    That dress would look really cool with contrasting pockets and belt! Don’t forget to alter your pattern to match your alterations (I always forget to do this!)

    When you finish a long complicated seam only to realize the bobbin was empty for most of it. That scream- can totally relate. Why doesn't someone invent a sewing machine that just uses two normal size spools and abolish the bobbin. The tyranny of the bobbin must end. They don't hold enough thread/ They are proprietary to specific machines, so if you have more than one machine of different models, you can't interchange the bobbins. I just freaking hate bobbins.

    SO happy you used the floral, the final dress is beautiful! The timelapse song now needs to be part of EVERY sewing/crafting/making video ever! It's so relatable to all crafting mediums, and entertainingly educates people as to just how much time really is involved in creating good quality finished projects.

    Perfection! 💖 Sewing wraps in plaid (matching seams) is a special place in hell. 😈 My sister- in-laws sewed from these books in the 1980s, in Chinese! My Mom's patterns were blank tissue with no instructions... just a front and back drawing. I'm so blessed! (and loving your Time Lapse rap). Thanks 😊

      Owhhh :D GOOD LUCK! It really isn't all that difficult. In fact, quilting seems really intimidating to me! (you have to be so accurate!) so I think you'll be fine!

      Binding a quilt has given you a head start on sewing bias tape to wrap dresses/skirts, sleeveless tops, retro aprons, patch pockets, potholders, etc. Just keep your extra bobbins filled and on standby. 😁

      Professor pin cushion has a tutorial for some pyramid shaped fabric weights I made them using scraps and all hand sewn it was a nice break from having to take out ALL MY SEWING GEAR and I use them all the time

    I love that you leave in you whoopsy moments, as a new sewer I was always discouraged by these moments, but now I know that improvising is half of sewing! Thanks for the video, the dress is so cute!

    So cute! You'll definitely get a lot of use out of that dress. I'm glad that the "mistakes" were actually happy accidents (nothing is more disappointing than realizing you goofed on a sewing project). I wish I had that pattern, I have the perfect fabric for it!

    Yes! Super Sewist returns! The wrap dress turned out really nice! It looks like a toss up between adding a seam allowance or not adding one and you don't know until you start to make the pattern. I look forward to the next pattern.

    Historical costuming nerd here. Piecing (the thing you did on the back piece) is actually a thing they did back in the day. So you didn’t screw up, you just used a historically accurate technique!😊

    That turned out AMAZING!!!! I seriously need that book. I wrapped large washers from the hardware store with thin ribbon for my pattern weights. Before then I used random heavy objects as well, including a hatchet.

    Dear Annika! The gingham on your fabric is a pattern, achieved by the weaving. A print is applied on the fabric after its woven or knitted. It is a lovely orange gingham/plaid (it's kind of a mix of both)
