As mentioned all of these are great choices. They all feature PSAM exposure controls, so as you grow in your photographic knowledge the camera will be capable of more advanced use.
i have an xe-1 with the 18-55 kits lens. I shoot no video, only stills and primarily landscapes that print about 24 x 30. would the xa-5 be an upgrade worth doing for my needs?
Motion blur can be caused by a few things, including: camera shake, or a long exposure. It might also be due to the camera mode you may have activated. To reduce the effect of camera shake, make sure you have OIS (in applicable lenses; like the kit lens) turned on. To reduce the effect of blurred subjects, due to subject movement, try shortening the shutter speed.
Yes. The Focus Stacking mode is compatible with macro lenses. Given the extra focus range, the time needed for capture takes longer than non-Macro lenses.
XF55-200mmF3.5-4.8 R LM OIS, XC50-230mmF4.5-6.7 OIS II, XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS, which lens support fuji xa5 and please make a video about timelapse...
All of the lenses you mention work well with the X-A5. In fact, any FUJINON X-Series lens will work with the X-A5.Thanks for asking. We'll see about adding that to our catalogue.
Does it support the 4k video recording 15fps only? What kinds of 4k processing does it have ? over sampling or line skipping? Will the 4K video be cropped to 1.17x size?
The X-A5 does have in-camera processing to various film simulations. As long as you capture an image in RAW, you can apply a number of film simulations, including monochrome, after the image is captured. However, there are no Lomography processing options.
Hi Youssef. Thanks for asking. When you use the panorama mode on this camera, it creates one .jpg image file that is the results of the panorama sweep.
The X-A5 will accept that card, but it does not take advantage of the increased UHS-II speed. Check out this page for X-A5 compatibility... fujifilm-x.com/global/support/compatibility/cameras/x-a5/
Rotate the Mode Dial to the "rectangle" position and follow the instructions on the screen. We do recommend the use of a tripod to get the best results.
Why my Fujifilm xa5 can’t use with 4k burst shooting even though highlights with 4K menu? They said because of memory card , I have to use memory card with USH speed class of 3 or better right?
Both are great choices. The biggest difference being the X-T100 has an electronic viewfinder in addition to the LCD screen. The X-A5 has only the LCD screen.
Is this still with the Bayer sensor and AA filter?...yes it would be nice if some new features were migrated to X-T20 etc...esp. focus stacking and timelapse movie....
The X-T20 has a more powerful processor and therefore would be able to track subjects at a faster frame rate. X-A5 is perfect for kids, pets and normal street photography.

There are various lens mount adapters available to adapt to different lens mounts. One that is available from Fujifilm is the M-Mount adapter, which will work fine with M-Mount lenses.Other adapters will have varying degrees of success and you are best to ask on forums, etc., about the specific version you are looking to use.
Hi Axeddine. Yes, the X-A5 is a great camera to start out with. It also has advanced and manual controls that, as you grow in photography, will allow you to get more creative.
@@fujiguys Thank you sir, i appreciate your response ;) i think i will buy one and try to start a new career as a photographer , by the way your channel is amazing, full of a lot of informative videos...
I’m actually new to this fujifilm thing so the questions I’m asking might be dumb lol I was wondering if the fujifilm will transfer videos to your phone using the app
You can transfer videos, depending on the resolution of the video. However, it will depend whether you are using iOS or Android version of the app and the camera. We don't have specifics, but you can start by trying a short 720p video see if it transfers, then increase the movie resolution. But, it will not transfer 4k videos.
Hi! Xa5 user here and absolutely yes. It transfers via bluetooth or wifi. Bluetooth is fastest for transferring photos in my experience. You can't transfer videos at all with bluetooth though, only with wifi. Through wifi, you can transfer any kind of video (I was able to transfer 4k videos but not sure if there is a length cap).

