- Here we go over a fun theory. What if the Spinosaurus fought the Indominus Rex from Jurassic World? These two dinos have battled Tyrannosaurs before and both dinosaurs are formidable animals. The Park franchise has a lot of cool stuff to think about when it comes to stuff like this so I hope you all enjoy the video! :D

Although I do agree that indominus Rex would win against spino, I’d don’t think the point he brought up at the end was fair when he talked about the raptor scene. Because the indominus had to fight 3 raptors while the spino had to fight like 50.

Remember that the JP3 Spinosaurus was a genetically modified super predator. The JP3 Spinosaurus has very very little in common with it's prehistoric counterpart in any capacity. I believe that the Spinosaurus was one of Dr. Wu's first experiments in creating a hybrid super predator and as such, I believe that he probably exorcised even LESS restraint in creating it than he did with Indominus Rex.

Would make sense for Spino to be a prototype of what would become the I. Rex. With how absurdly aggressive and resilient it was, it definitely wasn't a natural creature.
Non of it is accurate to their actual prehistoric dinosaurs.

Indominus rex was an inexperienced, stressed out captive animal that killed several pampered park attractions. Spinosaurus lived its adult life fighting for survival on Isla Sorna where it depended on no one but itself.

It has incredible hyper intelligence shown taking down an ankylosaurus in a matter of seconds once she knew about its hard back. Iris is really smart and multiple aspects and you guys treat her like she's a kid throwing a tantrum

The dinos the spino hunted in order to survive were wild and accustomed to being on the receiving end of predators. Along with the spino fighring trexs and the like for territory.
The irex fought dinosaurs that had never experienced predation, injerently making this killing spree easier. You are right in regards to the intelligence with the anky fight, quickly figuring out how to get around the armour.
With the irex fight against rexy and blue i have some unknowns such as had rexy fought a large therepod before. The Irex did put up a good fight against the raptors and rexy until they teamed up. But the fight was cut short by the mosasaur, perhaps had that not happened the irex may have won.
Combat experience wise the spino wins
Intelligence goes to the Irex
IDK about speed
Camouflage goes to the Irex
IDK about sight and smell
I think strength goes to the spino.

I believe the Spinosaurus would win simply because living on Sorna it would be more hardened and considering that T-Rex urine seemed to attract it according to Eric in JP3 it seems clear that it makes it a point to hunt down Rexes. The indominus also wasnt full grown in world plus Rexy is quite an older gal. She might not have been in her prime when she and Indominus fought. Either way I think Spino and Indominus would be a bloody and vicious fight with any winner if there even is one probably not lasting long after a fight.
Although, in this hypothetical scenario, the T-Rex would have won the fight. The Spinosaurus was a bigger dinosaur, but the T-Rex was more robust and faster than the Spinosaurus, and it had a more potent bite force. The Spinosaurus would not have a chance if pitted against the mighty T-Rex. Just saying

Something I don’t think many noticed about the Spino is right on its face: it has the same “horn” crests over its eyes as the raptors. I personally think the Spino is a hybrid of several dinosaurs to try and create a Spinosaurus rather than being a simple “fill the gap” creation. The Spino shows intelligence in how it deals with things, including sneaking up on the people not once, but twice, once from the tree line where it would’ve gotten closer if not for the phone ringing and once from the water. I suspect it was Dr. Wu’s original prototype base hybrid (a leftover from his bird feather experiment) and is what gave him the head start in creating the I-Rex later on as he would’ve already had practice. Also, in the “grapple” scene, in the very picture you used, you can see that one of its claws is clear through the Rex’s right eye socket, which in theory could give it some leverage. The long jaws would also clamp down the length of the back of the Rex’s jaw, meaning it’s not the arms leveraging it to snap the neck, but the Spino’s head forcing the rotation. The arms simply pinned the Rex long enough to get its jaws into the right spot to rotate its nose down and do the deed. The fact it got into this position so quickly shows it was not only smart enough to do this, but I think indicates that it has done this before. The I-Rex killed things for sport, whereas the Spino killed for either food or fighting for its life. Something the dinos killed by the I-Rex had not experienced, living in captivity safe from carnivores and resorting to instinct only and no defensive experience, whereas the Spino was facing other wild creature in a wild world against opponents who knew how to defend themselves based on instinct and experience. I think that would make it more of a 50\50 than a 40\60 on its own. And I still believe the Spino had some raptor in it due to the deviated facial structure, which resulted in higher intelligence. Also need to consider the Spino grew up in the wild, meaning if it did have the same intelligence in it, the fact it was wild and hyper aggressive might make it more “feral” compared to the I-Rex locked in solitary confinement, and thus the I-Rex might be able to strategize more if given a moment to think, thus giving it an edge... maybe pushing it back to a 45\55 favoring the I-Rex. But I digress... I simply want to point out the fact the Spino shares a facial characteristic with the raptors bred in the same lab. We also don’t know every secret about the Spino, as unlike the I-Rex we don’t have a list and explanation of it from Dr. Wu on screen like we did with the I-Rex... the Spino could have reinforced bones or extra muscle mass.

