I own this had and pipe the sound thru a 2x12 vertical oversized cab, then I have a blackstar HT 5 for the right channel. The signal comes from a Line HX fx, using the 7 cable method and I can honestly say that the clean channel (on the DSL 1) sounds sublime. Kicking in the gain channel sounds so deep and rich in distortion is beautiful. The only aspect I’m not taken by is the tone switch. That small part is the only negative aspect IMO, Overall Marshall bat it out of the park. But, as the saying goes, it’s horses for courses.
Try to use the EQ. I mean, put it all together to the max (because this is a passive EQ at all) Then you will start using the tone shift button with gives you amazing hard rock/heavy metal sound Just give it a try with this settings and you will find out what I mean 😉
hey, nice review! How loud does the clean channel go, does it have enough headroom to "fill" the room? I don't have any neighbors so I can play a bit loudly, but not that loud so that I disturb my parents downstairs lol
I swapped tubes for Genalex Gold Lion 12AX7 & 12AU7 - major change, red channel has decompressed a lot and green channel is ultra sensitive now. Boosting this amp with Maxon OD-820 ("working class Klon Centaur") makes this amp super versatile imho - I can gain pristine clean on green channel, AC/DC territory on green channel with boost, rock sound on red channel without boost and full metal sound with boost on. I paired it with 1x12 DIY cab with Celestion Creamback M65 (amp is pretty bright).
@@mitochondrium669 Hej Michał...czy zmiana lamp faktycznie spowodowała tak duża zmianę? Szukam teraz nowego głośnika(aktualnie Jensen 10")...nie mogę się zdecydować czy Creemback czy Greenback. Pozdrawiam

I also use Black Star HT5.
Both this amp and the Black Star are good amps

Nice demo. This amp sounds good.
thankyou
Bonus points for King's X riff
Thank you.
I like Kings X
Sounds great! Don’t hear the glassy brightness
thankyou!

maybe just the right volume
I've got one for practice at home, run it through a Marshall 1960a it's superb
thankyou for the advice
Is this a head?
Yes
direct recording ???
amp→speaker→iphone×2(recording+Video shooting)
I have this head. The high gain channel is pretty bad, IMO. But the clean channel sounds great clean and with an overdrive pedal.
The drive channel is fine it’s just what’s being played is not really suited to that much gain.
Thanks for your comment.
I also sometimes use a different distortion pedal(I didn't use it in this video).
I also like the distortion of the amp.

@@sid35gb I guess you didn't see the part where I said I have this head.

Amico che accordi inutili nel modo clean hai suonato... Potevi fare accordi giusti tra loro per lo meno..
