It’s so hard to justify paying running backs a lot of money over an extended period because they can have such sudden and sharp declines. The Cowboys contract for Zeke ended up being terrible, and the moment The Panthers gave cmc the big contract he kept getting hurt. It’s frustrating because players of that level deserve the pay, but the teams that do pay them what they deserve end up screwing themselves by doing it. They almost need to have a special running back rule where they can renegotiate every year because of how short and risky their careers are. Players would love that, teams wouldn’t.
A couple things. 1 you could decrease the rookie deals for RB which limits rookie pay or eliminate rookie deal contracts completely for the running back position which gives NFL teams a discount on running backs. This means Running back pay will be maxed out while they are in their prime. Secondly you can put salary caps on specific positions that get the bulk of the money. The fact that the quarterback position can take up nearly half the salary of all the starters combined is kind of crazy (the wide receiver market is crazy too). Putting salary caps on positions like quarterback can prevent franchises from sucking for more than half a decade based on one mistake due to the incredible leverage quarterbacks have while also spreading the money around to positions that get paid significantly less. This is a win/win for both the teams who have to take major salary cap financial risks for the QB position and the players that don’t play quarterback or wide receiver who are comparatively paid significantly less even if they are a great football player just because they don’t play WR or QB.
I remember RIcky WIlliams 2003 he carried the ball like 30 times a game barely making 1,000 for the season, he was ran into the freaking ground by the lame Dolphins offense.
Jeanty is definitely going to be picked top 5. Running backs are underutilized & QBs are overpaid compared to every position. That’s why Mahomes & Tom Brady is always winning because they are willing to take a lower pay to improve team.
Not just winning games for me man, theres more to football then that. By that logic everyone in the kicking operation should be paid more than backs, or say even recievers. Kickers play longer, they have less risk of injuries. And if u have a team without a back everything goes to shit. From defense to offense. Pay ur backs, the guys putting their lives on the line every play to score tugs
@@DeeMedia21forget the putting lives part, strictly from a winning to losing part. Kickers may arguably matter more in the end. I’m sure rbs sell more tickets to an extent but if your team is winning and the kickers are a big reason that is happening, then other players will get credit for that and the kickers will get less. That also could mean if your team is winning more then you a selling more tickets and getting a bigger audience so a kicker can be a draw in a more indirect kind of way I guess

What position should we yap about next? 🤔
This why I play WR bro I’m not getting tackled by 300 pound guys and having my knees messed up, especially what happened to my Goat Cmc(49ers fan)

the cornerback pay is shocking to me how are wrs making more than them on avg when its easier to find an avg wr as opposed to the inverse
Good offense just looks more fun than good defense for a team. Fans prefer points.

Why do you think he looks like Lamar? Care to explain?
Everytime I think abot running back declines I think of Austin Eckler .He was so good.
Kicking is very important if you understand football honestly, kickers win way more games than running backs

The o line is the big part
@__-vo1zy especially since good vision is far more important than just being a strong fast runner. Just look at david montgomery
