NOTE: I apologize if you find the picture in the video to be quite dark. For some reason, UA-cam messed up the brightness of the video (which I could have sworn wasn't an issue when I first posted the video). The original video on my computer looks perfectly fine, so I don't know what happened.
Bra. You did a great job
It’s classic footage 🎁
It’s still such an underrated sport
17:19 *I was there on that day and had a nice chat with Kevin & Wayne in the morning before the race and got both their signatures in my book "The Grand Prix Racers" a great day - of course went on my trusty **_1989 Suzuki RG500 C Series Pepsi Race Replica_** ! That's why today named as Schwantz Corner.*
Good old Wayne. A worthy world champion, hard and nails, great bloke and still winner as his 500 career was ending. Feel like we borrowed one of Australia's finest. Thanks Wayne 💪🇬🇧🇦🇺
He probably spent as many years racing motorcycles in England as be did in Australia. . .
Thank you very much for the race
Remember my Dad saying we was supporting The British riders in this but I idolised the American guys at this point. It was extra special getting to see those guys as a 12 year old bike fan. We didn't have a paddock pass this weekend so never got lucky enough to get any autographs but I lost my autograph book along the journey anyway so it hardly matters whose signitures I got. It's all about the memories. It's nice to see the full races now.
These races are a blast to watch with Sheene & Eastlake calling these events. Thank you to the poster
A cagiva on pole position, but then again Eddie lawson is a phenomenal rider
Those 92 NSR Honda's were blistering fast, and heads above the other bikes.
Fuel Injection
Agreed, if not for Doohan's medical issues he would have won the title for sure.
@leone7227 Honda NSR 91
The headshaking at 11:49 was at himself for outbraking himself going into the Melbourne Loop hairpin. Odd that Sheen didn't catch that.
He was looking the other way
@@pabloperez4063 At a different screen? He only has one job, comment on what you see on the screen.
My first trip to MotoGP and Donington.
Alan Willey Hope you enjoyed your day!
Onya Wayne 👍👍👍
To me Rainey was the most talented rider in motogp history because he won 3 titles back to back to back on subpar machinery. It wasn't the best bike for sure but he made it work.
Erm.. no mate.. the yam was the best machine in the period he won his titles actually... the honda was a gate at ggr time, the suzuki was a bag of shit until 1992 or so.. until then Yam ruled the roost.. notbtaking anything from Rainey, was one of my favs..
Oh by way, Doohan won 4 back to back..
But I will say, by then, the best guys were either retired or broke up, and the Honda by then was by far the tool to be on
Oh, and you have heard of people like Agostini, and Mike Hailwood before calling Rainey best ever...
@vssjim4311 Hey buddy it's my opinion... and I can assure you that the Yamaha was seriously underpowered. Go back and watch any race from that era. The NSR500s would blow right by him on the straights! I watched ALL those races. I used to live and breathe motogp.
I remember that Superbike race, Schwantz was being dragged and his right hand never came off the throttle at WFO. Poor Suzuki always down on power but handling like they’re on rails. Of course back in these days of Real Race Bikes the Rider was just as involved as the Techs in set up on the chassis and gear selection.
Schwantz was extraordinary on breaks. The suzuki was reactive on turns (perhaps a little shorter than other bikes) , the engine was a little more punchy at low speed but not wery powefull at high speed. It was same on motocross.
Remember something the honda was a real V4. Try to find disassembled images of it. Is very impressive, if you understand the problem to solve on low engine on 2 stroke engines. The yam and suz used 2+2 on 2 differents crankshaft.
They used 1 gear more than honda and loose some power but the engine is more compact.
Of course they could have made a real V4 , but it is more complex, a different choice.
The V4 4 strokes don't have the low engine problem to solve.
Gardner goes full Mongrel. Brilliant 👍
lo destacable en esta carrera fue Juan Garriga con una carrera-cliente hacer un tercer puesto.
Sí, fue su único podio en la clase de 500cc.
No era oficial?
@@pabloperez4063 of course not.
The reason John Kosinski didn’t do as well at this time is because Kenny Roberts treated him like shit. Never gave him Any input because he was 110% focused on Wayne. It was really terrible as John was fully as talented as anyone on the track including Wayne. Of course John has terrible OCD and it’s imperative for someone who suffers from OCD to have everything Just So and Roberts just didn’t care. Typical Roberts.
Yes, heard that before. Also enjoyed Sheens prediction 'He definitely wont go to Cagiva' !
Banco 🙌®️🇮🇲❤️
Schwantz and Fogarty crashed on Koscinski's oil.
I like Barry and this aussie guy commentating. The guys doin motogp are horsecrap
Yeah, it would be nice if we could revive them from the dead and have them as commentators today.
@@TrickyMario7654 😂
Schwantz with the flag is somehow curious.
ブルーサンダーやんけ( ˘•ω•˘ )b
Garriga que fenómeno👌
No Rainey on the podium...
I heard he was too exhausted to go on the podium after the race.
@@TrickyMario7654 He was in the hospital after the race. In Donington, the riders were stopped at the first corner to get off their bikes and while walking back, some drunk fans fell into his path and knocked him down. They landed right on his injured knee and he wasn't able to get up after that. Luckily, it ended up just being bruised and not a re-injury.
