Hourglass : Yes I keep pulling down my underwear at the back throughout the day. I didn't realise it was an issue with the underwear. I thought other women were just comfortable with the underwear riding up like that and I wasn't. 🤷♀️
Same. I am happy I discovered panties that cover more butt on the sides 10 years ago (now I know they are called hipsters), but sadly it's still hard to find a cute two piece swimsuit that fits my bum. Once I find a cute one, I have to be torn between wanting a cute swimsuit and knowing I'll have to constantly fix my butt, or giving up on the cute one to find one that is more comfortable... And sometimes more expensive...
The FIRST time I have EVER seen a video pointing this out! As Women we always think we just need to lose a few more pounds and then that particular panty will look the way it should! Great points, which are also what should be considered when buying jeans or pants. Well done!
I found the perfect kind a few years ago and never bought another kind (sewn some though). Let's just forget the word granny panties and call it vintage, as the rest of the fashion world does. Nothing wrong with a bit more fabric around the behind, look how much the guys wear! There is a reason every girl I know buys mens boxers as sleep shorts. Also cotton wins the material wars, the invisible stuff is so weirdly floppy and plasticky and if I want lace I get a pretty bra or undershirt.
Great point about how much fabric men’s underwear consists of without being called Grandpa shorts 😂 I love the culprit ladyboxers, they are exactly what the name suggests
I agree with all of this! If I don’t want VPL, I go with my skin tone boy shorts which are my perfect cut as a plus sized apple with an ample backside. But honestly, everyone can rock classic brief cut and if it’s being attractive to others you’re concerned about… many men and women I’ve asked actually think being “comfy cute” is the sexiest look of all. The… girl next door look if you will.
@@Chaotic_Pixie Not me! Granny panties look just like the name implies on me. And because I'm very short hipped, they come up over my navel. When I did wear them, I always had to fold them down for both comfort and so they didn't stick up above my jeans... OR skirt. Nothing made me feel frumpier or more uncomfortable than a full brief.
Love my "vintage" panties. They stay put. I'm an apple shape. High cut legs end up in my crack. I hate that. Low rise fall off...hate that. VPL... I don't care. I'm comfortable. Panties show above the front waistband, either push them down, pull a shirt over, or wear high waisted britches. As for lingerie, never met a man who like the underwear on, more than off.
Exactly. Unfortunately, when some items are considered “out of style” at some point it is super hard to find them in stores or within budget, so we get stuck with, say, skinny jeans or long jackets or what not and getting dressed becomes a chore 😭
You have a great sense of humor! I had no idea that I have been wearing the wrong underwear my whole life - just assumed that underwear was uncomfortable and that there was nothing to be done about it! I will be trying your suggestions.
Curvy hour glass here. I struggled for years wearing bikini cuts but worked out over time that fuller briefs just worked better. However, I felt sad because I thought that if I was slimmer, bikini cuts would work. After watching your video this afternoon, I now don't feel embarrassed about needing to wear fuller underwear... and thanks for the tips about lace! You actually have significantly changed my life. Thankyou ❤️
Same here, I prefer French cut because I feel like picking at the bottoms when ever I wear the fuller briefs. Never, ever will I buy butt floss. I'd be picking at my butt all day and I have a flat butt.
I have a booty as well as a muffin top, and I absolutely love something called "ladyboxers" (Culprit makes some great lightweight ones). They are basically boxer briefs for curvy bodies. Great for my long rise, plenty of coverage in the back, and no VPL because the "legs" of the underwear end below the seat of my jeans. I especially love to wear them with shorter dresses because I don't have to worry about flashing my "kit and caboodle" to the whole world by accident. 😂
I have the typical hourglass measurements, 34-24-34, I'm quite petite, I don't have boobs or bum 😂 but I'm curvy, a small waist and big hips, so finding bottoms and of course knickers can be so annoying. I definitely agree with you, from a young age I have always favoured big knickers, I try to get 'pretty' ones or ones that don't give a vpl, I also find the odd style which is a cross between a Brazilian and a full brief which are perfect. But nothing beats a pair of big knickers 😊
i used to wear hipsters as an hourglass but I found thongs to be more comfortable because they don't ride up. And i just pull them a bit higher so they are a bit high rise. I almost never have to pull up my underwear that way and it also makes me feel a bit sexy and daring (cuz i never am usually lolll)
I followed this advice and went shopping for a couple high legged cut panties, tried them on for a couple of days and went running back to the store to get some more. It’s being a game changer. I am glad to say that I will be cutting my allegiance from all the boyshorts and cheekys and other mess that I have buying all these years
Me too - I'm a short pear with frequent weight fluctuations due to health issues, and high leg cut briefs are THE best undies I've found yet. Thanks so much for the tip!
