This video reminds me of how I do things. 1. Start putting crap together... "Oh shit, this ain't gonna work" 2. Take stuff apart... "crap this ain't gonna work either" 3. Go search youtube for a week... "ah man, I should have done it this way" 4. Work a little more... "hey... this might work" 5. Beat some pipes together... "shit... I don't have enough room" 6. Move things around a bunch... "Hey alright, I might pull this off" 7. After spending 10x more time on the project than expected... "Hey, this ain't too bad"
This is absolutely genious! I admire your work! I'm going to move into a smaller flat real soon and was planning on installing a simple loft bed. The problem is that most instalations are far to expensive for my taste and the less pricier ones are not sturdy enough to actually carry my fat ass lol. I wonder how much all the materials cost you? I'm also located in Germany :)
Awesome job on this bed! Can you advise on the the size of the pipes and fittings, and also where you purchased them? Im a mom, but I think thus would be easy enough for me to build for my son's room. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Thank you, the pipes are 42.4mm diameter and I think 3.2mm wall thickness. Since I live in Germany, I bought the stuff from local companies prokilo.de and stahl24.eu, but these are common materials that should be available anywhere.
@Daniel Sigsworth, sorry about the late reply. It ended up pretty expensive in the end, with all the materials I think around 700 euros. The plan was the sketch you see on the laptop in the beginning. It's pretty basic, so I came up with it myself, and asked some people who know whether they thought it'd be stable enough. And it still stands, so I guess it turned out alright. :)
How much load can this structure bear in kgs. I am planning to build similar structure for 500litre water tank in my bathroom. Will it hold the tank weight? How durable is steel pipes like from rust and corrosion etc.

It would be awesome if you actually filmed yourself doing it
Very nice...may I just ask how much was the total cost building your steel pipe bunk bed ?
It ended up pretty expensive in the end, with all the materials I think around 700 euros.
Servus, sieht super aus. Wie hoch sind die Kosten für das Bett (ohne Holzteile)?

I'm afraid I have no idea. All I can say is that the structure supports two humans fine.
How did you make the choice for 42 mm pipes? And how stable is the bed now?
I can't really remember. I think I was recommended to use that diameter for a construction of that size. It's rock solid.
Hi, where did you purchase your pipe and fitting? Regards, Kevin.

About how much have you spend in materials?
@Ruben Rodrigues, sorry about the late reply. It ended up pretty expensive in the end, with all the materials I think around 700 euros.
I’d love to know what software you used to make that plan??? Thanks
Oh, just Sketch to draw some lines. Nothing fancy.
sharevari thank you! Just thought it looked like all the pieces snapped into place is all haha. I’ve sort of almost finished my build plan!

are the bolts to the wall really essential?
Hard to say, but I wouldn't leave them out!
Wait till it's snowing he will fly off them shelves
what software did you use??
Nothing special, just generic drawing software. I think it was Sketch.
Where did you get your plan?
I just drew it, as it wasn't very complicated.
Can it hold two adults? Three?
Haha, excellent question! Two definitely. Two and a cat for sure. Three is yet to be tested.
@@sharevari lol, keep on that.😂😂😂
