Skinny jeans aren’t my favorite, but I feel like the sheer fact that they aren’t creating a specific silhouette makes them the most timeless. They just follow the lines of your body, so it’s more about how your body is than the trends.
Except that skinny jeans don't look good on most women. If you have any hips at all, they give a peculiar inverted triangle effect. Even if you have very slim hips, unless you have tiny feet, the skinny at the ankle makes shoes look enormous by contrast. I just saw a video where the woman was showing outfits with skinny jeans, and her perfectly normal shoes looked like Frankenstein feet.
@@edennis8578 wow, i actually fit those 2 standards you gave. It's nice to show the only slimness you have. Can't really do much when you're a short apple with gigantic breast- it's either dumpy frumpy or red light district.
@@barbarablackman3742 I don’t necessarily agree. I love how skinny jeans look on shorter and curvier women as well. It’s not the same effect obviously but I feel like it can accent a petite frame in a way that points out how cute and small they are. Not everyone wants to go for the model skinny mile-long legs thing. My friend in my profile pic is shorter and curvier and she looks way better in skinny jeans than I do due to this.
I loved this video! I refused to wear skinny jeans for so long, because I'm on the heavier side. Finally I gave them a try, now it's all I want to wear! This video made me see why- my legs are my thinnest place, so showing how thin they are makes me look longer! Thank you!
Skinny jeans are my favourite. I have disproportionately smaller (heavier) torso and longer legs. So any flared/wide leg jeans I put on cuts me few cm above my ankle, showing the thinnest section of my legs. It looks really weird. Skinny jeans give the uniformity.
Honestly, I think they actually complement the most body types unlike other jeans. That's why I don't think they're a trend but more of a closet staple now.
My perfect jeans are straight leg with a higher rise or a skinny jean with a higher rise. I'm 5'2" and only wear a kitten heel or a platform of about 2" but that does make all the difference. Great video Chi.
I’m pear-shaped and flared jeans/trousers are my absolute favorite things to wear!! I have very skinny calves too so it hides that part while balancing out my hips/butt with my legs.
Thank you 🙏 your tips make just about every jean work for every.body type! Your pro tips in pairing shoe styles with the jeans and leg shapes makes all the difference- I’m motivated to play around with my wardrobe today to try out new combinations.👖👢
Always great tips, I'm curvy and tried on skinny in store with my husband present he said they look illegal, he's funny. I only wear wide, flare, or straight. I always like watching your videos.
Yeah, spandex in jeans is illegal, so that makes skinny's illegal as well. Really hard to find spandex-free jeans. It kills the fit. Spandex jeans, even as little as 1%, keep growing and growing over time to never return to the original shape. Very annoying.
I was sad in 2008 when flare and bootleg jeans disappeared in favour for skinny. I’m so happy that skinny is out now and flare is back :) . I don’t mind mom jeans but I find them a bit boring unless they are distressed. Boyfriend and wide leg just don’t appeal to me. I like to wear my tops a bit baggier so if my pants are also baggy I end up having no shape. I love showing off my legs lol which is probably why flare/bootleg is my favourite. Skinny jeans also show them off but not in a flattering way imo. They make feet look huge lol and tall boots can fix that but those are out of fashion at the moment (they look dated to the 2010s)
I just found your channel and updated my wardrobe using your advice for apple shapes. Thank you so much! I feel like a new person. I'm so much happier with what I see in the mirror.
Im really uncomftorble with my hips, many people wish for an hourglass bod shape, but its honestly not worth the hype, i can never find jeans that fit on my waist but dont squeeze my hips!
I think this is the first time I learn of the apple shape which is exactly my body type, and I am also short. Sometimes I get lost on what jeans to buy because of all the styles and trends. This really helps. Now I have a better idea what styles will fit me. Thanks a lot for this video!
I watched your entire video and I am happy to find out that I have been wearing the correct jeans for 44 years. When I was a teen I wore the boyfriend cut jeans for good reasons but no one understood why. I love wearing the subtle flared, bootcut, and straight most of the time. Occasionally slim and skinny because the jeans were a bargain and they fit perfectly. I know I should give up wearing the skinny eventually and I only been wearing them for two years because they are new to me, lol. 😆 I am a petite, inverted triangle with a slim build. I am an older woman and I love wearing jeans. Jeans are practical and they fit perfectly to my lifestyle. Thanks for the wonderful, informative video!