I’m an hourglass and the ONLY underwear that is comfortable for me is high rise thongs. No matter WHAT underwear I wear it will creep into my crack, so I figure i might as well just have less fabric to get stuck in there. I pick my seat the least when I wear a thong. 💁♀️
This is EXACTLY how I am and people don’t understand! I’m also an hour glass and can’t wear anything but a thong (usually high rise) cause it’s more comfortable than other styles when it does get stuck up there 😅
Omg SAME!!! Pear shape here🙋♀️ and I decided way back in high school I would rather have a tiny little strip of fabric up there than the entirety of my underwear 😂
Yup, same, when I tell my friends that I only wear thongs they get all surprised and say “how in the world can you wear them, they’re so uncomfortable” trust me, if you have a huge butt, the underwear are gonna get in there no matter what so you might as well have the least amount of fabric in there
@@Mediocre_at__best_lil Same for me here! Its the first time I see someone thinking the exact same thing about underwear😭 Idk why they find it uncomfortable, for me anything thats not a thong is uncomfortable, and I hate underwear showing under jeans!
For hourglass & pear: Hipsters, boyshorts and the like don't work at all, as they don't cover the lower part of the bum. They creep up because there's too much fabric at the wrong place (the sides) and nothing to hold it in place... I discovered that what works best is a medium rise bikini/brief cut, with the leg openings set a bit more to the front, leaving more fabric at the back. :)
@@symphonyl.6588 Not sure if you were asking me. I'm kinda pear/hourglass like Sophie described hers but also petite like 5'0." My butt volume (lol) is more towards the bottom if that makes sense. Target carries Auden brand. The seamless (thicker hem not like the laser cut) bikini or even some cheeky or the ones with lace trim fit well without my crack eating them up lol. The laser cut tho, does not work. I also can't wear boy shorts/boxer briefs. Having full thighs they ride up and sausage- cased my thigh or ride all the way up in the butt crack lol so if this sounds similar to you then what works for me might work for you too. I agree with Chi that briefs stay in place better but I really don't like how they look on me since I'm short and with short torso (and a lot of time their leg opening is small)
Eh, I'm an hourglass and I find they are one of the most comfortable for me...I have a v short waist and those hip dips and hipster things with the waistband sitting in the dips give me the best fit as they are filling them out a bit, but without rolling/crunching down into them. Yet another body shape variation - most advice given for "hourglass shapes" is uncomfortable and useless to me because of my actual proportions aside from horizontal measurements.
As a pear shape, genuinely the best thing I’ve found is high waisted, high leg underwear with silicone around the edge (found mine at Soma). Since it’s high waisted/high leg, it doesn’t restrict the sides of my hips and make them look flat. The silicone keeps them from riding up and hides the lines, so you don’t really notice them under my jeans/leggings. 10/10, would recommend.
Inverted triangle: I only buy bikini and I've always wondered why people say high rise is more comfortable. To me it was, like you said, too much fabric that folds and moves around. Thanks to this explanation it is much more clear that high rise is just not for me!
I'm glad to hear that they actually do work for someone. I just always took them for either a cheep cut that they tried to trick people into buying or else a sexualized cut that some women wore despite the intense discomfort because they figured beauty required pain.
Thank you for making this very important video! I wore the wrong type of underwear for years. I wear skirts and dresses (I look terrible in pants), so I need underwear with a high rise, so that my waistline, undies, tights, and belt all end up in the same place. I spent so many years fighting with the bikini cut, lol! I thought it was my fault my underwear kept rolling down. It never occurred to me that I had to treat underwear like every other item of clothing, and check for style and fit.
Hourglass here, I advocate for thongs with a couple of centimetres of fabric sitting above the butt. They don't ride up your butt like underwear with more coverage and if they are the right size they are very comfortable. I wear a thong whenever I wear pants or any kind of tight clothing. To sleep or for flowy fabrics I wear hipster briefs with close to full coverage and lower down leg openings
@@capsulamental Interested to hear your experience. I have a long waist and a round butt which just eats up tangas, brazillians, bikinis etc so it's either thongs with a thick band on top or boyleg briefs for me :)
I avoided high rise undies because of the stigma of “granny panties”. I guess I need them with high leg 🦵 rise. I do like hipsters, found them several years ago. I like those lacy undies you showed 😎‼️
You are amazing! I've never heard anyone even discussing underwear, but you are so right. For me the best kind is granny panties. Now you can buy them made from thinner fabric and invisible panty lines. Everything stays tucked in, no protruding stomach or muffin tops. So, let's just call them vintage and enjoy.