The LCD screen on the X-T100 swings out horizontally, so if you are attaching a boom mic to the top of the camera, you will still be able to see all of the LCD. Also, the X-T100 has an Electronic Viewfinder.
@@fujiguys hi as i can see xa-5 and xt100 share the same sensor and i am unable to choose one of them for my vlogs so which one should i go for i mean mic mounting/viewfinder is not deal-breaker for me but video quality is ... So do they offer same video quality or there is some differences?
That is a fairly difficult question to answer. Along the lines of "How high is up?" However, as the sensor is APS-C in size, it will provide pleasing results in situations with less than standard room lighting.
Hello 😊😊😊 I just bought my Fujifilm xa5. I'm not a professional photographer but I enjoy taking picture for personal use. I have some abilities to take near shots and I love that but every time I try to take landscape shot my results are much more lower. Therefore I need your help please. 1. How to take landscape shot in day time (which settings you recommend) 2. How to take night landscape shot (which settings you recommend) 3. How to take group of people face focus. 4. How to adjust ISO for portrait mode. ??? Thank you for your time.
Hi Jonathan. Thank-you for your questions...1. Why not try the "Landscape" mode? Be sure to keep the camera as steady as you can.2. There are two night-time modes. The first is accessed by turning the command dial to "Night" mode. For the "Night (Tripod)" setting, turn to "SP" then choose it from the scene mode. Again, keep the camera as steady as you can, preferably on a tripod or steady surface.3. Usually, having the camera in "SR+" will have the best results for face focus.4. There is no option to adjust the ISO when the command dial is in "Portrait" mode. To change the ISO, you would need to turn the command dial to "P", and turn on "Face Detection" from the first page of the "AF/MF" setting menu.Hope that helps! G.
Hi Alia. It really depends on what video resolution you need. The X-A5 has 4k at 15p. If you're needing higher frame rate, have a look at the X-E3 or X-T20. These models are about the same price, but offer different form factors.
Both cameras offer similar specifications. A few of the exterior differences include: The X-T100 has an electronic viewfinder (not on the X-A5), the LCD screen of the X-T100 rotates 180 degrees to the side (the X-A5 rotates 180 degrees up).
HDMI out to external recorder! 1st for these entry models I believe. And was that a confusing mention to time lapse creating either the individual frames or a combined MOV file? (It wasn't explained to clearly, but great if that is true.)
You can choose whether you want to save the individual images (full resolution) or still images and also have a movie (up to 4K 60p) created in camera.
Thank you for this wonderful review, it helped me discover few new features I wasn't aware of before. Will there be another tutorial focusing more on video features, as I have some real issues with that? In auto mode it's constantly switching focus and brightness and as an amateur therefor provides you very bad footage. I also recorded several longer videos, where sound started glitching after few minutes and therefor speech was very much inaudible. I'd love to get some recommendations on how to deal with that.
If you have the appropriate adapter, you should be able to use that lens. You first need to change a setting in the camera to "Shoot without lens" and it will be a totally manual set-up.
I thought surely that was a mistake. Nope. Went over to Fujifilm's website and sure enough. 4k @ 15p... Which is an absolute mistake. I was all geared up to buy this camera. I've been looking at the Panasonic GX85 and 850 for a compact-ish camera that shoots 4k for travel stuff. But I wanted this camera to pair up nicely with my X-t2. This camera seems half-baked, to say the least. I have to say I'm seriously disappointed in Fujifilm. No doubt, full 4k capabilities will be released later in firmware updates, but that simply isn't good enough. I'll be waiting for Fujifilm's serious camera releases. Frankly, this was a Canon move.
I bought this camera eager for 4k and then -- wham, the 15fps hurts. I didn't realize it was only 15fps! Though there is some usage for it: For high-speed sports some write-ups say. You can use software to convert 15fps to 30 and above but it requires a lot of processing power and not possible for longer videos. I'm hoping they introduce a 4k 30fps update but since it's been 3 years past....
Please ensure you have updated all firmware in the camera and the iOS or Android is up to date. You may want to contact support if the problem persists.
Hi, I would like to buy a fuji camera, after comparing xt2 or xt20, I prefer xt20. But after seeing the comparison between xt20 and xa5, I found that, Xa5 is much more affordable speaking of the features they have. But Honestly, I got so confused, can you give me advice of which one do better if I have limited budget and want to use it as a professional photos for my job? really appreciate if you can help me... thanks anw :D
The X-T20 has an electronic viewfinder, making it easier to playback your images and see them outdoors. The X-T20 also has features geared towards a more serious enthusiast, so if you're looking to use it for professional photos for your job, our recommendation would be the X-T20.
Yes. Similar to all Fujifilm X-Series ILC models, there is a switch on the front of the camera where you can select the focus mode (Single, Continuous or Manual).
I have X-A2 with no focus mode switch on the front, and I don’t see it either on X-A5 in this video. I just searched X-A3 or X-A5 in Google Images, some have that switch and some don’t. Are there different types for each series?
Sorry Jeaf. You are correct, there is no focus mode switch on the front of the X-A5. You chance the focus mode through a menu option; same thing for other X-A models.
I see in mid range and pro Fuji X video reviews, It’s possible to keep focus on object moving towards to the camera with AF-C mode while pressing shutter button (burst mode). X-A2 has AF “Tracking” (didn’t find the “AF-C”) but auto focus is locked once I press the shutter button, so the rest of images are out of focus (burst mode + object moving towards). Trying to figure out what I’m missing, what do you think?
Thanks for the further follow-up. We have confirmed that the X-A5 has the ability to change the focus to S-AF, C-AF or MF, using the menu of the camera. This is an update to the X-A2, which did not offer those options.
The camera will be only available in a kit form for $749.99 CDN ($599.99 USD) The XC14-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ will be available at $379.99 CDN ($299.95 USD)
The X-A5 accepts 2.5mm diameter microphone plugs, including the Fujifilm MIC-ST1. Anything else requires an adapter. Most 3.5mm diameter microphones will work, but anything else would require you to test prior to using. (We are not prepared to comment on functionality of any non-Fujifilm products.)
Our apologies on a mistake on the original response to this question. As the X-A3 is discontinued, we did not have a camera available to confirm. The X-A3 does not have the option for an external microphone.
Go to tab #5 of the Shooting Menu, then "Movie Setting" and then "HD High Speed Video". You can then choose up to 4x (playback at 25p) from the originally recorded 100p video.
There's some really great features here, focus stacking, inbody timelapse movieetc. Do you think they will be brought to the xt20 via firmware updates?

