In my area there is a terrible trend of just lifting the front and some go as far as lowering the rear. Headlights aiming skyward as if they are hauling an invisible load of concrete blocks...
That is usually a pre runner style stance. you dont need as much travel in the back as you do in the front. People do it all the time in desert areas. They should definitely have the lights adjusted accordingly though.
adam courtney I totally understand it on a prerunner. And for a truck that is indeed heading to the desert it makes sense. I know they keep the rear low for stability and have tons of down travel in the rear and the front can only sit so low without moving the drivetrain back. Seen that a lot when I went to Dumont Dunes and Glamis. But the trucks I'm talking about are far from prerunners (and far from the desert) and more like mall crawlers... I also understand why some do it on trucks with a torsion bar front suspension as it was common here for the past couple decades to tighten up that torsion bar to raise the front just enough to clear the same size mud tires as the rear would clear stock which many would reverse after hunting season to run smaller tires in the off season. But when and how it became a desired look for the street and even lower the rear is beyond me. There is no gain in performance and it's just a "look"???
Nos16_13 Wanted I'm getting old...LOL I guess I just don't see where it would make the truck more fun? Or functional. Lowered front & rear for handling, raised for more travel/clearance, I totally get. But the mix of the two? And add to that tire stretching fitting a 10" wide tire on a 14" wide wheel is just asking for a destroyed sidewall or an easily knocked off bead if taken down the mildest trail. So far, the worst I have seen had a C-notched rear frame, cut out bed floor and wheel wells, with about 4" of clearance between the rear bumper and the ground running low profile street tires in the rear and 37" Nitto's in the front. (it was a 2wd truck) Sorry for the bitching.
JeepCollector91 dude that's just people having fun what else are they supposed to do with a 2 wheel drive truck make it 4 wheel drive and lift it so they can go off road. That takes more fabrication then just c notching the frame and slamming it why not do those things to a truck it's thief truck and their ideas they can do whatever they want with the things they own
@@a10warthog63 you barely roll any tho. Barely any black smoke comes out. If you get it modified you can have alot more black smoke come out like in the video. But it's not really rice like the video said since you actualy get more power from the modification.
I'm not saying I disagree with some of the stuff you said, but I love how every big video saying what truck mods are bad are done by British guys.. the country where they hardly have trucks at all..
IDK. its pretty nice when you tow fifth wheels all the time. you dont have to worry about smashing the tailgate and paying a wack load of money to get a new one and have it painted. the net is rather cheap and easily replaced
It's not if you word it correctly if you keep it simple as to what it actually does example some trucks need to put the tailgate down to haul stuff four wheelers 5th wheels ect. But if you say something stupid like awh yeah man that net gives me 5 more pounds of boost! Then its rice it's all wording
Justin Noker 50% of the parking lot at my school is lifted trucks. What makes it even dumber is that almost all of the them have the "Carolina Squat". What it basically means is you raise the front of the truck but lower the back . It looks retarded and then they but loud ass pipes on them so they can get even more attention.
I'm a diesel truck owner... and I agree with pretty much all of them! Truck nuts are really stupid! A small or medium sized lift is great, but a giant lift is pointless and looks dumb (I have a 3 inch on mine). Giant wheels with low profile tires looks stupid on trucks (I'm running 35/12.50/17's on mine). Tailgate nets I don't really care about! Chrome is ok as long as it's not overdone. Rolling coal is dumb when it's intentional. A well tuned diesel should put out little to no smoke! If you modify your truck for the sake of increased power, and it smokes a bit, as a side affect under full power...that's fine! But when someone modifies it JUST for the sake of pouring clouds of smoke and not for actual performance...you are a straight up tool!
i would agree with you my truck will roll a little if you really jump on it and the net is useful for fifth wheel hauling (Cheaper to replace than the tailgate) chrome not my thing but its ok. lift kits can be useful
Brandon Burley chrome is good on wheels or bumpers and my truck stock mpg is 13 mpg and with stacks and the ability to roll coal is helping my truck but its funny to see peoples reaction
Brandon Burley well I mean rolling coal is cool if someone is tailgating you but don't be "that guy" that just smokes someone out and wanders why diesels have a bad rap
IFIXUR360 Hell yea! Mines is an '04 with same engine with 288k miles and still running good. I'm a hot shot driver so I carry a lot of freight everyday. These engines are built to take a serious beating. I just wish Toyota would make a 1 ton pickup. I'd be all over that in a heartbeat.
When you delete your truck it allows it to flow out. 95% of deleted trucks are running tunes. If it’s tuned right it won’t smoke or hardly will most of the time people are dumping coal is because they tuned it for that which is a bad tune.. less power
Connor Wall no it doesn’t bud deleting the emission equipment does make it run better but a perfect tune will barely smoke. All that coal you roll is wasted horsepower kid
Keep to what you know. Tailgate nets are for 5th wheel trailers, and even than that argument is ignorant. They are designed as efficient as possible. Yes, as efficient as possible WHILE HAVING A SOLID TAILGATE which is required for most vehicles. Its likely accepted as a loss aerodynamically, and made up in other ways. Using a net does not go against them designing them as efficient as possible.