I finally went jeans-shopping (after many many years of refusing to wear jeans) after watching your video. I have thick thighs, short legs and an hourglass-shaped body that is not tall at all, which I thought were horrible for jeans. Especially when the low-rose skinny jeans were in style I was devastated at how awful they made me look (and feel). Now that mid to high-rise is back, I opted for that style with flared jeans and heels. Just as it’s prescribed here in this video. I think I look pretty decent 😅 Thank you for your tips!
I feel your pain! I am hourglass, five foot nothing, short thick thighs, small waist but 32gg bust! I have to wear bootcut/slight flare mid blue jeans with a dark top to balance me 😏
I own skinny jeans , lately being pear shaped I think I might give them to the thrift store .I often get the gab in the back due to a sway back . Flares with sneakers I agree ,wide legs make me look stumpy . Bootcut and straight are my fave . Mom no way , Boyfriend yes xxx
I’m pretty sure I have a pear body shape and it makes sense that my favorite type of jeans are wide leg jeans. I’m only 5’1” and adding heels gives the illusion of longer legs. I also use platform sneakers too to add height.
Hi Chi, Can you make some jeans recommendations for people who cannot wear heals anymore? Especially for hourglass and pear shapes. Thank you. I think your videos are great.
I don't wear heels but I can wear some higher wedge heel shoes. Just bought 2 pairs of these on Amazon and they are unbelivably comfy on my wider feet. They run large. Womens Backless Chunky Mules Shoes Slip On Pointed Toe Stacked Heel Western Boots - they look great with my boot cut jeans!
my favorite jeans of ALL time are the Levis 724 cropped. i am 5'4, 115 lbs and skinny, hourglass with big hips and a long torso. they fall PERFECTLY at my ankle. they have an extremely square cut at the hips and waist, and i love it because it de-emphazises my curves/hips while still being a flattering high rise on my waist and butt. they do not gap on the back of my thighs, and the straight ish cut creates clean lines around the calf that make them feel like chinos or dressier pants. they are stretchy enough to be comfortable but stiff enough to be durable and still feel like actual jeans. if you are on the skinny side and want jeans that can be dressed up or down, and de-emphasize your curves while not making you look like a board, i would definitely try them out. i personally like to emulate an inverted triangle shape, because i lean more towards androgyny, but the 724s definitely can look feminine if you want them to, it all depends on your body and style. i just wanted a pair of jeans that helped me look taller and less curvy while not 'hiding' my butt or waist, and the 724s hit the spot.
i'm a pear but i do find a mom jean to actually be very lengthening and slimming on me, as long as i pair with a slim shoe like a pointed or almond toe flat or heel shoe/boot.
👍🏻 Great guide to follow! If they look good on you go on n wear em.. I’m a guy and was a former Abercrombie model in my early 20’s (ended up working as a manager in various states in my late 20’s/early 30’s). I was modeling baggy boot cut jeans and then years later when I was an employee and worked in stores I was straight in the skinny and super skinny jeans phase. I was all about this because the skinny jeans flatter my body the best..I’m one of those skinny lanky athlete types and was a basketball player from age 6 to 23. First step is to Wear what you think looks best on your body & look to this style guide here for your best look!..then go and buy multiple pairs of jeans!
I'm pear shape, and I don't love skinny jeans. My favorite are flare jeans and boot cut jeans. Thankyou for your videos very interesting, and you are so lovely❤️ Ciao from Sardegna! 😘😘😘
As a short wide hipped girl with a very physical job- I love me some high-waist bootcut mom jeans. People give me such hell for them- but they really balance me out and keep me comfy.
I'm a petite pear shape with a short torso/rise and longish legs for my height (5'1" / 29" inseam). I prefer dark wash skinny jeans with an untucked top that hits at the high hip, because it elongates my torso and makes me look more balanced. Wider leg jeans, baggy jeans, or high rise jeans all just serve to make my lower half -- which is already so much bigger than my top half -- look even wider and bigger in comparison to my narrow shoulders and short, smaller upper half. I also find that boot cut or straight leg jeans, which we all wore like crazy in the 90s, are so hard to wear in winter because inevitably they drag on the ground, gaining salt and snow stains and getting soaked such that the hem gets ruined after less than a season. Skinnies are much easier to just tuck inside a pair of boots, which is much more practical year-round.
forgot to mention that I don't have a dragon issue; I purchase my jeans from AE or Hollister where they carry short inseams. I typically wear a short inseam in their wide legs and regular in their mom jeans
For me, a pear shaped girl of height 5ft 5 inch, an off shoulder top tucked in with wide legged jeans look THE BEST otherwise, wide legged jeans just make bottom half look bulkier than my narrow shoulders🤷♀️
I’m pretty short (5 3-5 4) and have an hourglass (kinda) body shape. Baggy/ wide-leg pants have been my go-to look for- pfft- almost forever now! This video was x-tremely educating in a way! ❤️
I've always found the rolling the hems of your skinny jeans has the same effect as covering them with your shoes. It's breaks up that long vertical like with a small horizontal one.
