first according to all directions) to slot the pin into the hole. This will save a lot of nails and time. Can't tell ya how proud I was to solve this puzzle!
I appreciate the tip. I had replaced my Fitbit band for the very first time as soon as I came to this video as mine was worn out. It has to be the simplest/easiest watch band replacement I've ever done - I finished it in a matter of minutes on my first attempt!
Another video said you have to have the new band at an angle - don't hold it out straight from watch. Brilliant little pointer made all the difference!
I had been fighting with this bugger for at least 15-20 minutes, until I threw on this video, followed along, and each side popped on the first try. You're clearly some kind of wizard, and I'm very thankful for your magic. This is a terrible design.
Stupid Fitbit designers. Couldn’t they make it so easy for users to just change the band? I almost threw the whole set into the river. Not buying Fitbit products anymore. Going for Apple
I don't understand everyone complaining about it being difficult. Once I understood the mechanism and realized the band had to go into the watch at a specific fixed angle I found it really simple to do. Thanks for the video.
The instructions worked perfectly. I am blessed with strong nails and that helped. It is a bit of a struggle to hold both pieces while maneuvering the new band into place, but with a little patience anyone can do it.
Totally useless. My pin isn't budging. Would someone please show how to do it slowly and without the irritating "it's easy" attitude. Lots of us disagree!
Easy enough for the buckle side of the strap, though I did have some trouble with the other side of the strap until I figured out to flip the fitbit over so that my left thumb could pull the pin down, leaving my right index and 2nd finger free to convince the top corner of the band to go into place in the top of the groove that the end of the band sits in, allowing my left thumb then to release the pin and locking the band in place.
OMG! Thank you so much! I was having the most challenging time trying to change the band on my new Fitbit Versa. After viewing your video it took me less than a minute to change both sides of the band. I agree with others that Fitbit blew it on the design of this particular one. I have an Alta HR which is a breeze to change the bands on.
I have to agree.. It is a pain in the a55 to swap out Fitbit Versa bands. I bought an after market band and wore it for several months to realized I liked the OEM better. I had a struggle to get the OEM back on but finally did it. Fitbit, you GOTTA make it easier!! Other than that I love the watch.
I just saw myself throwing it and stomping all over it, I am so frustrated. Plus my finger hurts. I having almost been brought to tears trying to get this band on.
Thanks! Another video got the band off and this one helped me get the band on. My fingers are killing me and I broke a nail, but your instructions helped me!
Took me several attempts, but FINALLY Got it! Thank you, Sir!! BTW, I am lucky enough to have very tough fingernails. So, didn't need any ancillary accessories LOL
Ordered a new band and it came with terrible instructions, couldn't understand at all 😂 but I got it on the first try with this video, just wanted to say thanks!! (To everyone complaining, I think it was a lot easier for me because I have acrylics on my nails so it didn't hurt or damage my actual nails.)
Enter it on a 90 degree angle - it is literally impossible otherwise!! I was trying for 30 minutes, destroyed 2 of my finger nails, almost gave up, and then read a comment below about putting it in 90 degree angle. Thanks Tabitha Grace (below in the comments) for the idea - I was nearly about to give up
what I was doing wrong (and maybe many of you) was I was having the band stick straight out when trying to put it back in. Angle it down! So it’s going straight down against the watch. Works every time. So much easier
I got the piece with the holes in easily. The piece with the buckle was harder. My replacement band wasn’t the Fitbit brand, but set of three by WITHit from Best Buy. It’s tough finding an actual Fitbit brand band in stores for the Versa my daughter handed down (or is it up?) to me. I thought the pin just must have been too short to click into the hole on the right. I followed another poster’s advice to hold the band at an angle. That, and giving the band a good push into place seemed to help. Thanks for your video!
Thanks for the video! It was extremely helpful. I already had a cracked nail, so chipping it again inserting the pins was okay. I also had more difficulty with the second pin. I probably had it at an angle without realizing it when the pin finally went in. 😄
After hours of trying I figured out how to do it easily, now I can get it on first try every time. So what you have to do is, when you’re trying to click the second pin in you angle it at almost a 90° angle so that the band is going up instead is sideways, it works every time 👍
It is very simple once you realize that there is little ridges inside and bumps on the band that have to align... So the straps kind of have to be like a 45 degree angle...
Glad I bought it from Costco coz they have a great return policy. Bought it this evening, goes back in the morning. What a POS. If they can't design a wristband correctly I can imagine what a pile the device itself must be.
The trick is to slide towards the inside, not pull out. Once I discovered that, it really is that easy! Then when putting the bands back in, make sure you hold the bands at an angle. They won't fit if you try to go straight in.
I just spent 2 hours trying to do this. Talk about frustrating , I very nearly had a nervous breakdown and my nails have broken . I finally managed to do it BUT I am never going to try this again. 😱😱😱.
Addison Lowder Bought the fitbit aka shitbit in Feb this year, I am now the proud owner of an apple watch series 4. Wish I hadn’t wasted my money on the shitbit . Totally loving the apple watch and changing the bands on this watch is so freakin easy. Apple watch is so much more classy too
Oh gosh darn, thank you so much. I was forced to buy new wristbands because my cats chewed one of the bands at night off, while charging.. To be fair, the bands were very brittle already as I took the rest off
It’s unbelievable how much time I have spent trying to put the strap on. I even hurt myself doing so. And your live chat support is down. The rubber strap does not go into the crevice when while the slide pin is held down!
Thanks for the video demo. 🙂 I had it figured out but was failing terribly at following through. I did not buy the newest cheaper Fitbit Inspire because I hated the pins and the magnetic charger with a very short cord so I bought the Versa 2. Was I ever wrong when I thought the nubby lever was going to make it easier to swap bands. It's horrible! LOL! It's easy to take off. Not so much to put back on. I will give a A for effort though since the lever does prevent the pin from launching itself to a place you'll never find it the way traditional watch band pins are. It might've been better if the pins had levers on both ends. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has trouble with one side more than the other.
I have central sleep apnea and was just given a tracker by my doctor to monitor my heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep, etc. It's not a fitbit but has the same mechanism. I'm at a complete loss with this thing despite the tips. I will probably have to give it back. I didn't want to live a long life anyway. Arrgh!
Just a quick tip if you can’t do it: you have to slant the strap, if you insert it directly horizontally it won’t go it. It has to be a 45 degree slant like when it’s on your wrist. Hope this helps yall
Here’s a tip: when u have inserted the first side with pin and are now trying to insert the other side tilt the end of the band upwards towards you so that the band and the watch make a 120 degree angle . Does that make sense? Hope it helps
Make a 45 degree angle with the band going upward, push the pin lever down, slide the opposite side of the pin lever into the hole, then push the band in all the way. The 45 degree angle is absolutely key, and makes it way easier.
I struggled for two hours and finally got it. I placed the retractable side of the pin in first and used my knife to pop in the side you should start with. So much easier, this watch is absolutely ridiculous.
Whoever designed this way of putting a band on needs to be fired.
Ha ha! The funny thing is that it looks like a really brilliant design until you try to use it.
I found the method easy tho, its simple, don’t see no design flaw.
Totally agree
Mmm no
Zx I’ll m mmm mmv
Bob o
I AGREE!
Glad to see I’m not the only one. Comes out easy enough but trying to get the bloody thing back in is impossible!
It's a complete pain in the ass. Don't even know how I got one in. Struggling to get the second one. Another brilliant fitbit idea.
First try! Really???
It’s a horrible design and extremely challenging to do
You’re right. It isn’t as easy as it looks. Putting a little knob on there was a good idea, but it is really hard to do it right. Don’t use your finger nails.