With the tailgate on a small amount of air hits the tailgate and creates a rotating air cushion in the bed allowing the rest of the airflow to glide right over that cushion and off the truck. I have found i use MORE gas when i have my tailgate down vs up. With it open you get more down force on the back of the truck causing drag and fuel loss.
AxshunJaxon Jackson I'm an American, I know trucks, I'm looking to buy myself a Silverado aswell, yet if I made this video I'd just leave out the tailgate net, everything else I agree with (plus truck nuts get some people into legal trouble)
Tailgate nets are retarded just admit it. As far as the pic with the atv did you read the text on the picture. It said tailgate nets are useful for oversized loads thus justifying it for that use.
Ernesto Lone Wolf you are right although I'm in the USA my moms truck has a 12 inch lift size 35s the biggest Fab Four bumper they have and 6 chrome smokestacks and an expensive tonal cover. My dad and I put a DPF delete kit in it because it is a 2016 Chevy Silverado we dident want to wait 4 years for the chip to give in
“To increase the quantity of pollutants coming from the exhaust” you have to be an idiot to think that’s the reasoning behind upgrading the fuel system
Lol, “upgrading the fuel system” yeah upgrading the fuel system to spit out unused fuel to look cool or piss people off. That is literally the whole point. There’s no benefit unless you’re installing a more powerful turbo and modifying your drive train to use the HP produced. +10kUSD. You know it and I know it, that’s literally why we make our trucks roll coal. Don’t hit people with that “upgrading” fallacy bullshit 😂
@@xPrevailingGaming there's actually upgrading a fuel system. Bigger injectors is more power better towing and can actually be better mileage. Injectors and a bigger turbo get a lot better mileage than stock. With a straight pipe of course
@@theredfishkid Loud exhausts and rolling coal are annoying as fuck, change my mind. And I'm from northern Louisiana so I deal with this shit on the daily.
@@podrumkaleto5042 Rolling coal. While not a big fan personally, it takes a lot of effort, time, and money to tune an engine. With the right tune and internals, there should be a small puff of smoke and the engine will run clean as it regulates the fuel to air ratio for the most power with the least amount of visible pollution coming out. Honestly the stuff the EPA is concerned about is mostly NOx and particulate matter. But the particulate matter (the rolling coal) is just carbon which will settle and dissapate towards the ground, not the atmosphere.
With regards to the lift; the highest you'll want to go for off roading is 8". While your frame may not hit the rocks, your axles will. A 5.5" kit with some 35's will be the perfect combo for on and off road
i would just swap out the standard axle with a portal axle or put bolt on portals, rather than a 5 inch lift so you lift your differential too and it doesn't change your suspension. but i don't really off road that much, mostly light trails and my stock explorer gets the job done
honestly the only problem with truck with massive tires in my area is that the dually trucks sometimes dont fit in parking places, and instead of the driver parking in 2 spaces, the driver attempts to park in one and ends up taking 3 spaces...
Gotta add something about the rolling coal thing... We diesel guys don't just add fuel to make our trucks roll coal... That's retarded. We make our truck add more fuel because it increases horsepower. We can buy 100hp injectors that inject more fuel into the cylinders and it'll add 100hp but it'll also blow more smoke.... And my truck is fully stock besides a cold air intake and at fully operating temperature, at starts my truck rolls coal... It's just a diesel doing its thing. If you don't like it... Then I'm sorry...???
onlylikenerd I guess I fit into what he hates I have a lifted modified truck I pulled all the emission devices off my motor and all the filters except the muffler and added a cold air intake with a programmer anytime I hit the gas pedal over halfway it smokes hey that's a diesel truck
onlylikenerd I get what you are saying completely but if your truck does what those other trucks do and you only have those mods, then you are lying or your truck runs like shit because my diesel blows a little smoke on launch but not like that
There is a difference between puffing a little and "rolling coal." Any diesel with a good amount of power will puff a little, but constant black smoke is purely to be obnoxious.
It only adds power if you can match the added fuel flow with more air. If the engine runs right it doesn't roll coal, because rolling coal means your expelling *unburnt* fuel which is wasteful and stupid. Adding fuel does not equal more power. It equals stench, horrid black clouds and a dead catalytic converter. More fuel AND proportionally added air DOES increase power. Until your connecting rods die, but that's a future problem.
Wild_ _Toilet I thought Truck Nuts were clever until it seemed about 10% of trucks were hanging them. Seeing one was a bit funny. But when the truck ahead of, the right of, the left of, and the cross-street, it had lost all of its charm, and it made me think poorly of the truck's driver. Kinda like a t-shirt seller of 99% or Black Lives Matter. Pointless fads, now.
No, they serve a purpose. Just like having a cowbell hanging from the frame. Rather heard the bell or the tap of balls, Hillary bobbleheads, or anything then high center your trailer tongue. Just because you think it's distasteful doesn't mean there isn't a purpose for it.
when my uncle bought his truck this is what happened. He bought the truck a day before he actually took it home, the next day he came to get it and the tailgate was stolen overnight so he bought a tailgate net because that was all he could afford and he hates it.
No, you can't do whatever you want. Because of the LAW. But if you putting blue lights on the front of your car or truck means you can be cool, enjoy them until your shit gets towed and you end up in prison. Then yeah do whatever you want in there... Cuz ur rich and stuff...