I don't know why UA-cam recommended this video at 10:40 at night, but wow. This is actually really interesting! Thanks for sharing this. I have so many different styles. No wonder so many of them don't fit well 😅
I have the hourglass figure, and my underwear is always riding up. I finally in the last couple years have started being able to identify what underwear works best for me, and you nailed it! It’s the high-waisted lacy stuff with really thick tops but cut high in the leg. I can’t say I know if you’re right for other body types, but you nailed it for me
Thank you so much chi!!! I’m an apple shape and I had never liked high legged briefs because they reminded me of my mom and now I know why she wears they because we have the same shape. I hear a lot of lingerie people talk about bras but never underwear
this is like never talked about but i feel like it’s so important! to me it seems like underwear for women always are created from the male gaze, and it’s less about us actually feeling comfortable and more about appearance. my biggest issue is i want to wear more cotton (i’ve read that it’s healthy) but cotton underwear are like _always_ visible… ://
@@annasolovyeva1013 yeah that’s true, i’ve started wearing less tight clothes and it works fine, but i want to still be able to wear tight clothing sometimes!
@@lilyrpeace oh thank you so much! i checked it out and it seems to be exactly what i’m looking for! have you tried them yourself, do they work like expected? are they comfortable and stay in place?
Whelp. I'm sorta in between hourglass and pear, and I for one already wear exclusively granny panties. They're nice and comfy, and for me that's really all that matters
In the 1980’s, my faves were the high waisted panties which had the high cut leg openings. Best fit ever. Now, I wear cotton because I live in Florida. But recently I’ve begun designing and sewing my own bras and panties. No more fitting problems. Yay.
Hourglass and plus size here, and I agree! I'm so much more comfortable since I started wearing girl boxer briefs. Boxers for women nowadays come in great colours, can be bright and graphic, and when you wear them they look like cute mini shorts and I find the style is not just comfortable, but also flattering. I also find that a good elastic waistband makes a big difference to underwear, especially with boxers.
Such a good video! I’m a pear but I actually feel the most comfortable in Brazilian cut. The underwear rising up and getting wedgies is a real issue with a big bum, therefore I love Brazilian. Since it’s supposed to go between your cheeks I feel like I stays in place a lot better than other underwear for me, also I don’t get panty lines which I tend to get with hipsters and bikini etc. :)
Yes! Once I figured this out it changed everything in my underwear drawer! If I buy full-coverage underwear, I can either 1. Buy it big enough to cover my butt and be comfortable around my thighs, but it will sag around my waist. Or 2. Buy it smaller to fit my waist, but the fabric will dig into my thighs or simply not stretch enough to stay full coverage- I end up with a big fat wedgie. Brazilian/Cheeky undies fit my waist without digging into my thighs or bunching up in my butt. Lace edging is the finishing touch for no VPL. Yay!
As a pear, this is also my favorite type. The fabric lays on top of the butt to hold in place and keep from riding down and very little fabric on the bottom to ride up. The legs are free and there isn't flappy butt fabric attempting to cover my large butt that isn't doing anything but bunching. I can wear the right size and don't need to size up to fit the thighs or width of the widest part of my hips so they fit. Also I just don't like really high raised underwear. I don't like restrictions close to my stomach.
I'm a pear with a long rise, and I'm always pulling down my underwear! Full coverage WITH elastic legs stays the best. I get Jockey briefs, but I'm definitely on #team granny panties. Great video!
I recently discovered the comfort of grandma's underwear! I like the way they look though. I'm an hourglass, and I've always worn bikinis which bothered the ways you described perfectly.
Love this breakdown, thank you for sharing! So many of these kinds of videos resort to body shaming or operate on the assumption that everyone is chasing the same hourglass-centric beauty standards, but I was impressed by how neutral, thorough, and inclusive this analysis is!
I really can't stand briefs, boyshorts, or cheekys so I go with thongs that are very high rise. (I'm pear shape). You can still successfully wear a thong as long as it's very high rise and does not sit below your belly button, giving you a muffin top. I find this shape is very flattering for pear shape when the thong is v shape and angled to sit above your hip bones. Same thing with bathing suits. BIG leg openings are key
I agree! I’m pear shape as well and V shaped thongs are so flattering on me when the straps sit above hip bones. I also don’t like too much fabric bc it makes me feel bulky and uncomfortable when I’m wearing jeans.
Not a fan of butt floss. Had very heavy periods, so had to wear pads. Towards the end - I wore 2 back to back overnight pads. I could never wear those. I also have no butt, no need to advertise that. I'd be picking at my butt, looking for the material. I'd rather go with no underpants.