@@acemarvel1564 Nah, this Spino is a literally brute force tank, the I rex would not be stupid enough to simply go in attacking without realizing that the Spino is the Apex Predator in it's domain, it's like Godzilla, Kong, King Ghidora and Mothra, all of them are Alpha Titan candidates, the I Rex and the Spino are both Alpha Dinosaurs. If the Spino hits the I rex it can do some serious damage just like the I Rex can, tho the Spino would be able to somewhat tank those hits more than the I Rex.

People also for get to mention that the Spinosaurus took more than likely multiple 50 bmg caliber bullets. Cooper got quite a few shots off before he died and I know at least one of those shots hit the Spino and for that kind of a bullet to be ineffective it kind of puts another layer of perspective to how op the Spinosaurus really was.

I think it would be a pretty even match up. My head canon is that the Spinosaurus was like a proto Indominus Rex. They took the actual Spinosaurus dna and combined it with like, Giganotosaurus or something. This would explain why it looks so different from a real Spinosaurus, and why it "wasn't on Ingen's list". With this in mind, who's to say that it couldn't be highly intelligent as well?

My favourite dinosaur of all time is the Spinosaurus, with that said, I love your decision to say that they would probably both die. That and the IRex would probably win almost every time just because of how unbelievably smart it was.
Spino in jp3 is 100% a hybrid as well and extremely overpowered. Irex is definitely not winning every time (unless plot armor is involved in an actual movie scenario), in fact favors Spino 60/40
As you stated I think its highly dependent on setting. On paper, yes the I-Rex is built to win. But in practice we have an animal that broke loose with no real skills, and got got by something higher up the food chain.
The spinosaur represents a completely wild animal with all it's instincts at razor sharpness.
If the Indominus had come from Isla Sorna and lived wild, I would say it wins every non-surprise attack confrontation. The Spinosaur could use alligator tactics to catch him by the river, but once the I-Rex really learns how to use his abilities he isn't taking an L on dry land.

I would like to take into consideration we have a in-its-prime Indominus going whack crazy on a T-Rex several decades old by now. In a fight between animals, older and more experienced usually translates to worse capability.
Also, the gun fire claim isnt backed at all. Since, the team sent to attack the Indominus originally was all non-lethal, as stated by Owen when reprimanding the curator for not letting anyone bring a lethal firearm. Meaning they were using rubber bullets.
Also the m134 on the helicopter scene missed every single one of its shots. So that's an irrelevant defense too.
Lmao Spino fan found. I'm pretty sure an RP FUCKING G isn't non lethal. Let's also take her getting clubbed in the face by an Ankylosaur and over coming it into effect. Also let's take into consideration the running away from gunfire and a gatling gun, while engaging a pack of raptors that have killed numerous armed personnel while being shot by Owen as well. The first team that attacked the Indominus was all non lethal which Owen reprimanded. The M134 missed all of its shots, the RPG hit the tree next to the Indominus and also missed.
The ankylosaurus hit is invalided by the Spinosaurus going head first through a steel reinforced fence.
The Indominus did nothing but fight a literal grandma Tyrannosaur and then got body slammed by a giant sea creature almost 3 times its size. There is no good argument for this animal besides its smart, ignoring it has no other advantage what so ever the Spinosaurus didn't exceed or match outright.
But of course, you made a defense for none of these and acted like a troll instead. Please go back to reddit and cope somewhere else.