Um, Mythbusters proved that tailgate nets improve fuel consumption, and "rolling coal" is a byproduct of increasing the power of a Diesel engine, more boost needs more fuel. Don't knock what you don't know.
Ford made one for a while. and i think chevy did too but im not sure. ford had the 7.3 idi the one before the powerstroke line and it made alot less power than the turbo 7.3
The "no tailgate myth" was put to bed by Myth Busters several years ago. They used two identically optioned trucks with exactly the same amount of fuel, then ran one with the tailgate down and the other with it up. After running the tanks dry the tail gate up truck went almost 50 miles further on the same tank of gas.
Tasman McMillan tailgates are expensive. A lot easier to see when backing up without them and when pulling a fifth wheel it helps to not have a tailgate on at all
Neither have I but they are useful for some things. For example my dad's truck can't pull the RV with the quad in the box because he would need the gate down for the quad and having the gate down means it would interfere with the RV hitch. But we just take the gate off and leave it open.
kyle broflofsky not true I wish I had a diesel so I could do all those mods to my truck. Just so I could piss all you Tree huggers and Prius lovers off who gives a fluting fuck about the environment we will be long gone before this planet goes to shit anyway might as well make the best of it let people do what they want without being criticized by it if you want to be a ricer then do it if you want to be a Prius owner then do it even thought that car during production makes more pollution then any diesel truck across the globe
Nos16_13 Wanted cool while you're being inconsiderate and entitled and making the planet worse for your future generations some of us will be attempting to make the world a better place instead of complaining about how shitty it is
Rolling coal is not a practice it's just what happens when you put bigger injectors in or anything for that matter to increase hp and the dpf is the worst thing ever done to a truck
Most lifted Truck drivers that have huge lift kits are usually compensating, I admit I I have a really high car because I only use it on the weekends for 4 wheel driving. It’s not my daily driver. I have a dodge demon for that (and drag racing)
I see positives and negatives to lifting/lower trucks, there is a happy medium for example my 1985 dodge d350 standard cab long-bed (2wd 1 ton from before dodge added the second zero) has no lowering kit but sits exactly 2 inches lower than stock ( due to suspension settling over the years and the extra weight of my 1/2 inch thick pusher style bumpers front and rear) and the alignment and suspension settings are perfect as it sits... It floats down the road smoother than most modern cars and will tow better and more stable than the day it was made even on the factory 235/85r16 tires... on the other hand I have my 1985 dodge W350 crew cab short-bed (4x4 1 ton) it has a 4 inch/ 2 inch leveling/ lift suspension kit with 35x10.5r16 tires and goes everywhere on and off road I need it to go (And that is in Wisconsin's notorious blue clay) and it still tows a trailer fairly well although it does have slightly more body roll (but that's the tradeoff for having a truck riding higher than stock). The problems I see are when you go to the extremes going too low or too high can actually affect the legality of your vehicle in some states due to Bumper Laws, as well as functionality of your vehicle, safety of your vehicle, and efficiency of your vehicle, not to mention going too low could cause irreparable harm should you go over a speed bump. However like I stated I see both positives and negative to both lifting and lowering your truck and the fact is as long as lifting/ lowering your truck doesn't go to the extremes rendering the truck useless for all but 1 purpose (aka trailer queens). a minor lowering of a 2wd could actually make the tires fill the fender openings better, make it more stable when hauling, running empty, or towing and a minor lift on a 4x4 can give better ground clearance make better quality tires fit, make it more capable, while still retaining its functionality.
Thanks to it being popularized too much it now is which I never cared for it I can't afford 5 gallons more of fuel to move the same distance as a truck that is tuned right
Totally Agree, I buy trucks for work, not to play. I did buy a new tailgate but it was designed for a 5th wheel easy access hook up. Not as a gas saver after all an F-250 V-10 isn't going to get great gas mileage, no matter what mode you add.
V10 did the job well, no complaints here except for MPG, it was 15 years old when I sold it and still cranking along at over 200K miles on the engine and transmission, and that was pulling a 12,000-pound trailer.
dont forget about the people who slam their vehicles so low that they cant even drive over a quarter without scrapping the bottom of the vehicle on everything.
Minion Moto what the fuck is wrong with that it's not your car so stop bitching about it you don't have to deal with that shit so just mind your own god damn business
I've seen these driving on the road, and my stock corolla can out maneuver them, since they bounce all over the place because there is no suspension anymore.
nos16_13wanted why dont you fuck off i am not bitching bro im just throwing out another stupid mod that idiots do to their cars if you don't like it then maybe you need to quit being so damn sensitive and quit having your feelings hurt when someone says something.
Minion Moto no im not going to fuck off I defended because I do that same thing to my vehicles and if you think it's stupid then keep your shit to your self if you have an opinion about it that's fine but don't call the people that like to customize THEIR own vehicles stupid or dumb just because they do things that you don't like it's their vehicles their choice I don't go all over UA-cam telling people that lift their cars to put huge rims on it stupid for doing it I may think it's dumb but they don't so just let people be their selfs it's a free country for a reason