Same, I also carry a lot of weight in my bum compared to my hips so I don't have to deal with the discomfort of choosing between a suffocating butt or loose waistband with a thong 😂
Amen! Thank you, Chi. I knew that bikini, hipster weren't working out for me. I learned that underwear should be upsized and that's not working out either considering the brand that I buy. But, I thought that meant I was regulated to briefs (boring). I will definitely be expanding my underwear selection to include high cut briefs.
to be honest I don't really care about the design. I only choose cotton because any other type of material might cause hygiene issues in women and you really don't want that.
Yes!!! The problems with a constant wedgie! I am a combo hourglass/pear I agree I have been byuing myself a brief style lately and am trying to find the best to eliminate VPL
I've tried those invisible underwear before, unfortunately for me anything that isnt 100% cotton I just get a yeast infection or a terrible smell from the non breathable fabric.
@@a_grape_in_space1016 Not all fabrics are as breathable. Cotton is the best you can choose if you struggle with yeast infections. 😇 but yeast infections can literally be caused by anything, but it’s worth investing in.
Same, I had a ton of back to back yeast infections in my twenties and ended up with dermatitis because of the antimycotic creams and finally went to a dermatologist who solved all my problems: tea tree oil shower gel and only ever wear cotton underwear. It's been well over a decade and her advice is still working 😄
Thank you so much for doing this video. It's such a neglected part of being a woman. People only mention the visible panty line and maybe recomend tongs or invisible wear and that's about it. But there's so much more to it. I've tried different styles. The one i feel most confortable nowdays are basically "granny panties". High rise, the leg is just at the crease for thigh and butt, cotton. I can even buy them in white (or skin colour) to wear with white jeans. They cover so much and stop just at the right point. I don't need to worry about anything. I do still have some tongs for hot summer days. And some prettier lacy things. But I 100% choose comfort over beauty.
As a pear with overall bulky legs: if it looks even remotely like shorts - dump it. I cant squat in those bc my muscles bulk up and the seams around the leg hurt a lot, sitting down is also problematic. Besides many pears also have short chunky legs and the shorts (or any low rise panty) will only make everything worse. The best underwear for me is as high rise as possible, high cut on the leg, the back can be anything. Granny panties are an absolute gem
It's so expensive to keep making mistakes so I've stuck to the same ill-fitting for years. The used to be fine until my apple grew ginormous! This encourages me to try harder.
Thank you soooo much for telling this. It took a lot of time for me to realise that I feel uncomfortable with my underwear because it doesn't fit me but not because I don't fit underware shapes they sell 🤫
I’m an Apple shape with short waist and like my underwear right under my belly button, like 1/2” under it and full coverage in hips, wide material on the sides like hipsters or boy shorts. I do have a flat butt. Your videos crack me up 😂 your body language in the little skits is hilarious.
hourglass here, I often get annoying wedgies so this was really helpful. one thing im always worried about breifs legs rolling up so hipsters would be probably a good fit for me
Omg. I am honestly mind blown! I literally knew nothing about the subject, just assumed it was preference only, and have never seen anything or any sort of content made on the subject! I am so freaking impressed. You literally hit the nail on the head. I have the hourglass figure, and my bikini cut just does not do it for me. That is what I pick out most of the time because it is what I prefer aesthetically, but it never stays in place.
Your videos about the apple body are amazing. I didn't know I had apple body, but I would naturally have a sense of picking "high-leg briefs" and peplum tops, and wrap dresses. When I watch you videos, I can't agree more! I have made the same mistakes as you for the apple body before that you are describing in your other videos. It's so good to know you body type and what looks good on you. Shopping is way faster this way too.
For less visible panty lines always look for seams that are flat and not bulky. I've noticed that some manufactuerers for whatever reason had bulky or gathered seams wear the elastic is sewn onto the leg holes. Make sure they use a thin flat elastic with sewing that isn't bunched up or gathered but flush. Also, things don't equal no panty lines. They just move the lines from around your butt to up and over your butt. They're still visible but in a different place.
Im an hourglass and definitely hate the problems of most bikini cuts riding up or having to much fabric tension around the hips and causing any panty to become a cheeky. I have thicker thighs too and most boy shorts styles are uncomfortable for me as they roll up. Yuck. The stretch lace ones are like you said much better. Overall I eventually solved with string bikini. Having less fabric around the hips and the string sides being so stretchy it really helped alleviate all the cheeky and ride up problems for me.
Not sure if this applies to petite ladies but look for wider gussets to prevent riding up. I read that comment from an older woman on a similar video. She mentioned how newer designs have very narrow gussets and she was right. Have definitely benefited from changing my shopping habits.