Firstly I want to thank you because after trying so long to find my shape, I finally could with this video! I was torn between the inverted triangle and hourglass because even though I'm very balanced between my shoulders and hips, my shoulders are still sightly (like 2 cm, if i'm specific?) longer. The trouble of either waist or hips when it comes to finding the right jeans definitely sold me. And also, for the alternative recommendations! Everyone (specially my family) has always tried to make me wear tight things (mostly skinny jeans) because 'you have such a nice waist to hip ratio', but it just makes me extremely uncomfortable. Thank you so so much for the help!!
i’m the same. but my shoulders are wide. but also it’s not like i have no hips. my measurements on a good day give me hourglass numbers (bust to waist to hip) but my shoulders are broad. i’m not a traditional triangle shape is all i’m saying. i have legs for days lol
Im also torn between hourglass and pear because I'm very proportionate but have a big derriere so some wold say im a bottom-heavy hourglass. Maybe you're a top-heavy hourglass like Monroe!
Omggg literally same ! I'm also a mix between ani inverted triangle and an hourglass, and all my life i used to wear skinny jeans because i was told so. That im too petite to be wearing anything else but Man, i really hate them. I feel like because they are so fitted at the bottom, they make my legs and hips look even smaller. Literally i have been shopping today, tried 14 pairs od different jeans, and felt the best in really light mom jeans. I just live them so much, this is literally my first pair of pants that arent skinny. Im so excited !!!
@@aleksandrawojnowska5054 It's exactly the same for me, I wear mom jeans and straight leg pants (not exactly jeans) but they flow so much better and make my waist small! I recommend checking out the elegant long pants in reserved, I wear them with flat white laced shoes (like adidas or Gino Rossi) and I'm not going back to skinny jeans and small hips
Hi Chi Li great video again 👍👍 Altough I am not petite I learned a lot about the different jeans styles and who it fits best and what shoes to wear with them 💥💯Greetings from Belgium, Europe.
Although I can find them online, wide leg jeans (and really, anything other than skinny jeans) are impossible to locate where I live. I find online shopping to be a great alternative for that situation for most things, but jeans ... it seems so necessary to try a variety of brands and sizes to find a pair that fits since measurements (beyond inseam) aren't generally included on the web page. Although returns are easy, it still takes time -- lots of time (especially these days). Can you put together a video about the fit characteristics of different brands? That's a big ask, I'm sure, but I can't help but think I'm not the only one who would find it SO helpful!
I started buying men’s jeans since the sizing is consistent, they are similar to high or mid waist, and the fit is usually like straight leg 👌 for reference I’m pear shape, long waist/shorter legs/ thick hips/thigh.
I have the same problem (I'm a pear shape so I don't generally trust that the hip and waist will both fit), but I've found more success buying on Poshmark. The items are used, but you can look for "new with tags" or things in excellent condition. I found it helpful, because I can ask for more specific measurements, including hip, waist, and rise and the sellers will measure for me so I can make a more informed decision and I'm much less likely to buy jeans that don't fit right.
@@babymac1379 have you had *regular* good luck with poshmark tho? I tried using specific measurements on both thred up and the real real, and they were both always wrong and I had to send pretty much everything back 😭
@@phaneron I have actually! I have done a little shopping on thredup, but found that their measurements weren't detailed enough for me so I don't do much shopping on there anymore. I actually just bought shorts off poshmark (a first time online purchase for me because I always felt I wouldn't be able to successfully get a pair that would fit both my waist and hip) and they are currently my best fitting shorts and I am super happy about that purchase. I do think some care needs to be taken though. If I don't see all the measurements I want to know, then I'll message the shop owner and ask them to provide more. I also like it even better when they post pictures showing the measuring tape on the garment so I can see more clearly where they took the measurements. If the seller isn't willing to help and provide that information, I don't buy the item; luckily, there's no shortage of jean shorts (or whatever I'm looking for) and I try to take my time and not rush too much.