thats why they have air ride system, to lower and lift the truck inches just drive over speed bumps as so forth, dont like the idea of other people lowering our trucks cars ect... ? then its not your problem to complain about it, dont like them? good cause we built them out of our taste and not to impress others
No, they proved it did not work. It is more fuel efficient to drive your pick-up truck with its tailgate down, rather than up. BUSTED Driving with the tailgate down actually increased drag on the pick-up and caused it to consume fuel faster than the identical truck driven with the tailgate up. It was later revealed that the closed tailgate creates a locked vortex flow that created a smoother flow of air over the truck. With the tailgate down the trapped vortex was dissipated and the drag increased.
@@bluefalcon1952 bullshit it is a bit more efficient to just have your tailgate up with no net or anything and if u really want to slap a cover on there
wind tunnel testing and myth busters both proved that the tailgate net actually did increase mpg over the following, tailgate up, tailgate down, and no tailgate. research it yourself but that mod actually does work and i dont see how its tasteless. the net is cheaper than a tailgate for those who live in areas where tailgate theft is a big thing or have lost their tailgate due to theft or damage. tailgates, especially on newer trucks, are extremely expensive
to be fair though, it does depend on the net, it has to be enough of a restriction that it causes the recirculating effect, which to be frank most nets wouldn't really do
yeah they get rid of the circulating air effect, unless they reach up to the top of the cab and bridge the gap to the tailgate at which point you can no longer see out the back
So 24+ inch rims with low profiles is race inspired...., chrome is race inspired 12inch lift is definitely race inspired dare I say that the balls hanging are race inspired? lol
Lifting your truck does not provide more ground clearance, it lifts the body of the truck from the axles, the differentials remain the same height no mater how big the lift is.
If you understood anything about performance automobiles you'd know that we here in the USA are decades behind our counterparts in Europe. Here we think a big V-8, say a stroked 360 that puts out a horse per cubic inch is awesome (roughly 400 HP), even though it gets 6 miles per gallon and has about 300 ft/lbs of torque. In Europe the general rule of thumb is approximately 100 horses per liter of displacement and as gas is running $5 a gallon or more, they demand economy even from hypercars, even if it is only about what a truck gets here. By that measure, your 400 horse stroked 360 with approximately 402 cubic inches of displacement or 6.6 liters is about 260 horses short of where it should be. American cars are also lacking in torque, which most of us Americans don't understand, is more important than horsepower because it's the actual measure of the engine engaging the road. I currently have an F-150 with the 2.7L Ecoboost, that puts out over 75 more horses than the 4.6L my previous F-150 had. It also has about 100 more ft/lbs of torque and pulls my 30' camper down the road just fine. Ford's engineers are learning from their European counterparts, and making better engines with less. Economy and power are not exclusive, they can both be had in the same vehicle.
1:15 listen to this guy. You clearly don't know what you are talking about. Lifting your truck does NOT add ground clearance. Your dif is still in the center of your wheels even with a lift. The only way to gain ground clearance is with axle modifications or larger wheels/tires. Please don't make assumptions based on your opinion. If people like it that is fine. It is their vehicle so what does it matter to you?
Black smoke confirms a complete burn in a Diesel engine. And produces less hydrocarbons than your gas engine. The soot or rolling coal is simply soot. If you have a fire place in your house and You use it. Then YOU produce more pollutants then these diesels engines shown.
When all you see is heat waves out of the diesel engine exhaust then you have a complete burn. Soot is un-burnt fuel simple as that. Your fireplace is the same thing, good hot fire makes no smoke, leaves no soot.
usually indicative of restricted air, over fueling or a turbocharger that can't keep up with the demand for air. In short, its a sign a truck is not running correctly, was tuned badly, or had parts installed by an novice.
FYI to "truck guys" just because somebody doesn't like big lift kits, rolling coal, etc., doesn't mean they drive a prius... and people wonder why I removed myself from the truck community, despite being a truck owner.
Modifying a vehicle is by personal taste and at the end of the day we all love to put our personal touch to our car or truck. I can look at a truck and disagree with some of the mods but at the same time I always try to look at the one mod that I do like about it.
at the end of the day it's your truck your money you want to pump a bunch of money in your truck that's fine I personally wouldn't I own a 2002 3500 Duramax diesel and it's stock never felt the need to do anything to it some people can't afford that kind of upgrades I have bills house payments and the list goes on and my truck does not smoke like that in the morning when I cold start it it will smoke a little until it's warm
o and mine serves a purpose called a goose neck trailer so when I tow it the tail gate comes off then when I'm done it goes right back on and on the newer model trucks you can lock your tail gate so it doesn't get stolen bec some people can't resist taking other people stuff and tail gates are expensive the net I don't like them it wouldn't be able to hold all of my tool boxes I carry so I just lock my tail gate unless I need to take it of or access the bed of the truck

