Yes, definitely a bigger challenge for mounts with sphagnum moss in a dry climate… I have a small, cool mist humidifier indoors for this same reason. A few of my orchids are cool, but humid growers and they don’t care for the dry air indoors! Thanks so much for watching.
Do you know if there are good or bad types of wood to use for orchid mounts? My daughter-in-law does woodworking and could easily make mounts if I knew what wood is best.
I don’t have a list per se, but you should probably stay away from aromatic woods like cedar, driftwood that might be salty, or any wood that has been treated. This video I made awhile ago goes into more detail: ua-cam.com/video/8unExU73684/v-deo.html Good luck…sometimes it is trial and error. What one orchid likes, another might fail.
Good idea! I have one that is growing up just like yours. Maybe this is what I need to do.
Probably…good luck! Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment.
Nicely done!♥️
Thank you - and thank you so much for watching! 🙏

I would love to do this but I'm in an arid climate. I have a Maxillaria Tenuifolia. Pseutabulb above pseutabulb above pseutabulb.

So,how do you watering it?
It gets misted most mornings, and dunked in a bucket just like my Vanda orchids when it is time for fertilizer.

Nice but cannot really see as camera down, thank you
Valid point - camera angle with tripod often difficult to set on larger projects. Thanks for watching!
Pl. Do quick. U take too much time
😂 This is an educational channel. I like to do my best work. You’ll have to find another orchid grower (who makes videos) if speed is your concern.