Idk if i am disappointed or happy they have included certain features in this budget model versus what others offer for a similar price? Idk Idk... 4k 15fps is for who exactly? Is it a software feature that was thrown in because it has the power to do so? and the 120fps is 720p. Well atleast they are trying to show us that these features are going to be in the X-H1 and done better. So i am excited to see them listening.
I love the new lens being able to focus to 5.12 inches which should be about 2 inches from the end of lens. No need to change lenses every time you want to take a macro. I wonder if it's quiet like the Canon 15-45. I wonder if the focus is as good as Canons M100 duel pixel. Seems like a great camera.
Thanks Gordon for explaining plainly which is easy to understand for like me non pro photographer or a beginner.

I would like to test the focus stacking in macro. Would it work with the Fuji macro lenses?
Yes. The Focus Stacking mode is compatible with macro lenses. Given the extra focus range, the time needed for capture takes longer than non-Macro lenses.
Would love to do a review on that feature. For most purposes, I would love to do focus stacking in camera.
Yes. The X-A5 features 4K at 15p.It uses line skipping to record 4K videos.
same question!
Alright! A very good video, I like this guy.
Thanks for watching, and the feedback.
does this have in-camera post process or film simulation for monochrome and Lomography??
The X-A5 does have in-camera processing to various film simulations. As long as you capture an image in RAW, you can apply a number of film simulations, including monochrome, after the image is captured. However, there are no Lomography processing options.
@@fujiguys lightning speed 7min reply!! thank you Fuji Guys! :)
Awesome. Regarding the motion panorama, can i export it to normal stitched panorama?
Hi Youssef. Thanks for asking. When you use the panorama mode on this camera, it creates one .jpg image file that is the results of the panorama sweep.
can it transfer raw files using the Bloototh feature?
Hi,
only Jpegs and video files can be transferred via the app using Wi-Fi.
Thank you for the comment !
Does this cam supports sdxc memory card with the space of 128Gb UHS II class 10 250MB/s 1667x ?
The X-A5 will accept that card, but it does not take advantage of the increased UHS-II speed.
Check out this page for X-A5 compatibility...
fujifilm-x.com/global/support/compatibility/cameras/x-a5/
So should I go for UHS I?
One more question. How to use panoramic mode in fujifilm xa5?
Thankyou
Rotate the Mode Dial to the "rectangle" position and follow the instructions on the screen. We do recommend the use of a tripod to get the best results.
Why my Fujifilm xa5 can’t use with 4k burst shooting even though highlights with 4K menu? They said because of memory card , I have to use memory card with USH speed class of 3 or better right?
That is correct. In order to maximize the 4K performance of the X-A5, the memory card needs to be UHS-1 U3 or faster.
Ok thank you for your answer
Whats better to get for someone who just want to take photos for fun? This X-A5 or Xt-100??
Both are great choices. The biggest difference being the X-T100 has an electronic viewfinder in addition to the LCD screen. The X-A5 has only the LCD screen.
Is this still with the Bayer sensor and AA filter?...yes it would be nice if some new features were migrated to X-T20 etc...esp. focus stacking and timelapse movie....
That is correct...Bayer sensor and AA filter is in the X-A5.
How is the autofocus speed if compares to xt20? .. is it big difference / almost no difference?
and build quality is rugged enough?
The X-T20 has a more powerful processor and therefore would be able to track subjects at a faster frame rate. X-A5 is perfect for kids, pets and normal street photography.
Hi guys I have a big problem, my camera won’t turn on. When I charge it the little light turns in green while I charge it but when i turn it on it shuts off. I’m worried, I already tried taking the lens, taking the battery and clean it and nothing works please help