I am an hourglass, which is a big problem when it comes to jeans. I wear bootcut or wider legged jeans. They’re flattering because my shoes are chunkier in style. The other reason I quit wearing skinny jeans is because I suffer from chronic pain due to osteoarthritis & I don’t want tight-fitting clothes. I wear clothes that skim my body & don’t require belts. I need high waisted pants.
I dont really like skinny jeans, but since i lost weight and have tons of loose skin, skinny jeans helps to keep everything compressed. Makes me also feel skinnier ofcourse.
say hello from Germany. since yesterday i'm a follower of your youtube channel. I'm so inspired and impressed from you. you are so honest, humble and straightforward in a positive way. I enjoy your video and learn a lot. Thank you for sharing your experience and experiment. :)
She is styling jeans straight leggers today Figuring out what to wear with those jeans She will style the others on other days too Enjoying all of the jeans without any panties For a total feel of soft denim from hips on down
I clicked on this video randomly and you're so right about Madewell and American Eagle being the most accommodating for hourglass shape. I'm 5 foot 6 inches and hourglass and the gapping in the back is the most disappointing part of trying on jeans. My waist is considerably smaller than my lower half even though I'm only a size 4 normally. A size 6 is too big for my waist but fits my butt perfectly and it's just so annoying. Especially if the jeans have no stretch in them. My mom is pear-shaped and she hasn't worn non-stretchy denim in forever because of this. She carries her weight in her hips, butt, and thighs no matter her weight. I didn't wear American Eagle until a couple of years ago and they also have different leg lengths which is so great! My legs are maybe 3-4 inches longer than "regular" jeans, but they have "tall" and "short" as well in the same styles. It makes such a huge difference for so many body types. I think height is often forgotten in girl's and women's clothing, so we then have to wear specific shoes because pants are either way too long or too short.
Hi Chi! Question not about jeans, but could you make a video on hats for petites and petite heads, especially for the beach/pool? Hats don’t seem to look good on me and I just end up with a visor or nothing for my head. What size/style looks great but doesn’t overwhelm us? Thanks!
Great video!❤️ Hourglass here. All I've ever loved and wear till this day are High Waist Skinny jeans. Since forever I loathed Wide leg because I've always had a small waist and big hips and thought they would make me look wider but then I bought a pair of Gap High Waist medium wash denim and I am now a Fan!! I also recently bought a pair of high waist straight leg jeans from Fashion Nova and OMGoodness!! They make your Bum look incredible! I'm not sure who makes their jeans but straight leg jeans make you look more proportional in a way. My biggest issue as hourglass is OVERALLS because the way overalls are made now are very form fitting sexy looking on hourglass and I hate this for overalls. I bought some decent ones from Gap but they aren't baggy enough. I want the farmer look.
I have big thighs and a big butt so skinny jeans make me look too fat! I like the flare jeans. Wide leg makes my legs look stumpy. I am short waisted in the front but a long crotch length in the back. The low rise gives me the plumbers butt! I don’t have a flat belly so I have to have jeans that don’t require your top to be tucked in.
Skinny jeans, skinny straight jeans and boot cut are my go to styles. Wide leg jeans just make me look wider than I am and boyfriend makes me wide and short
I like skinny jeans & jeans that fit me. I’m 5’1, apple, with a vanishing waist and hopefully, vanishing tummy. Don’t care for mom jeans, boot cut or flare leg. My legs are thin for my body. I want to look taller and more proportioned. I want my top half to look smaller! (42 there). 😁
Gosh I wish that skinny jeans were the hottest trend again (like between the late 2000s to the mid 2010s). I remember how flattering I looked in my young adult days with a dark wash skinny jean and a pair of black leather boots over it. Nowadays with mom jeans back in style I feel like I’m old for still wearing skinny jeans.
I feel so frumpy in straight leg jeans - they look terrible if you have no hips, as they are just shapeless. I have a pair of slim, straight legs, but they too don't look good - it's fine for a pair of dress pants, but not for jeans! I look so much better in skinnies.I have long legs, but no shape in my waist, hips or thighs so skinnies give me some shape.
I have a similar problem with a skinny, rectangle body type with longer legs. I feel the best in jeans that are slim fit but not too tight, and not too short either. I feel skinny jeans & jeggings are not flattering on me because they make my legs look shorter and skinnier. If I do find a good fitting skinny jean, I am careful how I coordinate my outfit to create the illusion of curves and length.
