anika, how about make some capes with hoods, like different styles? fur trimmed, costume, dressy, warm in real life...I would totally wear a cape instead of a coat if I had a beautiful warm one :)

Oh my gosh that would be soooo cute!
So cute!! What a great idea!!! TO sew with lycra you need a round head needle. It's specifically used for stretchy material and doesn't catch the material. You can get it from any fabric store. Felt needs a middle size needle.
I was looking on pinterest 2 weeks ago thinking about how I should try and make a jacket with bat wings! Now I definitely have to try it!

+Sophia Madden Most of the time - no! sorry! It'll not last very long if you just use fabric glue haha. stitches will be what makes these clothes last for a long time!
(Although if you were just making them for costumes, you could get away with it!)

I used to be a really confident sewer and i had no problem going over pins but about 6yr ago i sewed over a pin and the needle broken and got stuck in the lash line! literally a millimeter from my eyeball, i was extremely lucky! It took me a good 4yrs before i'd go near a sewing machine!
I can already feel myself getting better grades in sewing class, lol. But seriously, I don't know how to sew at all so I end up asking my teachers which give no help at all (they tell me to do one thing and then say I'm doing it wrong when I do what they say). But now that I've binge-watched your videos I have a lot of ideas and more confidence in my own abilities. When I grow up and get my own sewing machine I'm probably going to make more DIY clothes because god knows I need things to occupy myself with.

We have a 40-50 years old full mechanical (you have to move it with your feet) sewing machine. Now I want to try it so badly. xD These videos are so addictive. I mean yesterday it was almost 2AM... let's watch Annika til 2, then sleep... okay it might be more maybe... 15 minutes? And it was 3 AM xD
Btw if you have time and feel like doing that I'd really like to watch science/biology/chemistry nerd clothes and accesories (nope not is that word but I'm from phone and I can't google it :D sorry)

GUUURLLL I was in art class today and our teacher asked my best friend and I what we were going to be for halloween. So I told her that I'm not allowed to buy or make anything so I'll have to wear my shitty minnie mouse costume for the 3rd freaking time :( so then my art teacher was like 'ooh I still have this mortricia addams costume with flowy bat kind of wing sleeves' so then my friend was like 'Ah I recently saw this video of a girl making something similar' so I was like 'oh gosh me too, whose video??' So she didn't know the name but she gave a pretty much perfect description of you so then I told her your name and she said yes and we basically just fangirled over you throughout that period

Love your channel! Are you self-taught, or did you get design/sewing training somewhere? I am a professional seamstress in theatre costume shops and a graduate of FIDM (LA fashion school) and your sewing technique is on point! You are also re-inspiring me to DIY my own clothes. That was how I got into fashion in the first place but, you know, sometimes you don't want to "take your work home with you" so I don't get to sew for myself very often. Thanks for reminding me that it is easy and fun! Next time I'm in a store and I go "Why pay for this? I could make it...." maybe I actually will. :P I also have recently made a promise to myself to only buy ethically sourced/sweatshop free or secondhand clothing. Anyway, internet high five, you're awesome!

I literally ordered the bat hoodie from dollskill earlier this week and it arrives today, then this shows up XD Eh, no regrets.
Haha eh, well that dollskill hoodie does have some sweet glow-in-the-dark action that mine doesn't have! :) plus I'm pretty sure it's made in America too, so it's probably ethically made so yay!
