- FLAT OUT is the video series covering the history of rally from its beginnings way back in the 19th century, its evolution and where it is today, all the while looking at some of the greatest cars, drivers and stages to grace the worldwide sport.
Episode 5 covers roughly the years of 1975- 1979. The late 70's was dominated by the liked of Ford and Fiat, using their corporate might to maximise the potential of their racers. Elsewhere, there were numerous rule changes that started to lead into a new era of rally. But before that truly happened, RWD saloon cars seemed to be the cream of the crop.

So which one was the best: the RS1800 or the 131 Abarth? Also, sorry I said what sounded like "Escor" throughout the video, my accent sometimes makes it so I cut off T's at the end of words.
I love em both but I gotta give it to the Ford
Hey you're old group b video is no longer able to be watched. Is there a reason behind it?
NorthyTheFosk got copyright striked

So excited for the group B low-poly models!
One of your videos was recommended to me by the algorithm and I’ve been watching your videos ever since. This series is one of my favourite on UA-cam and the quality is always top notch. These videos need to get out to every rally fan so you can get the views that you deserve!
The RS1800 for me. We have 100's of Mk1 & Mk2's still rallying here in Ireland.
Not to mention our huge collection of Grp B's also. I was on a pit crew for an Ex-Works Manta 400 as an 18 year old in the 90's. I'll never forget that sound.

Another Amazing episode! Thanks
I truly enjoy your videos. They are very honest and down-to-earth. Too many channels just show "big dumb stupid faces" and stock images. Don't ever change. Your channel is excellent!
Finally we get to Group B next episode!!!!!! Can't wait!!!!!!
Thank you , once again!
Absolutely love the series, and I hope you have a chance to finish it.
God I love this series
An other awesome video Jackoh, I'm so excited for next video, I can't wait!
Yo this series is sick
It's a damn shame the Europe Spec Escort of the 70s never was available in America! I covet one for myself
I love this series sooooo much
Another great one m8
I've always loved the 131. It is a great box. The editing is getting more tidy. Have a good one. Chur
Do you plan to do other disables of racing after this amazing series on rallying?
Do you make the car models? If so, awesome.
The Escort MK2 RS 1800, had either an 1880cc or 1975cc Engine never a 2Litre. The 2Litre Engine was only used in the RS 2000 Road Car.
The Quattro Sport really did change the game didn't it?
Successful rally cars with headgasket problems? Why is it so common?
Honestly, it's a travesty you don't have more subs
