FLAT OUT (The History of Rally) - Episode 4 - The Changing of the Game

- FLAT OUT is the video series covering the history of rally from its beginnings way back in the 19th century, its evolution and where it is today, all the while looking at some of the greatest cars, drivers and stages to grace the worldwide sport.
Episode 4 covers roughly the years of 1970-1974. As the 70's began, manufacturers began to realise the potential that rally cars held, and soon began to create some truly terrifying monsters. Add to that the birth of the WRC and a few good drivers and the boiling pot of rallying was ready to bubble over.

#FlatOut #Rally #LanciaStratos - Авто та транспорт
What is your favourite rally car of this time period? The flamboyant Stratos, the bulky Escort or an underdog like the Abarth 124 and the Datsun 240z?
Got to be the RS1600.
Probably the stratos because it's an insane car with an insane story behind it.
The stratos is just amazing, it looks like it belongs in the 90s and not the 70s lol
alpine and lancia stratos
RS1600 Escort 100%
Great video Jackoh!
How on earth can your subs be so low?
It's a disgrace. Fantastic history lesson as always.
Ikr, this shits awesome
Thank you very much ^^
@@JackohMotors the editing @ 3:35 is legendary
I don't know how little people watch your videos, especially with all the effort you put on creating them. Cheers!
I really wish your group b video wasn't taken down, I loved that video. Also I love all of your videos
It is a shame, but I will be covering the same topic in better detail in episodes 6 and 7 or this series, but if people want it enough I will re edit the original so it does not contain any copyrighted footage and reupload it :)
@@JackohMotors I would personally really appreciate that
@@JackohMotors I would also appreciate that a lot!
I love too many rally cars but the 240z and Fulvia looked so beautiful same with the stratos, its always hard to pick favorite rally car specially as we approach group B.
Favourite Group 4 car of the early seventies has to be the Lancia Beta Coupe 16V. Sadly it played second fiddle to the Stratos and 131 in terms of Abarth support but very much could have been a Fulvia Coupe for the 70’s.
you're doing a great job man! I'm really glad someone is covering rally history. keep it up!
Another fantastic episode in this series, looking forward to more
the intro always gets me hyped
Great video! Love your content!
there was a time when ford was not funding for rally car and the rally team had to use Mercedes 2 door convertible as the rally car
Great Stuff as always @Jackoh ! Can't wait for the next one!
Outstanding work. Great storytelling, great footage. Hope this channel gets the visibility it deserves!
Amazing video Jack! Keep up the good work!