Great video ! One style not mentioned here is Brazilian briefs. I’m a pear/hourglass and that’s the only thing I can ever wear other than high leg thongs. I can never make high coverage work no matter what I try - it always just rolls up and gives me a wedgie unless I go for a really large size 😂
I love it when my undies fit me so well that I want to dance! I love high waist Brazilian the most. I have a bigger bum so too much coverage like boy shorts tend to be quite uncomfortable. Remember to pay attention to your body and know which parts you want to highlight and conceal, like makeup!
Not me accidentally buying the correct underwear for my body type for years and wondering why I absolutely hate every other kind of underwear. High rise high cut all day every dayyyyy
I don't know if they're available everywhere, but some of the best underwear I've ever worn as a pear shape are "low-rise" briefs. They're not actually a low rise, they're just cut to hit a little below the natural waist, rather than right at the waistline. I bought them the first time specifically to wear under mid-rise jeans without the waistband showing. For me the waistband hits about an inch to an inch and a half below the navel, but they're not so low that they create a muffin-top effect, and I never feel like they're sliding down in my pants, like I get with a lot of bikinis. They also have that better coverage for the bottom of the cheek in back, but without being loose around the front of the leg, which I get with a standard brief a lot of the time. I prefer the cut from Fruit of the Loom, but Hanes aren't bad, either.
Wow Chi thankyou! I haven’t seen this analysis for undies before. I’m a rectangle with apple belly. After much trial and error and $$ I found waist height with high cut leg work for me…but I didn’t know why until now. Thanks again 😊
@@ddb3126 Target! High waist high cut leg style. I get them one size bigger than my usual jeans/skirts size that way I get as high a rise as possible and as high a leg cut as possible without going too crazy
I wish I could wear all that pretty underwear however my skin is hyper-sensitive to everything!! (blisters, itching, hives...the whole 9 yards) so I spend a long time online fitting pure cotton underwear and chemise type tops that are 100% cotton....not exactly sexy but at least I don't itch!
When I was a young teen and my mom still shopped for me I asked why she only ever bought fairly high waisted (granny/period) panties and she said they were for holding in your tummy, but she also insisted on full coverage, modest everything. When I was an older teen I finally went underwear shopping for myself and bought lower rise cheeky undies. Love the cheekiness but the fupa has absolutely no support 😂😂 So now at 21 I need to figure out what my body needs, and what is flattering before I go shopping for a whole new wardrobe 😅
Currently an apple who has worn hipsters since I was a teen but over the past year they keep rolling down while I'm moving which is both awkward and uncomfortable. I made the decision to get briefs a few months ago and it has been great! It has given me enough coverage in the tum, doesn't ride up the bum and they haven't rolled down once! I'm so glad fashion brought back high waisted! 😊
I'm short and petite with big bottom and thighs, I love low rise, briefs(full coverage). I can wear no other or my underwear always turns into a thong!! Wedgie all day. No bueno!!!
@@CampLJNC Lol. I think they just leave out the ladies who are bootylicious (in my case I also have big thighs and no hips so extra fun). I wore thongs for nearly 20 years and it was great, but after age 40, even as a size 4 who is fit and never had kids, I can't pull them off as women's bodies change so much and I can't bare to see all the cellulite and lumps and bumps. Boo. I wear boyshorts that are hit or miss (they never sit below my butt cheeks like they should) and make my thighs look super wide. I always wear loose joggers or something long over jeans due to my thighs and VPLs. I guess it's that or granny panties for me now that I'm nearing 50 due to the design industry forgetting about some of us who are aging with junk in the trunk that is all heading south of the border. Argh! :/
I have the same issue, but I'm 5'3"ish (I shrunk). I don't want old lady underwear just because they can't add enough fabric in the back for some of us. I feel old enough as is. Super frustrating!
Hourglss: yep! When I can get them Low rise lace shorts are my most fave thing. Also low thong, or "wide side thong" WST are a sexy feminine and have more fabric than a thong or T back, usually the sides are lace, they show off the hourglass.
You're so right: High waist, high leg, lace back works on hourglass! I discovered this fact last year. Looking back on the years I wore incorrect undies, I really wish I had a guide like yours to go to. Thank you for this!
I had no idea. I'm a Pear and always felt uncomfortable with regular underwear so I switched to Stings/Tangas as a teenager but now I know I will buy some hipsters as well. Thank you
thanks for this! took many years of trial and error to figure out the best underwear for me. i may have to consider high rise at some point but hard to find high rise with enough room for the legs also. i constantly get wedgies because so many undies don't have enough coverage. also i only wear dark leggings cus it's less obvious with the underwear lol - light leggings are sooo dangerous!!