I must disagree about the balloon jeans, I think they look great on my hourglass body. The trick is to tuck in the shirt all the way round and accentuate the waist with a belt. They look good with simple, sneaker-type shoes, with other styles of shoes it can be more difficult to find a good match.
I’ve always worn skinny jeans, I love them. If I find the right ones that is. I have very thicc calf’s and so depending on the material, my legs look weird cuz it’ll bunch up and exaggerate em. Makin them look stubby(I’m short). So I try to stick to highwaisted jeggins as they slim me down both tummy and legs.
I’m currently 17 and I’m wearing a D32 Bra which makes my upper body look “bigger” than my lower half-that’s why I always wear wide leg or straight leg jeans and avoid wearing skinny jeans and skirts & dresses that looks “straight” and is very fitting at the bottom…
You are awesome! Thx so much for your videos. I'm not skinny like you, but I am short. I love your videos about jeans and the one that you give hints on how to cover a tummy- peplum shirts were one of the recommendations. Thx a bunch!!!!
I’m very tall and very pear shaped with a Iong torso. (Unfortunately I’m tall but don’t have long legs!) I look ridiculous in pencil skinny jeans or ankle jeans. I like high rise and flare legs the best. I can get by with Wide legs, boot cut, straight leg and mid rise too, but they’re not ideal.
I have a pear shape and the most enraging problem is: all pairs of jeans I had so far constantly fell down and I had to pull them up. Hight rise didn't help me at this point because the size which allowed me to fit my tights was big for my waist, if it was good for my waist they were unwearable for my tights. That was until I tried loose fit with one size smaller than the one I usually buy. And they fit me perfectly (not all the models but I was able too choose). The only sad point left here is that I like skinny jeans especially with boots. :( And I've never found any pair of them with an elastic at the back. Yeah, regular and boot cut look great on this type of figure but they too fall down.T_T
i am pear shaped but i own lots of skinny jeans because other types of jeans never fit in my waist. Fixing my pants to fix my waist have been norm for me.
I'm 5'2 and a pear shape. I've always preferred bootcut jeans, and now I know that's the perfect choice. Skinny jeans just don't work on me, so I've had so much trouble finding jeans that look good on me for a long time now. Every shop just stocks skinny, extra skinny, super skinny, but when I try them on I just bulge in all the wrong places and they bunch up at the knees as well. I still haven't solved the problem of jeans that fit both my hips and waist though.
I'm an apple shape, though I have narrow hips, and a tummy. I'm most proud of my legs so I love skinny jeans. I had ovarian cancer, I'm clear, but I've got a big scar on my stomach so I prefer jeggings, as the button digs into my stomach and I've got a low waist as well
I don't like skinny jeans because I have thick ankles and I have straight legs (my legs don't taper-I have no significant difference between my thighs, calfs and ankles).
I'm 5'3 with hourglass body, I like straight cut jeans, flare, Mom's jeans and skinny Jeans I like to wear skinny Jeans with boots usually ankle boots I don't like wearing jeans on summer so on fall and winter boots is perfect.
Thanks for the information on the best jeans for each body shape. Since I listen to your videos while I’m putting on makeup snd getting ready, I often miss your transition slides - I only hear silence so I don’t know what the subject has changed to. I would appreciate you speaking what is written on the slide so I can still follow you while listening. Other than that, I enjoy your information and your sense of humor. Thank you!
next time can you adress the rectangle body shape as you literally didn't in this video? i have a rectangle body shape and it would be nice to know what type of jeans I should wear
I love straight leg/mom jeans on me. I notice that mid rise jeans look best on me for some reason lol I'm a plus size hourglass I assume lol whenever I wear jeans I have a gap at my waist. I have to use like string to tie it in the back lol
I'm the pretty controversial one LOL I'm a skinny petite hourglass, so my BWH ratio elongates up into my shoulders. I have a long torso, 34-35 inch hips to my 24 inch waist, and I'm only 159cm. By all accounts, low rise skinny jeans should be the thing I avoid. Except... The look I'm going for is definitely the shock value of my sexiness. I go full 2000s with the tiny midriff showing tight baby crops and the low rise skinnies. It's absolutely a call towards overt sexiness which is why I love it. And I think this is where dressing for your body is also about confidence as much as it is about tips. As you said, even pears and hourglasses can wear jeans "inappropriate" if you're deliberately trying to call attention to your figure, but many tips you give are for when you want to tone it down for more flattering and chic styles. Both require a lot of self love, confidence and enjoyment of fashion itself :) These videos are great tips for when I have to be appropriate instead of shocking!