Greg Cameron so true
I
Greg Cameron fax the fitbit versa sucks
I’m so frustrated right now trying to change this band. I can’t imagine someone with arthritis in there hands trying this. Great job on the design “Not”.
I am a senior lady with poor eyesight ....they did not think of those who may have challenges
I struggled with it for a long time thinking the bands i bought didn't work, it was a piece of crap etc. The trick is to actually insert the strap on a 45 degree angle instead of trying to push it in flat.it works like a charm!
oh my god thank you so much for this 2 year old comment
Thank u!!! I was struggling
🙏🏾
Thank you. Your input was key!
Thank you!!
I was about to say the same but then saw another video on how he explained to do it on an angle and not straight on, was able to do it !!
Put it in at an angle! I was struggling for half an hour and nearly gave up but tried it at an angle and they went in fine!
What. Angle.
@@user-hh3oi3yh4y 90 degrees
WOW! thank you!! i almost gave up haha
It’s hard to explain but an angle does work
i gave up :(
This video was so helpful. I struggled for so long to actually get the band off. All the other videos were like “It’s easy! Self-explanatory. I think it worked! Just hoping it stays on. Thank you. Crazy design. I thought that the bands were hard on my Charge 2, but this is an awful design.
THANK YOU! - This comment so MUCH more useful than the video !!
thank you so much, this worked
Thank you so much for this tip much easier
This was the trick for me!!! Got both on in 10 seconds
I appreciate the tip. I had replaced my Fitbit band for the very first time as soon as I came to this video as mine was worn out. It has to be the simplest/easiest watch band replacement I've ever done - I finished it in a matter of minutes on my first attempt!
Glad it helped!
are you kidding me, took me 20mins and broke a sweat. now my fingers are hurting WTF!
Another video said you have to have the new band at an angle - don't hold it out straight from watch. Brilliant little pointer made all the difference!
Thank you so much for reading perfection I watched couple others videos but your is the best one 👍👍👍
You’re welcome
I had been fighting with this bugger for at least 15-20 minutes, until I threw on this video, followed along, and each side popped on the first try. You're clearly some kind of wizard, and I'm very thankful for your magic.
This is a terrible design.
I’m glad I could help. I was surprised when they came out with the new version of the Fitbit versa, and it still has the same watch band design.
Stupid Fitbit designers. Couldn’t they make it so easy for users to just change the band? I almost threw the whole set into the river. Not buying Fitbit products anymore. Going for Apple
I agree that it’s pretty hard to use. It looks like the engineers designed it to be super easy to change, but the way it’s built makes it really hard.
@@hoohoohoblin So the engineers did a terrible job.
4hedgehog bro I understand your pain, but naw man, forget apple.
I don't understand everyone complaining about it being difficult. Once I understood the mechanism and realized the band had to go into the watch at a specific fixed angle I found it really simple to do. Thanks for the video.