rolling coal is an outcome of bigger injectors cat deletes and so on, aka the truck is faster. if you dont want to go fast then why do you know what an antilag is?
Kinda.... Ever seen a fashion show and the model is wearing something absolutely ridiculous? But people in the fashion industry love it and ur sitting there like "wtf? That's not practical in the real world. You could never wear that to the store" same goes for stupid shit on trucks. Amongst other "truck guys" it looks great, everyone else is laughing at you. Don't get me wrong I am a "truck guy" but some look simply fucking stupid. When I see a truck with a 14" lift and an exhaust stack I instantly think the driver is a 16yr old girl. Only group of people I know that would spend money like that just to get noticed.
Justin Madden 👍👍👍 Yea... These videos are nothing but troll bait. You always get the "Chevy guy" vs the "Ford guy", the "rural guy" vs the "urban guy", or the "white guy" vs the "black guy" debate, and its nothing more than pointless rhetoric about ride hight, wheels, music, and paint job preferences etc etc etc. I look at vehicle customization as a form of art. And any artist knows the importance of being unique. So there are no right or wrong vehicle configurations (unless deemed unsafe). Do what you like, and respect others who do what they like.
lowering the truck make it more safer for other peoples car because they can see you in their mirror and it's easier to climb lower it as you like if you use it for job just don't make scratch the ground
Max Kaufmann it's not that bad for some trucks it's just a thing that happens and it's not that bad. But too much like constant coal isn't good at all and I agree it looks idiotic when all that happens is black smoke. Like just a bit of a cloud and then it goes away is fine. But idk people are just dumb. And I'm an American that lives in a small farm town so we use trucks every day and my father owns a diesel so I've seen what's bad and good.
Yeah if it trows some black smoke when you hit the gas pedal too fast or the engine starves of air it's not that much, it's not like you did it to specifically pollute. The video refers to the intentional doing of that
rolling coal is more common in turbo diesels, basic break down of most diesel engines is that the air flow is unrestricted ie: no throttle body to speak of, some do have a throttle but most don't, when you press the throttle in a diesel it's increasing the flow of diesel into the combustion chamber making a bigger bang increasing torque and making the engine rev up, add a turbo and now you have a period where the engine is not getting all the air it can but you slam the throttle down and it pours in the diesel as it would with the turbo spun up therefore dumping more fuel in then it can burn, the black smoke is the unburnt fuel, when you have black smoke all through the rev range you just have to back off the diesel injector a touch until it no longer pours smoke at mid to to top range
Colonel SkullZ Exactly. Rarely we see people with actual facts around these topics. I would bet that at least some of the modern engines have some airflow meters on the intake to keep the diesel flow at most on the stoichiometric point, until the turbo spools up and you can slam more fuel inside, but many don't so it can happen indeed. As you pointed out, that's temporary air starvation and will happen mostly on turbo diesels, but the constant one is either intentional or problems on the intake/turbo. Blown turbos on trains do this (and consequently the unburnt diesel burns on exhaust pipe's last point, making a flame tower)
I think the tire/rims thing is a culture thing more so then a "ricer" thing. "Truck nuts" look cool if it's funny. Like I've seen a truck with two actual bolt nuts on a single chain. It looked funny and was pretty cool. Actual nuts looks stupid. I hate the black smoke gang. Who thinks that's cool? Lift kits are stupid unless your going monster trucking. I see videos online where they don't put on the wheel stabilizers then talk about the "death wobble". Like did you not expect that?
well for some people lifting their trucks and getting bigger tires or mud tires does help. so you have at least 4-6 inches or more of snow in your way with a stock truck you cant get to far even in 4x4 selection if your truck is lifted with mud tires you get a good amount of clearence and the tred from the mud tires grip more easly the some snow tires yes if u need a ladder to get in ut truck lower it but if your able to pull ur self up by using the running board then its fine also some mud tires give you a good 1-2 1/2 inch lift depending on manufacture
Robert Thomas that's actually a myth about mud tires, the compound they're made of suck in cold weather, you're better off stock in snow tires than lifted on mud tires
Justin Noker so if thats a myth then tell me why when i was working roadside assistance with a friend of mine who had mud tires and a lifted f150 we went up a hill that a cop said all the cars who tried to go up didnt even make it half way up and yet we made it up the hill with mud tires and it was fresh snow
Robert Thomas fresh snow, that's why. It's very loose, the deep treads of a mud tire can easily just penetrate through it onto the road surface, wetter snow or not so fresh snow and it'd have trouble finding traction, as the compound gets no grip on the slippery surface of hard snow
Justin Noker even with fresh snow it can be very slippery just today I was pulling a gooseneck trailer with a skid steer on it and it was snowing (so there for fresh snow on the road) and it cause my pickup to spin going up a hill. So it doesn't matter if the snow is fresh or not it is how you drive in it that makes the difference. Usually slow and a steady foot will accommodate you best in snow, where fast changes in acceleration or movement of the steering wheel will cause fish tailing or complete loss of control
Instead of big lift kits you should’ve said squating trucks

