Super capable, minimalist Jeep camper. Love these systems. "The Road Chose Me" uses one of these, and he's driven 50,000 miles around Africa with it.

Great setup! I keep playing with the idea of making a stealth van. But I want to get out in nature. 4WD and high ground clearance would be important. A setup like THIS is what I need! Or maybe some sort of camper on the back of a 4WD pickup.

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is the best off road vehicle in my opinion. With that being said, the Ursa Minor pop top is the best camper set up for these vehicles. I love how you can access it through the interior of the Jeep or from the outside. The ease and speed at which you can set up camp with one of these things makes it that much cooler to me. Also, the Goose Gear system is a must. I’m always so amazed by how much gear you can fit into these Jeeps once you install the Goose Gear delete system. I’m also loving the tailgate section. The fold out table and pull out gas burner and refrigerator are all set up up beautifully. I’m totally in love with this Jeep! For a 15 year old this kid is driving an awesome machine and he seems to know how to handle the Jeep on those rocky trails. This was definitely a cool video!

Nice walk-through on the Jeep. I love those Ursa Minors. I almost got one for my Element I used to have and explore in all over the place and these days, thanks to Chris Shontz and guys like Nate and his dad I totally regret not doing it. I traded in that Element for an FJ that I had many good adventures in and I often thought about pestering the Ursa guys to do a one-off for that thing. And I still miss that goofy little Honda toaster.

Thanks, what Nate forgot to mention is that this build started in 2006 when I first bought my 2007 JKUR. The current backup camera and sPOD came out of that Jeep. In 2012 I moved a lot of items over to a 2013 JKUR because I wanted the new 3.6l engine. The Ursa Minor, Goose Gear, AEV wheels, and bumpers were from the 2013 Jeep. Point is this Jeep is a slow build, where I have picked items that I want over and extended period of time. I seem to add one or two big ticket items a year.

This is one the best jeeps for camping I've seen. Seriously makes me want to go buy a jeep and buy an ursa minor camper. How about the gladiator with an ursa minor camper??

Ursa Minor is awesome! We have been living in ours in Mexico for 5 months. Great build quality and very fast set up/break down.

@@batmanaerm7649 Although you can have screens all around for breeze its not great for extreme hot or cold. When it gets hot head for mountains. When it gets cold head for the beach.

We use it in the winter, but I live in San Diego, CA. Check out Venture4wd or theroadchoseme. Chris and Dan live out of there Ursa Minor Jeep campers full time. Unfortunately the roof line on a 2 door Jeep is not long enough for an Ursa Minor Camper. Thanks

Yes, the Jeep is 500 lbs over GVWR with full fuel, food, water and myself. The Jeep has Dynatrac Big Brakes which Nate forgot to mention. 😂
