hey TC, I got a question, my C. Versicolor for the past 2-3 days has been pretty stationary on the side of his enclosure, staying in the same spot with very very little movement. He typically is on his webbing, or wondering the enclosure, and of course usually near the top, right now hes low to the floor wich isn't like him. Could he be going into premolt? He looks healthy, colors are beautiful, abdomen looks like he's well fed, I would say he's about 5 months old... but im just concerned about his lack of movement...
Well, that rehouse went really smoothly. The beauty of this species can't be beat. Will have to try my luck with a sling at some point. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
I finally got my daughter a curly haired T. She absolutely adores this spider and I can stare at it for hours each day! 😂. Called Florence and thanks to your channel she did a excellent show and tell lesson on zoom for her class. 😘
@@8leggedkeeper695 I really am. She was born with something very rare, had 34 operations, has a feeding tube, a tube coming from her appendix and a colostomy stoma. She sees the magic in all animals and creatures. She has a hog nose snake called Ernie, four lab rats, 12 hissing cockroaches, 15 axolotls and 23 sea horses. She has so much empathy due to what she lives and she finds her happy place with her pets. She’s a really great little girl. ❤️
Hmm, maybe my avic needs another cork bark in the corner. I have this same enclosure, but she insists on not making a home anywhere. I've seen them be fine with one cork piece, but maybe mine is picky, haha.
New enclosure looks great my family is excited we are wanting to order a versicolor as soon as fear not has them available again it will be our first arboreal species
I'm doing all the research before I buy my first Caribena Versicolor. This is my first Tarantula and I'm SO excited so I subscribed to your channel so I can learn as much as I can. 😊 Thank you!
Awesome job. My female likes to bite first lol. Whenever I had to rehouse her I'd use a paint brush an she'd always bite it on the first touch. After that she was good. I like to put some of there old webbing in the new enclosure.
really loving these tarantula cribs enclosures. Only have 1 T (g. pulchra) and I made sure to purchase his adult enclosure at the same time, but maybe I have room in my life for an arboreal species...
I cannot wait for mine to grow up. Mine is about 1.5 inches legspan at the moment (was a bean when I got it) so hopefully will pick up some more size over the coming months.
I rehoused my C. versicolor about two years ago at the same time I rehoused my A. geroldi. Prior to rehousing both of these gals, pretty much in the exact manner that you've done in this video. Both old enclosures had some elaborate webbing in them (I got them from my daughter, so this was my first experience with them, I'm more of a terrestrial keeper, myself). The geroldi went into her new enclosure without issue. My versi put up a bit of a fight. Skip ahead a month & the geroldi had her new digs webbed up close to what her old enclosure looked like. My versi, however...it has been two years and the enclosure is mostly devoid of webbing. She eats and behaves normal, but she is still "protesting" by not webbing.
I just got a C. Versicolor recently and it is still in it's sling enclosure, but I did make an intermediate enclosure for it when it gets bigger set up like the one you made. - Colin
hey love the enclosure, where did you get your dwarf creeping fig from the previous rehouse?? Also did you get new lighting man the videos are great keep it up!!!
I got the plants from Josh's Frogs...theyre doing really well. I got new lights months ago, I'm just learning how to use them. Lighting can be very difficult, getting right angles, intensity and temperatures based on the camera, aperture and frame rates. Im learning as I go through trial and error and trying to make each video better than the last.
Hi, I love your channel, I was wondering whether you preferred keeping Theraphosa blondi or Theraphosa Stirmi. I'm just wondering this because I am thinking about getting a Goliath birdeater but I'm not sure which one. thank you!
I bought the same enclosure which is beautiful, but the door quickly became bowed out and now I can't open or close it. Sadly it's no longer usable. I tried to reach out to tarantula cribs, but got no response...
I currently have 16 tarantulas and really want this species! I’ve heard a number of conflicting things about humidity levels and wondering if the care is a lot different than the Avic Avic?
I’d wet down the moss a bit before putting it in because putting it in dry does literally nothing it does not really maintain or increase the humidity unless you spray down the moss a bit first. Just some advice 😀👍🏼 Edit: oops I see that you did spray down the moss towards the end sorry
Is this enclosure big enough to serve the t for its entire life? I'm considering buying a juvie versicolor and I'd like to buy something that isn't too big but also will last a while.
So question… i can now attest to just how much of escape artist they are… there was the smallest crack in the door and now i cannot find mine anywhere. He was about 3/4 inch and the crack was less than 1/4 inch. Lets say he did get out any clue how i can entice it to come back to its cage or something i can put to encourage him into a container? Or do i just wait for a web
No need for locks. They use multiple, high power magnets that lock the enclosure into place. The door is nestled in a track and the tarantula is not able to get their legs between the door and the side and pry it open even if they could overpower the magnet.
Can you do a care video for this one? Also would you recommend it for a begginer? I'm considered a pink salmon bird feeder or a pink toe. (In Canada Black beauty's are 200$ but that was my first pick)
I have already made a care video on this species you can watch here: ua-cam.com/video/JrQpTjq_Azo/v-deo.html And I actually recommend this species in this beginner tarantula video here: ua-cam.com/video/YUNKogbt59c/v-deo.html
This is the exact species I'm getting today (Along with a Mexican Redrump), so I'm hoping I get some ideas for how to set this enclosure up, safely, for her.. The videos I've found so far were for extra small slings or full adults.. The ones I'm getting around about 1 inch, so a bit lost. These are my first T's in 25 years, so it's been a while, and I never had an arboreal before :D
i have my juvi c.versi in a 15x20x20 enclosure and its next moult is soon and it will need rehousing, I feel it's getting a bit tight now for it, it just stays in its web and when it is exploring, it doesn't have much room. what size next do I need for it, please? I'm not sure how fast they grow. I'm just going by its size. thanks
I want buy an enclosure from tarantula cribs, would you recommend a top opening, side opening, or one of their newer canopy mid-opening enclosure for my c. versicolor? she's a sling now. but lmk all enclosures you'd recommend for each stage of life!