I think not just the arena but the CONTEXT of the fight also matters a whole lot. If it were like a concrete arena or inside JP San Diego or something with no other variables to give one of them a reason to leave, it's very even. But if you put it in a typical JP jungle and give the Indominus the chance to sneak up and use its camouflage BEFORE the fight begins, it has a considerable advantage over the Spinosaurus. As a side-note I also think the Indominus has much sharper claws that can shred and grip much more than what the Spino is capable of doing.

After considering the many variables: age, experience, weaponry, aggression, intelligence, lifestyle, agility, corporeal build, and Instinct for battle... I have come to the conclusion that, Spinosaurus will take the win in 65% of potential fights. The sheer lack of experience on Indy's part is just too wide a gap in capability to overcome.
i disagree. the spinosaurus has no experience fighting the indominus. there is no dinosaur in isla sorna that is similar to the indominus. this is the first time that the spino ever mets the indominus. they both have 0 experience fighting each other. However, the indominus is a quick learner. it will gain experience from the spot. the indominus would most likely win

Basically a pissed off predator VS a literal bloodthirsty war machine.
The Indom on paper is stronger, but in practice I favor the Spino. While the Indominus is bigger and has some potent weaponry, it was actually having a very difficult time with an old, out of practice T.rex which hadn't had a serious confrontation in over a decade. The Spinosaurus was bulldozing through high end rifle fire, having a plane smash into it, rushing through a jungle, and then curb-stomping a T.rex in short order. That to me, is much more impressive. To me the Indominus is a bit like every time we've tried to make a domestic dog bigger and stronger than a wolf. Some dog breeds are bigger, heavier, have thicker jaws, and larger legs than wolves; yet no dog alive can best a healthy adult wolf in a majority of 1v1 brawls.
Sometimes, nature just knew what they were doing and while the Spino was modified as well, it wasn't as heavily modified as the Indominus. Close fight, but I give this one to the Spino.
Out of practice T.Rex? Rexy doesn't just go out of practise, she's extremely powerful.

2nd reason is the indom is(or was) about the size if the rex if not just a bit bigger, the spino is shown to be a fairly larger then the rex, so weight advantage is spinosaurus. (Will admit i could be wrong on size cause i dont have size compared chart)
3rd i disagree on the combat experience. The spino grew up and was basically wild for years the indom went on a killing spree for only about a day. However the indom is smart enough that vs the experience of the spino they basically cancel out. Spino knows how to fight an has been for a long time and indom is smart enough to pick up combat quickly.
Also the I-Rex fights to the weaknesses of its opponent and learns their strengths quickly, against the T-Rex that was the very first time she’s ever fought an apex predator, she let the T. rex attack first and then when she went on the attack she took the T Rex out in 2nds
I have to disagree with the size thing. Remember, the indominus wasn't fully grown, neither was the t rex the spino killed.

@@konservendose3239 Didn't Dr. Wu say it would grow up to 50 feet in length when it was fully grown. The Indominus Rex in Jurassic World was only around 40 feet long, so the Indominus Rex would definitely have grown bigger.

Honestly, when I watched Jurassic World in theaters and Gray said “we need more teeth” and Claire went and opened a paddock, I honestly thought it was gonna be the spinosaurus that came out since we already saw the T. rex, albeit very briefly, earlier in the film.

In most cases, the Indominus would win. Wu has more years to perfect his hybrids and Indominus has greater strength and smarts (for a dinosaur).
I think spino takes it more than half the fights. It is a more experienced killer than the Irex, Irex might have had more kills during the movie but aside from killing it's sibling those kills were all of it's kills in it's entire life, the spino had been hunting and killing for over a decade by the time of jp3.
Irex might be a quick learner but learning quick isn't as good as already knowing what to do. The spino clearly had plenty of experience fighting other apex carnivores based on the efficiency of its rex kill.
I think the spino wins more than 60%. It's adapted to swim which means it probably spends the majority of its time near water. If they were to meet, homefield advantage takes it over the top.