I have a couple of boyfriend jeans and I HATE them. I am 5'5 and VERY pear shaped - big butt, wide hips, and a smaller waist, lol. The boyfriend jeans never fully come up on my body and make me look shrunk or frumpy. I love wide leg or boot cut jeans, but often find them to be too long.
My body type is a combination of apple and hourglass because I still have a relatively noticeable hourglass but I also have a bit of a tummy. I also have huge thunder thighs. I have noticed that flares really balance out my shape and make me look more even.
I have narrow hips and my waist is not a whole lot smaller so best jeans for me are boys jeans. They sit on my hips and don't bulge out at the hips but drop straight down (and they are cheaper because they are for boys!)
So, thin with big feet. Skinny jeans are hard to fit my feet through. Plus, they make my feet look longer. Straight and flares cover up some of my feet, plus I can get my feet through them easily. I am a rectangle, 5'5" and size 0. Size 9 feet!
I never really paid attention to the style of jeans I buy. I just buy them all lol But out of 27 pairs, about 15 are skinnies and six I wear the most are. I'm an hourglass shape and my legs are a major asset so that's probably why I am drawn to them
0:19 No, Actually sometimes I like skinny jeans but most of the time I like baggy jeans, I'm Tomboy and I'm more comfortable with baggy jeans so I wear them most but when I want to be like pretty, girly I wear skinny jeans🙃lol
I have eight-shaped body, i prefer skinny, slim, straight, mom. Pretty anything fits but middle or high rise. I don't wear heels a lot, and definitely don't pair them with jeans, and i don't like how bulkier wide jeans and boyfriends look on me. As for skinny - I prefer them extra high-rise, with kind of a corset at the waist, and would rather pair them with something voluminous for the top, like a wide shirt tuck inside the high waist.
Hi Chi! Can you tell us what are the new dad jeans and also make a video on slouchy jeans for petite girls ? I really like that trend and would love to wear it with heels or booties but I don't know much about it - what body types it suits ? Does it not suit petite or it can? Thanks 🤘🏼💗
No one makes classic straight legs , when you slim with strong legs jeans are sheer hel. Wide legs are over wide , bootlegs for taller people are short and unflattering , want to go to Lot 1 and make them make it 🥰 perfect
Skinny jeans aren’t my favorite, but I feel like the sheer fact that they aren’t creating a specific silhouette makes them the most timeless. They just follow the lines of your body, so it’s more about how your body is than the trends.
Also the only type of jeans that were replicated in a much more comfortable form of jeggings. Bless them.
Except that skinny jeans don't look good on most women. If you have any hips at all, they give a peculiar inverted triangle effect. Yeah, spandex in jeans is illegal, so that makes skinny's illegal as well. Really hard to find spandex-free jeans. It kills the fit. Spandex jeans, even as little as 1%, keep growing and growing over time to never return to the original shape. Very annoying.
You do a good thorough job of explaining jean fits.
This is so helpful and well made, straight to the point no unnecessary talk. Thank you.

You are so welcome! Thanks for sharing, Sophia!
You are always welcome! Glad this video was helpful ❤️
Hi Chi,
Can you make some jeans recommendations for people who cannot wear heals anymore? Especially for hourglass and pear shapes. Thank you. I think your videos are great.
Yes, I don’t wear heels either. Even if I do, never for longer than a couple fo hours. As an all day wearing is a no no
I don't wear heels but I can wear some higher wedge heel shoes. Just bought 2 pairs of these on Amazon and they are unbelivably comfy on my wider feet. They run large. Womens Backless Chunky Mules Shoes Slip On Pointed Toe Stacked Heel Western Boots - they look great with my boot cut jeans!
Maybe platform sneakers would work if that's your style?
@@itzolive3738 Good idea!