Can i use other lens using adapter
There are various lens mount adapters available to adapt to different lens mounts. One that is available from Fujifilm is the M-Mount adapter, which will work fine with M-Mount lenses.Other adapters will have varying degrees of success and you are best to ask on forums, etc., about the specific version you are looking to use.
best settings for a beginner?
Hello
Great video, simple and c'est, i'm beginer in photographe, do you recommand it on m'y case?
Will the focus stacking be put into the rest of Fuji x’s cameras.
We're not in a position to respond to that question.
Does it have clean HDMI out?
Thanks
Yes, in 8bit.
@@fujiguys No, it has HDMI out but not CLEAN HDMI.
@@musicwithmatt6531 Have a look at this link from the online instruction manual.

On menu screen 5 > MOVIE SETUP > HDMI OUTPUT INFO DISPLAY you should see that there is the option to turn the HDMI Output Display Information "On" or "Off". "Off" will provide a 'clean' HDMI output.
I have tried that several times on my x-a5 and it does not work at all. Do I have a faulty product?
@@musicwithmatt6531 If you have tried changing the setting we suggested in the previous response, you are in movie mode and not able to get a clean HDMI out, there may be a setting we are all missing. Yes, In Manual Mode, use the command dial to slow the shutter all the way down. At the very end, you will see the BULB mode.
@@fujiguys i am unable to find it. Can u pls help..!
How can i turn on and off slow motion? When i record it is always slow and i cant turn it back to normal
Please reply🥺
just got it today as a birthday gift
Hello there !! Do you recommend this camera for vlogging for beginners? It would be great help if you reply thanks😊
Yes. The X-A5 is a good choice for beginners. A better choice is the newer X-A7, if your budget allows.
@@fujiguys thanks for the reply X a7 is bit out of my budget😌 which one will be better like XT100 or X-A5?
The LCD screen on the X-T100 swings out horizontally, so if you are attaching a boom mic to the top of the camera, you will still be able to see all of the LCD. Also, the X-T100 has an Electronic Viewfinder.
@@fujiguys hi as i can see xa-5 and xt100 share the same sensor and i am unable to choose one of them for my vlogs so which one should i go for i mean mic mounting/viewfinder is not deal-breaker for me but video quality is ... So do they offer same video quality or there is some differences?
How are the photos with low light?
That is a fairly difficult question to answer. Along the lines of "How high is up?"
However, as the sensor is APS-C in size, it will provide pleasing results in situations with less than standard room lighting.
Sir it is good idea to buy this in 2020?
The X-A5 is a good budget entry level model. It has recently been updated to the X-A7, which you might check out as an option for the newer model.
Hello 😊😊😊
I just bought my Fujifilm xa5. I'm not a professional photographer but I enjoy taking picture for personal use.
I have some abilities to take near shots and I love that but every time I try to take landscape shot my results are much more lower.
Therefore I need your help please.
1. How to take landscape shot in day time (which settings you recommend)
2. How to take night landscape shot (which settings you recommend)
i have a question, if i want a Fuji model to make videos, which model you can suggest, the budget is about 700$
Hi Alia. It really depends on what video resolution you need. The X-A5 has 4k at 15p. If you're needing higher frame rate, have a look at the X-E3 or X-T20. These models are about the same price, but offer different form factors.
Which one is the better choice, Fujifilm x-t 100 or Fujifilm x-a5?
Both cameras offer similar specifications. A few of the exterior differences include: The X-T100 has an electronic viewfinder (not on the X-A5), the LCD screen of the X-T100 rotates 180 degrees to the side (the X-A5 rotates 180 degrees up).
HDMI out to external recorder! 1st for these entry models I believe. And was that a confusing mention to time lapse creating either the individual frames or a combined MOV file? (It wasn't explained to clearly, but great if that is true.)
You can choose whether you want to save the individual images (full resolution) or still images and also have a movie (up to 4K 60p) created in camera.
yep. I saw in another video that having an external recorder ability here doesn't make sense since a recorder like that costs like the camera itself.
Does it have follow focus in video mode?
Hi! It will follow and has face detection as well in 1080P
Does 4k multi focus mode exist on the xt20?
Not at this time.
hello just bought x-a5, i dont know how to auto rotate when taking selfies, any advice?
In order for the screen to correctly rotate, simply pull up (slightly' about 1/2") on the LCD screen, once it is facing forward.
Fuji Guys Channel wow thanks man problem solved 😁
Thank you for this wonderful review, it helped me discover few new features I wasn't aware of before.
Will there be another tutorial focusing more on video features, as I have some real issues with that?
In auto mode it's constantly switching focus and brightness and as an amateur therefor provides you very bad footage. I also recorded several longer videos, where sound started glitching after few minutes and therefor speech was very much inaudible.
I'd love to get some recommendations on how to deal with that.
Which one will you choose X100F or X-A5?
They are 2 very different cameras !
Thank you for the comment
Hi! Will it take manual lenses? Like the Mitakon 0,95?
If you have the appropriate adapter, you should be able to use that lens. You first need to change a setting in the camera to "Shoot without lens" and it will be a totally manual set-up.
Fuji Guys Channel Tnx! I just wanted to make sure it had the shoot without lens option in the menu! My Mitakon has the x mount. Tnx!
Yes. The X-A5 has the "Shoot without lens" option in the menu.
In my camera, When I took one picture on the camera, there were flashes of snap. How to make it back normal?
Hi Akmal, to reset the camera:
Menu/OK -> 1st Set-up Tab (Wrench) -> Reset -> Shooting Menu Reset