From what I remember the plane grazed the spine it wasn’t a full on hit. If that were the case one of two things would have happened. The plane would have been a crumpled beer can with all occupants dead with the spinosaurus on the ground with his sail battered and torn. Scenario two plane a crumpled beer can with all occupants dead and the spino hurt but still standing thanks to the heavy armor on its sail.
My money is on the I-Rex. The combination of the strategic hunting skills and intelligence of the raptors and brutal violence, strength, mass and height of tyrannosauruses is the ultimative killer weapon. But I agree it would probably be a close match
My thing is it’s only a close fight because of the OP defence the spino was given in JP3 if we put them at realistic standards the I Rex wins hands down in my opinion

The indominus would only have to stomp or bite the sail, and spino is basically dead. The spino is going to have to go in and fight with a creature that doesn’t have any exploitable weaknesses, irex kills spino 100% on land but in the water I’m gonna say spino, because he would likely drown the indominus

That being said, I really loved your analysis of both animals in particular and frankly really agree with your thoughts. I particularly liked your focus on percentage to which would be the victorious and how terrain really shifts power. Yeah, I agree with you one hundred percent. I see your point of view from both dinosaurs and seeing as how they didn't put too much time into the Spinosaurus. He would probably lose because of the flaw that they made for him with his sail as a spine. Even though to be fair, it kind was actually the Spino's movie. I still have respect for it and the endurance that they showed during the movie. After seeing the Spinosaurus and the Indominous Rex fighting ability and endurance stats, I definitely have to pick the Indominous. It may be a very close battle though.

I'm such a Spinosaurus stan, I just love the sail.
The Spino was most likely a genetic mix of something other than just Spino DNA. It having killed the Rex so easily shows it knows how to “hunt” something like Rex where as the Indo was killing for sport. This is a huge factor because the Indo seems to be testing its capabilities and is unwilling to back down from a fight where as the Spino has the experience and wouldn’t hunt Rex unless it could take down dangerous critters of this size without sustaining too much injury to itself. The Spino, having relied far more on instinct than intelligence, is no doubt capable of taking a hit that even the Indo might struggle to deliver.

I think you undervalue the Spino when it comes to fighting experience. Unlike the I Rex, the Spino was grown up presumably most of it's life in nature, free, fighting and clearly surviving, probably killing anything that it comes across. By comparison, the I Rex was raised in a cage and only had experience fighting 3 or 4 species when it broke out. According to Erik, the Spino is confident enough to actively smell out Rexs
I disagree. All the spinos experience is useless. Has the spino ever fought the indominus? The indominus is nothing like a trex. There is no dino similar to the indominus rex for the spino to gain experience from. The spinosaurus never fought any dino that could give it the experience needed.This will be the first time for both of them. Unfortunately for the spino, the Irex is a very quick learner, and would probably beat the spino.

And the Indo Rex grew up in a cage, only free for a day or two? If that, I'm not sure how long JW took place. By comparison, the Spino has grown up in the wild.
It isn't reaching for straws to say a wild animal is probably a better fighter than a caged one. The I do Rex is the finished product, but the Spino has some of the same traits. And the experience of how to use them in an actual fight.

The raptors on Sorna would probably not listen to her: why? Because it’s a larger pack. Possibly large enough to kill the indominus (Considering they were planned to kill the Spinosaur.) so they would probably just let the indominus do it on her own

Spino is the strongest big theropod. It’s far more experienced than I-Rex and probably has a mass advantage too. If it’s near water spino instantly wins.

An awesome analysis, on point overlooked is that the old TRex from 1990s is hardly a spring chicken, she's probably over 30 years old by JW giving the Indoraptor a pretty solid advantage.
A younger TRex may have done better against it, that said I think the Indro comes out on top and think ya nailed the conclusion.

I think it’d be a draw with both creatures dying of their respective injuries. The tank that was the Spino and the instinct smart I-Rex would be evenly matched so I think it’s a draw with both creatures dying and no clear winner.

The I-Rex was a confused, deranged, inexperienced abomination that killed pampered park attractions, it’s never faced anything bigger or stronger than it.
Spino spent its entire life squaring off with other apex predators, it tanked a plane crash, and blew through structures effortlessly. It took down a T-Rex faster than I-Rex could take down the old 1993 T-Rex.