Finding an aesthetic is hard enough, I have to know my body shape too 😩 at this point I should just make my own clothes, I actually know how to sew but I only followed step by step manuals and help from teachers - never tried going by myself. I was scared I was going to make a design error like this and it would be uncomfortable, but with your input I feel like I could give it a try again
I wholeheartedly agree with the high rise for fuller hips. However I personally prefer less coverage on my back like a lot less. Feels so good to be in a good fitting underwear
I have just watched you for the first time and I am IN LOVE! The dance of sexiness was HILARIOUS, mostly because I totally got it - you need good undies that support, shape, whatever, but you want to feel great too. Your little interlude was just perfect. I will definitely be subbing and watching more of your great humor with a lot of really useful information thrown in!
As much as I hate to admit it I really didn’t know this and had no idea what type I should wear. I just kept wearing the same style as I liked when I was young slim and hadn’t had any children. It makes sense, but it just never really occurred to me to consider this. So Thank you for this video it taught me something new. ❤️
I find hanky panky retro thong works best for me. Firm elastic lace high waist stays up.tThe seamless no elastic briefs slide down or creep up. I’m a hourglass 64 yo.
Thanks for addressing this issue! I am a classic pear shape, and it took me countless wasted purchases to realize that none of the newer shapes fit my body comfortably. It is really hard to find a good pair of bikini underwear that stay in place. Like you said, sizing up is not always the answer. I can now tell by the shape (if they have some extra room in the back) if they are going to work for me. I now only purchase bikini cut underwear, but if they are cut straight up like a cheeky pair, they are not going to stay in place!
I am between an apple and an hourglass (depending even on the day lol), and I discovered that with some shapes of underwear it even makes sense to wear them the wrong way round, meaning the butt part in the front lol. With a high rise high leg cut it can be so flattering and comfortable.
Hourglass - pear -> Highcut - HighRise, better cotton, maybe lace but cotton with a bit of Lycra wins 😏 It too took me long to figure out 😂 and with aging low rise doesn’t work at all! I think that is the reason for “granny panties” existence
I actually asked some friends of mine if they had underwear issues. They gave me some advice but they are different shapes than me. So, it actually made it worse. This is perfect. My question though is if you wear high rose underwear dont you have to wear high rise jeans/pants too? Im OK with that, but some people might not be.
I loved this video. I recently bought high-rise boy shorts for my hourglass shape because mine were giving me weggies, giving me VPL or just to tight or falling down in the front. I am plus size so I thought I was just too fat. I wear high-rise now and in cute patterns always cotton though! And I feel so comfortable! I even buy like 4 to 8 pairs of something I really like because it's hard to find for me!
At least you gave basic information and help on the journey of choosing the right one. What you said may not work for all but better to start somewhere to improve...
The lace ones for hourglass are great, but unfortunately most lace underwear will be synthetic material, which is better ro be avoided for underwear. I'll probably go with the high rise or briefs.
So happy to see this video! I have a naturally high waist and to be comfy I need high waisted underwear. Anything else just creates an awful line and a muffin top.
Hourglass : Yes I keep pulling down my underwear at the back throughout the day. I didn't realise it was an issue with the underwear. I thought other women were just comfortable with the underwear riding up like that and I wasn't. 🤷♀️

This applies to all clothing. Body positivity is also about educating yourself on what styles work best for your body type.
Exactly. Unfortunately, when some items are considered “out of style” at some point it is super hard to find them in stores or within budget, so we get stuck with, say, skinny jeans or long jackets or what not and getting dressed becomes a chore 😭
EXACTLY
Na i just wear comfy shit.
@@magnarcreed3801 it's not about "comfy shit" you child

Thankyou ❤️
Thanks, Kate! Glad it was helpful!
I am glad to say that I will be cutting my allegiance from all the boyshorts and cheekys and other mess that I have buying all these years
Thanks for sharing, Delia! Glad it was helpful!
The Natori French Cut briefs are excellent for this!
💯
I'm the same and I hate briefs because I have shorter torso but bikini works for me as long as the leg openings are wide enough
Thank you for sharing, Sophie!
Hi! Can you recommend some brands who does this? Thanks a lot!
Thanks for sharing, Caroline!
100th like !
Inverted triangle: I only buy bikini and I've always wondered why people say high rise is more comfortable. To me it was, like you said, too much fabric that folds and moves around. Thanks to this explanation it is much more clear that high rise is just not for me!
Glad it was helpful, Michelle!
I'm glad to hear that they actually do work for someone. I just always took them for either a cheep cut that they tried to trick people into buying or else a sexualized cut that some women wore despite the intense discomfort because they figured beauty required pain.
I dont know how Google knew my underwear was riding up constantly, but this is a lifesaver. Bless you and this knowledge
Thank you for sharing, Carmela! Glad you liked it!
Thanks for sharing!!
I had a very different experience with thongs (pear shape here).