cool extra features that are unavailable in other premium cameras... thanks for the informative tutorial.
Thanks for watching, and your comments.
15fps isn't a useful frame rate. Fuji needs to stop with this '4k recording' false advertising.
Auto picture transfer with Fuji app work not smooth , I have reconnect several time, any idea to make it easy?
Please ensure you have updated all firmware in the camera and the iOS or Android is up to date. You may want to contact support if the problem persists.
Fuji Guys Channel how to contact support if it still not work smooth?
Fuji Guys Channel anyway my xa5 can’t shoot 4K burst but I see your videos you can ? How can make it work?
why in this video this camera can shot in 4k 30p and all the other reviewers said that this camera can only shot in 4k 15p 6:06
Hi,
this is for the timelapse mode only. The X-A5 can shoot 4K videos at 15p.
Thank you for the comment
Hi, I would like to buy a fuji camera, after comparing xt2 or xt20, I prefer xt20. But after seeing the comparison between xt20 and xa5, I found that, Xa5 is much more affordable speaking of the features they have. But Honestly, I got so confused, can you give me advice of which one do better if I have limited budget and want to use it as a professional photos for my job? really appreciate if you can help me... thanks anw :D
The X-T20 has an electronic viewfinder, making it easier to playback your images and see them outdoors. The X-T20 also has features geared towards a more serious enthusiast, so if you're looking to use it for professional photos for your job, our recommendation would be the X-T20.
is the sensor the same found in xt2 or xt20?
The sensor on the X-A5 is a Bayer sensor, so different than what is in the X-T2 and X-T20.
Maybe 15fps is just right when you want to record landscapes and sceneries that aren't moving fast
What about film sims? Does it have Acros?
Acros is not available in the X-A5.
Does it have AF-C feature?
I heard it's US 300 body only?
The camera will be only available in a kit form for $749.99 CDN ($599.99 USD) The XC14-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ will be available at $379.99 CDN ($299.95 USD)
What if the external microphone are blocking the flip screen lcd
There are optional brackets (not made by Fujifilm) to mount to the bottom of the camera that place the microphone to the side of the camera instead.
@@fujiguys cant i use a go pro external mic?
The X-A5 accepts 2.5mm diameter microphone plugs, including the Fujifilm MIC-ST1. Anything else requires an adapter. Most 3.5mm diameter microphones will work, but anything else would require you to test prior to using. (We are not prepared to comment on functionality of any non-Fujifilm products.)
@@fujiguys ok what about the xa3?
Our apologies on a mistake on the original response to this question. As the X-A3 is discontinued, we did not have a camera available to confirm. The X-A3 does not have the option for an external microphone.
how to operate slow motion on this cam?
Go to tab #5 of the Shooting Menu, then "Movie Setting" and then "HD High Speed Video". You can then choose up to 4x (playback at 25p) from the originally recorded 100p video.
There's some really great features here, focus stacking, inbody timelapse movieetc. Do you think they will be brought to the xt20 via firmware updates?

Acros film simulation is not available in the X-A5.

Can i portrait pictures in funjifilm x-a5 for photography.
There is a portrait mode for quick and easy set up. You can also getting the right lens for portraits will really help isolate your subjects too!