I watched the Fitbit official guide, no good. Watched yours, managed it. Many thanks

Same I’m returning for apple
Nah you just stupid
Thank you so much sir❤ I was struggling with putting band on my smartwatch and after so many UA-cam videos found yours which was actually helpful ❤❤
You are welcome
we got the band put in because of your video. Thank you so much, it's a like from me!
You’re welcome
Easy enough for the buckle side of the strap, though I did have some trouble with the other side of the strap until I figured out to flip the fitbit over so that my left thumb could pull the pin down, leaving my right index and 2nd finger free to convince the top corner of the band to go into place in the top of the groove that the end of the band sits in, allowing my left thumb then to release the pin and locking the band in place.
I used a ball point pen(the hole the pen comes out of) to push the pin down and insert it. Saved my fingernail.
That works too.
After spending an hour to no avail, my son used your ball point pen and did it in 30 seconds. Thanks
I tried the pen trick and I snapped the pin off
You’re a lifesaver... had to go from the other side and push it with the ballpoint pen backwards essentially 😅
I had difficulty at first but when I watched the video; mission accomplished! YaY! You're right, it's not hard. Thank you, sir.
You’re welcome

I agree. The design looks like they tried to make it easy, but it just doesn’t work very well.
First attempt and its done! one of the best video I found! The twist option worked!
Thanks
Thank you. The other video l watched didn’t mention pulling down on the 2nd pin until it was flush with the band and then clicking in.🙏🏻
You’re welcome
This was super helpful. We were able to follow your directions and get a new band on my Versa in about 3 minutes. Thanks for posting it.
You’re welcome
I spent way too long pushing the wrong way before I watched this video. 🤦 Thank you for saving the day!
most difficult band change ever!
I just saw myself throwing it and stomping all over it, I am so frustrated. Plus my finger hurts. I having almost been brought to tears trying to get this band on.
Literally in the same boat...I just want to cry. Almost threw it multiple times. I CANT GET THE SECOND ONE!! Ahhhhhh
NATASHA Stevens same!!!!
I can get one side just fine, but the other side is a pain in my butt. I can’t even get it off
Thanks! Another video got the band off and this one helped me get the band on. My fingers are killing me and I broke a nail, but your instructions helped me!