Chi.. pls elaborate on the differences between flare, bootcut, wide legged jeans
my favorite jeans of ALL time are the Levis 724 cropped. i am 5'4, 115 lbs and skinny, hourglass with big hips and a long torso. they fall PERFECTLY at my ankle. they have an extremely square cut at the hips and waist, and i love it because it de-emphazises my curves/hips while still being a flattering high rise on my waist and butt. they do not gap on the back of my thighs, and the straight ish cut creates clean lines around the calf that make them feel like chinos or dressier pants. they are stretchy enough to be comfortable but stiff enough to be durable and still feel like actual jeans.
if you are on the skinny side and want jeans that can be dressed up or down, and de-emphasize your curves while not making you look like a board, i would definitely try them out.
i personally like to emulate an inverted triangle shape, because i lean more towards androgyny, but the 724s definitely can look feminine if you want them to, it all depends on your body and style. i just wanted a pair of jeans that helped me look taller and less curvy while not 'hiding' my butt or waist, and the 724s hit the spot.
Thanks for sharing this! Please check out my blog for jeans that helped look taller and less curvy.

i'm a pear but i do find a mom jean to actually be very lengthening and slimming on me, as long as i pair with a slim shoe like a pointed or almond toe flat or heel shoe/boot.
Hi Sundal, I have a mom jeans outfit ideas for any figure 2022 that I think you would love!
Thankyou for your videos very interesting, and you are so lovely❤️
Ciao from Sardegna!

Glad you like them!

I feel like bootcut looks best on everyone!
Thanks for sharing, Petite Poire!
I have the same figure as well as well! 5 feet with a 28 inch inseam.
forgot to mention that I don't have a dragon issue; I purchase my jeans from AE or Hollister where they carry short inseams.
Yeeey! Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, Vel! I really appreciate you taking the time to express that. ❤️
i’m the same. but my shoulders are wide. but also it’s not like i have no hips. my measurements on a good day give me hourglass numbers (bust to waist to hip) but my shoulders are broad. i’m not a traditional triangle shape is all i’m saying. i have legs for days lol
OMG the pear shape (if it fits my waist it doesn’t fit my hips/thighs and vice versa) is so frustrating when I’m trying to buy jeans or pants!!!
Same as me
I am an hourglass, which is a big problem when it comes to jeans.
I dont think skinny jeans always means tight
I dont really like skinny jeans, but since i lost weight and have tons of loose skin, skinny jeans helps to keep everything compressed. Makes me also feel skinnier ofcourse.
Can you pls give me more advice about rectangle shape as it was less addressed in the video.?
yesss i was about to comment this. wth am I supposed to wear? we exist too!
say hello from Germany.
since yesterday i'm a follower of your youtube channel. I'm so inspired and impressed from you. you are so honest, humble and straightforward in a positive way. I enjoy your video and learn a lot. Thank you for sharing your experience and experiment. :)
Thank you, Eunkyung! I am happy to hear you feel that way ❤️
She is styling jeans straight leggers today
Figuring out what to wear with those jeans
She will style the others on other days too
Enjoying all of the jeans without any panties
For a total feel of soft denim from hips on down
I clicked on this video randomly and you're so right about Madewell and American Eagle being the most accommodating for hourglass shape.
Thanks!
Good to know I been dressing right all along. I'm a skinny tall apple 😀 Thank you for this video. New sub
I'm glad to hear that, Sindi! ❤️
Thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to express that. I hope this video helped you ❤️❤️
I have big thighs and a big butt so skinny jeans make me look too fat! I like the flare jeans. Wide leg makes my legs look stumpy. I am short waisted in the front but a long crotch length in the back. The low rise gives me the plumbers butt! I don’t have a flat belly so I have to have jeans that don’t require your top to be tucked in.
Please don't forget the CC!
OMG Duc Phuc , i like your cover version. Love it !
Thank you Chi 🙂 I have problems with finding wonderful fitting jeans, so I own only 1 pair 🙂
You are so welcome!
Me too ^^
i have an hourglass shape with a bit of chub/muffin top on my stomach and i personally love low waisted flair jeans. obsessed
Skinny jeans, skinny straight jeans and boot cut are my go to styles. Wide leg jeans just make me look wider than I am and boyfriend makes me wide and short
Nghe xong bài này cái thấy tâm trạng buồn và nặng nề kinh khủng. Nhưng lại cứ phải replay hoài cả ngày😍
(42 there). 😁
The only jeans I found that suit me are Jennifer Lopez and Amanda’s. I also want smooth denim and totally flattering!
Nah man don’t worry there’s still plenty of skinny jeans. As long as it makes you feel good, go for the fit! Wear what you wanna wear
I have a How to style mom jeans outfit ideas for 2022 that I think you would love!
@@GoTheExtraStyle thanks!
Thanks for sharing, Fiona!
