Even though I think Gerold Dayne is Oberyn's son, this was really interesting and I love your theory. If the Gerold thing was true, maybe his mother being high born prevented Oberyn from taking him as he would other sons. Nice job :) .
@@MeeraReads Asgard? Did you mean Ashara? Gerold is too old to be her child because he was of a squireing age when the war happened. I know the story about Ashara is that she allegedly killed herself in part due to grief for a dead Prince, and while that's technically Oberyn's title, he survived the rebellion. The only princes who died in the war were Lewyn and Rhaegar. Personally, I think it's possible Rhaegar could've fathered Ashara's stillborn because he and her bff Elia needed a third child that Elia couldn't have, so they turned to someone they could trust for help. Sort of like how women nowadays might ask their best friend to be an egg donor for them.
@@MeeraReads Also, of a brief aside, there's something off about Gerold. Look at the name- Gerold Dayne. Every Dayne we know have names that begin with vowels (Ashara, Arthur, Edric, Allyria). The only person in the family with an ill-fitting name is him; and he's the only known member of this supposed cadet branch of the family. And each of his names, 'Gerold' and 'Dayne', were two people present at the TOJ. That's really frickin weird. It reads as a cover to me, even if he's not Oberyn's son.
@@ashleyofnaath I LIKE THIS - though I still like the whole theory about the girl being Howland's baby - or at least being raised by Howland and his wife in the neck - his wife who we never see described .... Howland + Ahsera =Meera.
i struggle a bit with the idea that Oberyn is sacrficing his sons, but maybe i just have to think about it a bit more.
Definitely looking forward to fae talk
The Frozen High Sidhe.
Very pumped for the next series!!
Same! Glad to have you here
I never noticed how similar the name "Oberyn" looks to "Qyburn", you literally just have to move the "y" to get "Qburyn", huh
Yeah, that blew my mind the first time I realized lol

Thank you! And yeah, that’s possible. If he’s the son of Oberyn and Ashara, maybe he’s the baby Ashara claimed was a stillborn girl