I totally understand it on a prerunner. And for a truck that is indeed heading to the desert it makes sense. Seen that a lot when I went to Dumont Dunes and Glamis.

I guess I just don't see where it would make the truck more fun? Or functional. Lowered front & rear for handling, raised for more travel/clearance, I totally get. But the mix of the two? And add to that tire stretching fitting a 10" wide tire on a 14" wide wheel is just asking for a destroyed sidewall or an easily knocked off bead if taken down the mildest trail.
So far, the worst I have seen had a C-notched rear frame, cut out bed floor and wheel wells, with about 4" of clearance between the rear bumper and the ground running low profile street tires in the rear and 37" Nitto's in the front. (it was a 2wd truck)
Sorry for the bitching.

I'm not saying I disagree with some of the stuff you said, but I love how every big video saying what truck mods are bad are done by British guys.. the country where they hardly have trucks at all..
MegaElkHunter1 I agree with you 100%
They cant even fit s10's down their small roads. British guys will always hate on trucks.

Because they have vans instead of trucks.
Some vans are sick, like 7.3 diesels but trucks will always be better.
How is a truck net a ricer thing
IDK. its pretty nice when you tow fifth wheels all the time. you dont have to worry about smashing the tailgate and paying a wack load of money to get a new one and have it painted. the net is rather cheap and easily replaced
its just a stupid thing tbh
Fr 😂
it’s just a tool, this video is so dumb
It's not if you word it correctly if you keep it simple as to what it actually does example some trucks need to put the tailgate down to haul stuff four wheelers 5th wheels ect.
But if you say something stupid like awh yeah man that net gives me 5 more pounds of boost! Then its rice it's all wording
What would a Brit know about pickup trucks?

Some people use cheap tail gate replacements cause tailgates get stolen and sold

@cats am I right!? Why not is there something wrong with it other than the tailgate.
@cats am I right!? Just slap some duct tape on it and it will be fine, lol.

50% of the parking lot at my school is lifted trucks.

Brandon Burley
chrome is good on wheels or bumpers and my truck stock mpg is 13 mpg and with stacks and the ability to roll coal is helping my truck but its funny to see peoples reaction
what's wrong with bigger wheels and low profile tires?
Brandon Burley well I mean rolling coal is cool if someone is tailgating you but don't be "that guy" that just smokes someone out and wanders why diesels have a bad rap
you dont care for nets because you have no use for them. high lifts are great for high water rescues like hurricane harvey .

Not all people Rolling coal are doing it because it “looks cool” have you seen a diesel drag pickup, they hardcore roll coal
have you seen canadian semi truck drag race?
When you delete your truck it allows it to flow out. 95% of deleted trucks are running tunes. If it’s tuned right it won’t smoke or hardly will most of the time people are dumping coal is because they tuned it for that which is a bad tune.. less power
@Connor Wall not really. Black smoke is fuel that hasn't been used passing through the engine. You have black smoke when in the 900 hp range too.
Joe WIL my shitty off-road dodge runs like shit goes no where without stomping pedal shit keeps breaking I hate the piece of shit

The net is not to get better gas mileage it's for 5th wheel trailers.
Something he wouldn't know as they don't have 5th wheel trailers in tiny Britain.
This guy should stick to what he knows. Obviously not trucks.
Thats my point. Its funny to listen to though. Dude has no fucking clue why truck owners do the stuff we do
They have tailgates for 5th wheel trailers. Myth busters showed you get better mpg with the tailgate than the net.
Johnson O'Brien they make tailgates for that.
Not an issue in my long travel King shocked Bronco
With the tailgate on a small amount of air hits the tailgate and creates a rotating air cushion in the bed allowing the rest of the airflow to glide right over that cushion and off the truck. I have found i use MORE gas when i have my tailgate down vs up. With it open you get more down force on the back of the truck causing drag and fuel loss.
some time they have metal tailgate that is spend and has the dip in the middle for 5th wheels that what my uncle uses on his truck
Stick your hand out the window palm facing towards the wind, now turn your palm down towards the pavement.Which has the most drag?
Lifting a truck high is like lowering a car really low
And you still can use it on the road it's not like it's handicapped to trails

Agreed, mostly because one of the pics is of a truck with an overlength atv.
Tailgate nets are retarded just admit it. As far as the pic with the atv did you read the text on the picture. It said tailgate nets are useful for oversized loads thus justifying it for that use.