I like those lacy undies you showed 😎‼️
i love granny styles, theyre comfortable
whos looking at ur undie all the time anw? 😂

Woah same it’s 10:40 for me too lol
I have the hourglass figure, and my underwear is always riding up. I finally in the last couple years have started being able to identify what underwear works best for me, and you nailed it! It’s the high-waisted lacy stuff with really thick tops but cut high in the leg. I can’t say I know if you’re right for other body types, but you nailed it for me
That is awesome!
Totally agree with you! Same here!
Can you recommend some brands / models? Jockey midis are OK but sag through the day. Sloggi chic midis are close, but ride up a couple of inches.
@@ClareW23 my favorite are the high waisted, high cut undies from American Eagle
Thank you so much chi!!! I’m an apple shape and I had never liked high legged briefs because they reminded me of my mom and now I know why she wears they because we have the same shape. I hear a lot of lingerie people talk about bras but never underwear
You are welcome, Bianca! Glad you liked it!
this is like never talked about but i feel like it’s so important! to me it seems like underwear for women always are created from the male gaze, and it’s less about us actually feeling comfortable and more about appearance.
my biggest issue is i want to wear more cotton (i’ve read that it’s healthy) but cotton underwear are like _always_ visible… ://
Cover it with clothing that's wide ir made of thick fabric. You never see cotton under mom jeans or full pleated woolen skirt
Try intimissi seamless supima cotton
Oh well, who cares? Be comfortable. If a man likes you, he'll like whatever drawers you like, as long as you take em off...😘🤯
@@annasolovyeva1013 yeah that’s true, i’ve started wearing less tight clothes and it works fine, but i want to still be able to wear tight clothing sometimes!
I hate full coverage high leg cut!😭 But I took your advice and I must admit it fits better🙂 thank you for explaining it!😊
You're welcome!
Finally, I have not heard this from anyone else. So needed! It explains a lot. Thank you so much!
In the 1980’s, my faves were the high waisted panties which had the high cut leg openings. Best fit ever. Now, I wear cotton because I live in Florida. But recently I’ve begun designing and sewing my own bras and panties. No more fitting problems. Yay.
Wow, that's amazing! I wish I can sew mine too.
Same, no way would I wear full briefs. I only wear g strings
I finally submitted to them and love them. They stay put and don't creep between my glutes...
I found them so comfy as well. They may not have lace, but they come in pretty colours
My friend's make fun of my grandma panties but I'll never part with them!
I wear them most of the time these days. I wear dresses and skirts most of the time, and they create the smoothest line.
Thank you for sharing!
This is the first I’ve ever heard this information. Makes complete sense.
Love the dance break, I totally get it. I need to wear clothes that make me feel amazing!
I am a pear shape...I feel thongs are the best. lots of freedom of movement. and no sweat between the cheeks.

a few years I discovered high rise and I never looked back! I love your sense of humor and your tips are amazing. Thank you. 🙂
to be honest I don't really care about the design. I only choose cotton because any other type of material might cause hygiene issues in women and you really don't want that.
Yes!!! The problems with a constant wedgie! I am a combo hourglass/pear I agree I have been byuing myself a brief style lately and am trying to find the best to eliminate VPL
Low rise brief is the best way to go!!!
I've tried those invisible underwear before, unfortunately for me anything that isnt 100% cotton I just get a yeast infection or a terrible smell from the non breathable fabric.
I thought I was the only one 🥺 thank u for sharing
Wait THATS whats causing it? I never even thought about the fabric
They sell cotton versions of these invisible panties now. Same cuts and styles and shapes, but made with cotton
Thanks for sharing!!
It's so expensive to keep making mistakes so I've stuck to the same ill-fitting for years. The used to be fine until my apple grew ginormous! This encourages me to try harder.

Pear shape: I checked and you are right, the most comfy underwear I have are hipsters. Now I know why. That you for your video❤
You're welcome! ❣️
Thank you soooo much for telling this. It took a lot of time for me to realise that I feel uncomfortable with my underwear because it doesn't fit me but not because I don't fit underware shapes they sell 🤫
I have an hourglass shape with a big butt. I find high-rise, high-thigh cheekies to be the best fit.
I’m an Apple shape with short waist and like my underwear right under my belly button, like 1/2” under it and full coverage in hips, wide material on the sides like hipsters or boy shorts. I do have a flat butt. Your videos crack me up 😂 your body language in the little skits is hilarious.

I just recently realized I've been wearing the wrong underwear and am planning to overhaul all of them. This video really helped, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
hourglass here, I often get annoying wedgies so this was really helpful. one thing im always worried about breifs legs rolling up so hipsters would be probably a good fit for me
Glad it was helpful and you enjoyed it, Kinsey!
