    I had forgotten to talk about the furniture! So-I wonder if certain places were inhabited by the FIRST first men BECAUSE weirwood trees did NOT grow there. The Iron Born, for example, HATED weirwoods. That Harlaw Cadet branch that features a black weirwood as their sigil tells me that it was THAT family who actually poisoned the Blackwoods Heart Tree. A heart tree that is now black. When Bran falls, he sees the bodies of greenseers impaled beneath him. THAT fall reads like a fall from the Moon Door/Sky Cells of the Eyrie. That is NOT a coincidence-"Fly or die!" and 'Let them fly!" aren't that far apart in meaning. In the case of the Iron Born I get the feeling their use of weirwood is meant as domination. That is them taking that power away from the trees and using it for themselves in a way perhaps not intended. Harren finishing his castle when aegon invades is NOT a coincidence. Harren single-handedly removed almost EVERY weirwood that was left in the South/Riverlands to build Harrenhall. And he built that bitch of a castle RIGHT on the God's Eye. Not coincidence. Harren was staring down the God's Eye. He wanted them green-guys on the Isle Of Faces to KNOW he was RIGHT there, watching them. I feel like this is where that Crow's Eye stuff comes from. That would be A LOT to type here though. I feel like the Eyrie's location is VERY intentional-they went THAT high to get away from the Trees back when it was started. The Trees and maybe Giants. And they have THAT Throne. That Throne is crazy-it is crazy that it even exists AT the Eyrie. The Eyrie in general is a really crazy place-of all of Westeros, THAT castle is nuts. It is a literal nest. Something crazy was going on to build THAT, for sure. THAT location is a SERIOUS pain in the ass WAY before you get to the actual castle. Overkill in the extreme-they went THAT high to maintain a distance from MORE than just other people. Back when they could fly themselves. And you're right about Whitewalls being destroyed due to it's construction materials. The places that kill weirwoods to make something else are going to be cursed-but it seems only if they are "attached" to the land. A weirwood SHOULD be able to grow at the Eyrie. They die there. Die. There is a fucking weirwood ALIVE inside the wall that seems none worse for the wear. At worst, weirwoods should be stunted at the Eyrie. And even IF weirwoods could grow on the Iron Islands, the Iron Born would NEVER allow it. I feel like Iron Born people and Eyrie people of some kind were the FIRST "people" of Westeros and something happened between all them and the trees etc.

      Their are no weirwood trees in the Eyrie. They tried but the roots were to far from the ground. They brought the 2 weirwood thrones up and gave up on trying to grow there. The house of black and white is weirwood and ebony. And the black river under blood raven's cave zo believe runs all the way to the house of the undying..ask any question I know and 5 books verbatim..

      @filbertrocko O i think I see-i was saying that there is a weirwood tree inside the wall..as in the Black Gate, not in the Eyrie. I really think OG the Eyrie was built SO high to keep weirwoods FROM growing there. The original Winged Knight ruled 1000's of years BEFORE andals invade. Before there are Knights. It was, for him, Winged Night. THAT is why they have the moon in their sigil. The second Winged Knight is an andal and is a knight. The Eyrie wasn't built to keep dragons or birds out-it is practically a floating nest as it is. It is as disconnected from the ground as it possibly can be to prevent the tree watching crap happening up there. It is PERFECT for hiding things and keeping secrets.

    I hope eating the Weirwood Paste is like drinking the Shade of the Evening wine. And Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

    • @MeeraReads
      @MeeraReads  6 місяців тому

      I believe it is! Marwyn is likely chewing on weirwood leaves, which has turned his mouth red, like Euron’s mouth is blue (I think sour leaf may just be Weirwood leaves).
      And a Merry Christmas/holiday season to you too!

      @@MeeraReads Whew-I just don't feel like Bran eats Jojen. The paste is like the wine. Jojen is for the tree root thrones. The trees will eat Jojen-not Bran. A little less horrifying, at least for Bran.

    • @MeeraReads
      @MeeraReads  6 місяців тому +1

      @aprilmae274 yeah, I never really understood where Jojen paste came from. It’s clearly a parallel to shade of the evening, though. Dany and Bran have almost identical experiences. If you’re interested, check out my Winterfell video, it also covers the House of the Undying

      @@MeeraReads I'm going to binge videos all day, lol! Thanks-SO many people seem to think Jojen Paste is a real thing...and I hate to sound like I'm arguing when it isn't even a real argument, no matter who is right. It's all just super interesting, puzzling everything out. I think almost everything is there in pieces, enough that we can puzzle out the rest, mostly. But Weirwood Paste and Shade of the Evening Wine are either side of the same coin to my way of thinking. I imagine Bran would flip out if he finds out he actually ate Jojen. He won't respond positively to that. Meera would lose her efin mind lol-Bran would warg Hodor and rip that place apart. Weirwood School dismissed.

    Can weirwood arrows kill dragons?

    • @MeeraReads
      @MeeraReads  6 місяців тому +3

      Torrhen Stark’s brother presumably thought so, but we don’t have proof one way or the other.
      I buy into the theory that iron/dragon bone can kill the fae and weirwood/fae bone can kill dragons. Dawn, I believe, is such a sword (pale as milkglass)

      It seems like they can-I'm betting that the bolt that Rhaenys down in Dorne was weirwood.

      I think all arrows can kill dragons. If they are big and powerful enough. Dragons have to wear armor to in ice and fire.

    • @aprilmae274
      @aprilmae274 5 місяців тому +1

      Yeah-but weirwood seems to be able to find it's mark better-it's magical like that. And a dragon's only weak spot is it's eye when shooting bolts at one. Pretty sure Visenya helped Dorne out in removing Rhaenys and likely gave them the bolt. Most likely one of the bolts that the Starks were going to use, initially. It is probably why Aegon flies to Dragonstone-to see if the weirwood bolts were gone.
