What a beautiful orchid you have! Just got this exact one myself from a grower and was super excited to see someone else had it! Yours looks stunning, mine is a little shriveled from traveling. As far as an ID, the closest I’ve been able to get is that its a Flexuosum of some kind..
Thanks so much for watching and happy growing! I have since moved this orchid to a wooden slat mount - somewhat controversial, but it’s doing OK. Here is a link to that video: ua-cam.com/video/R3AB1HxjC3o/v-deo.htmlsi=cC96g1gK_n8IWy6U
Thanks for the report video. I haven't seen anyone else using cork bark but it's lightness & air pockets sound like a great idea. I've never seen a garden centre stocking cork but I'll see if I can get it online otherwise.
@@TheOrchidHut I use the full semi hydro where you put two holes in a plastic pot so you can flush at the bottom of the pot ninja orchids use a self watering system but there not much between the two setups tbh
It depends on the Oncidium, but somewhere in the range of 2000-4000 foot candles. It will be difficult to know what this is unless you have an accurate light meter. They are considered a ‘medium light’ orchid - so, more than a Phalaenopsis but less than a Cattleya. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! You could also check pet stores as it is often sold for reptile habitats.
Good job.
Thank you! I worry someday I will have so many orchids that I won't have time to give them all so much attention!
That's already happened to me.lol
Well done👍
Thank you - and thank you for watching, too!
Nice repot I've got this one and I grow mine in smei hydro and it's doing well 👍
I have never tried this growing method...maybe someday when I have time to think about how to go about it. Is it a self watering setup that you use?

Thanks…I have two bulbophyllums that I’m going to transfer over to this method…when I’m caught up on everything else!
That's a good one to mount
Yes, it is!
Where did you purchase the media?

How much light does an Oncidium need?
