They rarely get any blame if a team performs poorly. Yes, if their targets are up and their drops are up that will get attention; but it normally takes a while. If their targets are down, most of the attention is focused on the QB not getting them the ball. In short unless you're a receiver bringing attention onto yourself; you often get a lot of praise and recognition with none of the blame.
My dream job for the nfl would be kicker or even better punter. Don’t have to take all the abuse, does not really hurt you when you start to lose a step, and still make about $1m-$5m per year. Better chance at a little bit longer career too. Punter seems the best though, since you don’t have to hit pressure fg kicks. Then retire after making about $10m+ before taxes, and not have your body completely ruined from the abuse of the game. Plus, you still hang out with the team and get one of the best seats in the house to watch nfl games.
Add Long Snapper to that list. You are pretty well protected per the rules, and you are very specialized in what you do. Not to mention, your career is roughly twice as long as your average NFL Player (~6 seasons).
@@notundermywatch3163 that is definitely a plus too. I feel like you would have the best of both worlds. You don’t get recognized much and when you do if you are a punter or kicker, that is more than likely a die hard fan.
Only 10k subscribers by the end of this year? I am rooting for you. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if you blew by that though. I just found your channel no more than a week ago and love the videos. Interesting perspective to talk about the darker side of “why it sucks.” It seems like most coverage likes to shine the spotlight on the bright spots. Plus, I feel like your thoughts on the topics are well thought out. Really digging into it and comparing everything they do/get, compared to other players. Seems like quality content that is on the unique side to me. Still have pretty much the whole year left and you never know when the algorithm will have you pop off.
Great video! Excellent b roll and voiceover. I wish you could mention Steve Atwater and Kenny Easley. I think you should try 3 point lighting for your face cam shots.
Man your videos are stupidly good! we are making this type of content in spanish because we trying to show more sports other than soccer lol! you have been a big influence, next month you gonna hit 10k subs
He’s a unicorn. The guy is 6’4, covers big Tight Ends like no other, while also providing excellent run support. He can also play a few other positions in situational assignments.
@methylphosphatePOET safeties are definitely elite in zone it's man to man they usually aren't elite in. Most of the time a safety is playing in a zone coverage. Also its much easier to hide a bad corner then a bad safety especially against deep balls
@@baseupp12 versatile just means you're good at a lot but master of none. CBs have the absolute hardest position to play in football. They have to be great at what they do. And the elite clearly get paid their worth.
It's seems like in the NFL the positions that have to be versatile and capable of handling many responsibilities get paid the least. That's ass backwards.
This is what I think whenever some nerd says concussions or cte or player safety. It’s not about being safe. You think we pay boxers to watch them go be safe? Obviously not I don’t know what idiot decided we watched football because we wanted everyone to be safe. If that was the case soccer would be a lot more popular. People like football because of the inherent danger. Football players get paid millions because it’s a hard and dangerous sport. With that being said 99% of non nfl players would easily trade a few concussions for tens of millions of dollars. I’m tired of the dorks acting like they should never get hurt and everything should be like soccer and baseball.
Why it sucks to be a player in the secondary in general tbh have to play so much better yet get payed so much less and only bad attention unless you’re almost perfect
A little to the video so idk if my advice will be seen but you should clap twice each time you start recording so that when editing you match up the sound to the video and then if you just don’t like having the claps just delete the segment of it after you line up the video to sound. I’m saying this because your mouth is a bit off from what you’re actually saying and fixing that just puts your content above the rest of the other growing UA-camrs. You’re also just a good UA-camr so I’d like to see you improve more.
Bro at this point just make a video on why it sucks to be a NFL player
Well it kind of suck to be every position besides wr and qb
QB is hard to, but at least they get paid and get recognition

A real ballhawk safety can really turn a good defense into a great one
When you have a safety that can swoop in like a falcon got QBs thinking twice
HARRISON SMITH IS A HOF BUTTON
Yea easily

So versatile yet cornerbacks are valued nearly x2 more on average its unfair