It depends on where they fight at. Like for example, if I Rex and spino fight somewhere in a jungle that would give I Rex the advantage to camouflage and sneak attack spino. But if they were anywhere near water spino would use that strength to push I Rex into the water and potentially drown him.
I think the spinosaurus from jp3 seem to possess an almost supernatural ability to be cunning crafty and just know where everybody was at any time it would always pop up it seems to have an x factor that you just can't put your finger on that particular spinosaurus I think would be very hard to beat however a giganotosaurus fighting it would be extremely fascinating

Also, no dinosaur in the franchise is accurate, every SINGLE ONE is a hybrid thanks to the frog DNA explained in the first film. The Indominous, Indoraptor, Scorpius Rex, and all the others just happened be more hybridized than the rest.

You know I have been thinking about this... I'd like to add something to my original comment. I think the Indominus would be smart enough to not immediately fight the spino but rather observe it before engaging. I would say that besides a full grown Giga, either might be the other's exception to reconsider immediately fighting. Ultimately perhaps both avoiding a mutual KO either would respect each other whilst prodding the others for weaknesses every so often. Unless that is one isn't chasing a bunch of tourists into the jaws of the other surprising both.
It's interesting cuz they're both "hybrids" but I think the Indominus has the edge
I.Rex has features of a bunch of other dinosaurs while Ingen Spino only has Suchominus DNA. So I agree with I.Rex having the advantage

I just wanna mention some absolutley insane stuff the spino survived just to prove that the indominus just could not win.
Number 1
As mentioned in the video the spinosaurus survived the t rex biting down on it's neck and even managed to shake it off after wards. The t rex would likely had a biteforce of around 35 000 newtons, for contrast a salt water crocodile has a bite force of around 16 500 newtons. Also take into account the cutting edge of the t rex's teeth means that it realistically should have just pulverised the spinos neck bones. But it was left with minor damage.
Number 2
A freaking plane flew into it! That plane would have to have traveled minimum 100km/h to even take off, it could have smashed into it even faster but that's impossible to say

It ran through a steel gate and broke it like it was made of cardboard, this was by just ramming it with it's head.
Im probably missing out on some stuff too but that's just to show that this is one of the most unrealistic animals we've seen in the movies, and it's basically just a tank that can break the neck of a t rex, who had one of the beafyest necks and strongest bones in the animal kingdom. It's a no contest, that spino is something else entirely. My theory is that the spino is and early atempt to make weaponised dinosaurs to fight in wars or whatever, but they made it way too dangerous so they just left it on isla sorna, which might be an extinction for the island

Mr. Klayton, after careful consideration, I decided to make my own Jurassic Park movies for the future and my Jurassic Park fan films and crossover movies included.
Klayton, I'm a long time appreciator of your channel but I have a bit of information to weigh on here. I'm glad you didn't repeat that dumb 'Break the sail, you paralyze the animal' myth has absolutely *no* scientific backing. That was invented by the 'documentary' Monsters Resurrected, and was most certainly not a weak spot. The sail was made from a raised spinous process, a completely separate part of the back than the nervous system cord. Biting or breaking it is no different than hitting any other bone or piece of skin from a non-vital spot. It hurt, but really not do any damage. It be less damaging than busting a rib or breaking a limb. In fact the Indom focusing on it would mostly just waste time. The spinal cord itself sits under several layers of bone and muscle underneath the sail. In fact trying to get at that is even harder because of the sail. In short, a Spinosaurus would actually be harder to paralyze and damage in that spot than a normal theropod.

The question is which of these two hybrids would run away first? The indominous would run and regroup and the spino would chase it down (hell it chased humans all over the island) if the indominus calls for back up with its raptor side which pack would come the tiger stripped or the Mohawks? If it was one on one to the death i hate to say it but the spino would win strictly on battle experience here's why. How did it know to snap a T Rex's neck? Battle experience fighting other Rexs for territory, kills or dominance, stuff like that an animal in the wild adapts over time in killing other animals not just by chance. Sure the IRex has thicker hide and longer arms but bones are bones they break all the same and based off the DNA of the Irex its basically a giant super raptor with t rex jaws and too many abilities how it would use them in battle idk but pound for pound the spino takes it. Reminder once the old, half starved rexy got her second wind (with the assistance from blue) Rexy was dominating the I rex. Keep that in mind a much older and malnourished t rex was beating a much younger and healthier IRex and on the other corner the Spino has been battle hardened and healthy surviving on a much more hostile island fighting off the other and stronger maybe even bigger wild Rex's.