A rough country lift kit should be sufficient.
Yeah thats why he said double digits too though. I have a 6 inch lift for winters in MN, USA but I wouldnt go higher.
almost all trucks can handle the winter weather here. You will rarely lose all control in a truck.
Ernesto Lone Wolf you are right although I'm in the USA my moms truck has a 12 inch lift size 35s the biggest Fab Four bumper they have and 6 chrome smokestacks and an expensive tonal cover.

1) tailgate nets can be useful, 2) enormous lift kits can be useful if you are a hardcore off-roader

A 5.5" kit with some 35's will be the perfect combo for on and off road
and a 2'' lift and 30's is perfect for a work truck imo
I got a 2" on stock for my 350, works great pulls heavy at 75 mph. Pure work truck, damn things too big for the trails.
i would just swap out the standard axle with a portal axle or put bolt on portals, rather than a 5 inch lift so you lift your differential too and it doesn't change your suspension. but i don't really off road that much, mostly light trails and my stock explorer gets the job done
what about mud? didn't think of that did you. bigger lift bigger tires = better for mud
honestly the only problem with truck with massive tires in my area is that the dually trucks sometimes dont fit in parking places, and instead of the driver parking in 2 spaces, the driver attempts to park in one and ends up taking 3 spaces...

My lawnmower rolls coal, it's completely normal for diesel engines

Um, Mythbusters proved that tailgate nets improve fuel consumption, and "rolling coal" is a byproduct of increasing the power of a Diesel engine, more boost needs more fuel. Don't knock what you don't know.
Seth Wilcox Rolling coal is not horsepower, a proper fuel burn cycle on a diesel leaves little to no smoke smartass
Tailgate nets are also good if your tailgate gets stolen as a temporary replacement
david drez yes
lmfao yeah 💀
Who the fuck would steal the tail gate?
that's a good question but what do people not steal
Tasman McMillan tailgates are expensive. A lot easier to see when backing up without them and when pulling a fifth wheel it helps to not have a tailgate on at all
I haven't seen a tail gate net in years
Neither have I but they are useful for some things. For example my dad's truck can't pull the RV with the quad in the box because he would need the gate down for the quad and having the gate down means it would interfere with the RV hitch. But we just take the gate off and leave it open.

Most lifted Truck drivers that have huge lift kits are usually compensating, I admit I I have a really high car because I only use it on the weekends for 4 wheel driving. It’s not my daily driver. I have a dodge demon for that (and drag racing)

Jy Walker1603 lol you say other people are compensating while you drop that you have a demon ahahaha how ironic.
Jy Walker1603 you are probably just have those on forza and not in real life
You should have included lowering your truck
So a lightning and HD F150, SRT10 ram and syclone/Typhoon should be lifted?

"It makes it more dangerous in a accident" tell the prius to stop saving gas then
Totally Agree, I buy trucks for work, not to play. I did buy a new tailgate but it was designed for a 5th wheel easy access hook up. Not as a gas saver after all an F-250 V-10 isn't going to get great gas mileage, no matter what mode you add.
that's where your wrong

lol okay,
my v10 is great.....
until I go to the gas station once a week....

So to a certain extent when you add more power to your diesel they tend to roll coal
Well the mythbuster tested the tailgate net and they said it worked
No, they proved it did not work. It is more fuel efficient to drive your pick-up truck with its tailgate down, rather than up.
BUSTED
Driving with the tailgate down actually increased drag on the pick-up and caused it to consume fuel faster than the identical truck driven with the tailgate up.

Remember the ram Daytona? That had the bed wing
Tailgate nets can be useful when your tailgate gets stolen so it ain’t no rider mod
wind tunnel testing and myth busters both proved that the tailgate net actually did increase mpg over the following, tailgate up, tailgate down, and no tailgate. research it yourself but that mod actually does work and i dont see how its tasteless. the net is cheaper than a tailgate for those who live in areas where tailgate theft is a big thing or have lost their tailgate due to theft or damage. tailgates, especially on newer trucks, are extremely expensive
to be fair though, it does depend on the net, it has to be enough of a restriction that it causes the recirculating effect, which to be frank most nets wouldn't really do
Just put a tonneau cover on the bed and be done with it.
that also was tested and again reduced mpg and increased drag
yeah they get rid of the circulating air effect, unless they reach up to the top of the cab and bridge the gap to the tailgate at which point you can no longer see out the back
Well it sure as hell looks nicer than a damn net.
None of this is rice. Does this guy even know what rice is??? Yes these are pottentially bad but not rice.