Omg, too adorable. I totally giggled when it was trying to stay out of the enclosures like "FREEDOM!"
One of my absolute favorite species. Have kept them since the late 90s
How much does a pair of this spider cost in US dollars?
She deffo looks well in her new enclosure ....
Nice rehousing bro
I love that enclosure! Also, beautiful versicolor! 😍
hello great video rehouseing Richard

It's amazing the audiovisual quality that you bring in the videos
Wow...thanks so much+
Perfect timing Richard, I just got 2 tiny blue Versicolor slings in today. Enclosure looked really cosy.
I do love the versicolor, they look so awkward when they wander about, legs flailing about, makes me chuckle.....such a beauty though. Nice one.
They remind me of a blind person trying to get around 😂🤷
I can't wait for my c.versicolor to get its adult color, its been in premolt for 4 months so this video makes me super exicited
So 👏🏻
Cute 👏🏻
And 👏🏻
Fluffy!!! 🥰🤗
Such an awesome enclosure, looks better than the last one. It's always fun trying to rehouse a tarantula.
Watching this with my caribena versicolor sling (in their enclosure of course)
Omg when she jumped up into the new enclosure 😍🥰
Been watching your channel for a few months now and just got my first curly hair T, keep up the good work bro! Love from the UK.
Glad to hear that the paludarium versi is doing well!
Great looking enclosure! Nice substrit set up.
This is making me want to get a second versi 👀
Got my first T today (0.1 G. Pulchra). I'll get the Versicolor next, I love the changing colors!
Picked up a versicolor sling from a convention a few weeks ago. Pretty excited to see it grow to that size!
That's a decent upgrade... Can't wait to see her settled in.
Beautiful T and really clean looking enclosure with that sliding magnetic door.
Hello Supporter from PH,. Happy Keeping
Nice setup but I really don't like the while back wall. Would be much better black ;) Great video as always
Beautiful enclosure and lovely build. She was fairly cooperative as well.
I got the same enclosure from your website and have the exact same t in it! So far its enjoying its new home
That is awesome!
Thank you for sharing. I miss my babies. 🥰 Hoping soon I can get a few cuties.
Great rehouse video

Both! There care and temperment is essentially identical...and they look nearly identical...so I would go with which ever is more aforable i suppose.
@@tarantulacollective thanks so much!
Why don't keepers just put their spiders in larger enclosures to begin with? I know size wasn't why this one was rehoused, but I've always wondered
@@erick7027 Me too. I've asked on other channels
but never gotten an answer

I wonder if tarantulas can sense when a plant is alive or fake, as a result of the vibrations that live plants emit