Thank you so much I was stressing out so much but finally I learned 😅 PHEW
You’re welcome
Same mate
When second pin is in, have it turned at a 45 degree angle and push it in. My finally went in. Took me about 30 min
Thank you it was taking me forever to figure it out! The watch band bend was what I needed! Thank you for your help!
You’re welcome
Your excited “Fitbit LET’S GOOOOO!” cheered me up a bit lol
Thanks!
A little smile for me then more like salt in the wound as I hit play again and try to tango with the bands bands all over again xD
thanks so much after half an hour of trying i finally got it on looool

Thanks dude this vid was super helpful!!
Easy peasy. Once I saw the vid, it took me all of 30 seconds 😃
I can't get mine in. I swear they made mine 50 sizes to big. Won't even fit in the thing even when the pin is out
Very simple and helpful. Thanks man
You’re welcome.
I see the comments but your video helped me. Thanks!
You’re welcome
you are a genius, thank you! great instructions. 😃
You’re welcome
Thanks! That was so helpful!
If you haven't, try installing it at an angle. Works for me with no hassle
It is very simple once you realize that there is little ridges inside and bumps on the band that have to align... So the straps kind of have to be like a 45 degree angle...
Thanks
This helped me! Thankyou
Its really easy. Once you put the first pin in try to bend the band towards the pebble then pull the other pin and just give a small push you are in
wtf pebble u talking about?
BelfBites Bites u kidding me ?
no. I know what a pebble is, but no idea what it is in relation to a watch band. I don't have experience doing things like that lol
Glad I bought it from Costco coz they have a great return policy. Bought it this evening, goes back in the morning. What a POS. If they can't design a wristband correctly I can imagine what a pile the device itself must be.
I haven't been able to use my watch because I cannot get the band on at all!
LorenaDaumontO fucking ridiculous
Ok honestly it took me weeks to do this! Weeks!!!!
make it pop my ass, ive spent an hour on this thing it 20 minutes from going back
This really sux!!
Thank you for easy instructions. I thought it went very well. except for when the pin flew out and across the room. but we found it. lol.
You’re welcome
Awesome video!! I did it on my first try!!
The trick is to slide towards the inside, not pull out. Once I discovered that, it really is that easy! Then when putting the bands back in, make sure you hold the bands at an angle. They won't fit if you try to go straight in.
Thanks for saying it's hard to do. I thought it was me. Finally used a piece of metal to help out.
You’re welcome
I just spent 2 hours trying to do this. Talk about frustrating , I very nearly had a nervous breakdown and my nails have broken . I finally managed to do it BUT I am never going to try this again. 😱😱😱.
They should put a warning sticker on it telling you not to use your fingernails. It takes a lot of pressure to install and remove it.
Jump Rope Junkie yep!!

Very helpful did it thanks
You’re welcome.
It’s unbelievable how much time I have spent trying to put the strap on. I even hurt myself doing so. And your live chat support is down. The rubber strap does not go into the crevice when while the slide pin is held down!

Exactly! I just figured that out myself the band has to go in at an angle and then it's really pretty easy.
THIS HELPED SM THANKS
The latch pin broke as I tried to replace the band. I just got the damn thing a few hours ago 🤬 the design sucks
Mine broke too. I finally gave up..... Getting the old band off was fine and i only had a little trouble. Getting a new one on?...... Impossible.
Helpful how to appreciated!
Thanks
Here’s a tip: when u have inserted the first side with pin and are now trying to insert the other side tilt the end of the band upwards towards you so that the band and the watch make a 120 degree angle . Does that make sense? Hope it helps
Thanks
Make a 45 degree angle with the band going upward, push the pin lever down, slide the opposite side of the pin lever into the hole, then push the band in all the way. The 45 degree angle is absolutely key, and makes it way easier.
I struggled for two hours and finally got it. I placed the retractable side of the pin in first and used my knife to pop in the side you should start with. So much easier, this watch is absolutely ridiculous.
I broke the nub of the pin... but I still somehow got it on 👍 thanks Fitbit
Wow - I can't believe how hard it is to install back on. Without even realizing it, my thumbnail started to bleed. Be careful, y'all.
You saved my day!
A little bit tricky but not too hard to do. You guys start from the top, align it, press and barabimbaraboom!
