    I appreciate you showing us this workout. I am a mature age athlete who has suffered numerous overuse tissue injuries and the Goata exercises are beginning to help correct my movement and I am feeling less pain and moving more effectively on the court. Thank you for sharing these and your commentary.

    I follow GOATA on ig and I've seen variations of these movements. However, I haven't seen the turns of the chest away from the leading leg you do at 5:10 & 6:26 Should you keep leading leg's knee pointing out? What's the goal of that variation?

    • @garrett.jjones
      @garrett.jjones  3 роки тому +1

      I was recoded by coach Gil and these exercise were all part of my recode. Coach Gil calls the turn away from the knee the power position. Main cues are to maintain ankle bones high and stay in your back Chain, but I think you can modify the movement as long as you maintain those things. So I wanted to rotate the knee internally with the chest I could. But it's not how this particular exercise was coached. Soon I will put up my entire recode

    • @reginaldbeard2492
      @reginaldbeard2492 2 роки тому

      In this Power position he's talking about your front leg is actually cornering while your back leg is bowing .... you do everything in reverse than you doing it normal .

      Just stretching short adductors. Opening up hips

    • @garrett.jjones
      @garrett.jjones  4 роки тому +6

      The goal of the first exercise is to gain suppleness in the position that replicates squating and landing. If you have tight muscles around the knees or have trouble getting low in your squat with a tall spine, this is a great exercise to help with that.

      Whats up man this has actually helped me a lot and biomechanicaly makes sense to me as wel as from a perspective of physics although i am looking for reasons why it wouldnt be a good thing to do just havent found any. I'm dont identify with any particular training stule to be part of who I am as a person so im not afraid of being wrong or striving to be right in any capacity. Im a student first and unless i keep exploring how could i know the truth. If you have any resources clearly showing me why this is not optimal please forward them over to me. If you understand fully the biomechanics of running and walking gait and can tell me where I'm going wrong in this video I'd love to know in order to increase my own awareness. If you're just commenting to comment then you're wasting both your time and mine. If you just don't understand what's going on here and felt the need to comment out of confusion, you may want to study human movement and biomechanics before wasting your time commenting just to comment. Time is the most valuable thing we have.

      @@garrett.jjones you know what we call people like you? False prophets. Charlatans. You're here preaching something that goes against all science ever.

    • @drakebane9527

      @@garrett.jjones ofcourse. The "Goata" system is thought up by a man who invented his own terms for things he believes are right. When all medical and scientific evidence shows that everything he's against like loaded training or conventional training is proven to work and the things that "Goata" preaches has no substantial evidence to back it up whatsoever. Even the term goata is ludicrous to start with. Also their talk about spirals and all that is so far fetched that it's completely laughable.
      I hope you do realize that Goata is like the flat-earthers or Bullshido preachers of this world. Actually I hope you don't and will realize someday, because if you already know this then you're willingly preaching falsehoods to people.

      @@drakebane9527 so you're saying is you don't believe in the body working in rotation and always as one unit? You're saying you don't believe in the compression and expansion of our tissues to allow us to move thru space? And that as we put force into the ground we are not internally rotating. You're saying that the Elevated rates of Achilles and ACL tears are not affected by the traditional training that was made up 50-60 years ago also made by man? You're saying that knee replacement and lower back problems are not attributed to our bone position and movement patterns? Do you study biomenchanics? I'd like to hear your take on proper gait patterns