Yes! It's really good to know your body shape and what looks good on you so you're not going to be in struggle when shopping! 😉
OMG..that's insane..I never thought about it.. Thanks so much.. I had a huge problem and couldn't realize the reason..
Glad it helped!
Thank you for sharing Allison!

I adore the dance where you feel yourself in a summerdress and sunglasses! Made the whole video tbh ❤️
Oh wow, thanks for sharing!
I've never seen a slender apple before. I loved all the information in this video, and thank you for normalizing all body types.
Wow Chi thankyou! I haven’t seen this analysis for undies before. I’m a rectangle with apple belly. After much trial and error and $$ I found waist height with high cut leg work for me…but I didn’t know why until now. Thanks again 😊
What brand did you find?
Love the cheekiness but the fupa has absolutely no support 😂😂
So now at 21 I need to figure out what my body needs, and what is flattering before I go shopping for a whole new wardrobe 😅
Thanks for sharing, Simone! I'm sure you'll figure out what's best for you!

So glad! Thank you! You too! 🥰🤩

OMG the battle with the “Wedgie” is real! I’m petite, but can’t find underwear that covers my butt cheeks! So frustrating LOL!
I'm short and petite with big bottom and thighs, I love low rise, briefs(full coverage).
I can wear no other or my underwear always turns into a thong!! Wedgie all day. No bueno!!!
I know, right! I'm beginning to think they're all designed by men!
@@CampLJNC 😂 hmm, does seem that way.
Today I was looking at my panty line in an outfit and I was thinking I need to buy bigger ones. The universe sent you to save me!
Hourglss: yep! When I can get them Low rise lace shorts are my most fave thing. Also low thong, or "wide side thong" WST are a sexy feminine and have more fabric than a thong or T back, usually the sides are lace, they show off the hourglass.
I was wearing the wrong underwear for years too due to a laundry error. Apologies to Mrs. Jones from Birmingham!

Glad you liked it, Nicole!
You're so right: High waist, high leg, lace back works on hourglass! I discovered this fact last year. Looking back on the years I wore incorrect undies, I really wish I had a guide like yours to go to. Thank you for this!
Thanks for sharing, Abby! Glad it was helpful!
I had no idea. I'm a Pear and always felt uncomfortable with regular underwear so I switched to Stings/Tangas as a teenager but now I know I will buy some hipsters as well.
Thank you
That's great!
thanks for this! took many years of trial and error to figure out the best underwear for me. i may have to consider high rise at some point but hard to find high rise with enough room for the legs also. i constantly get wedgies because so many undies don't have enough coverage. also i only wear dark leggings cus it's less obvious with the underwear lol - light leggings are sooo dangerous!!
lol, let’s hear it for granny panties!
Thanks for this, I am designing underwear and this has been very helpful.
You're welcome, lovely! I'm so glad to be helpful ❤️
That's so cool! You can do it, Sol! Can't wait to see you own clothes!
I wholeheartedly agree with the high rise for fuller hips. However I personally prefer less coverage on my back like a lot less. Feels so good to be in a good fitting underwear
I would have never thought to measure the rise of underwear. Thanks for the fantastic tip!
Thank you for the advice for my pear shape. I actually feel more comfortable and confident with the styles.
Wonderful! You're so welcome!
Thank you, Casandra! Glad you love it!! ❤️
As much as I hate to admit it I really didn’t know this and had no idea what type I should wear. I just kept wearing the same style as I liked when I was young slim and hadn’t had any children. It makes sense, but it just never really occurred to me to consider this.
So Thank you for this video it taught me something new. ❤️
Glad this is helpful!
I find hanky panky retro thong works best for me. Firm elastic lace high waist stays up.tThe seamless no elastic briefs slide down or creep up. I’m a hourglass 64 yo.
Being an hourglass i am most comfortable with high rise hipsters
Why those are the most comfy for me 😢
Thanks for addressing this issue!
Thanks for sharing, jp chacha!
lol for some reason i commented "cool, im going to use this tutorial as a male thanks :D" 8 months ago but i guess the video was helpful ig thx XD
One of the most useful videos ever!
Thanks for sharing, Chelsy!
would you share where you found them? I struggle with this and havent found any that I am happy with. thanks in advance
At least you gave basic information and help on the journey of choosing the right one. What you said may not work for all but better to start somewhere to improve...
This was very informative!! It never occurred to me to link my body shape to my underwear. Simple and genius !
Thank you!
This is a great tutorial. I'm a pear shape. For me the most comfortable design for me are high cut panties in 100% cotton fabric.
i recently lost 80 pounds and have been struggling trying to find the proper fits for my “new” body. thank you for making this video!