Extortion lool 😂
Okay, rolling coal is only acceptable when you do colossal burnouts
ColoradoCars And if your truck is moderate to heavily modified
Lifting your truck does not provide more ground clearance, it lifts the body of the truck from the axles, the differentials remain the same height no mater how big the lift is.
kodak blak no it does, when you lift a truck 4-8” you get more clearance to add taller tires that’ll give you better clearance over all.
Skyler Springsteen yeah I guess.. most ppl have solid axles though so the differentials might scrape
Of course the British guy is tryin to tell us what's best for trucks
Economy and power are not exclusive, they can both be had in the same vehicle.
but we are not talking about performance vehicles we are talking about pickup trucks. Pickup trucks that europeans do not generally have access to.
I think they need horse carriage wheels on them. Cause those had really low profile tires.
Train wheels bro. Ride around like Thomas the Tank Engine.
yeah fuck rubber all together just rim ride
dank*
Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one
Stevie Wonder right!
Stevie Wonder And they all stink.
Has two...
Kim Jong un doesn't have a butthole. (The interview reference if you don't get it)
1:15 listen to this guy.
Black smoke, don't mean it broke... love my dodge Cummins
PROUD NDN Hell yeah
fuck yeah
Black smoke confirms a complete burn in a Diesel engine. And produces less hydrocarbons than your gas engine. The soot or rolling coal is simply soot. If you have a fire place in your house and You use it. Then YOU produce more pollutants then these diesels engines shown.
When all you see is heat waves out of the diesel engine exhaust then you have a complete burn. Soot is un-burnt fuel simple as that. Your fireplace is the same thing, good hot fire makes no smoke, leaves no soot.
4Xprops !!!! and you gradiated forf of fife graad
Oh my gosh, the low profile tires. Thank you! Ridiculous.
Roaling coal is dangerous to the engine... Hmmm wonder where he learned that wtf?
usually indicative of restricted air, over fueling or a turbocharger that can't keep up with the demand for air.
Rolling coal is cool if it doesn't bring a smile to your face your not a real man
no.
Nope, nope, nope.
bliglum well then don't get so close it's in your face it's still cool I guess it's only country boys that like rolling coal
Yeah I love rolling coal the EPA is bull shit
It is UGLY and pollutes the air, if you want all the UGLY black smoke then run the exhaust directly into your cab, and keep the windows rolled up!

@ 3:49
lol pleasure seeing you here!
Thats a nice truck
Carlos Verdugo not to most truck owners. We would rather have big tires not big rims
Those trucks r common where i live
The reason rolling coal is cool is because whenever little Prius owners like you try to pass us we can make your little Prius black
That's what he probably drives
Rolling Coal, the anti-lag of the truck world
not even comparable. anti lag serves a purpose. rolling coal does not.
when diesels make power they roal coal
rolling coal is an outcome of bigger injectors cat deletes and so on, aka the truck is faster. if you dont want to go fast then why do you know what an antilag is?
Rolling coal in people faces is not cool though that's when the ones who do it should fear nowadays and be careful...
rolling coal does not equal power. you can make 800hp and minimal smoke.
I don't need a British guy telling what's cool on my American truck
no shit
Travis Dezellem
Don't hate on those idiots.... they think they look cool. You could to if you weren't a broke, jealous bitch.
Amen
Timmy Feltmann ha. You, I like you.
I say buy what you want and do whatever you want to it. Don't conform to someone else's personal preference.
Do what you like, and respect others who do what they like.
i agree with that. but at the same time i can tell you if i think it looks like shit or not. opinions are what they are opinions.
Dude you probably drive a Prius
FIRST!! :D
Viral Vehicles really cool! Subbed and liked
Thanks!
Viral Vehicles lolz
That's A Neck serus dude how is that bad mods it is cool
English?
Lowering your truck didn't make the list?
I think slammed trucks aren't a thing nos
now*
lowering the truck make it more safer for other peoples car because they can see you in their mirror and it's easier to climb lower it as you like if you use it for job just don't make scratch the ground
The first chrome truck looks not bad. But I dont get why anybody would think that coal-rolling is cool. Its just idiotic.
Colonel SkullZ
Exactly.
Ok rolling coal is Awesome and lift kits are freaking awesome!
I absolutely adore lift kits
@@natashad6 Yeah they look awesome
the tailgate net usually is because their tailgate got stolen/ broken
well for some people lifting their trucks and getting bigger tires or mud tires does help. so you have at least 4-6 inches or more of snow in your way with a stock truck you cant get to far even in 4x4 selection if your truck is lifted with mud tires you get a good amount of clearence and the tred from the mud tires grip more easly the some snow tires yes if u need a ladder to get in ut truck lower it but if your able to pull ur self up by using the running board then its fine also some mud tires give you a good 1-2 1/2 inch lift depending on manufacture
I feel like I wanna shoot an RPG at a rolling coal and say "ya want black smoke? I'll give ya a big one!"
the upgrade is not called rolling coal its what it makes the truck do but its called a programer