Thanks for the tips!
I just notice that my body shape is Rectangle and ty for knowing us!!
You're very much welcome! ❤️
Hi, Inzomniac! lThanks for sharing!! 😊
Thanks for sharing!
Love finding your Channel yesterday!!!! You as good as the genius Tim Gunn! Thank you for the great advices and tips! Big hug ♡
You are so welcome, Susana! Glad you like them!
I have a pear shaped body but tbh I love all kinds of jeans
You do you! ❤️
You are awesome! Thx so much for your videos. I'm not skinny like you, but I am short. I love your videos about jeans and the one that you give hints on how to cover a tummy- peplum shirts were one of the recommendations. Thx a bunch!!!!
Thank you, I am happy to hear you feel that way ❤️
Hi Chi! Love your videos. Could you do a video about brand recommendation for petite and shirt legs? Thank you!
I’m very tall and very pear shaped with a Iong torso. (Unfortunately I’m tall but don’t have long legs!) I look ridiculous in pencil skinny jeans or ankle jeans. I like high rise and flare legs the best. I can get by with Wide legs, boot cut, straight leg and mid rise too, but they’re not ideal.
i love how you present :)
Thank you for sharing this, Anastasiia!
i am pear shaped but i own lots of skinny jeans because other types of jeans never fit in my waist.
I'm 5'3 with hourglass body, I like straight cut jeans, flare, Mom's jeans and skinny Jeans
I like to wear skinny Jeans with boots usually ankle boots I don't like wearing jeans on summer so on fall and winter boots is perfect.
Thank you!
I love bootcut. They make you look curvy.
next time can you adress the rectangle body shape as you literally didn't in this video? i have a rectangle body shape and it would be nice to know what type of jeans I should wear
I love those light beige boots you wore with the boot cut jeans! Can I ask where they’re from? 💕
What about rectangle shape?
I love straight leg/mom jeans on me. I notice that mid rise jeans look best on me for some reason lol I'm a plus size hourglass I assume lol whenever I wear jeans I have a gap at my waist. I have to use like string to tie it in the back lol
Thank you! I am a tall apple mixed with hourglass and your tips help me, too !
Happy to help!
Both require a lot of self love, confidence and enjoyment of fashion itself :)
These videos are great tips for when I have to be appropriate instead of shocking!
Me too! They make me look more curvy too
Finally, hour glass problem addressed!
You have the most wonderful personality.
I have narrow hips and my waist is not a whole lot smaller so best jeans for me are boys jeans. They sit on my hips and don't bulge out at the hips but drop straight down (and they are cheaper because they are for boys!)
Great advice whether or not one is petite.
I am a pear bodyshape and I love skinny and flared jeans
All I wear is boot cut jeans. I also mostly only wear cowboy boots and flats
I'm an hourglass shape and my legs are a major asset so that's probably why I am drawn to them
I just love you you are my favorite petite advisor!! Best to your new adventure🥰👍👍👍
Wow, thank you Terry!
I have big belly. Big thigh and butt as well as my shoulder are board. Not to mention l'm short too.
I just found out about tapered jeans and they all fit my body perfect!!! ❤
Wow! That's great! ☺️
0:19 No, Actually sometimes I like skinny jeans but most of the time I like baggy jeans, I'm Tomboy and I'm more comfortable with baggy jeans so I wear them most but when I want to be like pretty, girly I wear skinny jeans🙃lol
I have the skinniest body type on the chart but wide jeans don’t look that good on me but I wear it anyways since it’s comfortable lol
Im a apple shape and addicted to skinny jeans. Look good on me😊
I have eight-shaped body, i prefer skinny, slim, straight, mom.
Thanks for sharing, Anna!
Thanks for a great video, my fellow Jersey girl :) where’s that beautiful grey cardigan from?
Hi Chi! Can you tell us what are the new dad jeans and also make a video on slouchy jeans for petite girls ? I really like that trend and would love to wear it with heels or booties but I don't know much about it - what body types it suits ? Does it not suit petite or it can? Thanks 🤘🏼💗
i do love a bootcut that isn't in reality a flare/bellbottom
No one makes classic straight legs , when you slim with strong legs jeans are sheer hel. Wide legs are over wide , bootlegs for taller people are short and unflattering , want to go to Lot 1 and make them make it 🥰 perfect
Great video, I love your style! I’ll be keeping these tips in mind next time I go shopping! 😍😊
good tips. glad you demonstrated everything
